Zala Clip In Extensions Vs Tape Ins

Hi guys, okay, so today I'm going to be talking about clip in extensions vs. tape in extensions, so my last video was a review on the tape and extensions by Zola and what I thought of them at the time. I did really like them, but I ended up taking them out at about five and a half six weeks, and currently I've switched back to clip in extensions, but I am using Zala as well and I'll show you guys what I have so. I'Ve switched to azula's clip in extensions, and I got the quad weft extensions. So here's a five-piece West right here. This one has five clips, but it's called the quad weft, I think, is what it's called, because it has like four rows of hair. All stitched together along this strand here, so what I love about that is you're getting a thicker chunk of hair per weft. Therefore you don't have to wear as many webs or what I find myself I found myself doing. A lot was, I would get any type of extensions and so a bunch of West together, so that the ends were nice and thick and that I wasn't having to wear like five different layers of hair. So what I love about these? These are the 20 inch quad weft extensions, and these are the color honey. Beach highlights yeah, honey beach highlights, and I love this color. It matches my natural. You know a natural dyed, hair very well, and what I love about these is how thick the ends are. I know I talked about that in my tape and extension video, but that's really why I do love those all extensions and think they're worth literally. Every penny is because the ends are super nice and plush, just like they should be, and they really stay true for thickness from top to bottom, which is what you really want, instead of how so them together, like I was having to sew them together like I Was saying I've done in the past? It'S just annoying to spend that much money and then still feel like. You have to fix a bunch of things with these. I can literally put them in and they were ready to go and they're perfect and the clips are very secure. So I really like these clip in extensions the ones I have in now I've trimmed a little bit. So I don't think this is the full 20 inches but they're, probably like 18 or 19 inches, and I just really like the quality of them so far and I'm really enjoying just being back to the clip in extensions. And I have a bunch of reasons why and just to give you guys kind of some comparison, because that's what I was looking for when I went to try the tape in so I just want to tell you guys kind of my experience and kind of a Comparison between the two to help you decide, maybe what would be better for your lifestyle or better for what you're looking for so the first thing would be with the tape and extensions you're, just using a lot more product on them, you're, just you when you're in The shower and you're shampooing you're going to use a lot more shampoo, a lot more conditioner just because you have all the extra hair in your head and you're having to wash it all the time. So I noticed I was just using more product altogether, which you know in turn, is gon na cost more money in the long run. So that was one thing I noticed, and also the lasting power or the lasting. The life of your hair is just a lot shorter, with the tape and extensions than it is going to be with clippings. So, with tape and extensions, like I just mentioned, you are going to be washing them and styling them at the same time, so that you would normally wash your hair. So I only wash my hair every three days, but you know that adds up a lot in three months or however long you end up keeping them in, and I was just noticing that the life of the hair is just a lot shorter when they're always connected To your head, so just by shampooing them and heat styling and blow-drying all the time, your extensions, they don't have the life and the natural oils and they're connected to the root of your hair like your natural. So they just don't last as long and after about maybe five weeks, I did start noticing that the ends are starting to get a little dry. They didn't like look bad or anything. I could just feel that they were really dry and then in the back of my head they were starting to matte a lot more easily. So if you guys have more extensions - or I think even if you just have like really thick hair - which I've had an experiences until I wear extensions - is that a lot of times I can specially be wearing a hat or like a jacket with a big hood Or a scarf or something and the back of your head is just kind of getting like moved around a lot. It starts to matte your hair in the back yeah. It can be really annoying anything you're constantly needing to brush that out, or you end up just playing with your hair way too much trying to fix it, and it can be really annoying. So I started noticing that that got a lot worse once the extensions started drying out because they were just like not as silky and they just started matting up super easily and it started to kind of like irritate me. So that's one thing is just the life of the hair is a lot shorter, so with my clip and extensions I hardly ever wash them and I hardly ever heat style them. So it's really nice because I can really extend the life of the extensions by not doing all those things every couple days and I think it just ends up being easier and more worth your money to be able to clip in your hair. It'S already styled and ready to go when you're done styling your natural hair, then having to do the whole regimen with the extensions in your head and that's kind of like a personal thing. I just the time it took me to wash blow-dry and style with my tapings was more than it does of my clips, and also I'm using all that all that, like extra product on it. So it's like kind of time and money that you're spending more with the tape is than you are with the clippings okay. So another thing I started noticing the tape ins, especially once I took them out, was that my natural hair wasn't getting the like nutrients and the product that I was applying to it, because my hair is pretty fine and you have such a thin piece sandwiched between Your tape and extension, obviously I was shampooing my hair, like normal, applying a lot of conditioner. A lot of you know: macadamia oil or argan oil. To my ends, I noticed that when I took them off, my ends were super dry. Super split - and I know they're gon na look sad compared to what I had with the tape ins either way, but it just seemed like way worse than when I had had them put in and then when I started thinking about it, I realized that the tape Is pretty much covered, my natural strands of hair, because they were a little bit longer and a lot more plush, so they kind of like encapsulated them almost. So I realized that most of those products that I was placing on my ends like lots of conditioner and deep conditioner and, like I said, the oils they weren't, really feeding all the way through to my natural hair, which in turn left it really dry and kind Of broken because it wasn't getting those nutrients and those products, I was trying to apply to it. So for me, like I'm, still trying to have the best natural hair that I can. Even though I wear clip and extensions, and I am still trying to grow it and keep it really healthy and all those things - and I just felt like I wasn't able to maintain and like work on the health of my hair with the tape ins in like At nighttime I love to brush my scalp through, and I used like a wooden bristled brush to brush my scalp. It'S really good for stimulating the hair growth of the scalp and also spreading the oils throughout your hair to keep them nice and healthy and moisturized. And I couldn't really brush my scalp with the tape ins and obviously like I could brush maybe like up here. But I couldn't really get the brush all the way through and really brush them at night, which I