Hey everybody Steve in a salon guy here and I'm going to do a special requested, haircutting tutorial that has been requested many many times by you guys - and this is basically a simple longer long to medium length. Layered haircut, that's it! So I'm ready! Let'S get started! What I've done is I've created a center parting, and this is the beginning point of this haircut. What I'm going to do is start in the back here and then work to both sides and what I'm simply going to do is create my length. So I'm not going to go a lot, a lot shorter on this mannequin head, but I'm going to bring it up about maybe 3/4 of an inch just to clean it up and I'm going to work around the back and then both sides and then we'll establish Our length, as you can see what I did is, I helped held the hair in the comb. I didn't use my hands at all, but you usually would see which is grab the hair and hold it in your hand like so I didn't do that. I just went with no tension coming straight down and then cut from the guide that the comb itself created. I'D use my hands, I don't use any tension, that's a great way to cut a pretty good straight line. Now we're going to do is going to create the length and the front of where I want the layers and the angling to start. So what I'm going to do is determine where that's going to be, which I'd say about right here and then I'm going to bring everything to this one point and create an angle towards the front length and that's going to create my layer throughout the front here And give me my guide of where I want everything come to come to. I'M gon na repeat that on this side and then we'll have our complete base and outline finished, as you can see here is our outline throughout the front and the sides and again what I did is combed everything forward like so and brought it all down to Blend in with the sides, and even throughout some, the back here, not too much but you're not going to be able to cut too much in the back, but everything down this way. Now, if you want in the front here, what you could do is you can chip into it like this? Alright, just using the thumb and what that does. Is it kind of softens the front line here, makes it just a little bit edgier and just softens it up? So it's not such a harsh line in the front, so you can do that. You know you can also do that, while you're layering it it's going to come around this side here, basically do the same thing on this side here, just chip into the length just to soften the line up a little bit and just to make sure that we're Pretty balanced now again what you can do the check this is simply just bring everything grab two points, the same side, bring it together and to check your balance. Also, what you could do is take the white teeth, which I do sometimes and comb everything that you can in in sections to one point like so to see where you're at as far as the balance goes and as you can see, we're pretty pretty good and If there are, if there's anything, that's off, you just simply cut it on that side and you'll see how it balances everything out and kind of evens out so again, just kind of take everything in one spot and you'll see where there's longer longer pieces, and that's Also, a good way how to kind of even everything out now we're going to start the layering in the back here. So what I like to do traditionally is - and in this in most situations, not every but most is take a section right from the top back part of the head and then bring it straight up like so, and then that is going to determine the layering. Oh and the length of where now remember, wherever you cut this, if I cut this here, that means these layers are going to fall here. You have to create something between down here and down here to blend it together. So always, keep that in mind. Wherever you cut, this first section is where it's going to fall and then that's where you have to create the layering and the shaping. So always keep that in mind when you cut your first section. So I'm going to this is where I'm going to cut mine right here, as you can see that there it falls down and there's where you have it the next section. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go probably another inch or so below that comb. This straight up like so and what's going to happen, is you're going to see your guide underneath and then that is what you cut off repeat that on the other side here get this out. You can comb this out of the way comb it straight up again. You will see your guide right there and there you have it now, comb it all down and, as you can see, it started to it's starting to actually let me just lower this a little bit here there what's happening. Is it's starting to now create a layer in through here, but fortunately we're not getting any harsh lines so from this point on, I don't want to bring this up any higher from neat, because what happens is it really removes a lot of weight? If you bring it too much hair up, so what we're going to do is actually and you're going to be able to see this. It'S going to happen is going to be able to connect these two you're going to see where your last layer is and then you're going to see where the bottom section meets it, and there shouldn't be too much to cut off and then that's pretty much it. So just so you guys can see on a different angle is here, is where up here is where the layer starts, then, when I brought it all straight up and you're going to see this heat down here is where you need to connect everything. So all you're really doing is blending the top in through the bottom layer and you'll be able to see. Never this is your length down here. You don't want to cut too much down into this, but what's going to happen, is everything is going to blend into itself? By doing this sort of technique? Remember don't bring too much hair straight up from the from down here, because that will leave it very, very thin on the bottom and you see the length is down here. So I'm not touching that. So I'm just