Title: I Knew a Guy by Kevin MacLeod

Genre and Mood: Jazz & Blues + Dark

You suck at hair care. What are you doing over here? Welcome back to the channel, I'm your host fashion, elitist AKA, JQ and today we're going to be talking about why you suck at hair care or hair maintenance, we're going to be going over shampoos, conditioners tips and tricks how to have more luscious locks. Luscious Hair, like my hair, you know my hair is the blueprint of beauty and sexiness and being the best in the game, I'm not only a fashion elitist. I am also a hair elitist. I also have a diploma and my doctorate in hair care and I'm the only person you should be listening to when it comes to Erica, because look at my hair looks great, but before we start, let's go to hair 360.. Hopefully I didn't look stupid in any of those angles. The one thing I do want to emphasize is your hair really depends on your ethnicity. If you have ethnic, hair, you're gon na have a little bit of a different hair type hair texture than someone who's white or someone who's black. Let'S get into the first step of the video you shampoo, your hair too frequently. This is something that blows my mind. Whenever I hear anyone talk about how much they shampoo their hair people ask me: how much do I shampoo my hair? I will give you the answer very soon, but you should not be shampooing your hair every day. That is the worst thing you could do. Think of your hair or your scalp, like your skin, if you uh wash your face too often, you are going to produce a lot of oils because your skin is trying to compromise for all the stripping of your natural oils that are happening when you do shampoo. Your hair, so the first thing you want to do is limit how much you shampoo your hair. Now it really depends on if you have thick or thin hair, but when we're talking about Hair Care, think of it as every time you shampoo, you are getting rid of your natural oils and also all the gunk and debris, and also old, hair product that you Have in your hair, it is good to shampoo, maybe once a week depending on your hair type, and it really depends on if you have like really dry hair, where it needs a lot of moisture. So the oils just help kind of like keep it in Lock and give put that healthy, shine. It'S looking for, but if your hair is not very dry, but it does produce a lot of oils. The main reason is probably because you're over shampooing getting rid of all the natural oils in your hair, stop doing it now immediately now the main tip, if you're, trying to lean off of shampooing every day, because that's like what your hair has gotten so used to. It'S like an alcohol addiction with your hair. Your hair gets so used to like it being constantly shampooed. It will take a little bit of time to kind of just revert back to its normal, like range of oils, so you're going to try and do this you're going to take one day off from shampooing one day. So that means you're going to keep shampooing. But you're gon na take one day off then the next week you're gon na do two days off then the next week, three and then so on and so forth. You get it right. So from there your hair is going to get a little bit used to you, not shampooing it. So often now, if you have thinner hair types, it's recommended to do it three times a week. I know, depending on how you want to spread it out, but usually with thinner hair types. Three days a week is best for you, so if you're doing it every day, try and lean it down down to at least three days a week. Allow your hair to kind of like get used to it. Now, if you have thicker hair types like myself, I shampoo once every three weeks, sometimes a month, sometimes every two weeks. It really depends on how I'm feeling, if I want to shampoo my hair, doesn't get that oily, so it really depends. I don't need to do it. My hair is very dry, so it needs the oils. But if you have thicker hair, it's recommended to at least shampoo once every two weeks or twice every two weeks. So it really depends on you and, like your hair, you'll understand your hair a little bit more as time progresses and as you get out of that whole habitual thing of shampooing, your hair and just taking out the natural oils you may get curled before I learned Hair Care, my hair used to be when I was younger. It was Fluffy, but it didn't curl like this. It didn't do the wave. You know it didn't have that flow. That'S going on right now as soon as I stop shampooing and letting my hair kind of like take a break, it went back to its natural state, which is this nice curly, textured flu feed voluminous hair type that I have currently, I'm not entirely sure what to Call it, but this was not how I used to look well that ended for the first tip. So let's move on to the next hair tip that I can really give you you don't shampoo every day. Does that mean you don't shower? No, I shower. I I smell after I come from the gym. I just co-wash. Co-Washing is your best friend and it's going to be now. This really depends on your hair type I co-wash every day and what is the definition of co-washing co-wash means you use conditioner when you wash your hair but put an article I'll put something up here. What co-washing really does, but you really co-wash, depending on how much your hair type needs, there's two types of conditioners: there's light conditioners and there's very heavy conditioners, and if you are on the thinner side, I don't recommend going with the thick conditioner. I heavily recommend going in with the light conditioners and using that every day with my thicker hair friends, you're going to want to use maybe something a bit thicker in terms of the conditioning. Now again that depends