#topictakeover #hairstylists #badhaircuts

Let'S find out what our real fam wants to chat about, because this is topic takeover [ Applause, ], all right, pam underscore mates. Have this to say: hair salon dramas. Why do hair stylists act shady with clients if they decide to switch over to another stylist? To do their hair in the same salon. Ladies pam needs answers on this. Let'S also talk about a few other issues that we've had to deal with at the salon, because that is a place where a lot of things can go down. If i say trim my hair, it does not mean cut. My hair shrimp is light. My trim is just trim it to keep it healthy, not cut it. When i was a teenager, i had. I was going up for a pageant and my mother took me to the hair salon and uh my hair was down to here. I came back, it was up to my ears. Oh my god, my mom was so upset. I was crying it's the end of the world. Yeah a trim is a trim people. Yes, i feel you on that. I don't even say trim at this point, i'd be like dust, my ends, it's like it's like just sliver slippers. I don't want to see it. Do one and then let me see it because i'm gon na turn around and be like. Okay, we're good keep going. Okay, you know what i mean. That'S a good thing. Yeah! Don'T do that too much though okay um. I think that when you start with one stylist and then you turn around and you change yeah yeah, that's like you know, changing boyfriends or changing girlfriends. It hurts people's feelings and stuff. So you have not that deep, though sometimes you're changing yes, that makes them question their own workplace yeah. This is what she said. It'S offensive it's their work, doing hair is their art form right. That'S literally, like you saying i don't like your art anymore and i'm choosing to go to someone else. It can be hurtful. I know unless you go hey you weren't available and i really needed to get it done. That'S different, that's different, so you could go the curve covert way, which i've told friends um to do, which is find the day that the hairstylist is not working and then book the other one that's shape, that's not what i'm i'm advising i'm advising tell them like. Hey i'm in the mood to try like different stylists. So do you mind if i try? Michael? Oh? No, yes, oh she's, right! That'S the right way to be up front, but it's still gon na hurt their feelings and that's that's not my problem. The last thing is: no, it's not please. I just want to know your prices up front before i sit in the chat. I don't want to get at the end. You start looking at your bills. Go okay! My light bill is 50. 3863., like what and some places charged for washes that you didn't know about and yes, okay. Well, then i wasn't going to wash my hair i'm going to go home ratty! Just like okay. How about this? Do you tip the stylist and the person shampooing your hair? I do i do too yeah tip everybody that you're taking care of, but just give us a heads up. You guys. So we know what we're spending

R.K Collection: I think we deserve the whole episode on YouTube cmon now

Esmie Molina: OMG I DIEEEDD when Jeannie said "That's not my problem."

Mak: I AGREE A % with Jeannie! Just coz it’s their “art form” that doesn’t mean you have to like it and continue to go to them if you’re not happy with your results.

LesleyM: I am with Jeannie because times are hard, and I am not about to throw my money away on something I don't want or need. Some stylists even have the nerve to charge extra for "ethnic" hair types.

S Smith: I like Jeannie's take on this. It isn't our problem if we want to try someone else. Obviously we aren't happy with their "art form".

Sabrina Valenzuela: Yeah, I agree with Loni. I love all of my hair stylists out there, but some of the prices can be outrageous. A $50 detangling fee, an extra $20 because your hair is long, an $80 deep conditioning fee. It’s just… a lot. Please be upfront and transparent with your customers before they commit to the service. And if you’re advertising your services online, because have reasonable and transparent pricing displayed, and please consult with your clients during the consultation about said prices. Because some hair stylists really do try and add extra fees at the cash register when you go to pay, and I’ve been blindsided like that before. It sucks.

Purple Cow Movement: Hairstylist jealousy is a REAL thing

Supi Aulakh: I agree with Jeannie!! It’s their job and people will come and go. Some may switch up cause of your work, others might because of your availability, and others might because of your price point. It all comes with the job and you’d just have to learn to move on and keep treating your current clients like queens!!

