Have you ever looked at those many historical photos and paintings of women with sir really long hair like down to their feet and then looked at the many thousands, no doubt of people today who desperately want to grow long hair, but simply can't achieve it. Their hair? Just won't grow past a certain length, or at least it keeps breaking at a certain length. Maybe those historical women knew something we don't. I am one of those little girls who has now grown up into a woman who has always wanted that long, like Disney princess kind of hair until recently have never been able to achieve hair. That grew past a certain length I was experiencing tons of breakage and split ends which led to my hair having lots of different uneven lengths in it and now in the past six years, I have radically changed my hair care practice to one that takes into account A lot of historical and natural hair care practices and my hair is now longer and healthier than it has ever been in my life.

joosoo: These women in the pictures were not only rich, but purposefully photographed *because* of their hair. Ankle-length hair is not only difficult to achieve but rare in terms of terminal lengths. The average max of terminal length is usually 36in (hip-length). Yes, there are some special techniques like using combs and brushes that distribute oil, lack of metals and other chemicals in washing products, and hairstyle that these women used, but they didn't have any special secret or something that we don't know. Plus, Victorian and Edwardian women in the photo weren't immune to modern styling; they had hair pieces, ironing rods, and perms developed back then. It's just that youthfulness was associated with long romantic hairstyling, and many sought out ways to keep it as long as possible. They'd avoid the same stuff we do when we want to grow hair, like no heat styling and wearing protective hairstyles.

Limitless Intuition: My great grandmother's hair was down to her feet. She only washed it once a week in a creek and only used water and she kept her hair in a bun even while sleeping. I only saw her hair down once because all of us women in the family asked her to take it down for us to see. It came down past her feet and trailed behind her. When she was 7 her head was shaved and she never cut her hair again. She was in her 70's when I saw her hair.

Candys Critters: I always had long hair to my butt, and I am achieving that again by caring for it in a new, wonderful way.

Piya: Being asian ( North East India) im blessed with straight and long hair...im living my dream hair knee length hair but its very difficult to maintain.

phoenixkb13: Diet and genes also play an important part in hair health

Mlem: You know this hair, at least what i see in the video, would be seen by many people as "disgusting" because it's not super dry, supermodel-type shiny. I personally never had problems with my hair, i have super thick and a lot of hair~. But with the years and stress and bad habits it got thinner. Not to a point normal people could point it out, because i still have LOTS of hair, but i noticed it. I don't do no poo, but after a lot trial and error i have redcued my haircair(and skin-care) to a bare minimum. Super soft shampoo, which i often dilute again without bubbles and stuff and natural oils~. That it. I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks. Altogether with changes on my diet and the most important, changes in my life, not only my hair, but i as a whole got so much healthier. We life in a sociaty where you need more and more. There are hair- and skincare routine who are 20 steps+, which will stop working when you stop using these products. And it's so crazy to me, that we do this to our bodys, to ourselves xx. I found youre routine a week ago and put it in my Body-playlist and am just about to switch to it little by little. I don't want super long hair(i thankfully have no problems groin my hair), but i want healthy, strong hair for when i grow older ><.

Sarah Dean: Hair is a sign of health and certain genetics. It is what it is.

Tina Shugart: What about your beautiful face ...would love a natural makeup tutorial

Melina Maria: Could you do a historical hairstyles tutorial ❤

Dianne B: Totally agree! Please share your skincare routine as well.

Queen Starz: Do you trim your hair? If you do, how often ?

Sára Kuzsner: I always thought, that the reason those women were photographed with ther long hair, was because it was rare and special. Just like today.

El Kadosh: Wish you would have finished your story on how you achieved your hair growth.

Darlene Leblanc: You are beautiful and so is your hair,so lovely

Vicky Butt: Hi,watched yr hair video & got brave to put in lots of jojoba oil in my hair to deep condition it. I switched to all natural shampoo/conditioner to make my hair/scalp heathy-(took a month for my hair to detox) about a yr ago but haven't done a deep conditioner in yrs till recently- (put a little coconut oil in & it made it so soft & so detangled-no knotting) I have a dry scalp with dry flat curly/dry hair. I totally saturated my hair in jojoba oil, left it in over nite & a day. Now,do i just leave it in for a cple of days for it to be fully absorbed-(now it is oily but just a little surprisingly) then wash out or do i wash it now? Thanks i love your historical hair video!

