Placement with strand by strand extensions is critical to your believable installations. The first concept that you'll need to keep in mind is Danger Zones. Danger Zones are anywhere that those extensions can be placed where they may be in danger of being seen.

The first Danger Zone is going to be your perimeter. You'll want to stay about an inch away from the front, over the ears, and the nape.

The second area is going to be any natural part lines. So that includes any cowlicks and any parts on the top of the head. So you're going to carve off about an inch around those and clip those out of the way.

The third is going to be any forced part lines. So that means any extreme, exaggerated side parts or even a pigtail parting in the back. Again, about an inch around any of those, clip it out of the way, no extensions can go there.

The second concept you'll need to keep in mind with your strand by strand extensions is balance. Balance is incredibly important so your installations don't become mullet-y. You don't want to put too much in the back and then not balance it out on either side of the face. That's going to bring that hair in and it's going to keep that balanced from front to back.

The third concept to keep in mind is going to be your camouflage. With strand by strand installations it's incredibly important to leave at least a little bit of hair in between each bond. That's going to give you full coverage all the way around your bond and make your extensions much more believable.

If you keep these concepts in mind your strand by strand extensions will always look amazing.
