#Balding #Barber #Haircut

There were things i noticed that made me more self-conscious about it and i want to share those with you. It'S okay, we'll be back. Those guys are going for a haircut themselves, nine o'clock now 9. 10. 11. 12. So we've got three hours we're going to ikea. I think we'll grab a coffee and let's talk about this haircut, let's talk about it. What'S good people proper cheeky vlog set up today, i'm of the knowledge that ikea doesn't open until 10 o'clock, so let's go catch, a buzz with an espresso. I'M just going to be myself in this little video and tell you honestly like what i think about this hair. Why i got it done today? I want to thank chris who um bought this coffee for me chris. Thank you so much man. This is uh southampton on a friday morning, buzzing the choices, guys the choices, if you're wondering if i'm self-conscious walking around with this hair and again, i wanted to get out here in town and i've been to the gym, and i've been to my little russian class. Like this, i didn't just get it cut and then you know shave it off an hour later. In a nutshell, no i'm far more self-conscious about walking around town, filming myself on this camera. However, it's not quite as simple as that, because i didn't notice a lot of different like thoughts and feelings about it that i think are important to share. So we're going to do that, but not here because too noisy. So let's go find somewhere else where i can talk to you guys uh about this, maybe ikea. Actually, maybe ikea is the spot. You know it's. The first thing i want to talk about is like why. Why did i get this done and do i plan on having hair like this for a long time, and the answer is no like: i: will you pretty much rock a shaved head most of the time, because this is more maintenance? That'S not what i'm after you know that's an after, but it was a great challenge and it got people talking and it was quite polarizing made. People share their opinions on it and things like that, which is probably the main reason why i wanted to do this. Aside from other aside from challenging myself, which i'll talk a bit more about in a bit, but you either loved it, you loved the sort of ballsy-ness of it all or you hated it, and you were thinking like no. That looks ridiculous, not mad about anyone. Not sharing the same opinion, it got you guys talking and i liked that you know that was a big reason why i wanted to do this really was you know what a massive thing i need to do is thank dean down at mango mail grooming for actually Taking on this challenge, do you know what i mean um? I walked in there and i was like look. I don't want a shaved head and i don't want it to look like i'm trying to hide my thinning hair. You know again, comments were like. Why didn't you use the fibers or why don't you keep the hairline that wasn't what i wanted that wasn't what i was going for. I wanted to cut this in a way that is like styling, the proper thinning, fading hair and that's exactly what i got. He did exactly what i wanted and he did a great job of it and then um, let's sit down okay, i know it's maybe a little bit more boring to watch me sit and talk, but grab some food or something and um. I want to tell you the real reason, like the main thing that i found about this whole little experiment um, which is really interesting to me mate. How is it this busy already? Can i just get a regular cooked breakfast? Please yeah! No! Thank you. Thank you. Very much say: yes, sorry, that's it! Thank you! That'S what we got got a regular breakfast and a coffee. Please cheers this, definitely isn't what i had in mind. Oh my god, it's so hot. How is it so busy? I should say what i want to say. So i'm fishing around here and i hear which demonstrates really well the factor of i'm not self-conscious about this, but i do feel weird about filming out in public next question is: do i like it and the honest answer is yes? Okay. 100, like it, i like the look i like that i did it, but not because i think it looks really good. I do think it looks quite good, especially with the right clothes right like genuinely looks quite good, but more i like it. I, like the feeling of doing something that people expect you not to do or can't do or would be too embarrassed to do or too afraid to do. That has been the biggest thing for me that feeling of like i've done, i'm rocking a haircut like this and everyone's like. Oh, no looks awful i'd, never get that exactly how i felt when i shave my head for the first time. It'S like i felt like that was unconventional. Then this is like way more unconventional than that i felt like that was kind of unconventional and it pumps me up. It gets me like excited to do it. I'Ve take pride in doing that sort of thing, and that is literally the biggest thing i like about it. I use the term. It takes balls balls to kind of like mean confidence, but it totally does like. It takes confidence to do the kind of unconventional thing and when i was approaching that time of like i want to shave my head, then that is how i was feeling, and that is what got me pumped up to do it and that's exactly how i felt When i was out there rocking in the turtleneck chain on out in the coffee shop or whatever, like almost wanted, someone to say like dude, what is that, or what have you done to be like mate? Listen, you rock this. If you can do that, then we're on the same level here you know or wait, then come and talk to me. That was like how i felt about it, and i take pride in that. I do. I take pride in doing that and testing myself getting out. My comfort zone feeling a little bit uncomfortable to like, do something a bit different and um kind of against the grain, not in like an edgy way. The fact that people would never expect you to do this sort of thing is the reason why i loved it, and i got that feeling back um. It was great to feel that again because, like literally i can pinpoint it that's exactly how i felt when i shaved my hand for the first time i felt pumped to do the thing that everyone was like. No, you can't do that. Well, like most people, you know - or at least that's how i felt i felt most people be like. Oh, my goodness me, you're gon na shave, your head like what the hell. So that was a massive one for me now do i feel confident i want to talk on that a bit, but let me