going to continue this throughout the whole back connecting everything and then we're going to work on the top. Now, when you get in through the sides here in the corner, just keep in mind that you want to bring everything pretty much straight back, because you don't want to remove too much weight or create any sort of holes in the corner. So when you get to this part here, just kind of over direct everything straight back like so so you're not going to create any sort of holes in through here and make it too thin in the corners. It'S better to kind of manually. Do that when you're working throughout the sides? Just so, you can protect some of that length and that bulk in through here and the weight, so I'm just going to again continue to finish this whole back section here by doing the same exact thing and then we're going to work on the top section. Now we're ready for the top section, so what I'm going to do is here's, where we're going to use the section from our guide, which is what we cut in the back. Remember this this is that piece we cut to establish the length in the back. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take a section and I'm going to comb this out of the way and the section I'm taking is pretty much right in front of the section that I took in the back okay and I'm going to comb. It straight up from the head: remember: your elbow is parallel and there's your first section right there, okay, don't go into the sides yet take a section from the piece in the previous section take a new piece from the new section, which is what that does. It creates your guide: okay, there's a guide underneath elbows straight and you're cutting straight across. That is it. This is what this is doing is creating the top layer, and it's connecting the back with the top. Now, depending on the haircut previous haircut, you might see a few different lengths from all over the place, depending on what the last the client had last, you might see pieces old, some extremely longer than others. You might see you know not much coming off, but the key here is to make sure that it's well balanced and that everything is even because remember when you're cutting here, you want to make sure that it grows out really well and a well-balanced haircut technically will Grow out really really well so the last section here you want to take a little bit more because you want to make sure you're keeping the the length and not really thinning out the front too much you're creating any sort of holes. So here you're going to see where it's not too much was coming off because we established the guide, then what I like to do is just create a section right down the middle and just kind of make sure everything is even just kind of balance it out. Make sure everything is which is right on point which it is also connect in the front in the back here everything looks great. Everything should be perfectly even so now. What'S going to happen, is we're going to now work on connecting this, because now we still up the side, so the top is finished. What I like to do is just push the hair out of the way like so, and here is where you're going to connect everything. So here's a little corner right here and you're just going to cut that right off, bring everything up there. The length drops out and you don't want to go to too low and cut off too much of the length, but there you have it. So you take again a little bit of the net of the last section. You took part of the new section which creates a guide, as you can see, where you're, where you're cutting what you're cutting there's the corner there's a little parts. I need to cut off all right, elbows up, there's the length I didn't cut it. I just cut the layers, so I'm going to repeat this on again throughout both sides. I'M just going to finish this and then jump right to the other side. There you have it, how much coming off right there and you can take now. The part from the top section here, which is on the middle and then kind of combine everything, and it should all just magically flow in together. Really not much hair should come off from this corner from the top here at all, should just perfectly balance out. If there is it's, barely it's just a little bit for cleaning, see I'm barely cutting anything, but those little hairs are very, very important, nothing there. So I'm going to repeat the same thing on the other side and the way you do, that is simply by again taking a part of the section here from the middle that you cut the top, and what I like to do is make sure everything is pretty. Well balanced, but I like to actually stand in front this way, so I can see what's going on and also because, if I was to cut it this way, what would happen is I'd have to I end up putting my body in a weird position. I see a lot of people cutting this way. I mean my my back over here is kill me already. You want to put yourself in a good body position, so turn itself around again use this elbow. What kind of like, if you go right through it, I'm not going to elbow on your head? Okay, but I'm going to bring my elbow up this way. It'S why I can see everything and there is my layer right there excuse me for have my elbow and you're fit in your face here. I don't mean to do that. There'S the guide. Underneath again, you will see this leg on the other side, you'll see what needs to come off, don't go too low, because that is your length and that will also thin out the bottom too much n cut in the corner bring everything down this way and take That off and the last section right here in the front not much should be coming off just that little corner bit and then this last part here there you go again now we connect everything to make sure it's blended in and you do that by going a Little further over into the center here's, where you can stand in front now or behind it all right, because your body obsession now you're a little more balanced, you should be just taking barely anything off just a little bit very little