Be warmed the following video you are about to see may contain some gentle cussing and cold complaining. This video is also going to be heavily weather related. So if you don't want to hear me rant about how the cold dry weather is ruining my life and this video is not for you, but if you too want solutions to your biggest problems this season. Besides, depression then keep watching this video because I have the Hair Care answers. I just have to ventilate that all being said. What'S good everybody, it's me, your main girl, Mel, a professional licensed hair, stylist, a curl specialist and a studying trichologist, because here we use science to better our hair care. Now, particularly, I want to keep this video very budget friendly, tis the season where we're doing a lot of holiday shopping, and so the budget may be low, but I'm about to explain everything you need to know now. I'M also proudly partnering with Eva NYC for a portion of today's video, because I love a lot of their hair care, especially in the winter. So I'm going to be explaining how I use a lot of the products in my routine to combat the side effects of the Season. Alright, let's see the main side effects of the season. If you have a runny nose, a cough sore throat, I have the wrong list here. This is not a tablet. This is my therapy line. I don't have a review on it, yet she is bright though anyways. Yes, our journey begins with a dry flaky scalp. Now first thing is: I have to wash my hair more often, not that I do, but I should let me rephrase that the more time I spend outside the more I have to re-moisturize now, luckily, for me, I actually have not done much outdoor activities. There'S a reason for that, but if I had my hair would be looking a lot more sad as I am, and what further snowballs the problem is, this the tangling that is just a mess, so I typically do a pre-poo treatment or in other words a hot Oil treatment on my scalp and ends before washing. I like to start with my ends. This is just coconut oil. I'Ve got so many oils, but if we're keeping it simple we're keeping it budget friendly and DIY coconut oil melted, she was solidified. Okay. I just put this jar in hot water, and here we are now before you freak coconut oil is not for everybody. It works well for my damage and hyperosity hair, but if you have more low porosity, a lighter weight. Oil, like argan oil, is a better option for you, and these oils are for the ends. I like to do my ends. First, that way I can detangle my hair a little bit that way. I can better access my scalp area afterwards. Now I've got a lot of hair to de-shed, even though I could use the extra warmth on my head. So while I'm I'm doing this, I'm going to be aware of that and kind of just keep a little space for me to collect my uh, my Fallen hair. Just so it's not everywhere. You can't attack the whole head as one entity, so we're going to take our Steve Irwin Clips. Who makes me sad. It makes me think about him every day and we're going to continue detangling see now that I can kind of run my fingers through my hair. I'M done this is all I needed to start out. I'Ve removed a lot of that Fallout and if I was feeling particularly energetic or in other words extra, I would absolutely absolutely twisting each section away to keep myself organized to prevent it from re-tangling. I'Ve done enough here today. I need to preserve my energy and I still have to do the talk and then we can do the scalp Another One Bites the Dust. Oh at this point, it's like how much how much can I take without going insane and thinking that I really am balding so now that these are kind of separated and situated, we can easily more easily separate and situate the scalp oils on the scalp. Now I'm using a rosemary mint, scalp oil because um well, when I look at the sink and I look at the hair that I just removed in my brain, I know that it's normal hair fall, but in my heart I am broken in my eyes. Tell me that I'm balding, so we're using this people, ask me all the time. What kind of oils do you put on the scalp so, first and foremost, rosemary oil? We all know there are studies that show that it can be almost if not just as effective as minoxidil, which is Rogaine to help or regrow hair grow from the scalping I tried to rhyme. Besides about this, is It's kind of all encompassed? It'S already done for you, but in the odd chance that you have like pure rosemary oil, you want to dilute that, and these are all oils that I like to use for, that we have jojoba oil jojoba. Whatever floats your boat huh, it's very skin friendly, very rich in vitamin E, and so you use this as a carrier oil to place your Rosemary in. I also do like to use almond those Jamaican black, castor oil, of course, is a staple many people love it for hair thickening won't actually thicken your hair. It will thicken the appearance of your hair and, at the very least, all of these oils May strengthen your hair to prevent breakage, which is where the hair thickening can come in see how see you got to take my word for it now look very closely. I don't even think you have to look that closely, though there it's those little flakes stuck in my hair now this only happens this time of year, and it is due to the lack of humidity and moisture in the air. My skin is so dry. I have oily face skin and it's still dry or rather dehydrated, it's dehydrated and it's not just the cold air, it's the hot furnaces, it's the going in and out of the different extreme temperatures. It'S really imperative to focus on moisturizing now, since this is particularly a scalp issue, a skin issue we moisturize skin with emollients and oils are emollient, so I've just greased myself up. I did that so that way, when I go to wash my hair and scalp, I'm not drying out my dry