have a little bit more sausage. This was the next biggest thing that i kind of learned from this experience. There might be help some of you guys like, but do i feel confident walking around? Am i thinking about it most of the time no, like. I haven't really thought about it that much, but there was one thing that i noticed that it's really important to consider. If you're, just going with a normal shaved head or shaving head for the first time rocking the bowl, look for the first time and um, i went to the gym. I wear this it's winter now, so i wear this hat quite a lot just because my head gets cold right um, it's like green ugly, ass, woolly hat, but it serves a purpose in terms of keeps my head warm but walking to the gym. I was wearing that and i went in the gym with um the hat on like i normally do just to get warm and um. The gym was way busier than i thought it was going to be with loads of like young people younger than me. Like 20s, you know - and i guess they i had this hat on, and i noticed that i was apprehensive to take it off. I was anticipating, maybe some looks - maybe some reactions to be like bruh like what, because, obviously, when i got the hat on, i just look like i've got normal hair and i take it off and it's like whoa at least joe. I mean that's the story. I was telling myself in my head so obviously when i was just like dude, what are you like? Who are you and i just took the hat off? Like nothing happened? It was fine. I didn't i stopped thinking about it, but that was really telling for me because i never did that in the first place, but because you've got this new thing honestly guys the longer you you don't just get out there and put yourself out there with this new Look or whatever the worse it gets the worse that feeling builds up until you build up into this massive thing, and that was really really interesting for me where, because i had this happen because i had it covered up and like no one could see it, i Knew they had this like a little secret under my hat um, i was more worried not that people were going to think it looked like terrible. I didn't want people to think that i did like deliberately cut my hair to make it look like i was losing it. It'S so weird that i was thinking those things and it's because i had this hat on and i didn't want people to like, and i didn't want people to see it, but i was building it up in my head. It'S just another massive piece of advice like if you shave your head for the first time or whatever don't cover it up, get it out there and as soon as you do, everything's fine, so we've had some cheap coffee and cheap breakfast way. All right, i got ta get the dogs at half 12, so i'll just come after that. Should i that's what i want. I need those also want that, but not right. Now, according to the geezer that works here, they are uh totally out of stock. So i um - i definitely came for no reason. Okay, guys it is 11 46. Never in my wildest dreams did i imagine that ikea would be out of stock of their beautiful paper lampshades, but we've got a backup option that bad boy right there, the classic b and q and to be fair, it's a good job, because i also need a Perspex sheet for all this to fit together, this is something of a vlog guys. What do you think of this here on this youtube channel, we're vlogging and i'm trying to give you my opinions? To be honest, i totally lost what track of all the stuff. I was going to say about the hair and whatnot um. Do you like the chain? What do you think of this vlogging? What do you think of this camera? Let me know if you're still watching, i think we can get what we want over here and the lighting set up just about doing it more someone just looked at me in the car park, then i was like what's that guy doing, but the more you do. I think the more you don't give a [ __ ], the more you don't care again what beautiful metaphors. So this is kind of fun. To be honest, there we go four quid so good when you can just bloody do what you want to do. One two three of those guys absolutely sorted. You know what my mate nathan sorted us right out, exactly what we needed, our lamp shades and our 22 quid shoot per specs nathan. If you're watching this mate legend absolute legend, always were a bloody nice guy, and i appreciate that so here we are we're sorted right. This is weird now this has become something i didn't think it was going to be. But that's what happens? I guess i'm sure. I'M getting shouty, i totally lost track of what i was saying about the hair and stuff like that, because i was just having fun vlogging but yeah in terms of like the hair and stuff. You know what it's been a great little experiment. It really has, and those two main takeaways, that i've got that challenge that thing where people expect you to be embarrassed or they expect you to be ashamed of it. I love that feeling, and i love challenging that, and you should too it feels great. Like take pride in in maybe someone else take pride in thinking take pride if someone is like, oh, be embarrassed, i'd be embarrassed like that. Well, you know what mate you might be embarrassed like that, but i'm not that's how you should feel all right and feel proud like that and the second thing, but don't hide, don't hide you've, nothing to hide. Put yourself out there, the more you hide the more uncomfortable you feel, the more apprehensive you're going to be about re, revealing it the more stories, the more apprehensive things are going to be. In your mind, thinking they're going to come out or someone's going to say something, the crazy of those things that you think people are going to say get in your head. The minute i ripped that hat off. I was free and i was proud and it feels great will. I go back to the shaved head. Yes, okay, of course, i'll be going back to the shaved head. That'S like my signature. It'S just to be honest. It'S just the easiest thing to do. You know it's the it's i'm all about the hassle-free and that's certainly hassle-free, but i think, if dressed right, you totally pull this look off. So if you fancy a change, give yourself the double blend: go down. The barbers ask yourself for that. Show him the video he'll know exactly what to do and um just have fun with it guys have fun with it. I hope you enjoyed this video. Let'S go see how the dogs are looking boy,

