Hey guys, so a few of you have requested for me to do a tutorial, how to cut parables for beginners. So I'm just going to show you what you'll need is a pair of clippers. You can get them at Walmart or any of your any grocery store. Just make sure that you get regular size, Clippers, comm guards funny other things that you'll need are a pair of sharp scissors, I'm not sure to stay away from kitchens. There'S a vocational career, okay, so pair of sharp scissors you can get from the craft store or I'm sure you can Walmart and then you're also going to need a comb and a spray bottle. So with cutting the back and the sides of the hair you're going to want to use a guard to make sure that it's an even haircut and I'll just explain the guards here. So if you're, using a one, that's going to need the closest haircut and the numbers go up from there. So this is the larger size guard being a number four. I would recommend to start off with a number four if you've never cut hair before you want to make sure that you're, just starting off by just taking a little bit little bit of hair off at a time just so you can get comfortable and some kids Also have them going up to an eight. You could start off with that too, but generally, the majority of short men's haircut usually we're between a 2 to a 3. So you're gon na want to make sure that your client completely now what I normally do is get them to just rinse their head at the sink. So it's completely dim and then I have my spray bottle close by and otherwise it will be an even haircut. It'S not completely saturated, so I'm going to go in with my clippers. I have a level three guard on it and what we're going to do is we're going to hold it this way and we're going to carve up and out up until the occipital bone, which is where the head curves so right about here. We'Re gon na carve up and out all along evenly, so I'll show you and you can start at the bottom if you're a little nervous to go higher, and so again I have a level three guard. If you're wanting it to be a little bit longer than that, then I would put a four on or higher I'm just slowly working my way up getting a little bit closer it'll go in there. I'M just gon na leave that for now and come along to the side, so this here don't feel afraid to move their ear. If you're too scared to do that, you can get your clients and pull down their ear just going out of your way. It is curving along to the side of the head and then here as you're, coming to the side, you're gon na go up to about where the temple area is here. So try not to go any higher. Show you again that same motion barb up and out, and it's okay to go over it a few times to with the guard. It'S not gon na create an uneven threat with it on I'm gon na do the same thing to the other side. Looking around the back again, I might want to bring that up just a little bit higher. It should look something like that and then next I just took the guard off of my Clipper next, I'm just going to do the parameter of the hair. So I'll have your client looks down. So what we're going to want to do is just curling up the back here, so how I like to start. I take my comb and I go to where and as a Caroline is here and I'm just gon na cut that all the way around. So it's nice, and even and I'm holding my comb still just pivoting along the hairline and you're gon na hold your clippers. The other way this time. So you can get a clean cut and it's okay. It won't hurt this skin, I'm actually going to pull the lever down, so it's even closer and then, as you come up to the side here, I'm putting my comb on an angle where it meets from here to here and you're, just gon na cut that off. I'M gon na do the other sighs there we go and then you can do the cleanup to the neck. Next, we're gon na come along to the side of the head and have said straight and you're gon na do the same thing. This is where you'll want to be a little bit more careful because you're gon na hold down the ear or have them hold it down for you and we're just gon na curve, using the tip of the Clipper and just get the edge there. Try not to go too high or else it'll and while I'm here and it could go and cut into sideburn beers the other side and do the same so now we're done using the Clippers next we're going to use our scissors to blend in that line. So take your comb and move all the hair down first and then you're gon na want to flip it this way and grab that hair. Usually I like to start off with about half an inch, but, of course too, depending on how long your clients, hair is and you're gon na, want to hold your scissors and just hold the comb against the head and cut it down. See where you last cut and keep going, I just want to follow the curve of the head if you're wanting it shorter, just keep going along and doing the same thing next you're going to want to wet the hair again we're going to move on to the Top section and that's probably dried out a bit now you're going to want to really soak it and this cut. I am going to have the hair a little bit longer on top. So what I'm gon na do is start at the very front. You'Re gon na want to take about a half an inch of a section. All the way along here, cut game out that you want off I'm starting at about a half an inch. You can start there and then cut shorter if you need to - and I'm just going all along that same section, that I have and that's going to be your guide so from here you're going to follow with this guide, I'm going to take a new section here: Half an inch section and I'm gon na pick up my first section and I can see where my guide is here and I'm just gon na cut following that guy and you're gon na. Do that all the way down again gage and if you're just beginning, I recommend to just take tiny sections at a time. So once you've done this section of the head, all the way back we're just going to check to see that as by pulling the hair straight up in each section and another way to check that your haircut is even is by pulling a section from the middle. About an inch and bringing that all the way to the back, I'm just evening that out making sure that it's all so once I did that one section you can follow along just to make sure that it's all, even so, there's a little Spock here and the Next thing we're going to do is we're just gon na come around the head following the head shape and you're gon na see where your guide was from here and you're gon na cut along here to match. So you're basically is kind you're gon na take that and go all around, so I get it again. I'M just gon na go around and make sure that it's all even pulling hair and your fingers there. We go the men's haircut thanks for watching