and again, this is actually connecting Everything so that when this haircut grows out, it's actually you're going to grow out so well because you're putting all this time into the haircut technically remember what you put in is what you're going to get out. That'S very, very important! So finally, what I like to do is I like to just move my shears down, I like to just run my hands through everything and check the balance check the length make sure everything is pretty not pretty make sure it is even and just go through every Single thing and what's going to happen when you're doing this, the hair is going to speak to you it's going to say you know, you'll, be able to fuel up something, really isn't right and that's when you kind of go back in alright and when you go Back in to double-check everything, you know: that's where the dry cutting comes in or that's where you're saying: hey wait, you know, but this isn't right. Let me go back and go over this and, what's going to happen, is you'll be able to see and feel I'll wait this sides longer. Then, when you go back in and and fix it then you're like oh I see now so hair will speak to you all right. What I'm going to do is going to apply some product to the hair and then we'll blow dry it and then we'll be finished. So for my styling products, I'm using the Milani a youthful eight collection, which is a favorite product line of mine. I love you working with them. There'S an argan oil, which I love. It'S and leaving her very silky, smooth, really an amazing product, 4d frizzing and leave incredible shine, a leave-in treatment which has a lot of vitamins as eight essential vitamins in it, and also a keratin heat protector which protects the hair from heat when blow-drying. So I'm going to use about two to three pumps of each mix it and cocktail together and apply it throughout the whole head. Then I'm going to blow-dry it and we'll have our finished result and to blow-dry I'm using my plum Mitchell. Pro Tools. My express ion drive version 2 and my Paul Mitchell Pro Tools Express ion round brush, which is large one thing I just want to show you when you're blow drying hair. I like to actually start right in the front like so, and this way you're you're, seeing the shine you're, seeing everything you're getting this out of the way I'm just going to blow dry. That'S really quick for you guys to show you how smooth and shiny this kids going to be from this product and from the tools I know. I know a lot of you out there watching this, especially clients always want to know how to blow-dry hair properly. Well, you know I'll do a whole video on blow-drying, but you really want to do. Is you walk in the brush and the nozzle of the blow-dryer and the brush are always working seamlessly together? So you lock it in you know, go down maybe a couple times. Go back in you know a lot of times. People go like this and they think they're done it's not going to happen. You have to go over this at least five to six times before you can actually smooth it out. So I'm going to I'm going to finish the whole head with this style and with this haircut and then we'll be done and I'll kind of recap, everything for you guys alright. So this is what the blow-dry finish should look like all right. I might know it's kind of like in her face, but here's where you this is what I call the money shot right here. This is where you now can. The hair cut will flow into itself. So what I like to do is usually have the client, and in this case the mannequin here bring their head back like so alright and then just what you do. Is you rake it back with your fingers and just start to work the shape in there now? Because this is I I call this literally the perfect haircut. This is the best haircut because it all flows in so well. It'S it. It'S so perfectly layered and blended that everything just flows in so nicely all right now, client tilts a head back and there you have it now. I don't have a mirror in front of me. I'M kind of going up the camera, but, as you can see very very beautiful, let me just get up a little closer. Oh, so you guys can really see it up closer all right now. You can really see how it all just kind of really flows in nicely between the products. The tools I mean this is this is absolutely gorgeous. Let me just take this out of the way here, so you can really see how this all blends. In nicely, I mean look at the way the layers flow and she had some highlights before previously, but yeah. This is it, I mean see it just it all flows in so well, and there goes the back. So it's somewhat say medium. You know medium length, but you really can't go wrong with this haircut. It'S absolutely gorgeous you can you can flip it around both sides. You can actually go over this side as well because of the evenness of how it was cut and also the way was blow-dried depending on the part. But again it's got the same kind of flow and the same movement to it very, very, very beautifully done this to me again, it's a perfect haircut. You know I love it and I think you could have a lot of success with it. Well guys this wraps up my medium to long layered haircut. I think again, this looks great. You know I'm going to call this. The perfect haircut I mean that this to me is is something you can't go wrong with it. It'S got great great shape. It'S modern! It'S then we're going to go out of style and it's going to grow out very, very well, very beautifully and the clients are going to love it. So I know this video took a little bit longer than what I usually do, but this I want to make sure you guys really understand this, because it is a little more of a technical haircut and I really want you guys to get a lot of out Of it don't forget to subscribe to my videos, I'm going to be doing a lot more hair tutorials and some really cool things coming up. So thank you to everyone for subscribing. I couldn't be here without you guys, so, thanks for watching and I'll see you guys soon for another tutorial with the salon. Guy