naughtyIcicle: Idk why but you in this haircut give out the vibes of an extremely successful person whom I would most probably meet at Paris on Fashion Week.

LEONidas spartan: After 3 years struggling with baldness, feeling miserable, insecure, depressed, yesterday I decided that I had enough, so I shaved my head. All I can say is that all the burden has gone away, I feel free, reborn, self- accepted. I can’t express my gratitude enough to you Harry and all the positivity of this whole community. I could not have done it without all of you. THANK YOU

Dan Johnson: I was team bald exclusively at first but actually after giving it a little time, I think you're on to something with this cut. As mentioned by one of your other comments, it has a bit of an eccentric vibe I didn't expect. The only hold back is I think the fade needs to be a little shorter on top of the sides. It looks slightly 'top heavy' and with tighter fade that'd smooth it out and take it to that clean cut 'fashion designer look'.

Owen Burge: I love this haircut. I don’t have the same balding pattern but if I did I’d give it a try. Great video as usual.

Zglrd: Owning it has always been a part of your charm, no matter what, it, is.

David Rodriguez: Me personally wouldn't have the confidence to rock this haircut. I feel more confident clean shaven every second day. But I totally understand your point to this experiment.

Wavy Dane: it honestly looks extremely good

Daniel Bach: I really enjoy these videos where you share you thought process. It's extremely inspiring.

Róbert Kovács: It actually looks fire and makes your face less rounded. It's a big YES from me.

Logan M: Bro, you look like a right boss. A huge component of this is self-confidence. Certain styles such as comb-overs or anything trying to hide balding just kind of transmit self-consciousness to the people around you. However, when you own what you got and make the best of it like this cut, a buzz, or clean shave, it displays a massive amount of confidence and charisma.

Nursultan Tulyakbay: It’s the year 2031. The Double Blend is the most popular haircut in the world. Everyone, from Korean boy bands to teenagers around the world, is going to their barber and asking for the DB. And it’s all thanks to this man!

mieHæk: “We suffer more often in imagination that in reality” — Seneca

Elijah Smith: Also, this for me is one of your best videos, the visual storytelling and the editing and the atmosphere. It's great. It'll be hard to beat, but it doesn't need to be beaten. Your normal quality is great too. But this is surprisingly artful

benchabane hocine: Baldcafe this is what I always wanted to tell you. Being bald doesn't necessarily mean to have it off! Many guys look great with this kind of hair cuts including yourself

Andrew: You will always get people who don't like something. What matters is that you like it. Personally, I think it suits you.

Kyle S: You're absolutely right - with the right outfit, on YOU, this haircut works. It does seem high maintenance, but it suits you.

