Hey i'm a justine tribe. I am here today to show you how to wear your hair to sleep with extensions, so this is really good with someone who doesn't have extensions that has really long thick hair, but it's really great for our girls, who do wear extensions to keep your extensions healthy And not get tangled while you're sleeping so first things. First, we want to make sure that our extensions are always dry and our natural hair is dry before we sleep. So the reason for that is because you really don't want any of that tangling to happen while you're sleeping and even if you were to do one of these styles wet. You still could get some tangling up at the top of your weft, while you're sleeping so make sure you're 100 dry. The next thing that you're going to do i'm going to take off this hat. So you guys can see my full hair. So the next thing that you're going to do is you're going to take the young again oil. So every single one of our extension clients should be leaving with this young again oil and what's amazing about it, is it's clear, so you don't have to worry about it, staining your extensions. I know with some other brands of oil. You really do have to worry about it, staining your natural blonde hair, as well as your extension hair. So it's really nice and light. It doesn't leave your hair, sticky or heavy feeling. It doesn't have silicone in it. So it isn't going to just close that cuticle and make your hair soft, but not do anything. It really goes in and it actually moisturizes your hair. So we want to use this at least once a day, my preferable time to use. It is right before i go to bed, so what i do is, i just take it emulsify it through my hands and then i run it through the last about three quarters of my hair. So all the way down through the ends and up around my face, i'm going to take one more little square here, do the same thing: warm it up in your hands and you're going to run it through the last three quarters of your hair, so you're hitting The ends of your natural hair, as well as all the way through your extension hair, and this helps keep your extensions longer longer so really with extensions. What we're doing is we're. We have hair that is very long and old in a way because it's grown on someone's head for a really long time, um. So now it's not getting the moisture that it needs from the scalp and it's not getting trimmed regularly like your natural hair. So actually we should be trimming this, probably every other time or every third time that you come in for a move up just to keep those uh split ends at bay, okay, but this oil will help with that. Okay, so you're making sure that you're getting it all the way through brushing is such a necessity with long hair, but with extensions, especially, you want to make sure that you're brushing with a wet brush every single day. So we recommend several times a day, just brushing through your hair, whether that's when you wake up in the morning when you're getting ready, you can do it throughout the day and then, especially before you go to bed at night and when you're using a wet brush. Like this, you really want to get in and making sure that you're brushing out the scalp and at the base of your extension hair, so don't be shy to get in there and really brush all the way to the base with a wet brush. Now you wouldn't want to do this with any other type of brush, because you do not want to ruin your extensions in the way of the bristles catching on the top of your extension hair and pulling those little hand tied hairs out of the weft. So once that happens, we cannot fix it that weft would need to be replaced, whether it's just one single weft or the whole row um so make sure that you're only doing that with a wet brush and not any other type of brush. Okay. So once you have that completely brushed out and through there's several different ways that you can wear your hair while you're sleeping so my favorite way is doing a bubble braid and the reason why i love a bubble. Braid is because it really holds your style for the following day, so that you don't have to go back and restyle everything. Sometimes i'll touch up like one or two curls here or there, but sometimes i'm just able to get up brush through my hair and go and the way that we do a bubble. Braid is we're gon na use like little silk. Scrunchies like this and we're gon na put one at the top we're gon na do one at the middle and remember guys you you're, going to sleep you're not going out like this. Don'T worry about it being perfect, you're! Just really wanting to keep all of that hair together, so that it's not able to get tangled and then one all the way at the bottom. So it usually only takes you know three bands. You can use different types of bands, it doesn't have to be a scrunchie. I just prefer these because they're really easy on the hair they're not going to damage your hair so again taking a silk scrunchie going through the top. You want to make sure that you're, encompassing the ends of your natural hair at that top portion middle and bottom. So i do this literally the last five minutes before i go into bed. So i put my oil in i brush everything really well, and then i put my hair into little bubble. Braids, like this, like i said, it's not super attractive, but it does what it's supposed to do and it'll make your life so much easier in the morning when you're getting ready for work or school, whatever you're doing for the day. So that's it. It doesn't leave little creases. Like some other bands, i really highly recommend getting these silk scrunchies um they're, just so much better for your hair than like a regular elastic band. Okay. So that is one way. Then you have like a classic braid. This is really good for someone who has naturally shorter hair and then has longer extensions, because you're going to encompass a lot more with two braids on one on each side than you would with just one braid. So you can do your two braids and then i always leave a little bit out of the ends. You don't want so much out of the ends that it will cause it to be able to tangle on the ends just a little bit at the bottom. So you don't get um little crinkles in the bottom of your hair, where it's gon na be really too small. So these do not have to be perfect. Don'T worry about the size of the braid or the size of each strand that you're doing you're not wearing this out, it's just to keep it together, while you're sleeping. So that's my second option and then your third option is to do just one single braid, and this really works for someone who has longer natural hair. Like i said, if you have shorter natural hair you're not going to be able to fit all of that into the side here in order to encompass your natural hair, with the extension hair on one side and then you're going to end up with your natural hair Kind of being all over the place, while you're sleeping and when you wake up, it's going to be a lot harder to deal with than if you were to do two braids. So if your your natural hair is longer and it's able to reach all the way to one side, one braid is fine, so you can just pull everything over split it into three and do one braid. Now a lot of our guests are like, oh well. I can't braid, what am i supposed to do? Am i can i not wear extensions, because i can't braid? No that's why we have a bubble braid. It'S super simple, super easy! You don't have to know how to braid. You don't have to be complicated with these. Okay, just keep it simple, just keep everything together so that you don't get that tangling. So just one simple braid to the side. This is really comfortable while you're sleeping too, because you can sleep on one side without having to worry about the braid being. Underneath of you, so that's an option and you can do the same thing on one side with bubble braids as well, like, i said, just making sure that you're the candidate for it um. You know making sure that your natural hair is long enough to fit in that top sectioning okay, so that is our bubble braid for one side. So basically, we are just keeping everything intact. Everything tight guys. You just want to make sure that it's not getting tangled while you sleep and it's preserving your style. So in the morning you should be able to just get up brush through, like i said you might have to hit it with a couple extra curls in the morning. Just usually what i would do is just like right around my face, and maybe one right here and here and i would be good to go off to the salon ready to go to work. So that is our tutorial on how to make sure that your hair is staying really nice, while you're sleeping and make it a little bit easier in the morning for your style. So you don't have to restyle everything. If you have any questions, make sure that you comment below and we'll make sure that we get back to you as soon as we can on any questions. ferdinand aulia: So I’m a guy considering getting extensions, my hair is wavy and is mid chest length. I like the surfer/beachy look so I normally wash my hair and do the braids normally. Otherwise I have an Afro in the am. Can I do the same with extensions. I always let my hair air dry because I don’t want it to look “done”
