Today we are going to be doing the very much requested and awaited men's haircut. Do you not attend here a little bit? What see he's only been begging for the last four weeks? Obviously, I'm showing you a haircut, that's based off of what Adam, starting with I'm, going to explain, basically kind of just what to do to keep the shape that they already have and basically just trim it up a little bit. So basically men's hair is cut up into two sections, whereas for women is normally we look at it from four quadrants for men, it's the top kind of halo part and then everything that is beneath that if the hair is long enough, I like to clip this Whole section out of the way, so I can work on this area here clearly and freely from not cutting this part. So we do we take off almost the same on top as we do on the sides. That'S just what he prefers. You can ask your guy. What he prefers, but typically tight on the sides, is key guys, don't like having this looking fluffy right here, which is, I think, what bothers at him right now. Okay, so, as we can see, he has his hair length is maybe about an inch long. So we're looking to take about half of that off. That'S probably the easiest way. All I'm gon na be using today are hair cutting scissors and a rat tail comb which is per highlighting, but it's what we have today and what, if you don't have those what? If you only have kitchen shears the dog, do it really? I'Ve only done that once - and this is a big mistake I was like you should use like kitchen scissors, because it's like you know what people will have at home. I luckily have a pair of actual hairdressing scissors. These are not great, but they'll do. Can you get achievements at Target? You can get $ 10 haircutting scissors on Amazon or Target tweezerman version. I mean it's better than kitchen shears. Anything. The kitchen Cheers, because it's not small enough, so I could be able to like get in little areas and what about like poultry shears, like the big ones? Are you gon na ask 700 questions about what not to use, I think they'll be good use like one smooth all right, so we're just gon na start? I would like to start on the sides because we're not using any clippers or anything like that. If you do have them, if you feel comfortable great, you can do the exact same thing, I'm doing just going in with the comb pulling the hair out and going with the trimmer, like I said, we're doing scissors only. Is that easier, so there's yeah, no trimmers you're easier. Probably if you have them go for it! No, if you feel comfortable with it. So what we're gon na do is we're gon na grab horizontal vertical we're gon na grab her tickle. We took its time so we're gon na be going in in vertical sections like this. Cutting that to about half that length, then going back about a half inch back grabbing, doing the exact same thing and just keep doing that exact same thing. All the way around the head, if it's, if you feel like you're kind of just drowning in hair and you're, like oh like, where did I leave off, you - can kind of see? Okay, this is sort of a mess grab. The next section that looks long and and then the way to test and see, if you are doing it correctly and it is aligning, is you can grab a horizontal section and you look down. You can see it's a little longer there, oh so, instead of grabbing the vertical you grab horizontal because then your sin should be grabbing many vertical lines and then you can see like oh this. Do you cross checking? Oh god it it's called maths, that's what haircutting is it's like. I prefer coloring and always comb in the direction that the hair is going to be, laying because that's where you can see mistakes or that's where you can see. Oh, I haven't cut this area here. Yet so vertical sections and then horizontal to cross check all right. So then around the ear. So we've trimmed this up and around the ear because we're not using any clippers. I'M just going to use the scissors to kind of chop that cipher and obviously whatever shape you like you're, just doing kind of a basic, normal kind of sideburn the correct waves. Never like completely straight. You start kind of from this little divot here in the ear, and you aim just a little bit down kind of like with your cheek bone. That'S going to be the most flattering and then around the ear. You'Re, just gon na. Take that and cut outward as close to the ear as possible. That'S how can you hear that looks good? I don't know if you guys can tell this is still heavy wear if you can see it and you can almost like grab it. It'S too thick here. So once we've established that shape going in as close as we can to the skin - and you want to get even closer - you can do just the comb and then point cut this wood. You don't want to take off too much just very softly, trying to take with that perfecto before okay, so what I always do on Adams haircut is. I leave the center here always longer than these edges, just the haircut that we like I mean that I like so again, tapered to the neck. So I liked this here tight and then this here a little bit longer. If you don't want to have this, but I just described you can just trim this to the same length as this right here. So basically, what we did here just doing that all the way around which is vertical and then checking our song vertical, checking horizontal vertical such a good and then to clean this area up on the neck. Here we're just going to freehand it like we did around the ears. If you start to see kind of more horizontal or weird lines go in the direction that the hair is going to be facing, we're going to be growing in and just do kind of long kind of swoopy cuts that way, and it will minimize any lines or Any mistakes because you can see now the side is a lot trimmer on this side, and this is our last section until we get to the top all right. So then, you can comb that forward and all of those kind of more scraggly hairs go ahead and just trim those up just to clean it up and now for the top okay. So the top we're gon na be doing a very similar to what we did on the sides, but instead of going in this way, we're gon na be grabbing long sections across this way back to front upside down all right. So we're done with the haircut now. He'S going to wash it off and come back and then we're ready this time. Are you happy with your craft? I am, are you happy? Is the question we'll see there you have it you guys all done Adam gone ahead and styled it. Yeah super easy easy to follow along, I think even Adam learned and it's ready to do it himself right, kept naming off the steps, even when we were done so he's memorize them, but alright. So if you are planning on and doing this yourself go ahead and leave the sheer emoji down below and well, thank you for it. So thank you for being with us today, mm-hmm and for getting another free haircut. Oh I'm paying for this haircut all right guys! Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to like subscribe, share, follow and all right guys. Thank you so much for watching. We love you and we'll see you in the next one. Hey the whole reversed camera screen thing is not easy and I think I'm touching myself and them right now screen left. So I have a little thing here. I want to tweak so it's like, and I have to you