on your hair type. Maybe your hair isn't as dry as mine, and you don't really need a lot of nourishment then that lighter conditioner is going to be your best friend for the time being. Those thicker conditioners, work really good for me and my hair loves me for it just go to Sephora, ask the the people what they might recommend and I'm sure they'll point you in a good direction, but you can always try the stuff I recommend later in the Video, when I'm talking about hair products that I use for my hair and that I've used in the past, you could try those out and if those don't work for you, then you have to go down your own Road alone. Unfortunately, so on to the next thing, and now I know everyone's been dying to know about what hair products I use, because that's the thing people want to try and get the hair. Look that I have volume the lusciousness watch me go bald. So let's talk about shampoos, so at the moment I'm using these two conditioners. I haven't used this one, the purple one. Yet I've used I've been using the L'Oreal one. I think I've been using this conditioner and it's worked really well. The lady at Sephora was telling me it's really nourishing it conditions really well, and it's really thick and she wasn't lying. My hair enjoys it, it loves it and I'm going to keep using it, but I do have another product that I haven't yet used, but I don't really know how it works or if my hair even likes it at all, so I'm going to have to test That out in terms of shampoo, I use owe it and I use it very sparingly so that price tag isn't that bad. Since I don't really shampoo, often if you're going to be an average day, Joe with shampooing every day, I probably don't recommend grabbing the this shampoo. Unless you have have the money, if you have the money to buy this buy by all means, there's no parabens. There'S no sulfates, there's no essential oils in it. Um from what I'm aware of it depends on the product, I believe as long as there's no parabens and sulfates in it. I think you'll be like safe, but don't get too finicky with it. It'S it's not that complicated! You just got ta find the right shampoo for you overall your needs and what it wants. Uh. I don't recommend using Head and Shoulders it's terrible for dandruff and stuff. It actually leads to getting more dandruff. There'S actually been a lot of Articles proving that it causes more dandruff because of the Reliance your hair develops to it and it's just overly stripping, and you don't want that some more affordable conditioners. I mean, if you can't afford what I was mentioning. I used to use shea moisture and I know a lot of people very much stand by shea moisture. I'Ve used their styling cream, I've used their coconut spray, I've used their shampoos and their conditioners, and I will say my hair also loved it a lot so far from what I've been using. Currently, my hair seems to really react well to it and I think it reacted a little bit better than shea moisture. But I know always like my top dog in terms of shampooing and conditioners, that I would use to be honest besides shea moisture, so shea moisture and oh, where are the two shampoo companies that I I would say I stand behind or in front of those? Are the two ones I will live and die by? They are great for your hair. Now, let's talk about styling products, my top best thing that I've used in my hair is going to be Colton, King reverie and last but not least, shea moisture. Also, I use the argan oil from pattern. I use their Argan Oil, sometimes I'll, throw it in my hair because it wants it. After usually, a shampoo I'll put some oils in it again. This is only for your thicker hair folk trust me thinner, hair people. You do not want any oils in your hair trust me. I do want to heavily emphasize this. If you're blow drying your hair get a heat protectant, please, your hair gets heat damaged. Like it's a thing, I usually let my hair air dry um for the most part, but since it's so long now, I kind of sometimes will blow dry, sometimes, but so far. That is the styling hair products that I have used in the past. Now, on to the next tip, if you guys ever use sea salt spray, I recommend oh way. This is what I use on my hair, but if you ever use sea salt spray, Don't Spray it directly in your hair spray. It in your hand, so I'll do like two pumps and you just let it emulsify in your hands and it allows you to have more control of where it goes in your hair. And what this will do is it just adds texture and some hold, and I only like doing it when I have shorter hair because with longer hair, my hair seems to like tangle more but and that's just my recommendation, if you're ever using sea salt spray, there's A bunch of other sea salt sea salt sprays to get but and be using it today archive Meetup, Grail stinky. Today'S mission is touching grass. That'S Zeitgeist archive sale. You should fit check me. That'S how you know you're at an archive place when everyone's in all block. I got the sick Disney adult hoodie. You can see the aggression on his forehead. It'S it's OG like look at this. Oh yeah. The tag is how much 6.95 plus tax number nine ready. I really like it because it's super long and I don't have too many hoodies the actual fabric is really thick, so it's gon na be good for, like all time winter time number nine. I liked it because it was distressed but also delicate at the same time. So it has that hard soft feeling and it was about like 3.95, but like the piece actually does kind of match, I got more perfume. I got this piece which is called taroni by this perfume brand. I didn't pay tax on it because I just venmoed the guy 75. It was apparently a personal gift to him by