Um hi, my friends, it's me Mandy. I am here just Jamie and I just got done coloring her hair. We did an amazing likes, ombre ombre and we put in some really gorgeous caramel tones and I'll show you guys what our hair color was before. But I excited we are totally doing a transformation to her hair. She just got done taking out some. Were they beaten extensions? Yes yeah? So she had beaten and guess what we're doing we're converting her away from beads because they are they're just not like they don't feel good in your hair and they are damaging. So I'm excited you guys. We are doing I'm going to show you. Why is a tutorial today on tape and extensions and how I apply them and what you can do to your hair to create a whole nother color? So, for instance, Jamie was completely 100 % all solid level 3. This is her natural color. We added in some really pretty caramel. I did a like ball yash, highlighting into her hair today, and I will do a tutorial on that, but we wanted to focus maybe today to show you my is that you can take your hair and create a natural like melt with extensions. So what if you were like? Oh my gosh, I have dark hair and I had to put dark extensions in completely so we are so excited because we are doing what you call a we're: adding extensions to create unmelted her hair. So I'm going to show you guys the inspiration picture. We like love-love-love up her her. So what we have going on here is we have some super platinum, platinum tone in her hair. We also have some really pretty caramel tones throughout her hair and we have super dark hair, so this is like with Jamie's head. Is the perfect Harris were issued for her hair? So this is the goal today. So we wanted to break up her dark color, so it wasn't like dark to light, so we are adding in three different colors of hair extensions today to her hair, your using bombshell extension company and I usually use placed hair, but I also switch off between these Two bombshell colors that we have in her hair today are three different color, so I'm going to show you is how I apply tape and extensions and how I'm going to be doing this, so you stay right there and don't move because you're going to love watching This video and it is she pretty. I love her also to explain to you guys really quick, so Jimmy's like super into the fitness rule that she does competitions and she's amazing has three kids. Has an amazing body will just it that I'm jealous about it, but was exciting about tape and extensions she'll, be of a pull her hair up way up like when she goes to the gym. She'S sweaty and her hair is like getting all over the place. Her hair will still stay flat pretty and it will feel comfortable on her head. So tapings are seriously amazing because they are just comfortable and they go with the flow of your head and they just they fall on your head and they're just flat against the head. In there, okay, you guys, so this is how I do my tape and extensions. I have an acrylic cart here and the only way this works. You only can do this to the extensions if it's acrylic, because they just slide right off just like this. So, as you guys can see, I have some multi colors here going on. I have a super platinum blonde hair, which is the color 60 from bombshell. Then I have a super dark color. That goes into a really pretty caramel tone, and this is color 1b ombre, and then I have this color here, which is more of a caramel tone and has like a highlight and a low light color in there, and this color is called 1016. So what I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be layering these all these extensions on and kind of, putting so pretty much the plan is to take up flatten and blonde and attaching it and sandwich it in to the Burnet one. So we can create pops a blonde, along with blending of the hair, so yeah we're going to take both of these and we are going to sandwich these together and I'm going to show you guys how to do it. So here we go okay, you guys. So what I did is because Jamie has a lot of coarse hair. Before I applied the extensions into the hair. I went through kind of point cut it into those and to kind of break up the ends, so they blend a lot better. So now I'm gon na go ahead and section out this hair. Okay, you guys so with extensions. You leave out the hairline, so, for instance, if she is going in here, she wants to pull her hair all the way up to like a top bun. You don't want any of those to like be right here at the nape, so you're going to leave out sections of the hair, so she can pull up her hair so from the nape to the occipital bone. That'S about much hair! We'Re going to be able to leave out so that way the extensions will cover when we, when we put the extensions in so in order for me to make sure this hair does not get in I'm going to just take a clip and just clip that off. Just like that, and you guys you want to make sure you have super super clean partings, because if your tape and extensions are applied in and in correctly and they're not applied on with a clean party, it's going to hurt the clients, hair so make sure they're Thin enough and make sure the sectioning is clean and just gorgeous. This is about the sectioning that I like. I, like the hair to be thin enough, so you can see through it and that way it creates the hair to also attach onto the tape in I'm going to take a small, fine section and everyone does their tapings different. You guys there's so many different ways of applying, but I'm going to do it. The way that I like and the way that works for me so take a very clean line, very clean parting here and I'm going to start with the color 10:16. This color is so beautiful, so you have your tape in weft right here and you want to make sure that you're not touching this with your fingers. What I like to do is I like to take the hair and, as you guys can see, that's a very clean, clean line right there, a very nice party and I'm going to take that and I'm going to attach that right as close as possible and then What I like to do is I like to pull up with my finger underneath, and I really like to press down pretty hard against that scalp and yes, you're pulling the clients hair a little bit, so you can make sure it's tight against the scalp. Once you press the hair on you're, going to take a weaving comb like this, like a rat tail comb and you're, going to just take that and smooth over that hair um. Take that natural hair that we put on top of that. And then, if there's any additional hair like you're, going to take your your reading, comb you're going to pick up all this hair and you're going to take any hair, that's additional left onto that! You don't want anything loose, not attached to it! So that's what will create the dam? That'S what creates damage. So you want to be really careful