Mallory Brooke: I love this!!! It seems that hairstylists these days just don't listen. This really is the perfect cut that doesn't make hair look thin, and too chipped into!

Victoria Nargiel: I am in LOVE with this hair cut. It's been years since I've done anything but a 2in trim with no layers, but after watching this, I'm ready to chop my hair off for this cut. I love it, it's beautiful, and you made this cut perfect! I'm sending this video to my hair dresser for my appointment tomorrow! ;) Thank you for a great tutorial!

Nikki Arias: I'm currently a cosmetology student and I found myself not getting the extra explanation I needed for layers so your video was a great help! Thank you for sharing!!

JillyBean860: I sincerely hope the mannequin paid and tipped you well because that haircut is beautiful

YariGlows215: I gave my daughter this haircut exactly as you explained and it came out PERFECT,FLAWLESS,BEAUTIFUL,she was so happy to see all the ugly splitends gone that i suddenly became her hairstylist...LOL......THANKS TO THIS AMAZING TEACHER!!!!

Stella Sena: Just wanted to let you know in my opinion you are great at being very precise and detailed in explaining and showing your cutting techniques.Thank you!

W1ck3dG00dW1tch: THIS is THE CUT I have asked for all my life!! Over and over... So many scissors, so few truly talented stylists.

Josie Chavez: did this haircut on my mother in law even with thick hair it looks great! beautiful hair cut and great video!

Monica Notz: Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I am an amateur hairstylist wannabe, I cut my husband’s and son’s hair once in a while but I actually attempted my daughter’s hair this time by following your tutorial. I had just bleached her hair and the ends were quite damaged. Her hair was definitely needing a trim. It turned out pretty darn good if I say so myself!

grasso7200: Thank you for taking the time to create this video. Walking me through the step by step process was incredibly helpful. I've watched a few videos but this is by far the most in depth and well explained I've seen. Thanks again and keep up the good work:)

Hannah Hart: I used this video to teach myself to cut 8" off my mom's ludicrously long curly hair (I am an amateur, I was unanimously volunteered as amateur quarantine stylist) and it worked beautifully and saved several people from full on panic attacks! Great quarantine cut if you must

Pamela Sarayiah: Thank you for this video! For years I have been trying to have this simple haircut by a hairdresser, after my previous great hairdresser moved to Ireland. I don't know why, but the hairdressers in UK (London) seem to be obsessed with making the shortest layer far too short for the length of my hair (medium length), and I end up having to cut my hair short. Also, despite my insisting on hair being cut blunt, like in this video, as my hair has natural wave, hairdressers insist on chopping into my hair and 'texturising it', leaving it as a frizzy mess! It's like they know no other way to cut hair. Thanks to this video, I actually cut my hair like this, myself - and for the first time in years - I love my hair! Thank you!

Jacintha de Koning: Thank you for explaining so well! I did this haircut on my daughter and it is so beautiful. I learned so much from your tutorials that I cut my whole familie now with confidence

Georgie Anna: you are a great teacher. I basically understood how to do this haircut on someone else. now if only I could do it on my own hair..

dcsx: Thank you! This tutorial helped me give my boyfriend (with medium length hair) a haircut during covid. It has been bugging him for about 6 months. I think it turned out really well and he is pleased! This is the best tutorial that I have seen in terms of explaining concepts and angles of layering. Well done, sir, and thank you again.

thethingabouthappiness: This is so cool! I have layers and it's so awesome to know what the hair stylist actually did to my hair. Hair styling is a real art, this tutorial is much appreciated :)

Katie Irish: I used this video to cut my hair last night and it came out perfect! I couldn't believe it! I had to contort my hands a little, but it worked great! Thank you for sharing this. It's close to the best cut I've ever had!!

Michelle Arcilla: Thank you for this tutorial! I have learned a different techinque in terms of layering here in Korea but it's similar in a way that we don't cut too much on the sides. And we start at 90 degrees on the back. I'll study this technique as well. I like that I can determine the length of the shortest layer right at the beginning.

airlui: 56 years old, in confinement with my wife. Watched your tutorial a couples of times, got the scissors, and a comb, and cut her hair. What you teach makes sense, you should have been a teacher. The wife still talks to me, the hairdo will do the trick until the hairstylist can erase my mistakes :) Thanks lol

Julz Luvz Dollz: This is exactly how I cut my hair for many years now thank you for the in-depth tutorial. I did learn a few new tips that I know will work well and make my hair even bouncier. I totally agree it’s the perfect haircut due to how it grows out and the evenness and like you said you can flip from side to side. Thanks again love your channel!