the perfumer. It smells like Earth and really good all right. This is a yogi sweater. I think it was like 200 bucks. This is some sort of like 80s vintage, Japanese, trousers, they're cool, probably like 200 bucks. I forget uh and a millimeters. You know tried and true, probably like 600, but then the back my beautiful whale. His name is kuji, probably like. Oh, it is a whale yeah. He'Ll like open it up, where is that from uh it's by okay? That'S so cute 200 bucks, it's the magic numbers are creepers they're only like 100 bucks yeah. These are TKS. These pants are Yoji Grand wise they're about 500 600, I'm wearing a poor home. The OG shirt this was 800. I had a nice jacket, it's from flamung, it's a Japanese brand. It was about 250 300 bucks. It was too much and then this bag is a technophobe and turntable lab a collaboration. This bag was 100. assorted Rings. This is from this website called Gothic and they're about, like 10 bucks, a pop, and then this ring is a Vivian Westwood ring yeah. It'S like 400 bucks yeah. It'S like a 400 ring, yeah sterling silver wow. Oh me, yeah, let's go sure uh. This is a selfie dress, it was like 300 bucks. This is Sister Jane. I think it was around. Like 150 uh opening ceremony bag 100 bucks. I can't remember and uh my boots are jonak and they were like 115. yeah. This is kindness and the earrings too. These are pretty cheap they're, like 50 bucks each. Maybe I thought they were more yeah right. They would have been more yeah a beret I found in New Orleans in like some random hard shots, yeah yeah. What are you wearing? This is my my outfit breakdown. We'Ve got the camper lab uh shoes, okay. Well, I got them from Nordstrom Rack, but they're like originally, I think 200 dollars and then these are the easy. Easy beats pants layered on top of a Yoji skirt, shout out Bailey, and then I've got a co-op dress. Layered, on top with this little Frills, and then this is vintage. This is a vintage coat that I got for twelve dollars back in LA and then a vintage leather bag that I got from eBay, probably okay, well, the pants I spent 100 on them second hand. These I got fifty dollars this. I got for fifty dollars, probably like 200. Oh no, with the shoes like 400. 400 for this fit. What are you ready? No, I would say, like yeah, headed to the city, to go to this Yoji sample sale and they have some crazy steals from what I was looking at on the list. But we'll see if it's good or not, and I'm going right now on the train and then we'll head over there, but I'm going hella early. It'S like 4am, I'm in the city right now, and it's currently 5 a.m and I'm meeting up with Kay at Washington Square Park. There'S is now we got ta walk to Soho. I got a lot of stuff. I just because the thing is it's like a lot of main line, so I got tops, I got pants, see mostly bought pants were awesome yeah, it was the main line. It has all some embroidery, it's like loose thread. Actually, I don't even think that's embroidery. I think it's just stitching with really thick thread and they're, just keeping it Loose. How much was that this was cheap man. I think, let's see most of the bottoms on here. It was like two nothing over three actually everything's like 200 to 100.. That'S like nothing! This is like a Navy with a leather yeah leather strip going down the middle. It'S like finished really nicely too. Oh yeah. I just got a Consulting check in the mail yeah. Well, I have a brand, so I only got five hours of sleep. I will be doing a pickups video later with the stuff that I actually picked up from this um. So I'm not gon na show this in this video, but I'm really tired, I'm really tired, so uh, but I'll, let JQ day number whatever handle the end of this video. So, let's pan to him already so we're back. It is day um, something I think it's day five, but the one thing I forgot to mention was when you're showering uh. The best thing to do is showering cold cold water. Is your best friend going hot? Isn'T the best? It'S always recommended to go like with more colder water, and that's just what I do best piece of advice I could do is start warm and then slowly go to cold water, and then your body will get used to it versus just hopping in when it's really Cold and just try and get used to washing your hair in cold water in your body. It'S way better for you in general. The other thing that I wanted to mention too, as well, was um. When you get your hair cut, it's pretty simple, just layering texturing. That'S all you need to do if you want things to be thinned out or you're, asking your hair stylist for recommendation, for maybe I want more volume in the front. They might recommend thinning it out, and that might be your best case scenario. If you really need it, but if you have thin hair already, then you don't really need that. If you have thicker hair like myself, you might need it quite possibly, but it's always recommended to get the top layered so that it has that Foundation to grow in because then my hair will grow in like this and it'll look good, okay, uh, but that that's Gon na be it for today's video, I hope you enjoyed my hair video and I hope you enjoyed the content that I provided. I did a little Vlog. I hope you like that, if you like the Vlogs that I did today, uh leave your feedback in the comment section below, because if you like that I'll continue doing it in, like the midsection of my videos, I feel like that's kind of a good place to Just kind of relax - and you know whatever, but with that see you in the next one remember to subscribe to this YouTube Channel, please I'm very Niche. I need not to be gate kept all right. I need not to be get kept. Please don't get kept me.