with that. So just pick up the rest of the remaining hair and clip that off then, on top of that color I want to add on an ombre color. So now I'm going to add on this beautiful ombre color and what I do is I just take that and I press that exactly where the other one on the bottom is - and I just slide my fingers over and I will take that and press really really Hard and just make sure that's really secured together and sound, which together and now I can take that clip off underneath and remove that. So I see now, I have created a guideline. Oh my gosh. Look how beautiful, okay, so the next section I'm going to be doing is I'm going to be putting one right into the middle? What you really want to make sure you guys do, is you want to create the harsh and weight line of the hair to be completely covered? Okay, so I'm going to take one of those babies right here in the middle same exact thing. Take the caramel 10:16 color attach that right to the hair press underneath hard and pull this above hair, that's the natural on top of that and you're going to make sure it gets super close to the scalp. There'S nothing more annoying getting extensions and feeling like there's room. That'S still left on the top of the scalp, because that makes you feel like. Oh, my gosh, my hair is already growing so make sure you try to get as tight as possible against the scalp because it will drive the client crazy and in the long run, it's better for you as a as a stylist, because you're not having to worry About you know doing their move. Ups, like two weeks later so kind of how I do it. I took the additional hair that was left on top of the tape and I moved it on up now, I'm going to take an ombre color and again I'm going to place that and slide it over and make sure you're pressing, really really hard. Some people do the heat method where they take and they take a strainer kind of tap on to the tape. But I don't think that's necessary. Look how pretty it's so gorgeous. Okay, now I'm going to do another one on to the other side and why you want to see with tape and extensions? Is you want to make sure you can take both of the sides of the hair and move it up and down like that, and that's what you call a really good isolation of the extension okay, so next section, as you can see, I pulled out a hit. The hair line to cover anything that's going to go on top of that, so if she ever pulls her hair up this hair right here will have any extension. It will just be able to cover all the hair, that's being pulled up with it. So you're going to take the same exact width of the extension of course, and you want to make sure again it's a super clean parting and you're, going to just get as tight and close as possible to that root. Oh and go over that with a nice little rat tail comb make sure all the hair that is supposed to stick on is stuck on. And if you go like this, you guys and there's hair that is left on that hair. If it is put into the extension that hair would get damaged, so be careful with that, so that was the 10 16 color. Now I'm gon na go in and add an ombre color onto that and again just really press hard perfect. That is the very first row of tape and extensions. So so far we have two four six extensions attached into the hair: okay, so next section, as you guys can see, she has a pretty hard weight line right here. So we want to make sure that gets blended. So what I did with my measurements and my sectioning is: I took it about two inches above her last row. So that's: what's it with hair, that's pretty thick! You need to leave room in between each tape. In this is when you can start connecting the hair over onto the side, so you want to make sure you have a connecting piece right around this area. So when you pull up the hair, it's going to still have a piece of hair. That'S going to flow right through this section. A lot of people miss that section and that's when you're like. Oh, I have a chunk that doesn't have hair so you're, going to just take a same exact thing. Take the Carmel, 10:16 color press hard! Tell your clients! Sorry, that's hurting them, but your client will appreciate if you're pulling hard you guys, even if they have a sensitive, scalp or head, make sure like you're pulling hard because it's it's going to be loose. If it's not put right to the scalp and that's not going to be fun to do it so same exact thing, take any additional hair and pull it up and attach that and make sure that's a super clean line, see how there's like a perfect parting right. There my ombre color, I press that right on top and when you start getting higher into the head, the hair starts getting wider, so you start doing like more rows of a tape and extension and so just make sure you are going like you want to make Sure you're putting in the hair the right placement and you want to make sure that you keep track of all your hair because tape is they all of a sudden like you keep using them in you're like oh, I need more hair, so you got to be Careful so next section same exact same just repeating myself see how that weight line is just getting perfectly covered. If you have the right sectioning, you don't have to deal with like a super hard weight line like that, and you want to make sure you're taking big enough sections. Yes, small enough. Okay, you guys so once you get to the side and what you really want to do is make sure you have an area in the front where, if she pulled her, her back is covered, but you also want to make sure you're covering up. You know your! You know the gaps that you need, so I'm going to start right here above the ear and I'm going to go with one about right here. It'S high enough yet low enough ombre, color heystop right on top, and that way this area, this section she'll be able to pull back her hair and you won't even be able to see that she'll be able to pull it up this way and you won't be Able to see that, so that's the perfect placement right there and take it about an inch above that first one for the very bottom one I just like to put one in there, because you really only just need one and I like to clip off really a Lot of hair, so nothing falls down, and then this is when you want to start putting it a connecting piece. So what I'm being connecting? This means this section like from the side to the back. You have this little midsection right through here. You want to make sure you put in a connecting piece right there, or else it's not going to look blended at all up at this color. You guys. I actually want to start now popping out the blonde in his hair. So I'm going to put a platinum blonde right on top of this one, my gosh it's over there and then now we're going to go over here onto this section and we're going to do another one right here, as you can see, they're still