Hi, I'm Tiffany educator of halo, Couture hair extensions. Today, we're going to give you a tutorial on how to apply and install tape and extensions using the rat tail comb, I'm just going to make two parts in the back just like so, and then we're going to section off two parts in the front, creating four Different quadrants, beginning at the bottom, on either side measure 3/4 of an inch approximately 2 fingers from the clients hairline. Your first extension will start here. As you see, we've sectioned the hair into four quadrants. Now we're going to show you how to apply the tape you're going to take. The tape reveal the tape by pulling off the tab. It comes off very easy you're, going to take a section of hair equaling the amount of the hair in the actual extension you're, going to make sure that you have a very clean line. You don't want any hairs that are not in that clean line. You don't want them to pull hold that hair up, placing the tape in holding on the sides creating a flat surface, putting down that hair and smoothing it with that rat tail comb. You also want to make sure that it is going with the curvature of the head so that way, when it's going up and down it's very comfortable and it's not tugging at any hairs on the scalp you're going to take your second piece revealing the adhesive and All you're going to do is simply lay that piece directly on top of the previous. As you can see, it's going with the shape of her head and we're just going to pinch that together there are no tools or heat necessary and it's going to be in there nice and secure and seamless. So, as you can see, when putting up Melissa's hair, it's going to be flawless with nothing being revealed. As you can see, when I place the tape, I had some little stragglers that I made sure to section out if you do have any hairs that are not in this line, make sure that you section that out so she can have free range to do what She wants with her hair, just as if it's her natural hair, depending on the density of the clients, hair, is going to depend on how much you want to leave between each section. So, if Melissa having thicker hair we're going to take smaller sections, so we can put more extensions in her hair you're, going to do this same process to both sides again making sure to create very clean sectioning. Now we're ready to start her brick blade pattern, placing three pieces above the two that we already have depending on fullness desired. You will place each tab, approximately 1/4, of an inch from the last brick laying as many pieces as needed per client. You you you so here we're doing the bricklaying process instead of playing four pieces in one line with this row right here, you always want to leave at least two finger spaces between the hairline and the extension. So that way, it's comfortable not around the hairline, so she can wear it up and down without seeing anything. So what I did is, I actually took another section, just a little above the two pieces that I had here and kind of overlapped these two pieces, so that way she can still have full movement of her hair without seeing anything. So here we are on our third row of bricklaying the extensions we're going to be working, probably about five different rows. Typically, that's an average head approximately about two inches above her ears, making sure that she has enough hair to cover any of the tabs. Now that we finished the last row of the Brickley pattern, we're going to move on to the sides continuing with the pattern that we already have making sure that we are approximately about two inches above the ear. So that way, if they're wearing any type of glasses sunglasses, it's going to sit on their head comfortably and when doing the sides make sure that they are going with the curvature of her natural hairline. It'S important when doing the sides that you connect the back on the side to where there is no gaps between, so we're going to do one to connect the side to the back. So, by placing this one between the back section and the side section, it's creating a seamless flow without any disconnection or gaps. That'S where the brick layering comes in handy, because you're not ever going to have any spaces between it's gon na blend, really nice and naturally. So. I finished up with Melissa's tape, ins and the main things when putting these in is making sure that they are nowhere around the hairline. So, as you can see, if melissa is doing anything with her hair you're, not gon na be able to see anything there's nothing around here.

Ms.Natacha: Amazing thanks girly, you made it look so easy <3

Rae Wynn: Fantastic video! I'm a hairdressers. You did great!

superdooper: Really nice clean and clear video

Angel1: Best tape tutorial I have seen , what do you think about angling the side tapes?

Danielle Guzman: I'm not a hairdresser but I want to do this, looks super fun!

DallasStorm43: Using too much hair to sandwich the wefts in between. It should be shorter than the length of the tape, just slightly. So it won't snag or pull hair.

lyndsay alyse: Thanks this was a really great informative video

Luna Chick: nice video I was just wondering though another videos I watched they say to hold the tape in with the end of your rat tail comb because any oils from your fingers can essentially ruin the tape in and I noticed that you grab the ends of a lot of the tape ins with your fingers just on the very ends so I wanted to ask if that messed it up at all?

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Can tape extensions easily cause hairloss even when I have only used it once and gently tore them off my hair instead of extensions remover?

Mi Ears: Great vid. My only question is, my hairdresser said to not place the tape so close to the roots, you look like you are going so close to the roots, my hairdresser said that it should be placed a little away from the root to allow less tension on the root?

Dd Taylor: Great video with the explanations but I noticed you didn't secure them with a little heat like I've seen other professionals do. Is there a reason for that?

ffion watson: How many tapes were used overall?

Ronald Weekes: When you put on the first tape it is best to then lift the hair after and put on the second tape on the first tape and not on the hair

Kelly Anne: This looks far less tedious than doing the 1/4 inch, keratin extensions. I’m very tempted!!!

lauren: Hi great tutorial, thanks for sharing. How many tape in pieces did you use for her hair (estimate)?

Pretty Kenneth: How long do they last?? Can they be used on short hair?

dana marie hassanali: How much piece would u need to make hair thick

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Has anyone else started wearing extensions also just because you have also had problems having short and thin hair for a long time and not been able to get long and thick hair again which you don't have patience or not even have time to wait for some special reasons as me? How long can tape extensions be on hair, can it be used again several times on hair, how long can it last before it gets worn out, how many tape exensions do I need for short and thin hair when I want long and thick hair, how can I keep it on my hair without it falling off, does it feels natural like our own hair when we wear it, will tape attachment be invisible on short and thin hair, can it make hair worn, how to blow-dry my hair and tape extensions without it being worn if tape extensions have to be blow-dryed every time I wash both my hair and tape extensions and do tape extensions need any other products than just extra tape, remover and another shampoo and conditioner?

Nikola Pergamov: Purfect work

Vietnam BT Hair: thank you for sharing this

Ilyssa Nichols: I.like her she take her time and show you how to install it

Jasmin Cunningham: Would you prefer this to be used for thin hair?

nylirehc b.: what kind of tape? and how to put tape on extension?

Amethyst: I hate it when tape-ins are put close to the hairline omg, for instance, Tana Mongeau (sorry tana). But this is just really seamless and well blended, thank god someone knows