Rose Morris: just a couple notes for hair newbies: Oil is not the same as moisture! you can use a topical oil like jojoba or argan oil on your hair, but this is not inherently moisturizing - it does add shine and is an emollient that can assist with detangling, definition, etc, but oil repels water. ideally you want to use this to "lock in" moisture

Alex Crossley: $800 for a plain black shirt is clinical insanity

Mexican.cereal: I am mexican and 2years ago when I started taking care of my hair (shampooing once a week cowashing and such) my hair went from straight, to hella curly and now I love my curls

Lauren Blanc: Hot take: I see lots of content for thick, especially curly hair but BARELY See content for fine, limp hair and if I do see content on it, the creator assumes that fine hair =not having high density hair, or a high number of strands on your head. That’s thin hair, NOT fine hair. Fine hair is the width/circumference of the individual strand. I have A LOT of fine, oily hair. I’d just like to see more content on it that’s all. Feel free to lmk any creators that have a lot of fine hair. :-))

jinggu: when they mentioned the prices when they were getting fit-checked i almost had a breakdown how do they earn that much money for clothes...

LaPlantaMichay: as an outsider to fashion i'm absolutely FLABBERGASTED to the prices of some clothes like what the fuck, $200 for a shirt??? what??? i don't think my whole closet is worth more than $200 how do they even afford it

Shin Atsuji: Hair care is not always rainbows and sunshine if you have underlying medical conditions linked to it. My scalp is so oily that I can't skip shampoo even just for a day as gunk starts to build up immediately, with my oily scalp i developed seborrheic dermatitis a severe case of dandruff. With my constant struggles of finding the right balance, I found out that anti-dandruff conditioners exist which is a godsend. Constant use of anti dandruff shampoo ruins hair, its nice to have a conditioner that won't activate my underlying seborrheic dermatitis.

S H A Y L A.: I accidentally received your haircut when I asked for something else but then I found you you’ve been my saving grace into loving it and I’ve been living in Japan and you’ve helped me discover Japanese fashion brands ❤

Isaiah Gil: I genuinely believe he is wearing a wig.. no way hair can be that voluptuous

TalkingCheeseBurgerr: All the products you recommended are great for thick voluminous hair even if there is a curl pattern but if that isn't your hair type do not be surprised if those products do not work for you. Personally as a hair stylist I'd recommend R+Co products for thinner, straighter/loose wavy hair types. The products are light enough and you do not need to use a lot of it often. The price is high but it lasts a long time. They are color and keratin safe too.

ComaLies225: I’m a curly person (mostly 3A with some 3B and a little 2C) and finding what hair products that work for you is a trial and error type thing. I suggest finding sample bottles as to not spend so much money in the event it doesn’t work for you. I also stand by your heat protectant stance and showering with cold water.

Frivolous Trivia: The vlogging part is actually fun. It breaks the flow of things into something normal. Cos during conversations with you I do have to be attentive n all. Vlogging makes it fun. Kinda like the professor who is actually fun and make jokes in between.

djbabyboi: This guy is proof that normal looking guys can become hot asf because of their hair

Syazana Mansur: it's so easy to tell people to wash their hair less but my scalp is oily n gets greasy so quick + i live in a tropical country that's hot as balls. to not wash my hair is to embarrass my ancestors n look like an unwashed mess to everyone else :///

Christian Cruz: I need more content like this. I really enjoyed how you first gave advice then transitioned into a mini vlog. Beautifully edited too, mannnn, great content

Latifx3: Those thrift prices have me dead. I get upset if I spend more than 10$ on an item though. Best find for me was a $65 Versace leather wallet. Best pass down was my mother's authentic 90's denim Looney Tunes Melody bomber jacket. I don't really care for Looney Tunes myself, but the memories make it priceless. Thrifting to me is so much fun, like looking for buried treasure ☺️

EveryPixelCounts: Yeah, I tried "NoPoo" which is not using shampoo. I slowly leaned into years ago, but after I started to grow my hair out it started to feel gross. I think the water in my house has gotten harder over the years. So, short of paying for a water filtration system, I'm kinda stuck. And about that vlog, I hate how much emphasis people put on the price of clothes. You should like a piece for what it is, not what it costs. If it's costs a fortune but it means nothing, then what was the point? I think that quality is important, but most expensive clothes are poor quality these days. I don't get buying expensive clothes for validation.