scalp even further by stripping it, even though it needs it, it also needs a protective barrier so 10 hours later, this is my hairball disgusting. I'M gon na get to washing and I'll be right back for conditioning all right, so I just got out of the shower and yes, I'm in full Glam. So I'm when I say just I mean well it's a little while ago now, sometimes you start putting on a very simple face, and you end up looking like this looking like me, do I look cold? I should this is the cold girl makeup and I am now after shampooing, since I want to avoid my hair from getting very brittle and any breakage. This is where the conditioning routine comes in. There are regular conditioners, there are deep conditioners and there are leave-in conditioners. This is a deep conditioner that can also be used daily or again, depending on how often you're washing your hair, possibly every wash it's all in how you use it now. What I really could use is some therapy, but we're just going to go in with the therapy sessions hair mask for now and get some hair would be look at her. She is thick and you can already tell that she is shiny. Now I came out of the shower, so it's easier to demonstrate this. I did this for you typically, I would just apply this in the shower, in any case, you're going to be best off using something like this on hair that has been freshly shampooed, because not only is the hair clean, but it is also going to be more Accepting of any products that you put on top and since brittle hair that is prone to Breaking has low elasticity. The cure for low elasticity is moisturizing, and this mask is some of the best ingredients for that we're looking at propylene glycol, which is humectant argan oil and jojoba oil, really rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, which, if your hair has been compromised by Color bleach heat brushing that's going to help fill in the cracks of your cuticle and repair, where the damage may be sealing in your moisture for a style that is going to be longer lasting. This is why we love protein as well as dimethicone. Oh yes, this is going to give an amazing smoothing effect to help really protect those strands lock in that fresh, wet, moisture from your shower, which again is going to help prevent brittleness and therefore breakages. Now I've been talking too much, so I'm adding water but, like I said just do this in the shower. Look at that. We love that this, for me just makes detangling freaking dreamy. I can almost start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let'S continue moving see now. Detangling only took a couple of minutes and just like that, I'm ready to rinse. I will absolutely not be letting this sit for 30 minutes because it doesn't have to after just two to five minutes: she's done her magic. That is why I so deeply love this [ __ ], and we have to try to combat the second side of the second, the one other of many side effects of the winter, and that is flat hair. This is caused for a couple of reasons, not just the lack of humidity because tis the season, but also because we want to compensate all the lack of moisture in our hair and the dryness that we Face. We tend to apply a lot. I see I'm just applying a little bit, but we tend to apply a lot of heavier products, just in hopes for it to keep the moisture in our hair better and, of course this can weigh us down now. Let me just show you how much I applied my leave-in conditioner that much it's not that much! You really don't need a ton. Well, you do need a ton of is my next step when we get to styling after I finish applying. Okay, I need more of these multiple gels over creams. I can also reach for mousses and Foams. The reason being is that these are more lightweight in the hair. Much more than creams would be so this is what I'm using for styling, and you know what I hate. I hate that people are gon na say that this is too much because listen. I'Ve got some tough love. Believe me, when I I say that you're better off applying a small amount of more products than a large amount of just one product. On that note, while I'm applying these, I am already separating some of the curls very gently, because when all the curls Clump in one section takes away from all my volume - and that can happen a lot when you're brush styling like I've done. But you got a brush style because it helps to work through the product through every strand. So after that, we're just gon na shake see this gentle separate and we're scrunching in another gel, so use the cream to moisturize and a gel to shape. While I did my brush styling and now this is a stronger hold liquid gel to separate and finish defining, I'm not separating it too much because then, if it gets too stringy like, if I'm just raking, then the hair won't be able to hold on to a Lot of its moisture, let it dry quicker, so I still want to see a lot of this beautiful clumping. I want to see that there's not a lot of frizz, because everything's been smoothed in and I want to hear this little squish now. Let me hear you do it, let me hear you do it, I'm watching you. This is what you need to do. I promise you this routine will seriously help you. Let'S keep stepping make sure the hair is wet if it starts to dry in some areas. On your ends, like me, and pretty much everybody because we're a higher porosity on our ends, then rehydrate them now this in the back. Where I get really flat, I want to make sure that when I'm brushing it styling it and laying it back now, I'm going to take a little bit more product, because I I can feel that I need it and that's okay, we work as we go. We can reapply if the hair feels dry and only after I have reapplied water. Okay, I feel like I've started to yell at you when I meant to just rant about my