Chantal Quinty: I have followed your tutorial on two separate occasions in the last several months to cut my own hair and have gotten acceptable results - I'm not afraid to be seen in public afterwards!!! That being said, I think I will add to my bucket list "Get hair cut by Salon Guy!". You explain your craft very well with a lot of details and I'm able to cut my own hair pausing and restarting the video as needed. Sometimes I use two different sessions for one cut... boy, my arms sure get sore! I love your sense of perfection and I'm sure you could probably charge more. I can see how such a perfect cut would grow out nicely and keep its original coiffed look for quite some time. Thank you for the tutorials! Love your sense of humour, your professionalism and your dedication!

Ayanna D.: Thank you Salon Guy for your tutorial on how to cut medium layers in your hair! I am home styling and followed your instructions and my hair looks like I had it professionally cut. You are an excellent teacher of hair styles! Keep up the excellent work.

nik ferg: Although I LOVE the simplicity and ease of this cut, the human head takes way more time, sectioning and blending than a mannequin head. I still think it's awesome that you provide FREE education. I've noticed my clients watch these tutorial videos too and have more knowledge about hair in general.

ShadowCatRO: Thank you , I can't put it in words how much did this help me.You're a great teacher and a true professional.

Krystal Feathers: I love this cut and it’s very easy for me to work with! Gorgeous !!

BajanRoots: It so perfect! I got my hair like this in the past. I'm scared to get it again cause my regular stylist isn't in. But she uses the same technique as you showed. Thank you for sharing this. It looks gorgeous

M K: The last good haircut I had was this one in the video in 2016, just by chance, with a stylist I'd never been to, in a couple of towns away . I was over the moon. It grew out beautifully. I could wear it up in a twist, and it fanned out beautifully (a sign its been cut well).  She is often not available, & hard to get to, so that was the last good haircut I had. I try to do mine myself now, but it's very long and sometimes my arms aren't long enough (lol). I have tried and tried to explain to many stylists this exact haircut, but never get what I want. My hair needs a bit of a tidy up right now, but looks better than some of the expensive crap (sorry) I've been left with in the past. I do get the principles of this cut exactly, but quite hard to do yourself (getting the tension even, looking for the guide, not losing track of where you are etc). Thanks Steven.

Serene J: LOVE the results at the end. It's BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could do this by myself. It's gonna be hard lol.

Suh Reboucas: Realmente uma arte o seu trabalho, impecavel!!

Cynthia Jimenez: Wonderful, Layered cut and finished style,  Love it!!  Thanks for the great tips!!

Yaritza Silva: great great tutorial. love how you explain and show everything. perfectly and flawlessly!.

Tanja: Thank you Stephen for showing how to do this great cut. I did a shorter version of it , it's fantastic.

Stacey Here We Grow Again: Wow!! I watched this entire tutorial to the end!! Absolutely stunning!! I need your magical haircutting hands, for the mop on my head! I'm a gardener, so my hair is always up and gets damaged a bit from the sun. It's nice to have a style like this sometimes, just to make you feel good! I'll be attempting to fix the terrible haircut, I gave myself 2 days ago Thank you so much for your time and knowledge!! I really appreciate it!

NatPoperazzi85: I freaking love this video. You know exactly what you're doing. Wish you were my hair stylist. Kudos! <3

Hyrein: That is amazing, thank you very much for investing all that time explaining each detail. And the results were just gorgeous

MHTsuma: Super awesome tutorial! Extremely thorough and perfect!

Rachel Shutter: I had my mom do this style on my hair and it turned out great! Thanks!

Rick Hewitt: I used this tutorial to cut my own hair.. I have VERY thick hair so my arms got tired a lot but the end was AMAZING! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Elizabeth Lessard: This is perfect! This helped me soooo much. Plus, I have major back issues/neck surgeries, so to do this myself is usually tough, but this and seeing all in front way easier. I also have very long hair, not waist, not bra length, prob 3-4" past mid back, so it would be easier if my husband could do this, but I'd rather trust myself then him lol Thanks again!