Helle Larsen: I think when it comes to hair and skin care, it is good to hear advice from other people, but the most important part is knowing your own skin, and focus on that. I have combination skin, so my "T-Zone" which includes the scalp is more on the oily side than the rest of my skin. I wash my hair every other day, and when I redye it I tend to wait 72 hours the first month. For me if I wait longer my hair gets really bad, because my scalp is naturally and genetically more oily. If I had normal skin I wouldn't need to care the same way for my skin as I have to do now. For hair I think the best thing to do is to share your hair history with your local hairdresser and get advice on what works best for you. People have told me all life that I wash my hair too often, but my hair dresser thinks otherwise. It is more about washing your hair correctly with the right product for you, so you can wash it a bit less often, than the fact that you wash it a lot. If you wash it wrongly, your hair wont be fully clean, and if you use the wrong product, your scalp is not gonna be happy.

Olivia Dobry: OK last person you fit checked had the best outfit according to my personal taste and they also had a lot of really great affordable secondhand pieces! We stan

Amanda J. Esquibel: As a current employee of sephora, a lot of the time there’s a lot of overpriced products. There’s a lot of affordable options at target, ulta, sally beauty & even Walmart. That can do the same if not better than many of the overpriced products sometimes. Depending on what your hair needs.

Ashraf Ramadhan: My Notes--- - dont overshampoo, take a few days off shampooing too often, 3x days a week, or 1x two weeks - cowash instead; use conditioner instead of shampoo, use light conditioner if thin hair, thick condish for thick hair - recommended by FE, redken all soft conditioner, JVN nurture conditioner, shampoo used: oway shampoo, sparingly used. Shea moisture. Colton king, reverie. Argan oil (pattern), get heat protector for hairdryer. Sea salt spray. - Use cold water, start warm to cold, haircut layering texturing. Get top layered. Personally, dont stress too much, not just ab the above but day to day life, eat your meat, veg, fruit, nuts, etc . supplement where and when needed. Have adequate sleep and have good fitness. Thanks for reading my notes!

klamore10: As an aging man, my hair isnt as thick as it once was so i have to shampoo every day. If i let oil build up, it exposes the thinner areas where as if i shampoo daily, it volumizes and you cant tell at all that it is thinning.

Aidan the Bozo: Tbh whenever I shampoo it always makes my hair look luscious and it brings out all the colours in my hair so I like it. (Strips of yellow, brown and red). I don't really need anything else for it to look good

Weffrey: Hi, yes I agree with most of what you say, but I have been using head and shoulders for about 8-10 years and my hair/scalp has never/rarely gotten dandruff, nor has it experienced anything bad. My hair is soft and has lots of volume/is natural. I was told by a trichologist that my hair and scalp are in pretty good condition and that I shouldn't make any major changes to my shampooing routine (I use Head and Shoulders and use some random conditioner every 2-3 days). I guess that's how my hair and scalp works, yours might be different and others might be different. I used to shampoo every 2 weeks and my hair was a horrible mess, it was dry and broken, and when I started shampooing every 2-3 days a week it got much better and unfolded its natural shape and form.

WCRQ_DRIFT: Regarding the head and shoulders comment and how they contribute to dandruff, I found that their clinical anti dandruff shampoo permanently removed my dandruff. So yeah.

NIGHTMR: im so glad i was raised to spend my money on cheaper clothes theyre being robbed of 3 figures for the plainest stuff

L30N M: One thing I'd just want to add for those interested in deeper info on hair care related videos, can't help but recommend guys like "Trav White" and Jesse's barbershop" for more science/information based long form dedicated hair care content. As well if like me you have facial hair, "beard brand" is a must to just structure your beard/moustache routine. With that said, this is such a great video on the basics of hair care. Really condensing what most people really ought to know without the complexity of the greater iceberg.

goncalo: im trying to get into hair, i buzzed mine like 7 months ago so i can actually take care of it, you been helping me a lot

Ricky Raihan: Dandruff is my greatest enemy.

Nigerian Prince: For such a clickbait title + intro I was expecting something more informative and comprehensive. I liked the recommendations but a lot of this information is very baseline stuff. Also those prices are bull. You can find similar pieces in goodwill outlets.

Zenosyne: I have recently been using products from a company called Viori, and boy as an average joe who didn't have any knowledge about hair care until 1-2 years ago it's a game changer for me. You should give them a try.

Jonini: I have thick Asian hair and my parents keep thinking I'm being a dirty btch when I say I shampoo once every two weeks lmao

gildedpeahen: That shea moisture white spray is so amazing and smells so good you literally don’t need perfume

André Inoue: Does length impact how you should treat your hair like thickness does? Also, do you have any tips for "asian" hair?