frustrations about the winter, and I just want you to know that. I'M not here to take my anchor out on you. We all just need a little bit of help. I figured that you need this therapy. That is why you're watching this video isn't it. I don't know what to do with my bangs. I don't know what to do with my bangs, should I wear them forward back forward back I'm gon na I'm just gon na brush up like this right in at the root and out like this. Now I'm ready to go in with that. Second, gel, like I mentioned, and like I also mentioned you could apply a mousse if that's what you wanted. This is what I really want to treat any areas that I know are going to give you problems later on, underneath make sure that they are smooth and defined getting line now, because it's so cold outside. I need to diffuse my hair because, if I don't not only will I freeze, but my literal strands will freeze and we all know what happens to water when it turns to ice. It expands and you do not want that wetness in your strands. Not only will your hair feel very stiff, will it look very frizzy once it actually defrosts, but it will actually cause damage internally, so preferably get drying it's okay. If, while you are doing so you're crying okay, I didn't need you to see. That is my makeup. Okay, don't answer that? Let me take a step back so now that it's fresh, it's got gorgeous shine. Okay, you can see the definition. Then again, the hair does have crunch to it, and it's like I want it to feel soft, and one of the things that happens down the line down the week is the hair can get very just dull, looking, especially as it's rubbing up against your sweaters you're Playing with it the way you're going to bed the hats that you're wearing, so one of the ways that I like to add shine is just glisten. This is a hair and body shine. Spray and, what's great, is again, it is a spray, so kind of tacking. On to my last point, where volume is often but not always an issue, this is really lightweight, so I'm just gon na gently quick Shake by the way. This is also from Eva NYC. I use this product a lot. It also has aloe in it and Cactus Leaf. Flour smells really beautiful, not tropical, which that's something I hate about products, a lot of curly hair products smell very tropical and in the winter in Canada. It'S just it's not right. I can't be smelling like the beach when it's the big freeze, you know anyways now. If the spraying scares you, you can also just apply right on your hands. Take a look at that shine and I'm just gon na very gently right now. I'M just breaking up the cast, but I do like to reapply this throughout the week as needed, bring back some shine and some life all right and this where we're at it looks great, and I feel better that it's done. But this took a lot of work and it's still not going to be perfect, see this freaking shirt and all the other sweaters that I have to wear. So I don't freeze out there. They cause matting under here, and that is just one of the worst side effects and so mid through the week. I make sure that I am finger detangling, similar to how I did when I was pre-pooing the baby with less oil, and sometimes I just have to kind of restyle this area. So that's what I dampen it down add a little bit of leave-in conditioner restyle it a bit and that should hold me over pull out your blow dryer, not just for your hair, but also for your body. I tell you, there's nothing like a blow dryer on full Heat against your skin. I just it really keeps me going in the winter. Let me tell you that still looking phenomenal this routine, like it's still soft, it's juicy, however much like the winter. It never feels like it's going to be over, and so I have to repeat this cycle, not necessarily the pre-poo whole detangling situation every wash day, but I try to do my hair routine at least one to two times a week treat my scalp conditioning as needed, And when I wash, I refilm a new video for you just like I do each and every texture, Tuesday, this video is over rant over. I feel much better having let that all off my chest - and I truly I mean I wish you the best. Let me know which part of this video you found helpful. I know we talked about a lot of tough love, but look I don't expect you to get it right on your first try, however, if you are new, make sure you subscribe and if you want to learn more about any of the products that I described check Out the description box below downstairs with all the links to the products that I had used for this wash day, I will also include the link to the cold curls playlist, my other winter videos are much more positive and next video will be too we're all just Trying to get through you know once again thank you for watching this video, I'm your main girl, Mel and I'm out peace. I had to come on and show an end of day one I need more lightning hold on it's. It'S nighttime. I was gon na say. I know what I need my therapy lamp, but it has to be plugged into work. I don't like this. Okay ready. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh my skin. I I overdid it. I over exfoliated everybody. I got two breakouts and I have fertiliated because I was scared, so I damaged my barrier or if we're healing that we are healing that I think I'm just hard on myself. I know it's flat back there y'all made me, do the freaking butterfly haircut, it's not just that. I I'm just sitting on my back, and that is why it looks like that. Look at this see now I can kind of run my fingers through my hands. I did not intend for this to turn into a 26 minute video fingerty dingling man hits are for free; they they are so hairy soon. I'M gon na start braiding them. Oh, my God stay tuned for armpit Styles. Okay, great, do you think I'm pretty dream effect? This makes it worth it.