Fern Lin-Healy: I gave my husband a quarantine haircut today following this video. It turned out great! Thank you so much! Update: My dad saw how well my husband's hair turned out, so he had me cut his hair too. Another success! Thank you so much for this tutorial!

Anchal Agrawal: This is by far the most well explained haircut tutorial that I have seen! It was so easy to understand! Thank you for this!

Michelle G: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Followed your instructions-- actually played the video while I cut-- and gave my husband a great haircut! Due to quarantine, he hadn't had it cut for 12 weeks, it was so long! I was afraid to do it but with your tutorial I actually did a good job :)

Tom Thompson III: This is such an excellent video !! I just finished cutting my 16 year old son's hair for the first time and it turned out really well! He is actually willing to go out in public! It was not as easy as Chelsea makes it look, but her instructions and video is so well done that I was able to do it!! My haircut turn is next. I will have my wife watch and follow your video as well. Thank you for posting this!!

Rabbi Cantor Cheri Weiss: A few weeks ago, I cut my husband's hair for the first time and needed some guidance. Your video was by far the best I'd seen online. Thanks to you, his haircut came out great! Today I cut it again and watched your video to refresh my memory on how to do it. Michele Frendo-Cumbo: What a great tutorial for us beginners! You were so sweet to do this and explained everything so well!

Madam G: This is the best hair cutting tutorial I’ve watched - as someone who has never even picked up clippers, let alone switched them on, I now feel confident to tackle my teen’s overgrown hair. Thank you so much lovely

tuffy288: Out of all the tutorials on how to cut men's hair, the is by far the best one that explains the hows. I really appreciate that it was done in "slow motion". It was very helpful to see how to cut it while you were explaining it. The down side, however, the music was drowning your voice out. Less background music and more of your voice. Great job! Thanks!

SprNtrlPwr: Thank you for this awesome video!! The first time I cut my hubby’s hair (after watching a different tutorial) I totally botched it. This tutorial was SO helpful! Thank you for breaking down the steps for each area of the head and mentioning how far up the head to go! Awesome video!

JOSELYN YOUNG: In the dozen hair cutting tutorial I’ve watched the last couple months, I found this to be the easiest way to follow. Now I can improved my cutting talent (right my talent for the couple months having to cut my husband and son’s hairs while quarantine) Thank you @Chelsea for your simple hair cutting technique.

Michelle Stimson: Excellent tutorial with easy to follow instructions. Thank you Chelsea!

Jeff Katz: The best do-it-yourself men's haircut tutorial on YouTube, followed her guidelines and got perfect results! Thanks, Chelsea.

Nin P: Amazing!!!!!! Thanks so much, such a good tutorial! You made it look so easy. Can’t wait to try this out. Thank you again ☺️

Bryan N: My mom watched the whole tutorial and just gave me our first quarantine cut. Thank you for the guidance!!!

ISABEL BECKERMAN: What a professional tutorial. You deserve, my dear, a gracious tip for this upload. Because of the Pandemic, I will be cutting my husband's hair this week for the first time, so in the meantime, I'm going to study your trimming methods repeatedly so I can make it right. Thanks, Chelsea, for taking the time to put together this haircut video for beginners.

Betty Leung: Thanks for your tutorial. I have watched 4 different clips and found yours easier to follow. I have never cut anyone’s hair before. Now my younger son’s (aged 12) hair is soooo long for the summer in quarantine lockdown, I am obliged to try. Voila! I put the ipad next to us, paused and followed thru. After 1.5 hour, we are so pleased with the results. Thanks! Now my older son (aged 16) books me for next weekend to cut his! Wow! 5 stars!

Andrea Scharff: Thank you so much for your very clear and patient guidance! My first mens haircut went great!

Rose Ella: Thank you so much for this! I'm currently a Hairstyling student and we're on summer break right now and I forgot most of what we were taught but I remembered alot thanks to you! I appreciate it!