Stephen Hamilton: Nearly 50 and graduated from a full shaved head to this same type of cut. Wish I had done it sooner, because it suits me better than a fully shaved head. Kudos to you Harry. I see a lot of comments saying you are "selling out". These guys are missing the point of your channel, I think. Accept what you have and find the look you are most confidant and comfortable with.

Jonne H.: I really like these kind of vlog-like videos every now and then as well! So much fun to kind of see the every-day-life, very chill vibes throughout the video :)

J Martinez: For the past year I was shaving my head every half a week, but after I watched this HBO tv series "High Maintenance" where this actor played by Ben Sinclair (who is one of the creator I think) rocks a VERY very long balding hair and honestly... he look very handsome and confident! so right now I'm trying to let my balding hair grow and see if I can rock a hair that messy in a confident way. I actually think that, when you (Harry) let your hair grow as long as you had it before your haircut, you were looking pretty good too!

Ashtone: You look good, Harry. I'm glad you keep learning and overcoming insecurities or stepping out of your comfort zone. We learn a lot with your videos and they serve as motivation or challenges

Thomas Carty: Love this vlog brother ❤️ Right in the feels.

Rob Horgan: I get what you were trying to accomplish and kudos to you for going through with it, but I’ve always been very grateful that I went bald at a time when it was socially acceptable to shave one’s head. The very thought of having to wear a haircut like that fills me with anxiety and I hope that never again becomes the default look for bald men.

Abrhm: I love the part that "Let the doubters pump you up" hell yeah it does, It's like the negativity fuels the positivity that you bring Harry and I love it. Love from the Philippines brother

G W: I reckon that haircut just needs different facial hair. The Sean Connery moustache that he used to rock. The one that comes down the sides of the mouth? It would be mint with that.

Wez FTW: There's a very stylish element to that cut, like you said in the video it compliments certain clothes and certain clothes compliment it so well.

Alaskan Whiskey: Bro why is people hating on this man's haircut? It's his choice if he wants to fade it like that. I got a hard part for my hair and people said it's a terrible look. Still did it anyway. Don't listen to what society considers haircut norms.

Daniel: Great video, Harry Couldn't agree more that stepping out of your comfort-zone is rewarding and gratifying...and you really pull this look off! Rocking and feeling comfortable with an unconventional look not only is confidence boosting, but gives other people permission to face and embrace their insecurities. All the best and love what you do!

Sergio Santos: It does look great, man. I mean... like you said in the other video, specially when we know how the previous generation rocked their balding hair without going full bald or buzz cut... And rocking a haircut like this takes a lot of self awareness of being bald, probably even more than fully shaving our hair if we were to do it to kind of hide we're losing our hair, right? And yeah, lots of us just buzz cut or shave our heads because it's just a lot easier than going to a saloon for the high maintenance a power donut (lol, that is a really cool name) would take. So, keep the great vids, bro. Greetings from the other side of the world.

Dean Gleeson: My man! Wearing that cut with confidence. I think you summed it up perfectly, this haircut wasn’t to find you a new style, it was to allow people the chance to voice there opinions. Nothing but respect for you dude, bring on the next experiment

Norwood reaper: “Made me more self conscious about it, and I want to share those with you” (Shows a video of a hairy dog crying)

Ry Ho: Something about it comes off as Chad, I'm a barber myself and I personally don't like the look of it on its own but something about the way you're rocking it idk I feel like you need a massive gold chain to go with it

Matt Butcher: Hey Man, just found your channel. Been growing my hair for about 2 and a bit years, last 2/3 months the better half noticed it thinning. Your channel gave me the confidence to shave it off. Went with a grade 4…too long! Gone down to a 2 and even now I think it’s too long! I’ve got a 3 years worth of beard hanging off my chin though, so I think it looks pretty good. Again, thanks for the confidence your channel has given me, keep up the great work brother.

Stefan Creates: Definitely wouldn't mind more vlog style content ;)

Ajmal Jay: Damn Harry. The quality of the videos are insane these days. ❤️

Chris Mccabe: Love this video. It's like talking to a friend. No matter what haircut or clothes you wear, somebody will have a negative response. As you said several times, face life with confidence and bravery. Be the best you that you can be. Cheers!

Coffee: I get made fun of for being "like a monk" for having my mid-fade/bowlcut look and I have a FULL HEAD OF HAIR! I've got nothing but respect for you for rocking this look. Nice one!