Carrie Foscato: Your necklace is gorgeous.

Ceil Constante: The full video is the best I've ever seen before!

Mayan Ferdinand Robertson: Your features are one of the most diverse. You have a soulful voice and your eyebrows are very pronounced. You are a child of the planet! Don’t ever deny that part of you, it is your greatest gift!

Lotsof Love: OoOoOoh my goodness. Thank you so much for sharing these tips. We really are struggling these days. Thank you so much for helping.

Donna Mae Delos Reyes: It probably depends on genetics. I was able to grow out shoulder length hair all the way to my calves after 5 years of not trimming. I didn't do anything different then from what I do now, and even now that my hair is back to shoulder length I trim once a month because it grows quickly. W(`0`)W

Grace L: Your hair has a certain lifespan, it won't grow past a certain length. Like the hair on your arms and legs, it has a predetermined length, some are just lucker than others with how long it will grow to.

Sacrilegious Sasquatch: I have super fine hair and i don't wash it more than once a week. I can't grow my hair to be that long but i wish i could.

RuthAnne MacKinnon: Your advise is excellent but won't work for those with fine thin straight hair

Gigi Dodson: I stopped washing my hair daily. Now i wash my hair maybe 2 x a month. Maybe. I let my hair tell me when it needs washed. It never gets "greasy". It doesnt smell. I use protective styles. I brush my hair daily to move the natural oils. I went from over dyed dead hair to having to cut it a few times a year to stop sitting on it.

Veronica Rueckert: I can grow hair long, but it's thinning, the amount of hair I have is less. What can * do for that?

Ana: Question, with all respect: Using this technique, has anyone ever said or implied your hair looks or smells dirty? Is it odorless to a stranger having a conversation with you? Is it appropriate for professional settings?

Nanette Miller: Crystal Gayle was my role model my friend grows hair like that she donates it she said little brushing and wash once a month she wrapped that all up because she used to be amish

2020 Rise Above: I love your eyebrows.

Becky Ferguson: I did the wolfcut in the first lockdown then promised not to cut my hair for 5 years to see how long it would get, a month ago my longest length was down to my tail bone allowing me to cut my layers off, its now almost waist length, its thick and curly and I hardly ever brush or wash it, just finger detangle but i do want a boar bristle brush now after watching one of your videos.

VERA Addo Yobo: What about your diet ? I also feel our diet has a lot to do with how good our hair grows

Teresa Crawford: All the women in my family have amazing hair. Long if they choose. But thick and healthy. Mine needs cut to have it passed my waist is so annoying. I have never had a perm cause its curly never color changed always kept my dark color. Im 45 lil to no change. Wash EVERY 3days. With shampoo and conditioner.

Orange Zebra: Your hair is beautiful I have ordered the clay and Calia conditioner ThankYou

Ana: Besides haircare, do you take any particular vitamins for hair growth?

romystumpy: These women are the exception to the rule

my things: I think also a big part of it could be diet? because modern society has introduced foods that are extremely bad for us and have caused many health issues, they didn’t have those issues back then, so their diet was likely a lot cleaner

Katherine Sewing: For the full video and my personal hair routine, watch here: https://youtu.be/k-2YxqGiI54

E P: It is longer but it looks greasy —and greasy hair is not great for your scalp . I break out in a a rash if I don’t properly clean my scalp

M M: What does long hair mean to you? High value?

Patricia O'Donnell: Does the clay you use clog your drains??

Karen Bowler: Your over all health can make your hair break easily.

Petunia and Poppy: Like what? Name these alleged historical hair hacks.

phoenixkb13: Hair can be TOO LONG. In this modern era it's just not practical unless you're a kept woman with a Billionaire husband like a Russian Oligarch

Bidisha Dutta: tips of hair care plz

Grace G: Quick question To Katherine or anybody that knows: could this clay stain gray hair? I am starting to grow my gray hair now, and I am not sure I could use this one. Thank you for any suggestions, I want to try this technique, so I can start to wash my hair less often

Barbie Blue: No I don't want super long hair lol.

Todd Walker: over washing with foaming cleansers destroy long hair

Carmen Hernandez: What do u do I am blind

LaDerdre Hinton: Why put an info on a site that just allows you twenty seconds & y’all talk all that time away you have not sold me on your product