Helen L: Your rants are welcome, Mell. They let us know we are not suffering alone. I must admit, I wanted to call my hair stylist and schedule a chop off of all my hair just so I could avoid the hour long and longer hair care routines! Hopefully you can feel the love from your fellow curlies. Have faith...Spring is coming.

Victoria Canales: For the people who struggle during winter try purchasing a humidifier.. I just bought one and it was help me soooo much with my dry skin and hair. Thank you Mell for the hair routine

Amanda Guido: Happy texture Tuesday everyone!!!❤❤

Néné: Mell, winter BLOWS. GET IT OUT, GIRL!!!!! I think you have no idea just how much you have helped so many of us. I've begun pree-pooing with oils and what a difference on my high porosity dry damaged hair, as i have watched it transform from a hideous monstrosity, to some actually livable lovable curls! It's def made a difference in my wash days and the final results! I love texture Tuesdays sooo much! This is the only channel I religiously watch and have gone through as many as I can to learn the proper way to care for my wavy curls!

Giulia Tridici: I love you so much! I mean, I think for me you are the only one in the social media world who shows the REAL STRUGGLE of having curly hair! Thanks for the advices and for the time you spend doing this videos! Thanks to you I do not straight my hair no more Love form Italy

Alicesings1: I perform in different music groups and I had a big concert last weekend. One of the other singers didn’t use any gel in her hair and I watched her beautiful ringlets go flat. I don’t feel comfortable mentioning anything about it to her but I wish I could. There are so many beautiful curlies that need your channel. Thanks MEL ! Love from Seattle USA xx

Andrea A: I've been extra annoyed with my hair lately too. The hair along the nape of my neck has been matting and tangling way more than it used to. I didn't realize until this video that it's bc of all the turtlenecks I've been wearing . It never occurred to me! Thanks for the great tips on winter care

Nura Martinez: SAD is definitely affecting me too! Will try the double gel technic , the pre poo and refreshing the back of my hair (basically everything xD)since its been the worst part of my hair to detangle lately! I am so amazed that your hair looks so lightweight and fluffy even with the extra gel!

Alessandra Mata: I don't think I can thank you enough for helping me love and understand my curly hair. I know it's superficial but you really have helped me be the best version of myself!

Sally Elphick: Mel and Amanda you are both amazing! Thank you for all the effort you put into your content each week. We all appreciate it so much ❤

Dante Velasquez: I love that we can come here for knowledge and entertainment at the same time. I hate the cold too. My hair gets so flat at the roots without the humidity. BUT, I now follow many of your tips, like hover diffusing, and all those problems have vanished

NuNu Huda: This really came in the perfect time I am so close to chopping my curly hair off hahahah thanks MELL

Coco: Curly people, just wanna say that moisturizing your hair adequately is also super important for longevity in the winter. I used a bad leave in conditioner for my last wash day, and my hair felt bone dry and more frizzy than usual on day 6, when my hair usually takes MUCH longer to get to that state (think day 8-10 or even longer). IT MATTERS WHAT MOISTURE PRODUCTS YOU USE!!!