AlleyKatt*61: My hair, my decision. Some stylists get lazy with your hair after they’ve been doing it for awhile….. I reserve the right to go to whom ever I choose!

Simply Savv: So funny, I'm a stylist and I do not get offended if my client chooses a different stylist. Just don't get guilty conscious about it its okay to say hello lol

Tisch: Jeannie is right, its your job and your personal feelings are not my problem.

Ashlie Elizabeth: As a hair stylist myself, IM WITH JEANNIE!! I never understood the outrageous pricing. Especially stylists not being upfront and honest with clients the minute you walk in the salon or after the service is completely done and you get charged a $1000. Like $20 extra if you have med-long hair, lets tack on another extra if you have hair down your back. WHAT?! (Sidenote: if someone switches stylists, there's no need to be awkward about it. It's not that deep. We all have our own preferences!) I understand not everyone has the funds. And we all have bills to pay. But for me, everyone gets the same price regardless of their ethnicity and hair length/type (example: all over color is $55--applies for everyone). Stylists, please be honest with your clients and let them know the total cost upfront of what they want done

Chisom Agbara: I been going to the same barber since I was 10 years old (22 now) and he’s moved to three different locations during that time frame and I moved to each location he moved to. I live in Maryland he works in dc and it’s a drive but once you find a barber, you don’t ever leave that barber (unless u life like across country or something)

Ash: I just went through this. I went from just above my tailbone to mid back and i only asked for a trim!

Kamoier - KAMI: Loni looks soo cute in her glasses!! No eyes shadow or lashes. She's gorgeous!

Fake Account: Loni was scared when Jeannie turned around quickly like that

San: I'm team Jeannie. I can't count the times I have settled on things to spare the feelings of others. Those days are gone, if I'm spending my money I'm going to get what I want. Also some hairstylists do not keep their styling relevant and up to date.

Hash: 99% will cut your hair off and thin it out so they can convince you that you need to buy hair extensions from them

Mahogany Bryant: Once I find a good stylist I stick to them! I appreciate good service and quality hair care. But things do happen so it’s probably a good idea to have a plan B

Adetunde Babs’s: If my hard earned money is involved, I think, I have a right to change my mind on who is doing my hair, am with Jeannie.

El: I dont need to let my stylist know if I'm switching stylists. It's my hair and my life. Clients aren't possessions!

Meagan Bianca: I don’t even go to the hair salon no more because it’s ALWAYS STRESSFUL! I either am growing my curls down past my ass or I go to the barber and shave my head. I have done both several times.

Sasha Svengali: I was an assistant and It’s part of the hazing in the salon world. Assistants do all the grunt work, clean, help, and finish styles sometimes to keep stylist balanced and on schedule … I used to get cheap tippers or non tippers as an assistant and I’m just gonna say, we remember who you are… always be kind to people serving your food, hair , nails etc…

Ruby G: I agree with Jeannie, it’s our money and we should be able to choose who we want to do our hair and if that means trying out another stylist, then so be it. ❤️

BlackDiamond8724: That was soooo good Loni!! Please tell me your prices beforehand. I hate when they are changing prices and switching up. smh.

tryin2beeHappy GoLucky: And tip more than 15% to your salon professional. They worked magic on our hair, so don't be cheap, and give them a small tip! Be generous! There's nothing wrong with leaving a 30% tip.

Sassy_Muffin: Wow I never knew tipping hairstylists was a thing. In my country Dominica in the Caribbean, the same person who does the hair washing is the one who styles and there’s a standard price for everything. So wash only would be one price, wash n style, etc

Bria Barrows: This definitely exists and this is why I have my one hairdresser who I love and actually made my hair flourish. Find a good hairdresser and stick beside them. Cause some of them be wanting to cut your hair for real.

Marina Maxy: All the ladies of the real are game on with thier fashion...damn stunning!

