4 Ways to Tame Baby Hairs

1. Use a Toothbrush

The first method to tame baby hairs involves using a toothbrush. Any clean, cheap and cheerful toothbrush will do the trick. Take some hairspray or dry shampoo and gently spray your baby hairs. Then, use your toothbrush to brush through and flatten them. You can also spray some product onto your toothbrush for extra hold. The hairspray will help to control your fly-aways, and your toothbrush will ensure that every wispy strand of hair is covered.

Top Tip: You can also use a spooly from an old makeup product, like mascara or eyebrow gel, in place of a toothbrush. Just make sure to clean the spooly thoroughly before use. Also, if you clean out the bottle, you can keep your baby hair tool clean and handy when on-the-go.

2. Apply Styling Products

Another great method for how to tame baby hairs includes using some styling products. We recommend using a styling gel as these are formulated to hold your hair in place and are easy to use.

Take a small amount of product, spread it on your fingers and apply it to your baby hairs. The product will enable you to flatten your wispy flyaways against your scalp and forehead.

And, remember, less is more! Start with a small amount of product, and gradually build up if necessary. You don’t want to end up with an excess amount of gel as this could feel uncomfortable and greasy underneath your wig.

Heat-styling isn’t something we’d recommend for everyday use because it can damage your hair and make it more challenging for your baby hairs to grow out. However, sometimes it’s the most efficient and convenient way to tame baby hairs.

To flatten your fly-aways, first, spray your hair with a heat protectant spray. Then, use your straighteners to tame the hairs, straightening them towards your face carefully. If you can, reduce the temperature of your straighteners to their lowest setting for added protection; this is because your baby hairs are thinner and more fragile than the rest of your locks.

Top Tip: If you want to make life a little bit easier, you could look to invest in some mini straighteners. These straighteners are about the size of your hand and are a lot easier to control when using around your hairline.

4. Use a Clear Mascara

Another neat tip for how to tame baby hairs quickly and easily is to use a clear mascara. The mascara wand is ideal for catching every wispy strand of baby hair and the gel-like formula of mascara is effective at flattening and holding the hairs in place.