Neeks: Honestly I think it looks good. You rock it man. I felt the exact same way when I first shaved my head, like you described

Paul Zollinger: So, I think it looks real good, but the maintenance part is a turn off for me. I wonder if using a one or two on the sides and using a razor on the top, would look nearly as good and qualify as being a lot easier to maintain?

Stevie Avalon: love the vlogs. more day in the life as opposed to a covered topic would be a good change to see once in a while

Pete: Liking the vlog style. Love your general attitude towards everything. Fair play!!

Jonathan S: Great camera. Great vlog. Great learnings. Great haircut. Overall = great. Haircut isn’t socially accepted because it’s unconventional. Maintenance is the only thing that would put me off.

lildjm06: You're a legend. Plus glad you're getting the beard really balances your face better

pattgsm: That is a fresh cut. Makes me think this guy knows what he’s talking about. A confident man has no problem w/ going high and tight or clean all over.

Stephen Casey: That breakfast ordering cinematography was top notch

SigillumSanguis: This is a "Power CEO" look with the right drip. But way too high maintenance and just not as clean as the good old full shave.

ObiWon Kevobi: Vlogs are dope mate, gives us a chance to connect with you on more than just a “hey we’re bald” way. Keep on! The ability to not give a f*ck about what outsiders will think is truly an awakening feeling. We all have our own shit to worry about.

SilentViolent: I love this vlog as it confirms how much I dispise IKEA having F all in stock These days and it being a pain in the arse long waste of time to visit and find out ! The camera quality was noticeably improved - new camera? It’s a keeper if so , Tutrtle neck and chain is an almighty power look ! More vlogs

James Ellison: gets traditionally silly hair cut Turns 99% of people onto it True sigma grindset

Felice Cancellara: You look good, it’s all in the mind, If you think you look good: surprise! You gonna look good thanks for the positive vibes

Paul Marcus: Ah mate amazing video. The whole taking your hat off in the gym and feeling self conscious is how I felt shaving head for first time. Wondering why no one actually cares how you look when you worry so much what people think. Well done for testing yourself with the fade - keep it shaved though

Matt Singh: Hi Harry, found this video and the previous one really inspiring, honestly. You truly are doing a good thing engaging this topic that is so real for many. Respect to you brother

Alan Turing: A step up in editing / quality in videos, doesn’t go unnoticed keep it up

Daniel Cohen: This haircut looks very good on you. It looks better than a full head of hair

Joery Van Damme: Confidence will always have to be on the number one spot in social situations. if people sense that you are confident, no one is going to mention what u look like. Those with low self esteem might talk thrash behind your back (not to your face), and a confident person might give you a sincere compliment. Love the video's! As always keep 'em coming :)

Don't Quit Persevere: U got balls bro, it goes back to the high school basketball player who rocked this style.

Bits n Bobs: From 16-24 I had my fair share of woman. By the age of 24 I was receding and thinning on top. Was in a relationship until 30, shaved my head and haven't been with a woman for almost 5 years. The amount of hoops I'd need to jump through to compensate for it just isn't worth it anymore

Moh: Thanks for sharing my message Not a fan of the two tone blended hair, what would look good is a day or 2 growth after a clean head and face shave, the hair blending with the beard Is what I would rock and then shave all off again on the 3rd day.

Craig Morrison: Personally, I don't mind the vlogging, but I feel if you do go down that route then it should be centred around something much like today's topic. In my opinion, of course. Btw, you look badass with the cut. Kinda like Hawk of the Road Warriors haha

Ash LaCroix: I still personally think you look great like this, but to each their own xD

Ben Briggs: Your an absolute legend love the videos ! Don’t think you realize how helpful they are

TwoHeadedFetus: What makes it so great is that the top is blended into the sides as well, because it actually plays into the shape of the horseshoe instead of trying to mask it

D. M.: Okay! Keep living and forget about what others think about you losing your hair or haircut! More than 50% of men experience male-pattern baldness —all over the world!

Iron Pineapple: This haircut is awful, but it looks better because you’re in shape and have a good wardrobe.

Eman Bayat: Double blend, shaved head, or any other choice. Baldcafe is invincible at the end of the day. That is a fact.