Helen L: Last year, I was almost panicking with all the hair fall I experienced in the winter. This year it is even colder and my hair is showing the signs of seasonal change. Thanks for this video. I needed the reminder to deep condition my hair and not be afraid to use a richer moisturizer. I have thin and fine hair...very different from your or Amanda's type hair. But I still need extra moisture for conditioning and I have been using only gels vs curl creams plus gel for styling and holding my curls in place. I found adding in Curlsmith's Full thickening lotion to my routine is helping with volume without drying my hair or further weighing it down. I use an oil after diffuse drying my hair when breaking any cast and at night.

Helene W.: I feel like I just watched a workout video im so PUMPED and PREPARED to fight this cold!!!! love you always and forever for videos like this that save my hair!!!❤❤❤

Lori Yeterian Sorial: Listen, you’re funny in all of your videos but THIS is some of your best work. Thank you for teaching us so much while also making us laugh luv u relatable queen

Lisa Tulak: Happy Texture Tuesday! I’ve been making a little scalp serum with Rosemary, Cedarwood, Lavender and Jamaican Black Castor oil, to use before I shampoo. I have to say it feels like it helps. I’m going to have to look into the products you used today when I get home from vacation ❤

Tanairi Mastarreno: Happy texture Tuesday! I'm so happy you did this, my hair fights with the winter. Your hair looks so healthy!

nidhidubey97: Hey thanks, Mell.Really needed this. It will be a great help to all curly girls as winters are really harsh for our hair and we do need to extra moisturise them

Kathy Byrne: I’m been watching your tutorials and using them since 2020 and they’re amazing!! However the best part of your videos are when I’m feeling down and you always bring a smile to my heart!! Thank Mell for being you, and your seester too!

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! Excited to watch need all the winter tips!! Thanks! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo

Rachel Elyse Nieves: The video I needed!!! The way my scalp has been flaking since the temperature drop here has been insane **adds these Eva NYC products to my Christmas list ASAP **

Kennya Lupercio: Hi Mell! Fellow seasonal dry scalp gurl here, thank you for sharing ! I often have to put my hair in a bun due to my job and it deflates my curls afterwards. I wash my hair after 3-4 days, what do you recommend to keep it looking styled? Thank you showing your step by step routine! Sending much warmth from So Cal!✨

Darien Berghoff: Started prepooing with oils and it is GAME CHANGER in winter times. ❄️

Bronwyn: The seasonal depression struggle is real! I love that you are real and open!! One of my biggest struggles in winter is static!!!! I can't stand it! I live in a very dry, cold, windy climate. Anyone have help for static??

Ann Arbor the norris: Just in time great advise, as usual. You must have a crystal ball. I love you Mel, for your uplifting fun personality, your entertaining videos, but mostly for your lessons which have transformed my frizzy into gorgeous curls. You are my hero ❤

Elshina James: I started my curl routine with ya queen. I've moved to a new city a few months ago and am experiencing severe hair loss and dry, flaky, inflammed scalp. I used got oil, deep conditioning and even scalp serums. Finally I cut my waist length curly hair shoulder length . But still the issues persist. Can you preach me what the problem is and suggest a remedy?

Ruth Epstein: Great video Mel. And I sympathise with you as I have SAD too. This yea feels much worse. But I think that's because we've all had a ahitty few years. So I wish you well. In two weeks we hit the shortest day and then.......it's onwards to spring. Slowly at first, then picking up speed. Keep it lit gorgeous girl...hugs x

Amanda Fairclough: Thank you so much for this video. This is my first winter fully embracing my curls and I haven’t had a good wash day in what feels like forever! They’ve been everything from dry, flat, frizzy, to over moisturized and heavy and my scalp is itchy after only two days. Can’t wait to try these tips ❤

Lunique: Happy texture Tuesday! I'm so excited to learn more ways to keep my curls healthy in the Winter. Thank you so much for an informative and entertaining video as usual.

Cha: Omg ! Thanks for the tips ! Not used to this kind of weather yet. My favorite part is definitely the dry scalp one ! But also : multiple gels instead of styling cream! I’ve never thought about it ! Thanks again !

