Today, I just want to talk about damaged extensions, sometimes just like your own hair extensions can become dry and damaged tangled, you know, just through the use of hot styling tools and just overtime. So today, I'm just gon na talk to you about how to repair this. You know, hopefully it's not too late and then how to prevent this from happening. Human hair extensions are just like your own hair, so if they are mistreated or not taken care of properly, they can become dry brittle and damaged. So it is important to repair them if you would like to keep using them. There are a couple of things you can do to bring your extensions back to life. If your extensions are very brittle and they have a lot of split ends, you can use a hot oil treatment to repair them. The hot oil treatment will seal the cuticles and repair the split ends. There are many brands of hot oil treatments that you can find at any drugstore or if you visit your local salon, you should be sure to find something that will help repair the extension. Alternatively, if your extensions are very dry or tangley, you can use a good conditioning treatment to lock in the moisture. The best way to use the treatment is to apply liberally onto the extensions and wrap them in a bag like a plastic bag or even a shower cap. This will seal in the moisture again. There are many brands out there just find one that you like the best for both methods in order to get the best results. It'S a good idea to disperse the products evenly over the extensions be sure to use a wide tooth comb to comb the product evenly throughout the extension. Once the extensions have been sitting for five to 10 minutes, rinse them out with lukewarm water and then let them air dry depending how damaged your extensions are. It may take more than one treatment to see any results, so in order to prevent the damage from happening again or to prevent it from happening at all. I'M going to give you a few tips that you can follow to care for your extensions. The first tip is shampoo. You always want to make sure you were using very mild sulfate-free shampoo, when applying shampoo to your extensions and you have to shampoo very infrequently. It is not necessary to wash your extensions every day because it will dry out your extensions when you are shampooing. Do not rub aggressively or scrub like this. The best thing to do is just apply the shampoo in a downward motion. This will prevent any damage to your extensions after shampooing always use conditioner and make sure that it's a great moisturizing conditioner. You can always just leave it on for an extra few minutes, and this will again keep the moisture in your extensions. The next tip is combing. It'S a good idea to always use a wide tooth comb when combing out your extensions, don't use a brush because brushes can break the extension, especially if you pull too hard, always comb your hair extensions out after you wear them and comb them as frequently as pop As possible to prevent tangling, the next tip is styling. When you are styling, your extensions always try to use a low heat setting and if you can air dry as often as possible, that's also a great idea be sure to apply a heat protectant before you put any kind of heat on the extension. If it's a use of curling iron, flat iron or blow dryer, another great tip is to use a shine, balm or styling oil after you have styled your hair. This way, your hair extensions will look very shiny and healthy, lastly, be sure to always store your extensions properly again comb them out after you take them out. So then, this way they will not matte or get tangley, because then, when it's time to use them again, they are ready to be used when you store your extensions lie them flat or hang them up.