TROLL: A fades a fade at the end of the day. I can see how some people might think that you're not really owning being bald, but this is different, and you can also own what you got. I think some negative lines with the fade could be explored as well

yasin hassan: Loveee this style of video Harry!!!

Donna Dipal: I personally think u rock it coz of your confidence and personality

Joshua Ballensky: I just put my baldness on my friends and say "It must be nice to style your hair however you like and to have a dad." Makes it fun being bald.

buzzukfiftythree: I think the cut suits you very well. When I was growing up in the 50s and 60s this was about as short as a bald man would go. You look distinguished but as you really rock the bald shaved look I'd say that is your best look.

BJJ and Lift: I found the story about going to the gym in a hat story very interesting. I used to always wear a hat to hide my thinning hair yet now I’ve shaved my head I never wear hats and just think, this is me

Philip Steeves: Try a number 1 all over, including the beard, and just shave for definition on the beard! Effortless to maintain, you can do it at home, effortlessly! No fades to worry about, if you want to feel more bearded leave it a bit longer! It’s a breeze!

Sound of Today: Harry looks great too with that hairstyle

BlueSky: I love this kind of video! ♥

Joshua Doyle: The whole point Harry did this is to feel less dependent on his hair and more dependent one himself.

Anton Gallo: Mate can you try a 2-day stubble with 0-guard buzzcut. And then just let it grow for like 2-3 days and keep tidy linings. The beard and the hair stay matching, it’s pretty cool tbh.

Gavin Bridges: Best part of this video was the proper in depth chat suddenly changing to "But first let me have some more sausage"

recember: This hairstyle reminds me of a high level Russian mob boss, and that’s badass

Steve says so: My brother has had this exact haircut for the past 10 years or so. He couldn't give a monkeys about style. He just likes going to the barbers every now and then. Honestly, the moment people have the confidence to just do them, the moment they start living.

Lionel Mandrake: Honestly I like this vlogging thing you got going. It's relaxing

Leonski85: If it is something you like, then screw everyone else. I think the fact you have the confidence with it, you can pull it off. Respect man.

Andrej Garbar: Yeah man, looks great actually! Rock it on!

VisualExplorerAd -#GETWELLHENRY! : You're a lovely guy. Thanks for all you do. Be yourself, after-all, it's you we subscribe to see. :)

Jack: I actually think it looks good. It makes you look more mature and sophisticated. Out of interest, why are you learning Russian and how are you finding it? I've been considering learning it too.

Joris Van Imhoff: i reckon it looks great! - be cool if you do an asymmetrical vibe - where u blend it in into the half horseshoe or even hard edge

Jacopo Balia: I do like the idea of you talking whilst doing your daily things, it takes that time to reflect the things you said without losing the train of thought

Darkshadow: This hair cut reminds me of the balding hair option on the Sims, do not ever do it again

Zain Ali: I like your hairstyle you really do rock it. U look alright bald too but I prefer this to be honest changing the style up like we do with full head of hair, that's how it should be. Fresh new look.

Lionel: 7:55 literally loled . That was great

Michael jabez: Love from India ❤️ Inspiring me more and more ✨❤️

RJ Carter: Being proud is a good thing as long as it's for something good.

SpaceGod102: I really think it looks badass. I dont think it looks ridiculous at all. Maybe because nobody wears it like that it feels kind of original. But the shaved head also suits you very well. Dont really understand the hate but then again there's people liking a shaved face or ppl that rather have the beard. Its all preference I think.

Jason Baxter: You Rock! Keep Inspiring man.

ToFarApart: I like it mate. For me it screams, "fuck all, i'm doing me." I think of Jason Statham and people like that. This is what helped me when balding. I do it for me.

Martyn: loved the overlapping audio segment in the ikea café that was well cool. i enjoy the vlogs keep it up

Elijah Smith: The beard is looking awesome and cosy and rugged. The camera game has been stepped up too

Bald DeGea: Stephen Ogg, the actor has a really good attitude to balding man. You should check out his haircut.

Balkaar B: Haircut suits you, especially with the short beard and the clothes you are wearing. Great idea trying something new

Awais Hannan: That was really a unique haircut, new look

Леонид Гончар: The new format is nice! I like it. The only thing that has to be fixed is focusing on your camera. It would be much better

Mister Pete: It looks silly but it was a quality move