Jacqueline Arambula: This has got to be the cleanest hair cut I have ever seen! Amazing job!

Tisharne Te Puni Manuel: You are amazing x I did this on myself haha obviously was a challenge but my hair has never been better. I watched a bunch of layering videos read up on some tricks and tips but this video helped me the most. I only have you to thank x keep doing you because you are awesome

Desiree D.: this is exactly what i want! no doubt the perfect haircut :) thanks for sharing this!

Florida David: Just tried it today and I was happy with the result although I am pretty sure I did not do it properly cause I have no one to help me. My arms are soar but I love it. I did the bangs part longer. The front layers is hiding my fat cheeks. Thanks! This will be my lifetime haircut.

nriches12: Love how simple you keep your cuts!

Jennifer Chandler: You are brilliant!! I have been a hairdresser for 48 years, still working!! I watch all the hairdressers on "YouTube" but I always come back to you, you are the best one, in my eyes, you explain everything so well, with a little humor,!! I wish you were here in England, I would make an appointment with you , my daughter is a hairdresser, I must show her this cut, to copy, although, she's a very good cutter, my hair always looks nice when she cuts it, you are an amazing hairdresser!! Xx

C Tran: Thank you so much for this video. Great tutorial. I'm taking cosmetology class and this video helps me a lot. Can't wait for other videos coming up.

Michelle Leah: Omg... Perfect haircut is an understatement! Thank goodness I have a stylist who cuts my hair exactly like this! I get compliments everywhere and everyone wants to know who does my hair! I'm so lucky! ✨ Again! Amazing work! You're so talented! Subscribed! All the best!

Marssi Tyra: perfect haircut, perfect color, perfect tutorial. thanks a lot ^_^

Nicole Yang: Thanks for sharing! I just tried this haircut technique on my own hair and I really like the layers my new haircut now has. Easy to follow instructions. Thanks again!

stardiva41: Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was very easy to follow. When doing a layered hair cut what questions should you ask the client during the consultation?

Amani Alrumaihi: Very good hair cut lesson I've tried it on mom's hair and it turned up to be fantastic thank you

lovelydreamcollies: Very good tutorial :)! I am cutting my friend's hair for some time and i though i will try this on me. It was pretty easy after seeing all the steps you showed and the result is amazing! Thanks a lot

Lehi Naseem: Thank you for posting this! Every time I explain this to any stylist they never understand and they continue to blame me as if I don't know what I'm talking about. I just cut my own hair and I love how it looks (I've also received so many compliments). Thank you so much for posting this!

Sarah: Hey! Amazing tutorial! I just have one question: Does this work for wavy or curly hair? Or for thick hair?;) Xx

Tanja L: I've just cut my own hair and I'm extremely pleased with the result. Thank you so much! Greetings from Germany and all the best!

michkay1: I love this technique! Thank you for sharing!

Chengfu Saechao: I cut my own hair all the time because I've had bad experience at the salon. ...the worst thing was. I gave a picture to the hair stylist and she still didn't do it right. ....so now I always cut my own hair.if I screwed it up at least it's free.

Kenta Kabagiz: This is awesome, I was following along in the beginning but got lost when you started going vertical to connect the first set of layers.

MaryAlice Martinez: Awesome instructional video! Thank you it was a success doing my 15 year olds hair cut and layers as this!

yuridia gonzalez: Wow, beautiful haircut. I love your videos!! Thank you so much . You're an amazing instructor. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

Lisa Carson: It’s so hard to find someone who can really do great layers. You have it down and that is The Perfect Haircut.

Trevor Hart: Brilliant video! I used this tutorial to give my wife a layered cut and she loved the cut. And I'm a guy who doesn't know how to use a comb. Easy to follow and very logical.

Margaret Pena: OMG!!! That was an awesome explanation and demonstration of the haircut of my dreams!!!! Thank you!

Beverly Evans: i love this video it has really helped me a lot!! plzzzzzz could you do more videos exactly like this one on different lengths of hair.thank you so much x

Afifa Kath: I love this tutorial so much. I've done this cut on so many people and they love it and come back!! thank u!! and its so imformative

ericka steele: really love this cut i always get this cut and it is so true that your hair will let you know when something is not right!. when i get this cut my fav part is just running my fingers straight out from the mid top of my hair and it just all falls to pieces so evenly =)

TheSweetpea73: I started watching your haircut tutorial videos about 2-3 years ago and have been cutting my own hair. Thank you so much for sharing. I greatly appreciated it!

