I have spent the last 20+ years in the salon industry, tech and fashion. I left the industry at some point to become a Fireman and Aux. Police Officer. I did 6 years service and resigned shortly after 9/11.

I have a passion for helping people, educating and motivating. I work with major brands, local businesses and individuals looking to expand and grow.

My videos will be focused on celebrity hairstyles, athletes, models, actors, social media stars and event videos.

Princess Diana, this is the haircut that I'm doing today rest her soul. I'Ve gotten requests for this for a number of years. Okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to be using this mannequin, which already has a fringe on it? I don't have one with the exact color, unfortunately, because she had had a lot of highlights, but I try to find a mannequin I had, which was somewhat more on that on the blonde side. So I'm gon na work into the existing fringe here and I'm just going to create the Prince Diana cut as best as I possibly can so watch along for the video, then we'll break it down at the end. I still wonder from time to time if I said it's crap, I see my pick for the first truth into, but I won't back. Why should I? Why do you stay? They should so too between capsule. Ladies and gentlemen, here is the finished results of Princess Diana's haircut now, she's had many variations, but I wanted to kind of create one I think is very memorable with the but the beautiful layers that she had and also the shape and, to be honest with you, This is a big job. This is not a one-two-three haircut. You really have to understand haircutting and, as you can, as you saw throughout the process, I did a lot of real, true hairdressing, which is you know, piecing things out, spraying working my hands working the shape in and to get this look you really, you know you Have to understand haircutting and what certain haircuts will do. So what we did is established the lengthen through here and I did go in throughout the sides. I went on through the back to establish the back area and the neck, as you can see, comes down to about right here, just just standard. You know just below the neckline right in through here and once we created the base, then I went in and connected going upwards. This mannequin had pre-existing Fringe already or bangs, but what I did if we worked everything down going into an angle and what's important to know, is that when you're cutting an angle, don't be afraid to cut this, because you do know, it's gon na go back and Work into the shape with everything else so, but the key is, is to blend it all in and, as you can see you in through here, it's all working seamlessly into into the front and to the sides here. So I did that I'm on both sides, then what I did is I established my first layer which was done at the top back of the head right in through this area. So here's the the length - it's probably I'd, say about four inches four and a half inches the most and I created a shape literally pulling everything out from the head straight out from the head and working following the head shape and the growth pattern. To then work. It into the base here what's important, is that every single piece of hair is layered from here all the way down. But again you have to really be careful when it comes to the layering, because if you're not layering, it properly we're not later. Probably, if your client there could you could easily see a lot of steps, a lot of really bad stuff going on and through here. So then, once we had once week, we created the shape. Then I connected the top back of the head to the actual top of the head, which really is the the base of the entire haircut, because that is going to connect this to make it seamless going from shorter into longer and through here throughout the top. I kept that consistent length going from here to about right here to work into the fringe area, so it's got a seamless flow, no matter what, then I worked from the top here to the corners and then the sides and the way I cut hair is it's Important to understand that you've got the top of the head, the corner, the sides and then even sometimes the true side or the bottom right here. It all has to be in sync together, especially when you're doing a heavily heavily layered haircut like this everything's got to be blended, it all has to be seamless, and you know this is the result of that dinner on both sides and then the styling process. You know I used tidal wave when the hair was wet, because I wanted to get a little bit of that gritty texture, a very light, grit, texture and some light hold. Then I used my blow dry cream again crafted blow dry cream to support the style. To add a little bit of control when I was styling it, I blow dried the hair using my blow dryer, and I used a small round brush like this, which is perfect for lengths like this, because you can simply wrap the hair around the brush. So a smaller round brush is ideal for something like that and then for any sort of fine-tuning. This is an this is a classic comb. This is a 24 karat gold-plated comb that has been with me since the 90s. Alright, since when I first started off hairdressing, I bought this at a hair show, and I only bring this thing out for big stuff for big big jobs like this, something that I really need to it brings me back to my competition days. I used to do competitions with hairdressing and I still always use that comb and it like kind of my good luck, Home Slice. I was working the hair after I blow dried. It really spraying at getting it down. It'S very common that you're gon na get a lot of volume at first, but keep in mind Princess Diana. I mean she was always in the public eye. So for this type of haircut. You need that volume because over time it's gon na settle down and then it's better to have the volume, then not have it, because if you don't have the volume, the hair is just gon na really flat. So it's always best to have the volume and then tame it down like this, and she had it. You know kind of tucked behind the ear like this. You know, unfortunately, this uh, the hair, won't stick behind the ears as much. This is the best I can do as far as trying to recreate that shape, and I'm ladies and gentleman, this is the finished result. Please let me know in the comments below if you enjoy this haircut, let me know if you're a professional and you actually learn some cutting techniques from this. Let me know if you, you know, wear your hair like this. If you just you know, like the video in general, I love to know your thoughts because again this is this is a pretty intense haircut and I haven't done a haircut like this in quite some time, but it's really utilizing the fundamentals. If you like these types of videos, where I'm doing you know classic big names - and you know, I've got one interesting one coming up just to throw back, because I'm posting five times a week, I have a lot more room for additional content, so you're gon na Start seeing more of those movie characters and things from you know, I'm gon na start doing a lot of 80s stuff, some from some 80's movies, which I know a lot of you guys seem to love that stuff but yeah. Unexpected Otaku: I need this and I’m 22. People say I look and dress like an “old woman” but I think what I wear and how I style myself suits me. So imma get this cut and idc what my coworkers think lmao.