Marissa Lorraine: Literally the underside of my hair is breaking off. I run my fingers in there and it’s snagging. This is so helpful. My curl pattern is much looser but I get the tangles, my scalp is dry and itchy … I can’t do as long without washing. It’s frustrating and makes me want to smooth it straighter just so I can braid it and leave it alone. This awesome black woman at my grocery store mentioned I should use hot oil treatment. Even though our hair genetics are much different - I think I need to do that a few times this winter cause I am suffering over here.

oceanrose129: Mel you saved my hair! It's so long now and I get so many compliments on it. Your the best.

kholoud khalifa: Girl, you're a life saver, I watch your videos regularly and you're so very helpful. I'm still in my transition phase after years of heat damage and your videos are literally all I need starting this journey, You're the reason I finally love my curls following your steps. I keep recommending your videos, aside of that you're so beautiful and so much fun, your videos help my bad moods with all the fun. It feels like you became a friend already. keep doing more videos, Thank you for helping lots of girls and thank you for being you. So much love from Egypt, Mell❤

Jacy Henk: Glad it’s texture Tuesday!! I too have learned much from both of you. I appreciate the pep talks about being patient with your curls and not giving up. Thank you so much!❤

Brooklyn Cares: Thanks Mel, I just reordered your curl foaming gel, I love it❤️

K E: I just wanted to say THANK YOU for doing your research, having the facts to back up your claims, and continuing to further your education. I recently stumbled on a different channel that was the opposite, and doing things that made me cringe (calling once every two weeks "frequent washing,"), and because her hair was fine and it worked for her, that was all the proof she needed to consider it a fact. And there are people following her going, "Oh wow, your hair is so (fill in the blank), I'm going to try this too!" I may or may not have been arguing with the screen...

Jan Robert Escudero: I really struggle with my scalp when the weather changes but Aveda has this scalp cleanser and it changed my life. I hate scalp care products because my curls suffer but Aveda Pramisana (I think it’s called) cleans my scalp and treats the itchiness and my wash last so much longer

Lisa Smilek: I was hoping you were doing a winter curly hair video next!! You are amazing!! ❤❤

D W: For the last 6 months I have been using Mielle Rosemary shampoo and oil and I have tons of about an inch long hair coming in all over my head. I have Autoimmune and hormone hair loss and you can easily see my scalp all over. This amount of hair growth has me so happy! I am blown away by Rosemary.

Sophia Aloeristok: You had me laughing within the first 30 seconds of this video, i love your content so much . And girl I can RELATE!! Canadian winters are really out here putting us through it

Laura B: Hi Mel and Amanda. It’s so cold here this week. Wind Chill is projecting to be in the -40s and then warm up later to snow . You have inspired my wash day for this week as your using some of my favourites. Love Eva NYC mask, AG Liquid Effects and Fast food. Your lovely curl foam gel is a great addition. Take care and happy holidays. ⛄️

Kristina Beck: You looked beautiful with the blonde but, this dark hair is my favorite on you! I love it! I was debating on getting some highlights but now that I see your dark curls I am not gonna do it! I am gonna continue to just grow out my natural hair!

ansley birchmore: Where I live it is still 80%+ humidity in the winter so it’s “summer routine” all year long for me love this video and all the work ya’ll do!

Scarlett: I live in the southern US so we aren’t really in “winter” just yet. It was in the 70s here yesterday. However, does anyone have any tips on an itchy scalp that makes a lot of sebum? It doesn’t flake like dandruff. It’s just gunk under my nails after I scratch. I clarify and use scalp treatments but it’s back after a day or so.

Alicia Garcia: I wish it was colder here in Georgia, 74°/23 Celsius. On another note, I was wanting your advice. My hair is fine and thin, thinking about getting a perm although, I am a wavy. I want to be a little more curl than wave though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your helpful videos. Thanks for all you do.

Manuela Andrade: Winter is the worst!! Honestly, we need to get out of here! Thanks for the help, I will try all of these solutions

Christina: Thank you for sharing. Many of us feel it too. I love your videos & routines so much. You inspired me to pull out the oils snd treat myself to some hair TLC.

E G: loved the video! how do you prevent your hair going too soft and getting silky roots with no volume?