really enjoyed doing and then also again, the ends they weren't getting, but dinner's, deep conditioners and oils that I was applying. So all in all, like my natural hair, health, just went way downhill, and I was really sad when I realized that afterward. So that was like one of the main things that um I still want to work on is like having the best hair. I can, and I felt like with the tape ins - they just were kind of there, and I wasn't like treating my natural hair with any extra love. Okay, so the one thing that I think tape ins will always have over clip-ins is the fact that they're kind of always in your head and they're they're, always there, no matter what you're doing. I that's why I wanted the tape in and that's why I did really enjoy them. Is it was so nice to wake up with all my hair in and go run, errands and I'll have to like clip my hair and real quick or go without my hair and feel like lame about myself or whatever it is or like you run into someone And I'm like, I thought she had like way better hair than that, and then it's like, like that's how I feel about my extensions sometimes so it was really nice to have that all the time - and I think oh, I was thinking like, maybe for a honeymoon Or you're going on like a longer vacation, are you doing so like that? It would be really nice to have your tapings in because you're, probably around a lot of people and you're running around doing things, maybe you're going swimming or you don't have like a lot of time to get ready and you're. Not gon na want to be clipping. Your hair in and out all the time so it would be really nice to have tapings for something like that, but for me and kind of just my everyday lifestyle and just having a relatively basic life, I just felt like it wasn't. It wasn't worth all the drawbacks to have that, and I've noticed like it doesn't take me that long to clip in my hair in the morning, if I want to have it and I have started just wearing you know, buns and stuff to the gym and things Out my hair and feeling totally fine with that, so I think maybe that's something I've just come to, but it is tapings are so nice because they are always there and maybe if you only need just like a little bit of help or something I Chaffins would Be nice because you could only have like five pieces in and maybe you wouldn't have as negative effects on your natural hair or things like I had so I do love the tapings are always in your head. I think that's always going to win kind of, like I said, but um all these other factors, the cost factor the amount of product you're using the amount of time you're spending all of those things. I think clippings are just way better and I think I probably will stick with clippings for, like the rest of the time, at least maybe until something else themselves. I don't know. I just think it's the most practical way to kind of like play with your hair and change it up, but still feel like at the end of the day. You can take it out, you can brush it, you can sleep and you feel kind of like free again so um. Also, if you are starting out with extensions, I highly recommend using clip-ins. I think, if you're just gon na try extensions for the first time committing to a true leave, are the bonds or tip our tape, ins or something so permanent? It'S just a little scary and I think it's always good to start with the clip ins to like get a feel for what it's like. It'S gon na, be less expensive up front and then, if it's something you really love, maybe venture out to those other things. Like I did but then I ended up coming right back to clip-ins, so I think it's definitely a personal preference for everyone, but I have been super pleased with my Zala extensions. I probably won't switch from them anytime soon, and I think I'm going to keep this set of hair for a really long time. The the quad weft 20 inch set, I got, came with like quite a bit of hair. It came with two of these five piece extensions, which are really long by the way that look kind of like wraps around your whole head. So I think it came with two of those and I think at least four of the three clip extensions and I only wear two wefts at a time right now. I only have in to west of the three clip - and it's like totally enough for me. So um, I think it's nice, because I'm just like setting some hair aside right now and tell me you start getting a little more tired or a little more dry and then I'll pull those out. So you can really extend the life and the package of your clippings and just get a lot more bang for your buck, with the clips and with the length of these and the way that ends that the sala ends are so plush. And so nice, like, like I said before, I've sewn wefts together and done a really horrible job sewing, and I've got like jenkees sewn on clips and all this stuff, like it's so nice to not worry about that and I think paying. I think I paid a little extra for the quad weft versus like they're. Regular clipping extensions was like 100 % worth it. It'S not that much more and it's worth getting that extra thickness for each weft of hair. I highly recommend that too, because it looks a lot more natural and it's just a lot more easy for you, if you're not wearing like five different West and your hair and the ends aren't even as thick as you want, like it's totally not worth it. So I highly recommend going with the quad weft or something extra thick, just it's totally worth the money in the long run. So I just really love Sala as a company, and I love their extensions. I don't have anything really bad to say about the tape and extensions, except they were a little bit harder to remove for me. I did remove them myself, but I used the like natural oil solvent that you can purchase from them and they did all come out. Fine, I just noticed that the adhesive was kind of like breaking up onto my scalp, and it was a little bit harder to remove from some of my natural hair. So I think what happened was just because of the heat and everything that happened here being closer to my scalp. I noticed that the the adhesive was even harder to remove than the other parts that were pretty hard to remove. I think that the heat styling and things like almost melted, the adhesive too much to my scalp, and so I noticed some of these ones were even harder to remove, which was a little rough. But that could be something that I did wrong. So I'm not exactly sure on that, so I just wanted to give you guys this video to kind of compare clip ins versus tape ins. I think they're, two of the most highly used extensions out there that people are using and talking about so I just kind of wanted to give my experience in my feedback, because I have been working with extensions for quite a while now. So if any of you guys have specific questions or want me to go in-depth more about certain parts I talked about, I would really love to make that video, for you guys, I just feel like. I have a good amount of knowledge and experience with all this. So if that can help, you guys make decisions and find what you're looking for like that's what I want to do so, just let me know if that's something you guys are interested in or if anything, any other video suggestions you guys have or something you want To see you just please let me know, as I'm starting this channel, it's really great to get any sort of feedback. Rebecca Short: Loovvee how much detail you go into! So helpful! I am definitely a clip in wearer, it just suits my lifestyle better. I wear the triple weft ZALA's but im really interested in the quad set. I havent seen ANY reviews on them though! :( I would love so much if you could do a full video on the quad set and show what they look like with them all in! I like my hair so so thick and currently wear all 9 pieces of the triple weft so would love to see what the quad all looks like! Thanks for your great vids so far!