Subbox Junkie: I don’t understand why they are so shady about pricing. Some don’t want to tell you until the end and adding up everything they did including the length of the hair taken into consideration for the bill. I just never go back to that salon if I didn’t like there service. So it’s their loss not the customer.

Syro: For guys, finding a great hairstylist is hard so whenever we find someone that is really great we ain’t cheating on them with another lol

Myronn Coleman: Listen barbers be the same way the way sum of my friends talk about the way their barbers be filling betrayed like they’ve been cheated on lol

Jel Bas: Adrienne looks SO good

tryin2beeHappy GoLucky: I had to find new hair dressers because: 1. She was always chit chatting on her cellphone. 2. She had me sit under the hair dryer for very long periods of time, while she started doing the next client's hair. She damaged my hair, and possibly my scalp. 3. When i used her to do my hair on my wedding day, she was very rude. She was a total narcissist. 4. I've left many because after my first visit, they would wait for me to come to the appointment, then let me know that "they HAD to raise their price". They could've told me on the phone, but instead they put me on the spot. I've been so disappointed by too many, because some care more about themselves, than their clients. Instead of them doing Everything professionally the way they were trained, there are some stylists that are somewhat "abusive", or hateful. Like, they have done things halfway, or as i call it, "half-assed". Now, most stylists will be Very professional, and almost make you feel pampered. Then, there's some that seem like they don't care. It always shocks me when a hair dresser's hair is a mess! It's usually young people. I find it to be completely unprofessional, bad attitude, and ridiculous.

Khandi Baugh: All of the above. Scissor happy stylist. Stylist highballing me after my hair was done. And there was a time when I didn’t tip the shampoo person because I didn’t know I figured the stylist wanted the help so the stylist paid them ‍♀️

the goldenbowl: @2:01 that made me laugh when the lady said No to Jennines idea ...like the stylist is not gonna be ok with that

Tiara Washington: You should Never be intimidated by changing stylist its all Love!!! Sometimes people just don't match your chemistry.. Like a Bad boyfriend or something! #Fact if you Love what you do its all Good! To many clients to be over protective over one!.... As a Stylist I Love All HAIR. #MoreHair.. #MoreHair!

Desi: This is why I tried to make sure I don't go to the same salon for a different person. But now idc. I go to the same exact shop as my former stylist to a new one. I dare her to say something. Ima tell her the truth. My silk out was a mess

Yuri: I love Garcelle, but she always starts talking first without waiting for other girls speak. 9 out of 10

Some Name: ppl saying that ur gonna hurt ur hairdressers feelings or offend that you don't like their artform is dumb because this is YOUR HAIR and only YOU need to like it so it should be the way YOU WANT IT since YOU'RE the one that has to WEAR IT around ppl get toio easily offended and news flash you don't have to take offense to anything if you don't want to ( it ain't necessarily even about you)

Antwan Pena: My brother is a barber so I’m all good with the free cuts ☺️

Annaiis Wilkinson: Omg this is soo real Garcelle. And no I didn’t have high split ends.

Shervyse Smiles: To this day I only trust 1 stylist and myself to trim my hair

Julianna Moreno Attleson: I would love for you guys to put the girl chats on Spotify or a podcast type.

BritBrit Nicole: I love Adrienne’s out

mscstapleton: I'm with Jeannie!! Not my problem!

Winter Santiago: I received my worst haircut from a stylist in a salon. Hating asz Bish!

Raquel Correa: That’s why I do my own hair. Every time I specify what I like and what I want they make my hair so uneven and I am pretty sure it’s bc they don’t know how to cut thick hair.. like come on

Valerie Natalie Mbulo: Jeannie's changed y'all! I don't know how I feel about it (not that it matters lol) but DAMN sis!!!