Alícia Rius: I also see things differently through my mind, heart and eyes :D I feel ya sister.

Daybara ♫...♥: This is what I was looking for. My hair looks like this all the time. My house has super dry air……I even get nose bleeds…

JC7 Blessed: I can't wait to see what is next on the Curly Carols Carelist The Winter Routine Update was more than worth the wait... thank you Mell and Amanda

Beauty and the Boat: It’s not just the cold but the wind that flips my wig. My fine, lower density hair just can’t handle it. Any tips for covering up without flattening?

greens: You have me dying laughing curly haired sees! Thank you! xx ❤️

Julie: Dear Mel, Huge fan, your channel is the reason I started wearing my hair curly 2 years ago ! ❤ Question, can you do an updated video on color maintenance? I just dropped an unhealthy amount of money on new shampoo/conditioner etc from AG bc I’m afraid of my color washing out but I still don’t understand. Pls help!

Angelica: My hair has always had problems with hold, and now because of winter and the many layers I wear outside, the frizz created destroys my curls by the middle of the day. What can I do to fix this? I always use mousse and gel to hold my hair but now it isnt enough and I tend to tie my hair up instead of styling like i normally do.

Daybara ♫...♥: This pre-pop saved my life! I just went in there and did it now!!

Wandy Gonzalez: Thanks for this video. My hair on the back near neck always gets so knotty.

Alexandra Ramos: The results were fenomenal deff trying this technique!

Renee Mellott: I had covid this past Aug and had extreme hair loss since.. is this something you have seen as well in your clients and how long does it last??

Anzhelika Nazarova: Love your hair in this video and the colour suits u so well! Will use the tips provided, big thanks Mel and hugs from Austria! : * )

Amany Aragon: Happy Texture Tuesday curlys. Mell can you please include in coming videos how to care and tame the frizz for grey hair i have a similar hair texture to yours but i had grey hair since i was 12 and the white hairs always have a mind of their own. If you could also give recommendations for wash out hair dye for dark hair. Thank you

karinac1999: I almost leaned in and did the squishy sound with my mouth when Mell said she wanted to hear ours . I need to start doing more oil treatments. Mell, what do you think of clove oil?

L Donnell: Do you have any advice for detangling hair in the shower? I can't brush my hair when it is dry because it gets frizzy and also breaks off super easily. But, I struggle to detangle it when it is wet because it gets matted when wet.

Colleen Cathrae: Your hair looked fabulous as always and I loved your rant about winter, I live in Ontario too and it is crazy weather

Willowy13: My hair LOVES winter/fall. It is when it is the curlier, more hydrated, bright and easily manageable. I may be a bit partial though because the whole me loves winter/fall/snow... aaaaand I live in the northeast region of Brazil where our winters are 25 degrees celsius in a luck day.

PP: Thanks for all the great information. Unrelated- Can you break the steps of how you twist or finger coil your hair so smoothly? I get stuck but the way you do it looks flawless.

M K: Having weird winter in Michigan. It’s been in the 40s my hair has been so dry. Going to use the Eva nyc hair mask when I was tomorrow!

K MacC: oooo, have been using NYC Mane Magic for a long time, maybe it's time to try Just Glisten instead. and a BTW--I love, love, LOVE your foaming gel!! Use it absolutely every day and have warned VERB that if they ever discontinue it, I will come after them. lol Thank you!!

Rachelle P: Before watching this I must say, I so need this!. You read my mind Mell. The freezing cold and add in my wood stove .

Sonia Burgos: Thanks for the tips!❄️Your looks amazing!

Sophiya Storm: Love you Mell! Was wondering how long you keep the rosemary oil on your hair and scalp before you wash it. Maybe I missed it.

Lynzi Collins: Happy texture Tuesday!! Hope you’re having a great day ❤️❤️❤️

Nikki2370: I'm so excited to try shine mists!!

MTH418: Questions: Do you have to leave the scalp oil in for a bit before shampooing so it doesn’t wash off? Also, was the tool that you scrubbed the scalp oil in with the same or different than what you scrub your shampoo in with?

Rebella: I waited for wash day to listen so I could follow. Can't thank you enough. This was PERFECT. Best wash day ever.