Kiera Thomas: I've loved every set from Zala i've purchased <3 such great quality and there customer service is fantastic as well

Chelsey Rose: Great video! Thank you for your insight. I've worn clip ins for years and just recently put in zala tape ins about a month ago. Already I miss my clip ins because I wanna wash my scalp real good and put my hair half up half down!

Alyssa H.: Fine hair here—— Zala clips hardly hold to my hair, and I hate teasing it, as it’s damaging, so I’m really not sure the best option for actual “fine” hair. It was almost TOO much, too heavy, and too bulky for me. Great hair quality, just didn’t hold up :(

Jordan Bruce: I play soccer for my states national team program, so i was wondering; would I be able to comfortably tie my hair up in a somewhat high ponytail with the clip ins on? Also, how often do you wear/wash your clip in extensions from Zala? - are they synthetic or real human hair? Thank you for any feedback! <3

Angelique Combs: hey gurls, honestly dont bother dying your hair ombre - just get ZALA extensions!!! I mix it up all the time and my friends are so in awe <3

Katherine Perkins: THANK GOD for ZALA's,and thank you for sharing this video/tutorial,this was very helpful <3

Caroline K: Hey! I found your channel looking for reviews about Zala that aren't sponsored lol. I recently bought a pack of the platinum clip ins to highlight because I have blonde highlights on light/medium brown hair and the highlighted sets from Zala looked too warm toned for me. When you held yours up it looked warm like I expected- are they as warm in person? Lol sorry for all the questions - you have a new extension lover subscriber in me :)

Ccccm94: Super helpful video omg! Thank you so much !

CJA32able: Hey how do you feel about the process of obtaining human hair ? Have you spoke to Zala about their practices ? Years ago I read an article about Indian women promised religious salvation for donating their hair. Didn't seem right to me ....

Yuzon02: Hi amber Andrews..how long does the zala hair clip ins last? Do they last 1 or 3 years since it says it's made from real human hair??

Courtney Laughman: What color are these? I am ordering a pair for my wedding! Do you like the 16inch or 20 inch better?

Melissa Rogers: Oh wow. I really wish I had of seen this before now. :( I just purchased tape in from zala and they arrived yesterday. Haven't put them in yet. Now I'm worried. I to have worn clip ins but not from zala. I watched many, many reviews before ordering them. wish I had seen this one.

Kai: your nose highlight is killing me