hair left her Natural hair remaining underneath there, this is the color sixty and I'll, be placing that right. There so show you gon na have some awesome like peekaboo color, I'm going to add in the ombre dark color. So it's kind of fun because we were like giving this hair a good mixture, but she still doesn't have like a really good pop of color all the way throughout her entire hair. Okay. So I'm right above you here far enough forward, but yet enough back so that way she can pull her hair back, I'm taking a see-through section, but I like to switch it from the back to the side and because that way, I'm getting a good, consistent, coloring And hair all the way through, so we're going to now go back here to the back here. Okay, you guys, so we just got down for extensions. We are cell fest. I should say that that's like not even I wish, through the better work than obsessed but we're in a copper hair, and we are just going to blend everything together fast trip with blending. These you guys is point cutting into the end, so i'ma just take what I Phil needs off the ends and enough to keep the length. So I'm going to just go through here and point cut. Unless your client want to really solve lunch line, then that's fine, but I don't love that blonde line because with extensions, it kind of just looks like that steak sort of go through hair and I'm going to just point cut into those ends, and that's also going To take some of the length as well, okay, so now what I like to do you my is: wherever an extension clients hair stops, that's what you want to start, adding in your slithering layering. So what I like to do with that is, I take the hair and I pick it up vertically, like this and I'll bring it forward and I'll go over direct the hair and, as you can see, that's where her hair's ending. So you want to make sure it's blending with that, so you'll go through hair start words ending and you're, going to just kind of slither through that and you're going to create legging along with some layering and then with the front, because she has, you know her Frontal taper her bangs. You want to make sure you blend that with the front as well, so you're going to take that and wherever that starts engine you're going to start adding in a frontal taper. So I'm going to just take your shares and dig into the front just like that. You'Re also over-direct that and you're going to fly it out and just do something long. Look like the plenty haircut is so important with extensions you guys like if you just leave it just like this. It'S not going to look good so same thing, underneath you want to make sure you're taking the section of her hair, where it is naturally and you're going to blend that together. What I really like to do is I'll go in here and I'm a very visual person, so I'm going to go in here and kind of see okay like through this section and it needs some some layering in there. So I'm going to go through here with my shears and kind of just blend. It just like this make sure you're not cutting the client hair, and I like to pick up the hair and I like to internally go in here and add in some more layers. We are finished with her extensions. I am so obsessed. We are set like zero Smee. It turns like she didn't expected eternal this pretty like she was saying. I can't even believe it looks this good. I was like well, what were you presenting for me come on, but we're so happy look at these pops of color that are all the way throughout her hair. This is the stuff on the body burn net. You guys, like you, can have your hair look different with being all dark like and you can create this amazing low-maintenance hair like this is her natural color she's, not gon na have to deal with any coloring, I'm so glad we went through here and balayage. All those caramel tones for her on her natural hair, because, honestly it if we didn't if we would have done that it would have been like dark and blunt it just would of blend it. So we are so side of the tree all the way around pushed on the back look at the back. It is more than I ever expected it to look lifelike. I knew I'm gon na be amazing, but everything just blends really really good in her hair. Look at this big massive ponytail. She has her to the side like the best thing ever is when you have when you get like thick hair like this. Having a big thick point, L is amazing. Um we have, let's just say we're obsessed and what're the color. We used was like right on point: every three mix, color six to the color, sixty 1050 and one beat through bombshell, was amazing. So a couple things I suggest for Jamie with hair extensions make sure make sure you use a sulfate-free shampoo conditioner, that's like huge with hair extensions. You have to use sulfate, free and and then also couple products. Lila is a matrix, Indian oil and that's just really good for extension, hair and then I love the own Estes smooth is shiny, the frizz control, it smells amazing and it doesn't make your hair build filmy and then a wet brush. That'S a huge thing as well and then also the biggest thing that I always like to suggest to my extension clients. It'S fine, a silk pillowcase, because when you sleep at night, like you're moving all around and your hair kinda gets matted into the cotton fabric. So if you have a silk pillowcase, that kind of just slide with it, which is really good, and then I also recommend with extensions, is always do like a side braid in the hair at night. You can have it on the side you can have in the back. I wouldn't highly recommend like putting a on top of the head. When you sleep just make sure you do it with a cute little braid. Look a lip colors. I love our know and we are so happy - and I am so so pleased with this hair, and you want to know what I want to tell you guys. The best thing about extensions is when you have a good sense extension set, and it looks this good straight like most the times, people think, oh, my gosh only way extensions look good is when you curl that, like no, you can have straight extensions and it looks Live gun, do you love it and we love it, love it she's amazing! Oh my gosh. I love her and you guys she's, like amazing, at fitness, and I want her to be like training me because I need it go. Oh hi. Mr. Russell, you guys don't miss down her hair. What'S your Instagram name, its Mulligan mascara and there's two underscores make sure you get that in there yes and I'll link it below. So if you guys are obsessed with her like, I am in this hair, go follow her look at this amazing hair. I hope I'll put the colors I'll put the company and I'll put everything down below. Rebeca Diaz: I am in love with her hair! I especially love how good the extensions look while being straight. Thank you Mandie for sharing your tips and tricks to us. :)