A83: shampooing your hair everyday is fine if your scalp and hair type can handle it. although there are more people where shampooing everyday does more damage than doing it every other day. is also depends the weather and humidity where you live! (cold and drier climates doesnt require as much cleansing as opposed to hot and humid climates)

tobin jordan: What a different kind of life! I can’t imagine investing the money in clothes! It’s like art! Really cool

Hillary Courchaine: I grew up like a gen x and growing up in a small town I was bullied alot for not having the latest trends of clothes most were hand me downs. I never cared about fashion back then , fast forward when I turned 17 I started to really get into punk and alternative fashion and I've always loved jeans ,plaid shirts , and trucker hats. The bottom line is that always appreciate yourself and others and never judge someone on how they dress or how long their hair is.

Amarazo: god ok, I was in love with my hair after years of struggling. decided to go for a haircut. stylist thinned out my hair without me asking (and me not being able to realize that’s what she was doing). I can’t get rid of the fucking amount of oil covering it now that it’s so thin. it’s hurting my self esteem massively and nothing I’ve tried is helping LMAO. was just in the middle of trying to look more things up after months of trying

j: My hair care is just not using shampoo ever. Makes my hair look oily after one or two days of not showering, but everything else is just Elite about it. My hair feels way smoother and fuller. Also rocking the Wolf cut btw. And I’ve found it to be quite good for that haircut :) Edit: needles to say, I don’t use any other hair products, so it might be easier said than done for most people

AY0.N1T0: Something that isn’t talked about with men thank you

Cam Apel: Great video jq, low key been waiting on this one. So much hair care stuff online is just overly confusing but you explained it in a way that made sense. I know I’m terrible to my hair and hearing the weening off shampoo strategy is probably the best way to go about it. I also never understood how people could not shampoo their hair but bringing up co washing made me get it, mine gets so greasy but it’s literally off of its dependency on shampoo. To better hair,

Rosie: JVN gave me hope for my hair I was seriously about to give up on my hair and like shave it all off LOL, but their products give me the perfect amount of volume and moisture without weighing down my fine hair!!! + their eco friendly!

Cartier231: To be honest everyone has a different and unique hair and what works for me will not work with you and what works for you might not works for me so it's depend on your ethnicity

adoniis: massively helping me out rn, ive got asian hair and its gets rly bad but thanks for the tutorial<3

fmat a0p qrz tf'zl x1slop: Underrated video seeing as how many tips and tricks videos there are on youtube that don’t teach us the fundamental stuff like this. It's usually just do this and do this or buy this product to do this, but some products don't work for reasons never explained, to which ppl. say it's just your hair type, but in those videos, its never explained what works for your hair and why. Too many videos saying the same generic thing. Loving your content right now! I've always thought of co washing as more of a trend and just an “in thing.” You explained cowashing well and made me feel the need for it in my hair care rather than having cowashing feel like this challenge ill endure for a couple weeks. Actually new, original, and valuable content. Love it man. Like the humour in the videos and the information. But i also got a problem with my weirdly dry and oily skin as a man that the other youtube videos dont help with that sadly. Could we get a new episode into skincare fine sir?

Dr. Lock: With a few more of these style videos, I will be able to turn myself into a perfect clone of JQ a.k.a. the peak male physique

Noora Sakhri: I also recommend to weekly washers that still get oily hair quickly even after using dry shampoo to start using a detox shampoo once every one to two weeks depending on the detox shampoo your using and your hair type.

Luke Gregory: Love these sorts of videos man, can't wait for more!

unbothered kai: tips for people with oily scalp but dry ends like mine! I recommend shampooing twice! My routine is shampoo (to remove the grease) condition my ends (just the middle of my hair to my ends) then shampoo again to completely clean my whole hair. I realize this helps me condition my hair while also keeping it from being oily immediately. I also like hair masks, hair oils for the ends (if you use heat or have drier hair) and I also use scalp massagers. For my shampoo routine, Doctors recommend that I shampoo in a linear direction NOT in circles as it can lead to more breakage and hair fall. Start from the front to the back of the head near the shoulders. From out to the middle of the head, I also linear wash the top of my head for extra cleanse. Hope this helps!

Rem Remm: I feel like people with thicker hair can get away with not washing their hair as often. I have thin, fine hair, and tried going no poo for 3 years. Didn't work well, always looked greasy. Ugh.

Senpai Suspicious: I got a question for any hair enthusiasts. My hair goes curly at the front and dead straight at the back. What should I do in terms of shampoos and conditioners or really anything that comes to hair care?