Joann Piazza McCall: I LOVE this cut!! I will definitely show this to my hairdresser. I love that you also showed us your blow drying technique. This cut will never be out of style, it is timeless.

Lord LuBu: Dude, I want to get my haircut with you. You're so talented!

Jane Foster: Love watching your videos - just what we need after 3 months of lockdown. I'll be returning back to the salon with loads of inspiration - Thank you!

Lisa Christianson: I really enjoyed watching you create the Diana style. What an intense style. I would love to wear my hair short and layered. It’s really a classic look. Thank you for sharing it.

Rochelle A: Have worn my hair like this for years. Great cut!! You' re a true talent.

Pradipta Dutta: It was like watching Diana come alive again. It’s amazing how her look will always remain eternal, as will she. I just love what you did. You’re amazing!❤️

Helen Redmond: would love Diana's haircut on her wedding day - so much more modern! can you do that?

Benav Stylo: Is there a tutorial for Princess Diana's haircuts of her early years? Specially the cut and style she had during her wedding and the one she had when she had Prince Harry.

Ramona Van Camp: I know you did this awhile ago but I’m so happy I found this demo. I just decided to cut my hair like 90s Di after looking at a similar do my mom wore in ‘66. Retro but classic defined shape. Soft feminine. This gives me more info than just pics to give my hairdresser even tho she’s a pro of 20+ years. Thanks. ☺️

Consuelo M: Started cosmetology school about three years before Diana married Prince Charles. You absolutely nailed it! Five stars on technique and styling.

Robert Hinojosa: You are such an amazing teacher. I’ve never cut a females hair but due to Covid-19 restrictions I was the only answer to Sara’s dilemma. I gave my girlfriend the blended layer haircut using your tutorial. Everything turned out just the way you said it would. And she is more than thrilled with me and you! I literally had one hang up and that was the performance of my scissors. Thanks a bunch salon guy. We appreciate you!

Gudrun Stein: I wear my hair still like this , because I cut it myself and it is the easiest way to do for me. I learned everything from you but still wondering how you manage the scissors ( back and forward ) in your hand. Hope I will live long enough to learn that too. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge to me . Adore you ! ❤️

Sandra Nodine: I was just thinking about princess Diana a couple of days ago and all her different hair styles and I love this cut. I would get my hair cut in this style if I could find someone that knows how.

Nan Vonmueller: I love it! Trying to get my hair like this. Thanks for the great vid.

Slashtitan10: Great haircut. I’ve really learned a lot as a licensed stylist/ Barber by watching your videos over the years and I use your techniques everyday in the salon. Especially the way you cut the face frame/ layers and round out the corners. Thanks for everything man.

Kate Redsull: I used to do this haircut so much when I first started hairdressing! Been watching for years thanks for everything you do please come to u.k to do training courses!

Stefany Dower: well done, would be awesome for this style to come back in fashion. Who else found this video very relaxing?

Гульназ Шарипова: Looks like Diana's haircut! Well done! Thank you for sharing this technique.

BrightBride: I just got this haircut yesterday, with sideswept bangs though, when I wanted to cut off my bleached lengths and go for a long pixie, but my hairdresser talked me into this and I really like it and got very entusiastic compliments from my cohabitant, his girlfriend, who were the first to see it. Now I've been searching the internet to find out what it's called, which was surprisingly difficult. It's not just Diana, I think Ellen Degeneres and Meg Ryan had similar haircuts and my cohabitant remembered some other celebreties from the 90ies, but yet there's no concise name for it and if you search for bob or long pixie you don't find it. Thank you so much for sharing this! ☺️

Dawn Tobin: Amazing and a perfect Lady D cut and the way you have set it, is perfect.

Mary Cupano: Love it!!! I would some one who could do this the proper way.. so pretty.

Alexa Miller: I’m doing this cut on a client today! Thanks for the video

Rainbow Brite77: I thought any way Diana’s hair was styled was beautiful, though this was my favorite. I remember how desperately I wanted the style when I was a teenager & it was her style at that time. I tried many stylists, but none could replicate the look. It looked nice, just not quite there. My wedding photos a few years later reflect I was still trying to get the look when I got married. Now, over 20 years later I think it is still a gorgeous look & would love to try it again. Thank you for sharing this. It is fascinating to see just how complex this style is. My ❤️ is still in the 80’s, so can’t wait to see the looks of 80’s celebrities you have planned.

Sandra Dummer: I love the hair cut, and yes.,you teach me a lot. Thank you.

P K: You are so gifted in your work! Thank you for the video.

仲代達矢: OMG thanks Steve! I've been waiting this for a long time❤

Tauna: Beautiful! Thanks!

Sarah Connell: I like this, I want to give my grandmother the same haircut. This video comes in handy during covid because we cannot go to the salon right now.

Sandra Dummer: Loving the video but…loving the music as well. I’m a former cosmetologist. Love hair cutting video. I help to teach me more about different and each hair cut styles.

6699Jackie: Beautifully cut, I loved her hair styles, I wore mine similar during the 80s

kalima Tayyeba: You are number one for me in cutting layers. I cut your way because it is elegant and beautiful

Monteen McCord: Wow. I wish I had the guts to cut my hair...

Me: I had this hair style. Madonna had a version in her papa don't preach except she didn't have it going up. I had the second early version. Still have the photo taken in profile. It was layered on the sides ( I had a longer version shoulder length) bob at the back. So for those out there all we asked for was " can you cut my hair so it ( we used to say) flick at the sides and straight at the back?" Length could go shoulder , collar, or higher and shaved nape. They are what I had.