Bathroom Diaries: I must be broke because the same person who washes my hair is the same person that does my hair looooool

Endyahh Lat: I have a real question! Do you still tip if the stylist is working out of their house and the hair isn’t included? Because in my hair if you’re making 150 in three hours what am I tipping for it’s not like you’re a waitress making less than minimum wage and live off of Tips

Anissa: sorry if I wanna try another stylist I sure am. You shouldn't take it personally. A lot of times when I change is because I was loyal to a stylist and they don't know how to admit they don't know how to do a particular hairstyle then have me looking crazy and I still have to pay for it

Karen S: I think the prices going up since Covid because I wanted to dye my hair solid red color going from brown to red . I called two salons and their price ranges were 130 and up like really ? That’s how much highlights are .. no thanks I’ll stick to Sally’s lol

Bianca Ionescu: I'm not shady cuz they come back crying with a Desaster on their head

Christiane K.: Those women are popping today!!!

Bohlale Nchabeleng: I don't owe anybody anything, I can change the stylist if I want to.

JazPower1: 22 secs in. ITS CODE and that’s that ! Take yo a** somewhere else ! Also another reason some people like to pocket watch and sh*t start to become a not so friendly work place it’s plenty reasons why it’s a problem. You can only if I’m off work or booked and it’s a recommendation of somebody I know and truth that’s not gone mess your hair up.

Anecia Bernard: Look at aunty loni not wanting jeannie to move... and if you want a new stylist go to a different salon or say it to their faces

M A G N O L I A: I only go to one person and I nag them about the length every second. Lolll

Ranita Gadling: It's hilarious to hear the. discuss this topic when the only two that I think are actually wearing their real hair this season are Jeannie ( at least until she has the baby & garcelle)

Marathon Blu: Jeannie’s turning into a JeanNisha

Deniera Adams: Can I have Adrienne’s outfit

lei jen: With Loni about the prices

CC : I think they needed to put it in a topic Jeannie could empathize with bc she was kinda harsh. When Jeannie was a stylist on the come up what if she had done a bunch of work for a celebrity client in creating their red carpet look and then all of a sudden they got nominated for a Golden Globe. Jeannie starts creating looks and pulling pieces for the big awards show only to find out her client decided to go to another stylist. It's the same thing with hair stylists. Hair is their livelihood and they do feel some type of way when you let someone else do your hair or touch your hair. They really are the only profession that behaves this way. My doctor doesn't get an attitude if I change practices. Restaurants don't mind if you go to a different eatery.

Mon Bhandari: Why not whole episode on YouTube. Not time for tv so we can watch whenever got time .

Blessed Nelago: Adrianne outfit cute

Focus Group Films Inc: its your “their work” but uts my hair!

Khizott_MaeMae: Adriennes outfit hurts my eye.

Tiara Washington: Unless your my dudes side piece!!! Now we have a problem..

Bohlale Nchabeleng: You do sh*t on my hair and I ain't paying for it.

Kusa Mkhize: Love A outfit

Latoya Rouse: So you all are tipping the stylist too? Bear in mind I am not American so I did not even know that was a thing. Don't you just pay the person for the service?

Janet Benson: I hope garcell didn't pay that hair dresser

Jennifer Bess: I just want to say not because big clothing is in style it’s not for everyone body type

wendy fan: Can anyone tell me what channel the original air time show is in New York? I know it was always after Wendy channel 5 at 11a.m. Now its 5p.m. please help thank God for yt but if I can catch it earlier that'd be great! Thanks!

sophia amina: I lived in a group home and we all shared our clip ins lol

jen s: Adriennes outfit aint it tho

Rsvltdiva: If you are always late yeah if you don’t get what you ask for then yeah switch stylist.

Cassidy Breezy: Heyyy guys❤️

Alicia: Jeannie needs stop bending and twisting like that. Poor kid in there. Jesus

JazPower1: Jeannie y’all all family members in the salon. So you don’t count

lisage: Tip??

RRIDAFITNESS: ✌️

Zee: Loni doesn’t look good here. She looks like someone’s grandma here. They did her wrong with this look.

Lipstick Nista: .