Alexsis Mae: Love the tip of removing the excess hair that didn't stick to the tape!

Serena Merlini: I'm in love with this tutorial! !! this is absolutely what I want on my hair. I went to a salon and they completely ruined my head. I spent such money and I ended up getting my head ruined. you are truly awesome and I love your work.do u do consultations?

Oh_ Hello: anyone notice how the front is just a straight cut ? needs more layering. it doesn't look good in the front if she wears it straight down.

Elizabeth Garcia: Mandie! I love your videos, passion and personality! I would love to see where you would apply placements for a partial extension service. Maybe someone that doesn't necessarily want them for length more for thickness and volume.

Michelle Dillard: Hi! I just love all your tutorials ❤ I have had extensions off an on for years but never tape in. most recently used Dream catchers with the copper cylinder. had so much trouble with them slipping due to my blow dry techniques. I have curly hair so have to blow it dry straight with a round brush. I'm wondering if I should try and embrace my curly hair? I just know nothing about curly hair and I haven't been able to find *tape in extensions* that are "curly". Do you know of a brand that carries curly tape in?

Ashtin Grange: I love how these turned out! Amazing work.

Valerie Chavez: Hi Mandie! I love this look! By any chance do you remember what color you used for her base?

jblog555: Great work!!! You have been an inspiration to myself and all the girls I work with at the salon!! How long do tape in extensions last????