Jew: You have my exact hair type as well so this helps. Thank you

Stray Orion: Since I have to deal with having head and shoulders shampoo in my house, the solution I developed is that I bought coconut oil and use it for my hair before washing as a protective layer of sorts, I put it in my hair until I feel it's very saturated from the ends to the scalp with oil and then I let it rest for 20-30 minutes, like a hair mask, then I shampoo as I usually do trying to use as little as posible

Iceechibi: Note that you cannot actually train your hair to stop producing so much oil. A lot of people unless you have super curly or coily hair, need to be washing at least twice a week. Once a week for most white/european genetics need more frequent washing as we’re prone to dandruff and seb derm easily.

Qwapa: Love the vlog portion! I love everything JQ

💜 Gabi 💜: i love your tips, but im afraid i cant afford most of the items you recommended i literally teared up at the fit checks holyyyy cow how do you afford that????

Reem: hmmm I'm conflicted, my own doctor and a recent video I saw both stated that the whole "getting your hair used to not getting shampooed" is an utter myth. I'll find the video and link it, but yeah someone stating such a concept with zero scientific evidence and rather using general analogies to further solidify confirmation bias is not it for me. people still believe that the entirety of scalp hair needs nutrition like all living cells, thanks to perpetuating hair myths similar to this.

Breeze Do Art: I normally wasn't concerned about my hair but 3 months ago it started falling off and now I'm in chaos.

ChesireSays🔮: I highly recommend Twist products even if you don’t have curly hair. My favorite is the Strengthen the Bond hair mask, it basically prevents damage. If you have straight or wavy hair I highly recommend using a leave in and then a light oil/serum. If you have curly or wavy hair I highly recommend watching Manes by Mell YouTube Chanel.

lvl1noobie: I have a small question about co washing, can you also use different products like sea salt spray etc afterwards or is it recommended to only use these when actually washing it with shampoo?

Tatakae: I have the same hair as you lol It curls in that way exactly whenever I don’t wash my hair for a week or two so imma believe you for my haircare :)

Lance A: This is a great channel keep up the good work

Creampuff: Let me tell you, I've searched far and wide for someone who had similar hair to mine. I would find variations that were close but not exact. I may be exaggerating a bit- but i believe that I have found my go to hair guru. My hair twin I've been struggling with styling it and maintaining moisture, so im glad I came across your channel! Thank you for existing

MinaChristina: ok the hair tips are so on point but i swear the fit check prices are so insane I'm about to inflict violence

ChekardoYT: Pls more of hair tips. I myself have a thick hair and im trying to grow my hair but its a hard one for me. This tips will def help me

XxWallzxX: I need to grow my hair one day. I would have to be searching everywhere on hair care. That is when I start to.

lvl1noobie: YOOO informative vid as usual! rly feel like the production quality is improving with every vid

Arthur Wawrzyniak: Hey JQ! Love the videos, how do you go about washing your hair without shampoo? Do you immediately scrub with the light conditioner or do a rinse first?

that's kums: Washing your hair actually doesn't affect the sebum of your scalp at all. The sebum production stays the same and for people who have dandruff/ a flaky scalp or for people who have a really oily scalp, trying to 'train your scalp' to produce less sebum is not going to be effective. So, wash your hair as much as you want. It really doesn't matter.

Sophia Ji-Yun: I’ve always had fine hair, definitely not thin I have a lot of hair but it’s been pretty fine since I can remember. As I got older with puberty and such I developed really bad dandruff. I’m Korean and also have super super straight hair that doesn’t hold curls almost at all. For awhile I tried the dandruff shampoos and they had minimal result. It would get rid of some but not a lot. Over the past year as I’ve been taking care of myself more, trying a bunch of skincare, I’ve also gotten into hair care! One of the first things I tried out was glycolic acid and I’ve been using it once a week ever since. It always makes my scalp feel clean and gives my hair so much shine. I also started using a scalp massager to really get my products into my scalp. For the past few months I’ve been using the dae monsoon moisture shampoo and conditioner since although my hair is very oily, it usually feels way too dry with other shampoos and this has been working well for my hair. I’ve also recently started using Moroccan oil on my mids and ends to lock in moisture since those parts of my hair are the ones that can feel very corse and dry and it’s been life changing. Briogeo has been my best friend recently as well. Their charcoal scalp mask is so nice and the charcoal scalp serum has really been helping with my dandruff and oily scalp. The last product I’ve been using is the Ouai leave in conditioner and wow my hair is so soft after. I alternate some of these products and only shower once every 3 days ish sometimes every 2 depending on my oil build up.

Lucardini: So what would you recommend as an anti-dandruf shampoo instead of Head and Shoulders?