CakesbyLynz: A massive thank you for your video. After 2 months my husband really needed a hair cut, I was a little nervous and I definitely took my time, but 2 hours later, lol, and following your video it doesn't actually look too bad. Thank you

Beccastyles 06_11: This is great! As a fellow hairstylist, I love how you educate people on how to do these things at home! I love your channel and I love learning a few new tips and tricks from you as well! ❤️

Jan Whitley: Thank you, thank you! I am so proud of the haircut I gave my husband while we're stuck at home (but his hair kept growing!). Your instruction video gave me clear & simple steps.

Celia Lucio: This was SO helpful! I was so nervous trimming my husband’s hair and he ended up LOVING it! Thank you!

Masha Glanville: Tried this on my husband (first time ever doing a haircut - COVID times) and he loved it. Thank you for the great and fun instructions

gabgreg: Thanks for this. It was well-explained and simple to follow. My wife just gave me an awesome trim!

Ronnie Dillin: Great video! My wife gave me a haircut during lockdown following your instructions. We are both delighted with the results. Thanks again!

Joanna Alexander: I just wanted to let you know that I followed this video to the “T” and my husband ended up loving his haircut so much he never wants to go back to his stylist again. I have no previous experience in cutting hair before this. Thank you for the video. He looks great now.

Sheri Andro: Thank you so much!! I just did this yesterday following your excellent directions! It turned out great and since my husband works in a hospital - he has to continue going to work right now - his hair was getting way out of control. I bought some hair cutting scissors on Amazon and watched your video a couple of times before I did it. It actually looks great! I did have to use clippers on his neck to clean that up ~ but other than that I followed your video and it was so helpful!! Thank you!!

Helene Kamps-Stewart: Clear and thorough instructions! Thank you. I’ve been cutting my husbands hair throughout the pandemic using your tutorial.

Brigitte De Soto: Oh thank goodness. I was literally watching dudes use clippers to cut men's hair and I was feeling some amount of despair at how technical they all were. LITERALLY got an email notification as I was watching those videos that your video just came out. VERY HELPFUL. Today's also the day I'm being tasked with this. Still nervous but a little more prepared.

Alyssa Cunningham: Elle, thanks for this video! I cut my husband's hair a couple of weeks ago, and he was VERY happy. I just followed your steps and referred back to the video when necessary. I'll be trimming him again tomorrow, and Imore confident. I'd rather take off a little at a time than scalp him! Honestly, I've watched quite a few videos on men's hair cutting, and yours is the simplest and most clear. It is especially helpful that you can clearly see what exactly you are doing with your hands and fingers. Thank you again! --Alyssa

Michelle Clarke: Really great tutorial. I looked at several hair cutting videos and yours was by far the best. I gave my husband a great haircut thanks to you!!! And he LOVES it! Best haircut he’s ever gotten. Thank you!!!