Katy: Hi Mandie!!! You are amazing I just saw your video and I love it. I want to put in tape in extensions. My hair color is the same or maybe little lighter than her. I'm in love with this tutorial :) you are awesome. this is absolutely what I want on my hair. I have been using clip extensions for 2 years but now I'm interested in tape in extensions. I live in VA. please I need information about...from where I should buy them and where should I go for professional help. where do you live. I need your help please. Thanks.

Hair By Kelsie: I use the Babe tape in Extensions on my clients, and haven't heard about Bombshell or Lace until you had mentioned them, so I deff want to give those brands a try!! Such a good re fresher video :)) love the tip with how to pick up excess from the piece to prevent any damage! LOVE your video, as always!!! Keep it up Mandie! love the education :)) and ill still be commenting on every vid and on insta! I was so excited when you commented on my braid pic the other day on insta!! made my day! :))

divasal007: Omg...that would require so serious organization to make sure the tape ins go in the same spot. I am opening my salon in a few months so I watch all your videos. They help me out a lot!

Jeri Axelsen: Mandie, you are amazing, I wish I lived near and could come to you. I have super fine hair, but it has become damaged overtime and a stylist talked me into tape in extensions. I wore them for eleven weeks, and I was aware my hair would feel weird when I took them out, but it truly seems MORE damaged! I chose to not have them put back in and am very sad about me hair that was quite long and is now shoulder length. Could it be how long I wore them? Or the fragile state of my hair? Or the type of glue that was used? I know she used an acetone based remover, isn't that damaging?

Lola Love: Congratulation! you placement technique is clean and precise, well done !

Rebecca Smith: Great video with lots of info!

GiNA MARiE: Great Video!!! You are adorable i love your energy!! I am a stylist in NYC, Learning something new everyday for the passion of styling beautiful clients!! thank you Mandie!!

Theresa: Thanks for the great vid! What about prepping hair? Is clarifying shampoo a must? I hardly use product and only conditioner like once a week.

shea: You should've blended it more in the front

Bill M: Beautiful work, as always, and your model is OMG gorgeous.  ♥

divasal007: When you blend them in to match that part of her hair and when she is ready for a retape...does it matter where the tape ins go back in? And how long did this take? Thanks!

Karen ann: so pretty! ive always wondered about extensions. is it hard to brush your hair with them, do they get caught on them or do you just avoid brushing by the scalp lol

Yvonne Ming: Omg! Where did you get the tray the extensions are on and also the thing on top? Looks like an antique frame?? Sooooo cute! Great videos by the way!

Bridgette Bryant: Okay, so, seriously. I am beyond impressive. You did an amazingly professional job and your attention to detail is incredibly rare. What city do you work out of? I'd love to stop in next time I come through. Thanks for the vid :)

Lauren Florence: Hey Mandie! I was just wondering how to apply tape in extensions if a person wears their hair in a side part, I haven't seen any tutorials on it and I'm betting you would know haha! Please let me know!!

Wendy: You are an amazing hair stylist!

gen.var777: Hey maddie! I was wondering how we can get in contact with you, im going to go from dark brown to blonde and you are the best at using olaplex! Thanks

cynthia Johnson-LeJeune: How much did you charge her for the extinctions and cut ? Great Job!

Mariah Cofer: can you stack multiple pieces onto each other? i love tape in's i just never get the volume i want!

Marie Slessor: Hey just wondering how many peices you uses I have a pack of 40 peices in a nice dark ombré would 40 be enough to just add a pop in my ends ?

carolynjo2578: Wow so blended... Looks just like the pic... Amazing job..

MyLuxury1st Hair, Pigments, and Apparel: Great vid and explanations.

Alexx Eagleman- James: mandie what do u recommend on doing with the tape in when its time to re do my roots i have pink hair and re do my roots every 6-8weeks do i take out the tape ins or? plz help very interested in getting some tape ins so tired of clip ins thank you :)

Samantha Massoni: Any suggestions on 3 colors doing this on black hair? This looks great!

Jiorjina Becerra: how much would the hair cost itself plus the fee for the stylist?