Lalah Woolever: I have to say you are definitely the best at tutorials period because you explain everything you did so well. I have learned more from you then anyone else out there. I’ve been a stylist for 18 years and I am still learning and I appreciate you so much. -Brad-

NICOLE LA PAIX: I’m a hairdresser but I just graduated in 2017 so I still consider myself a newbie & have many things to improve specially in haircuts. This is beautiful. This is the haircut my mom wants, I’ll make sure to follow this and get this done on my mom.

Berryz Bridge: I'm doing my first layered haircut tomorrow. This will be my guide. Thank you. Great cut

Irene Arifin-Lewis: i dont usually leave comments, but omg.... this is seriously the best tutorial. i watched this a second time while cutting my own hair, and it is the best haircut ive given myself! (not as awesome as the one done in the video of course) . Cant wait to try this on my daughter! Thank you!

Griselda Garcia: This is what I'm talking about! Perfect haircut!  This is why it is important to have a professional and dedicated stylist, wish I could live close to you (I am in texas), I would drive as many miles just to get my hair done by you, Congratulations!

pinkjenStewart: Wow! Great job!! I love the end result, so much bounce and volume! Every woman should have this.

Jacki B: I was not taught to cut layers that way but you really opened up my eyes to a new way of doing layers and I really enjoyed this video I loved it

Amy Lohmeyer: Your tutorials are so helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your craft.

margarita ramos: absolutely gorgeous, thanks so much for this...you also explain things so well

peacepedaler: Thank you so much, I have no training but was able to give my flat mate a really nice layered haircut, she is really happy with it! Thank you for posting this vid :)

chantaldegreef: It's perfect. You do a fantastic job. I just don't know why a lot of hairstylist just don't seem to get this style/haircut right. I went to a really high end hair salon in London and they just could not do it. Now I just do it myself and to be honest it's much nicer than I have ever had at a salon. Ridiculous as the technique is not too difficult to understand and this haircut you can crosscheck everything. Anyway, thanks for showing us how it is properly done. I only hope that a lot of hairdressers will watch it and learn from it.

Caroline Werle: I am in LOVE with this haircut!!!   It's SO pretty, and the perfect haircut!   :D

Joie Gardner: You make everything so much easier to understand love watching your videos they're really helping me in the salon!

Chris Denyer: Decent video, I imagine it's geared towards students. I suggest explaining what type of layering you're using and why, as well as elevations and over-directions, and using more professional lingo (i.e. It's the fringe, not "front" or "bangs," etc) it's one thing to describe what you're doing, but more effective to instill knowledge of why you're doing what you're doing. Anybody can copy a haircut, but to know why we do (or don't do) certain things is what distinguishes good from great.

Krisdina Jutras: This is perfect! Turning 51 tomorrow, and just needed something fresh, and new. Can't wait!

Joybelle Garcia: Gorgeous! It will fit my face shape and will conceal my real age (49) because medium length layers haircut is the best preferably for women in their 40's. Love it. Thanks for the video. Hope to see more in the future. :)

Amanda Butler: I got this exact hair cut today! I asked for long layers but ended up with this but loved the end result anyways! Great video!

Rhonda: I just used the comb cut technique on my daughter, thought I was doing it wrong because I wasn't holding it like a hairdresser.  It came out straighter for me.

andidance: It IS perfect!!! I love it! Perfect!!! Thank you! :)

TheAdinache: Great tutorial! This is the perfect hair-cut. I was wondering if you could  list the three  products you used or maybe post  a link to a site that sells them?Thank you !

Tammy McFee: Im trying this tomorrow on my niece! Love it! Easy to understand!

Paige: My dad did this haircut for me today and he says it was a helpful video and he has a lot of confidence now. thank you very much @thesalonguy

MsLisaparsons: Please please please accept my apology, I truly wasn't trying to b mean, I was frustrated from not being able to see some of the actual cutting. YOU ARE A HAIR GOD. I mean that. I am a HUGE fan, I've watched your videos over & over. Again my deepest apology. Btw, I completely agree with u, this is the perfect haircut!