EmilySal: Just did this (during covid lockdown) on my husband! He was too nervous to let me do the top since he liked how it looked longer! Thanks for the tutorial :) mine looked slightly choppy in part but I guess it comes with practise

Elizabeth Hannah: Thank you so much for this video. Immediately after watching I cut my son's hair, and honestly, it looks pretty good. Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Hannah Roberts: Brilliant video! Gave me the confidence to tackle my other halves wild unruly hair for the first time! Thank you for the clear instruction!

Christine K: Thanks for this video. For me, it's been the most helpful video on YT for giving an at-home trim during this quarantine. Excellent job!

Sirena: Thank you so much! Yay!!! First time ever ~ cut my hubby's hair & he is looking good! I was so nervous, but your very clear, relaxed demonstration guided me easily. Thank you!!!

YuckLacey: Thanks so much for this, it’s the best tutorial out there for us non-hairdressers! X

Amy Em: I watched a lot of videos and this was my favorite, I cut my husband's hair and I think it looks amazing. Never cut anyone's hair before in my life. Thank you! I could use a video on how to hold the comb and the scissors at the same time and how to not cut myself but otherwise, perfect. The cross checking was key, and I was terrified of the clippers. Your model is a fun comedy relief too.

Bhakta Ruttiger: ✂️ Thank you so much for making such a fabulous, helpful video!

Jesse Hunter: Thanks so much! This was one of the few videos I found that didn't use clippers, and it really helped. My husband's hair was much longer than Adam's, but he usually wears it as short so I had a lot more hair to cut! First 10 minutes was terrifying, but once I kind of figured out how to grab the hair it was a lot easier. It turned out pretty well, considering it was the first time I'd tried! He is really happy. Would be good to mention if the hair should be fresh-washed, or if we could cut it wet. He had just washed his hair and I found it a bit slippery - not sure how to best solve that... Thanks again!!

Natatouille: Did this on my husband last night-tricky because he has curly hair but likes it short. We were both pleasantly surprised!! He felt so much better, thanks!!!

Marissa Lane: This video was a lifesaver! Just cut my (very particular) husbands hair for the first time following your steps and he's very happy with the results! Thank you!!

…PïåñôMòtø…: I’ve always cut my husband’s hair but I learned some new things from this vid and it looks so much better! Thank you. I love your vids

Sue & Adrian Pye: Thank you - this was a calm and straight forward tutorial. Love your energy. Can't wait to cut my husband's hair - he said I could only if I watched a tutorial. Which was probably a good idea!

frazee1: ✂loved this just in time to cut my son's hair today! So easy the way you showed it!! What would we do without you!

Andrea S: Thank you so much for this video! It gave me the confidence to finally cut my boyfriend's hair today and it turned out great! Thank you!

Crowned&Brown: Definitely needed this video this morning haha Thanks for putting this together! Super helpful!

Shelley McBeath: For someone who has been unsuccessful at past attempts, I have now used your tutorial twice and it worked! Thank you for the easy and understandable steps...and the humor! ..."or upside down"...

Karen Lee: Thank you for passing this video. I have never cut anyone's hair before. I cut my husband's hair today following your guidelines and it turned out perfect!

Katherine Chu: Keep coming back to this video EVERY time I need to cut my partner's hair! Thanks so much again! So helpful!

Marianne Donato: I have cut my husband’s hair for years, but I really learned how to do it properly, thank you! I use a clipper for the sides and back but I have been thinking about trying it free hand. Thanks for going over the proper techniques...Looks awesome Adam ✂️

Janet Pesaturo: Super helpful. Used this to cut my husband's hair - he and I were both very happy with the results. Thanks!

Vanessa Toynbee: Done my boyfriend's hair...looks really cool! Thank you sooooo much, really good tips!

Shelley McBeath: Nailed it the first time cutting my son's hair, thanks to your video!

Angela Duncan: I watch this every time right before I give my husband his haircut! You are an excellent teacher.