VB: Thank you, Chelsea. This was brilliant. Just did my old dad's hair for him and the lovely ol' fuss pot was thrilled! Lol. Great tutorial!!!

Janette Richards: Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. We bought clippers to do my husbands hair and I wasn’t to confident to use them. Your calm presentation and instruction was so easy to follow and he now almost looks like he has been to a hairdresser........

18airwick: Thanks Chelsea! You did a great job of presenting the basics. The instructions are clear and concise.

Kathy Nunes: THANK YOU! I just want you to know that this is my go-to video for cutting my husbands hair after the Covid fiasco. Every time I cut his hair I review your video and play it while doing the haircut (its not exactly a natural talent for me)! The only challenge I have is dealing with a bald spot and very thin hair on the top. I just use scissors here and there for that!

cassie: Best tutorial I've ever seen on youtube. Yesterday, I did my hair 10 around the sides because I was nervous to go outside and cut it.. I haven't finished yet but I'll finish tomorrow. This video will help me so much, thank you sm! :)

Christina Marie: This is the best explained tutorial yet! Clear instruction, not a lot of extra chatter, systematic and easy. Thank you!

Superstar Whimsy: Thank you!!! I've never cut hair before, but my husband's hair hasn't been cut for over six months now and I was desperate. Your video helped me do way better than I thought I was capable of doing!

Selena Crossen: Thank you so much for this video!! I have been searching for a long time to find a good one for cutting men’s hair!! My husband has been insisting that I cut his hair and I have never cut his hair before! You broke it down so that anyone could follow along! Thanks for showing how to blend it! I can now give him a good cut!!!

Brandon Lombardo: Very well explained! I’ve been watching videos like this to cut my family’s hair and this one will help me master the basics and cut my own hair. Thanks for sharing!

Tanya P: Your video has been a pandemic lifesaver! Thank you so sincerely ❤ (PS Your calm instruction and upbeat music helped calm my nerves. I'd never done this before and my husband was so pleased, entirely thanks to your excellent tutorial. So grateful for you!)

Christeen Young: Thanks so much for sharing this tutorial. I just cut my husband's hair today and it turned out great. I did it with scissors instead of clippers. I really liked how you mentioned how far up to cut as it wasn't quite clear to me. Props to the camera person for showing good angles.

Brett Martin: Thanks Chelsea! My wife tried this out on me and everything went perfect except for the portion around 10:10 mark. It's when you begin to blend the "bowl cut look" with scissors....she followed the instructions perfectly but still wasn't getting the blending effect and it stayed looking like a bowl cut no matter what she did. We eventually used a trimmer to help fix it somewhat but it only helped to a degree. Any tips for next time? Thanks!

Raina Bashir: Followed this tutorial n gave a quarantine hair cut to my husband. He loved it! I was so happy with the results! Thank you so much for this amazing video!

Victoria Panossian: Thank you, Chelsea. You seem like a sweet and kind person and I really appreciated your helpful tips for this video. One of the best and most helpful hair cutting tutorial I have watched <3

Jango Fett: I used your guide to cut my sons hair. My son liked my work and it was largely due to this video among others because the explanation was just so clear and methodical. This is a great fundamental men's haircut video. I'm watching this vid for my third haircut revision before getting on with it again.

Holly Dioguardi: You did a great job of communicating and demonstrating the techniques clearly. My husband’s cut didn’t come out half bad for a first time attempt. Thank you!

Megan Seinn: this was really helpful, thank you so much for the clear instructions!

Rosies Cottage: This video is wonderful! Thank you so much. Hubby was more than unhappy with his hair after weeks of lock down and I followed your video instructions and his hair looks great! Thank you so much for sharing this video, I now have a very happy Hubby, hugs x

MIra S: Thanks for this video, I'd watched your tutorial several times and started cutting my husband's and my teen son's hair during the lockdown last year. They reluctantly let me try, but after first haircut both said I did better job then their Turksh barber. My husband bought me a set of clippers and proffessional scissors and do this DIY haircut for them regularly since then.

Grace Cheung: Amazing tutorial! I’m going to cut my husband’s hair today & I’m going to play your video again while cutting his hair to get this perfect haircut! Thank you for sharing!