C. C.: Hello from Arizona. We have actually had some cool/rainy weather for the past 2 weeks. I get to wear my boots! I will enjoy it while I can. Meanwhile, for me, it's moisture, moisture, moisture. I have been enjoying Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil cream and of course love my Twist by Ouidad Boss Bounce. Argan oil kind of dries out my hair along with coconut oil. My hair seems to like . I love that Mielle rosemary product line. I use their growth oil.

Johanna Cook: Need this info and your hair looks gorgeous in this vid! So shiny and bouncy!

Daughter of Hildir: I have 2B-2C curls that I can kinda push to 2C-3A if I use enough product... But the trouble I have is that what makes my hair happy makes my skin breakout like mad from all the heavy oils & conditioners. It got so bad that I had to go back to basic shampooing/conditioning just to let my skin recover. But now naturally my hair doesn't look anywhere near as good as it used to. Advice?

Jenn Leah: I love the Eva NYC primer! I use it in summer for UV protectant if I'm going to be outdoors, sometimes I use it on line day 4 to lightly mist my curls and then I just smooth my hair down with my hands & it helps bring back shine & smooth frizz, & I like to use it in the morningtime on my washdays (I wash at night), because it helps me dry finger detangler after I let it sit on my hair all day, especially those tangles at the nape of the neck!

Katie Smith: Watching this got me thinking my strands and scalp could use some oil but I also super need to clarify as I've got product build up. If I clarify after adding the oil does it undo the benefits of the oils?

grammasscotsgirl: -34 C here right now without the wind chill - I don't even want to fathom what it would be WITH the wind chill. I'm not even going outside. Me and my curls right now will stay in the house with the perfect humidity setting. But, thanks for the tips for when I finally DO leave the house!

Olivia Stuart: Maybe a strange question - how often do you wash your Seesters towels? I absolutely love mine and use it every wash day, but that's only once a week. Do you wash it every time? Super helpful video, my scalp hates me right now! ❤️

irene G: This is my favorite time of year in south Florida lol! Less humid = better hair days. ☺️ I hibernate in the summertime here lol.

M Rence: I busted up at, “We ALL need help in Different Ways!”

Caro Milles: Hi Mell! Thanks for all you've done to my hair. I have still a question though. And I will try to explain myself cause i'm french and struggling!!!!! So everytime I put oil in my hair... I wondering if it's pénétrate because of all the products I have in it. But if a shampoo, to oil to preshampoo, to shampoo... Just saying it out loud is silly... Is oil still effective :(? Lots of love from Gard in France

isingsometimes: Oh god I hate how sweaters mess up my hair. Great tips!

Dee Silver: I really hope they ULTA will carry the AG Care gel.

nenaaahh: I needed this !!! Thank you !

Haz Au bel: Lmao i really love sarcastic she's XD let alone depression jokes hahah girl i relate on a spiritual lvl

Stargazer87: Mashallah Mel, you're curls look INCREDIBLE! The best I've seen ☺️ *chef's kiss*

A. V.: Hi, I have extremely dry hair but no dandruff because I have always washed my hair after 3 days. Now I recently started trying 4 days but that's it because I think that not washing our hair after too long that it may cause dandruff or itchy scalp.

Lindsey Violet: OMG MEL, that hair and skin at 15:20. It’s your look girl!

E K C S: My scalp is so dry atm even in British relatively humid winter by a lot of people standards.

Milene Vilela: Could I use rosemary essential oil . How many drops would you suggest for a low porosity hair? Thank you ❤

פראדי רוט: hi mell, Hi Mel do you know of a method that can thicken thin hair? I would love to see you talk about it❤

Arissa Graham: Been using moisturizing products (and ofc protein and clarifying when i need it) but my hair still frizzy and curls not lasting very long

Rosa Diaz-Callender: I always enjoy the funny outtakes at the end of the videos. I really needed that laugh today.

Jessica Sopolis: Rest In Power, Steve Irwin! Another great vid, Mel! You rock!!! Xoxo

Juli Lezama: Mel!! i need your nail care routine bc your nails are so long and pretty and mine break and won’t grow much love