Eliana & Eric Johnson: Thank you! Following your video helped me give my husband a desperately needed haircut! It didn't come out too badly--if I do say so myself.

Dawn Frost: I used what you shared to cut my husband's hair. It actually turned out really well! He said it's among the better haircuts he's ever gotten. It was a bit nervewracking, but I just went slowly, knowing I could cut off more hair if I needed to. He has very fine hair, so at times, it was useful to spritz the hair with a spray bottle. We did the cut outside, and thank goodness - the hair goes everywhere!! Thanks for sharing.

Blingee Thingee: love this, very helpful …. watched this and then trimmed above my husband's ears and on his sides and it turned out great

catdog dogcat: Thankyou again! I’ve followed this haircut video a few times for my son. They are getting better and better. You a great teacher.

lyricalsop: Thank you so much. It worked beautifully! ✂️✂️

Jesse Smith: I use the #2 hair clip on an electric razor and run it all over my husband's head - and he loves it. No need to use scissors. He doesn't have to wait in line at the crowded barber's shop anymore and we save a little bit of money. Woo-hoo.

moni siri: Just did my husband’s haircut.. your vertical method helped a lot..❤️

Sherri Mitchell-Snider: I have been giving my husband at-home haircuts for months now and watch this video every time for a review!

Davina Wilson: Just cut my husbands hair following your video - amazing! He had made a real mess trimming away at it for the last 2 months in lockdown. Thanks and took your tip to buy hairdressing scissors

Lyn A: Thanks for your video, it worked great as a tutorial for someone who had never cut anyone's hair. Husband very happy with the results:)

rachael hogg: thank u!! Makes so much sense and actually very easy to do!! Husbands hair came out better than the barbers he goes to!! He got so many compliments!! You made it a really enjoyable experience.

Rebecca Weld: Just watched this and cut my husband's hair an hour later. He was nervous, but very impressed! He may be skipping the salon from now on. Turned out great, thank you!

debra Ragsdale: Thank you for the helpful tips. I always have trouble with the sides above his sideburns. It came out GREAT!

Alexia Nazarian: Just gave my boyfriend a great haircut. Terrific video, thanks!!

TheGreenFamily1: OMG - you guys are great! Very informative and helpful, and so entertaining too. Giving it a shot today on my man.

Aidaqr77: I love your videos. You usually explain very well what you are trying to accomplish. Unfortunately, this one left me with more questions than answers :(. I did not see you following a guide to cut the hair at the same length and in some parts it just seemed you cut it by "feeling". Maybe because you are an expert and you already know how to do that, but for us trying to attempt cutting a man's hair for the first time, it would have helped to go slowly and section by section like you did but with more detail. Just my thoughts, but thank you for posting this! I hope someone finds it useful.

Gromlin: Saved my life!! My wife cut my hair and my dads. Turned out great!

Cathy Miles: Great video! Thank you! Will try this today on my husband!

Sheila Garcia: My Sis is a hair stylist and when she went to school she’d come home and teach me. I cut my hubbys hair with scissors on top and clippers on the bottom. I love all your tips. I definitely need to master the removing lines technique. It takes me FOREVER! Would you please make a video using clippers too! Love ya!!!

Jennifer Jackson: Thank you! This worked out really well! Great video.

Anne: Just used this video to cut my boyfriend's hair. Must say I am pleased with the result and so is he, so thank you for the clear instructions:)

Sharon: I just used clippers with #2 all over and my husband got a lot of compliments

Amanda Briceno: Perfect timing! My boyfriend has been asking for this! Now I finally got the courage hahaha yay!

bretstang06: Thanks for the how to video... My wife gave me a haircut today using this method and it came out great... I did order a pair of hair cutting scissors for future haircuts as she is now my barber... :)

Ciska Kemper: Almost all youtube tutorials use clippers, but I had bought only some good hairdresser's scissors before the lockdown, with the idea to give my family haircuts (and for my husband to use them on my hair). Your video, which only uses scissors and a comb was excellent, and I was able to cut my guy's hair. He has curly hair, which is starting to thin at the top, so not the same situation as in your case, but it turned out alright. We are happy, this was an excellent tutorial.