Terratenientes algo: i wonder how expensive my outfit would be if i started buying straight from the store instead of buying second hand and flea market, i dont think i would have even 3 outfits to alternate.

Chev: I cant describe how much I love you for this vid

Jonathan7: i have the exact same hair type as you so you made me decide to grow it out bc that hair is badass

bruh: protip: skill all of this stuff and just put raw eggs in your hair in a cold shower. the egg yolks stimulate VEGF production and human hair follicle dermal papilla cell growth. mix in essential oils if the smell is too bad. remember that chickens grow hair in the egg- it contains all the nutrients they need to grow it.

Breezon: I’m trying to grow my hair out longer, something sort of like the typical tiktoker flow hairstyle. Does anyone have any tips, as well as what length i should start my hair at for the sides and top. I ask this mainly because, the last time i grew my hair out, i kept getting the sides way to short and the top very long. It ended up making my hair look very thin and just the opposite of what i was hoping for. Sorry if this is too long, but any advice would be appreciated.

Maria Jose Arboleda Rizo-Patron: have you tried maui? I love the blue one for dry hair, the ingredients are

Gui_Leminho: A cabeça so a podridão kkkk Meu eu moro em Cuiabá lavar o cabelo de 4 em 4 dias no MÍNIMO é extremamente necessário pra mim.

thymaddog: I’m just trying to find some for scalp since it likes getting dry and I used head and shoulder since it works but hearing this stuff wants me to find out if there’s any other products

Estrella Guther: Waaaaaa sus estilos son geniales. Love It <3

Lo Ovung: "you shampoo your hair too frequently." Closes the video.. Oil training is a scam

oxy: Recently found your channel. Love your videos.

PhantomHalf: My god “watch me go bald” is my greatest fear

Coconut Oil: My hair genetics makes all the teachers mald and seethe because of how thick and fast it grows after they force me to get a haircut. Eitherway, what a shietty policy in schools that are still being implimented to this day :///.

edoe oi: if you're watching this & you have fine hair, follow all the tips in the video but try Kristin Ess products! I use their co-wash & conditioning mask, both in the signature line. Low to medium price point & accessible. Redken all soft products (mentioned in the video) are also a good option for fine hair, in my experience

jae lynn: i weaned down the shampoo years ago and my hair doesn't get oily until about day 6 or 7, so i shampoo at most 4 times a month. my hair went from a 2A to a 2C and i stopped getting dandruff and scalp acne. can't afford that many products so cold water, protective hair styles, proper moisture r super important!

matua: i know you briefly talked about not using head and shoulders for dandruff, but it wouldve been nice if you recommended products for getting rid of it !

Anatol: So the "Sea Salt Spray" is just about people flexing their money being like oh this cheap looking dress was maybe uhhh, idk maybe 350$? I don't really care~~

Schy: Thoughts on leave-in conditioner? And should I be using it as frequently as a normal one? It's my only conditioner I use (I actually dont know if thats good or not lol) and I only use it twice a week

Luis Martinez: Damn, what's it feel like to have hair equally as lushous as mine with more effort L+ ratio+ LOBSTA

LightskinGod Nate: I’ve seen a guy in tiktok who quit shampooing completely. What is your thoughts on that? :)

Jafrii: Thank you Mr Hair Elitist for this spectacular video.

KingZakkuu: I’m scared to co-wash cause my hair gets easily oily.

Caribbean Babooshka: what do you recommend washing schedule for someone who sweats a lot (both for work and exercise) and has a buzzcut? I feel like I breakout if I don't wash my scalp after exercising like I would if I didn't wash my face.

Bubby Mustard: My thing is that the moment I feel and see a bit of oiliness(2 days after I wash it) I feel dirty and I wash it. My hair was thick and wavy when it was long and not dyed but after I cut it short and dyed it it has thinned and the oiliness is visible. If anyone read this thx for enduring my rant.

Sara Fernández: 7:00 - klorane solid shampoo and conditioner for medium & thin hair are great and affordable

tyvert: shea moisture has had a recent ingredient change, there is a whole "curly girl" subreddit saying its making their hair fallout and it did the same for me.. just a warning, it can work better for some then others. really recommend the redken all soft

boombuffoon: I was watching the vlog part and I was wondering- what do your friends do for a living? I'm a highschooler that's not sure what they want to do in college, and I'm curious about their jobs because of how expensive their clothes were. (Sorry if this is invasive)

Natalia: Your hair is pretty shiny and the waves--- nice.

I. D.: I believe you can look good with cheap clothes that fit you well. If you're genetically gifted and tall and have athletic build you can look good in any clothes, but if you're short and not athletic build then you need to make it up with wearing expensive clothes and longer hair