Lyan Fuentes: Es el mejor tutorial que he visto, y he visto muchos, es claro, preciso y los cortes de pelo en casa me quedaron maravillosos. Muchas gracias y felicitaciones! Desde Chile

Tracy Goodrich: I have been cutting my husband's hair since COVID happened....never thought I could, but this video saved the day! I rewatch it every rime he needs a cut. It may not be as good as his old barber's cut, but that's because I am not as skilled as she is in this tutorial...he still is very happy with the results (and it's free, haha)! Thank you; great video!

Ashley Boyd: I've just started training to become a hairdresser, my partner has decided he wants his long hair cut off and wants me to do it! No where near learning mens cuts yet so this has been super helpful! Thank you

LL L: Your video is my first man's hair cut tutorial. And, yesterday I did my friend's hairs...the first time in my life! I found myself have to come back to review again. Even though my friend's hairs are thick and curly, your video still gives me a basic guide how to do it. Basic is the most important :) Btw, my friend couldn't get a hair dresser for the last 4 months due to the pandemic...

ちんエミリー: Thank you so much for this video. I was so nervous to cut my dad's hair, but thanks to your video, he was super happy with the outcome, which made me super happy too. :)

Alison Schneider: Thank you so much. We are still not completely comfortable venturing out and cutting hair at home is one way to minimize our contact. This tutorial is such a blessing in this stressful time. Can't wait to have barbershop night!

Veena C: I tried this on my brother and it went very well. Here's some tips- Trimmer/clipper part will be easy. You can't go wrong in that because the length is fixed. Now coming to scissors, it's only natural to be a little scared for a beginner (like me). Trust me, just go with it. Always make sure there is comb in between the scalp and scissors before cutting, so that you don't get the hair too short. You don't have to be perfect, just go for it. It will surprisingly take shape on its own. I fact, I felt using scissors was faster and easier after some time. Also thank you for the amazing tutorial

Toni Hardy: Hi thank you for the tutorial so easy to follow and my husband loves his new hair xx

swaroopa166: You have been a life saver!!! This video gave the perfect guideline of how to do a haircut for men. Did one for hubby yesterday and he is justifiably ecstatic!!! This was my redemption for a bad haircut I gave him a decade ago.....thank you sooooo much!!!!!

Pro-fit K T: After watching your video I cut my father's hair -and it looks great! Thank you so much for this clear, detailed video!!

Hannah Belcher: Cutting my dads hair today and this is such a great tutorial to follow along to! Thank you I hope it turns out as good as yours

Tracy Johnson: Great tutorial. Thanks for filming this. I just cut my husbands hair, and it wasn't bad. Next month is going to be much better!

LE: Thank you for the wonderful video! Just cut my husband’s hair first time. Very happy about the result. I am confident for more cuts in the future!

Teresa Fredrick: Very good tutorial. Your teaching appealed to me. Even though barbershops are open by appointment, my husband wants me to cut his hair. Possibly from here on out. I’ve done two on him now. I have to do some shape up and cut the top a bit shorter on this second cut. Your video will be a great guideline moving forward. I’m flattered that my husband trusts me so much, but I feel like his haircut standards are lacking... He is such a sweet man though... I will come back to your video again.

Nasu: Thanks for the tutorial! I’ve been cutting my boyfriend’s hair lately and had difficulties getting the fade/gradual length to the back without cutting too much. It’s better to know the right movements to get a better result since I have to take his new passport photo as well. I’m just a photographer, not a barber.

Heather Wynne-Phillips: This absolutely the easiest video i have found for covid cutting. It is no fail and i am so grateful. Thank you so much!

Ladybug Lane Soaps: Thank you so much for making this video! I'm going to start cutting my husband's hair as his long time barber gal suddenly sold her shop. Though if you do make another video like this, please turn the volume either way down or only have it going at the beginning and the end. Thank you Chelsea! :)

C Toth: My man found your video and asked me to try giving him a haircut at the beginning of the pandemic. He was soo pleased, he has asked me to cut it every month. I always watch your video before so I don’t forget any steps. I appreciate your kind manner and gentle teaching. You are generous to share your expertise, thank you ! Much gratitude.

Jola Chye: I just cut my husband's hair an hour ago after watching this video. I used No.4 as I was concerned that my husband didn't like it. It turned out great! Thank you for this video. I spent an hour on it, next time I will try to cut it quicker! <3

woodyvild: We thank you for such a generous description!!.. Is not so easy to do it from the first place, but the steps are clear - understandable and the rest are just exercise and repetition.. as longer you do this as less you watch the video log (that is so profesional with clear zooms and good angles of video captures), so call your friends and give them a special haircut for free !.. :)