Neuropsychopharmacologistic infinite dimensions: Thank you so much my husband loved his haircut ❤

Heather Sheets: This video came up when my hubby needed a cut, unfortunately I needed a buzz cut video for him. That said, my son is now bugging me for a cut and I'm so grateful for this video. Hopefully I'll have a happy 13 year old soon!✂️✂️✂️

Maya Mosallam: Hey girl, first off just want to say love your videos i think they're super informative! I'm looking to do a bleach bath/ shampoo cocktail on my hair at home in a few days and was just wondering what you would recommend for the volume of developer to use + if i would need to add olaplex #1 in it (i have the system at home). for reference i'm between a level 8-9 blonde at the moment looking to go to a bright level 9, maybe 10 if possible.

Grape & Graze: Thanks for your video. This is second time I’ve had to use it to cut my husbands hair in lockdown. He looks much more presentable now for us ‍♂️

Brooklyn Jade: I’ve finally convinced my husband to let me try cutting his hair! Thanks for the video!!

Sharon Opstbaum: Thanks for clear instructions!

ChanteMarieTV: My boyfriend always asks me to cut his hair for him! This is perfect! ✂️✂️✂️

Shavir Banaji: Thanks for this! We just used it this morning

Linda Shannon: Very helpful. We thank you both!

Season .Appreciation: Thank you, really helpful ‍♂️

cebsny: I’m going to try on my fiancé! Thank you both

Alicia R.: My boyfriend has been asking me to give him a haircut, this is just what I needed thank you!!

Jordana Ricci: I tried to do this on my husband's hair... his hair was shorter than Adam's to start with, so it was harder to grab sections- then my (old/cheap) hair scissors were dull and he said they were pulling at his scalp too much. So then I tried to do the same technique with a comb & clippers, but it kept looking patchy so I ditched the comb and just used the clippers all around. They're body clippers so the attachment is not super accurate for haircuts, but better than nothing. Ended up with a buzz-cut vibe like when I did his hair a month or so ago, but I did use slightly different lengths on the sides/top this time so it's got a little bit more of a shape to it. And I was able to clean up around his ears after watching this tutorial, so that was a win! I can't wait for salons to reopen but if I have to cut hubby's hair again, I told him we're letting it get a little longer first so I can have another crack at this cut because I miss him having good hair!!

Denise Lamy-Grosteffon: Thank you Sylvia for all these informative videos!! Sending you love from Toledo Ohio!

Lynn Kirchhoff: Thanks... I used this video to give me confidence to cut my hubby's hair. He loves it!

Cathy C: ‍♂️‍♂️ gonna give it a try!! Thank you Ella!!

disneymama 316: PERFECT for my 4 year old who hair grows so fast but also hates hair cuts

Happy Homemaker: Oh I needed this bc I've got to cut my husbands hair!!! Thank y'all so much✂️

Jen M: He's awesome. He is asking all the questions (and more) that a clueless person, or a spur of the moment desparate person, that hasn't had time to think it out, would ask, so thats great!! Bless y'all!!

William Collins: Very good! We agreed to do this together before I got hold of the scissors. He sat so still!

Jessica Merced: Yes! Thankyou Elle this is just what I needed

Tiffany Browder: Will 100% be following this tutorial to cut my husband & son's hair tomorrow ‍♂️

Tammy Ommodt: ✂️Thank you! Wish me luck cutting my husband and my son’s hair!

Ashley M: Thank you for this. My husband needs a cut soon!

Lis_ CG: Thank you, so helpful! My 8 year old son is going to hate me, but I'm going to try

Jackie Taylor: Thank you. This gave me confidence to cut my husband's hair. It looks quite good. Things you do in Lockdown :-)

S S.: Thank you so much!! This was much needed!!

Manda Lamoreaux: ✂️ thank you guys so much!! Im going to use this to cut my 2yr old little boys hair.

Charlene Pace: I had trouble with the back. My husbands hair was realllllllly loooooooong. But he looks much better... vertical, vertical, horizontal! :) Thank you!

katsan32: My boyfriend just received a second haircut for me. Elle Bangs saves the day for a second time!