123KaitlynMarie: Hey Mandie! I was wondering if your hair is your real hair or are you wearing extensions? either way your hair is amazing! Xoxo

Sarah Adams: I have thick hair and when it gets long enough it gives me headaches. Do you think I should get tape in extensions?

Katherine Pickering: In the back how far up do you go before you stop the extensions?

Ana Barrios: Had the worst experience ever. I’m a student and a girl came into school today and wanted her hair to match her extensions, but she lied about what she had previously done to her hair. And her hair ended up breaking and falling out. I was so upset and scared about what happened.

Lexi Novak: Awesome video!! How many extensions did you use in total?

Little Bear: great job looks amazing it's not easy to cut hair extensions I even by the best hair cutters.

Enid Rohena: Wow you are amazing @ what u do.I love your work

TatiHatesEverything: If someone has super thick hair and is shoulder length, how many budges of one color should I get?

Sandra Adalgisa: I want to put in tape in extensions but I have dyed my hair in a "V" and the two colors are prevana blue and prevana pastel glue at the times. It is like an ombre and what i was wonder is if I need to get blonde tape in and dye it or purchase the ones that match my natural hair color and process is the same way I've done my hair earlier. I hope I am clear as to what I'm saying.

Maria Butler: Hi Mandy do you have a video on removing the tape ins?

Allie Presley: I was wondering is there any 30 inch tape extensions?? And how much would it be to get them out in... I have medium thin hair and it will not grow and I want the length to my hips..

TA L.: Beautiful!

Meg Simpson: so im doing tape in for the first time but only to do bright blue and teal highlights (i dyed platinum pieces and my hair is black) any suggestions on how to not see the the section under the tape

Dread Knot: Looks great! Next time angle the side ear extension pieces so that the hair comes forward into her face to help blend the front. :)

Whitney Borst: Do you have a video on how to remove and reapply them? If not can you explain? (:

ruren0811: What was the length of her extensions?

Ana R2: Oh no, she definitely needs more extensions in the front ‍♀️

Sarah Adams: Does it matter what type of hair you have to get tape in extensions?

Katherine Myers: Maybe it should have been curled and yes, she needed pieces through the top =/ check out Salon mounir

Yaima Ballester: I want this look! !!!!!!

Emma Davis: Ouchhhh no no you dont attach them right up to the scalp that bloody hurts. It also makes the tape stick out all goofy. You need at least a millimetre or 2 away from the scalp. Doing it too close to the root causes tension and breakage.

Megan Sullivan: I can't seem to find the pricing on bombshells site, How much is the hair? and how much would you recommend charging for this service

Lana Silve: I wish you had a salon in NY!

Kristina Krypyonite: Hi! I love your videos and have a question. I love my platinum blonde hair however it has turned damaged and spongy when wet. Would you recommend me doing my roots and yellowy strands with the olaplex? I don't want it to fall out but am trying to maintain the platinum.

Kristen Sosa: How do I get the wefts to where I can wear my hair in French braids with out seeing my wefts????

kayleigh taylor: How many pieces did you use for the full head? Looks great

Sofia Rios: i have really thick hair and its really frizzy and curly i always straighten it tho i need help with extentions i feel like tape ins are to thin

Tiffany !: Its pretty colors, but you can still tell that its extensions when she wears it in the front.

Annelle: I really want to get tape in hair to bring to my stylist but I like the long 22 inch hair and I have a lot of hair but not really thick strands. I was trying the laced hair but it says they only have 19.5 and I didn't know if they have other sizes that you had to contact them via email or something, I just need some hair!!

Russel Jacobs: @ThatBlondeGirl Mandie  I love your videos. I just got my new extensions. They are virgin hair. Match perfectly (level 6). But in daylight they a a tiny hint more reddish.  I want to tone them. Want to stay on the same color level just soften the red touch a bit. Please tell me which toner I should use. I just want to neutralize the red. Not completely but just soften a little. XOXO =)

Chelsy smith: Can you do a video on how you got the ends Carmel? Please.

Taytripper: Sooo love your work! Please come to Canada❤️

MXBeautyNails: What product did u use to tone her hair to that pretty caramel?

Kelley Almond: Omg too loud!! Calm down! It’s extension for God sake! BTW I had my volume all the way down!
