In today's video we're revisiting the man bun we're going to be discussing my hair measurements and how long it will take you to grow out your hair, the best way of actually prepping and styling the hair into a bun and a brief look into how i style. My fit around this hairstyle, as always, if you enjoy or find this video helpful, please drop this video a thumbs up it lets me know you guys like seeing these types of videos subscribe. If you haven't already to keep up to date with the weekly content, this isn't something i usually plug, but if you're looking for an odd bit of hair, inspo be sure to check out my instagram at lucazade quickly touching on hair and measurements, i've been growing. My hair out for a little under two years, i was initially growing it out from a disconnected undercut, so the sides and the back are shorter than the front. The rate of hair growth varies person to person. However, the average is around half an inch to an inch per month if you're looking to grow your hair out specifically for this hairstyle, i think you can expect to wait just a little under two years. I'D say that's about average. Of course, it will ultimately depend on where your hair growth journey starts. What length you're currently at without further ado, let's actually get into the step by step. First and foremost, this hairstyle is best done with second third, even fourth, day hair. That'S because hair with built up oil is a lot easier to work with. It feels more comfortable tied up, and it's probably one of the only hairstyles where it's appropriate to have slightly oilier hair, and so i do highly suggest that you try this style with. Second, third day hair, but for the sake of this video and making this hairstyle replicable we're gon na start with clean washed hair. When washing your hair with this style in mind, i'd suggest using slightly more conditioner than you normally would basically the closest we can get to second third day hair, the better you then want to towel dry. Well, if you've seen my most recent hair, video you'll know it's advice to switch the towel for a t-shirt to avoid breakage. You can skip this step once you've towel dried, but i do highly advise you apply at least a hair oil. This again will make the hair easier to manage, prevent frizz as well as nourish the hair. Hence why i highly advise you don't miss this step i like to follow this up with some sort of hair cream, literally for all of the same reasons i just mentioned, but mostly because it tames frizzy hair, which is usually apparent the day you wash your hair With our hair cream applied we're going to blow dry the length of our hair while simultaneously combing, it's super important. You comb your hair, while drying to prevent any frizziness and ultimately straighten the hair, so that we can tie it up without any hassle. In the later step, once your hair is dried and lying straight, assess whether you want to add any more product to intentionally weigh the hair down, making it easier to tie, if not just proceed to the tying process, start with a hairband on your dominant wrist. For me, i'm right-handed, so the hair band sits on my right wrist. I like to bring all of my hair in the same direction in this case forward. I then cut the hair at the back first working my way upward until i'm able to hold all of the hair. In my dominant hand, it is worth mentioning you, don't really need to worry too much about what hand you're using it's just whatever feels comfortable for you. This is just what feels comfortable for me. I then roll the hair band off my wrist onto the hair and use my other hand to loop, the hair bound around the hair once if i'm going for a looser fit or twice if i want a tighter fit. Typically, i tie my hair up quite loosely because that's just what i find comfortable, but tighterfit can and does look really clean, so yeah, it's just kind of situational and what works with you. And lastly, where you position, the bun ultimately depends on how long your hair is. When i made a man bun tutorial several months ago, my hair was just about long enough to tie meaning i was forced to position the bun very low. Now that my hair is longer i'm quite flexible with where i position it and i like to have it sat just below the crown area, and that is the final look, it's nice and easy, especially if you do the hairstyle with second or third day hair, because You can basically skip out on all the steps i've mentioned now, a brief look into how i style my fit around the man bun. I don't really have any set criteria or regulations per se when it comes to styling my foot. However, generally speaking, i quite like loosely fitted clothing, especially when my hair is styled in a man bun. I feel like it adds to that easy, get off and go type of vibe um. If you're interested in the actual pieces, i'm wearing here, the trousers are from fair play, the shirt is from uniqlo. I got it for like three pounds. It was on sale, which was super super cool. I also typically wear football shirts or football jerseys um anything that kind of gives a boxy but loose fit is kind of my go-to, so yeah, but that brings this video to an end. Thank you guys very much for watching. If you did enjoy it. Please drop a thumbs up subscribe if you haven't already, as always, all the products tools and accessories that i've mentioned throughout today's video will be linked in the description. But until then, i will see you all in the next one. Take care guys bye,

Luca Santangelo: Hey guys, at the end of this video I briefly feature how I style my fit around the hairstyle.  Is this something you'd like to see more of in future videos?

Bilal Naseer: This guy is the reason my hair got way better. His tips and they way he explains is the reason my hair has got so much better

SMOL BRAIN PERSON: Thanks, now I can be Eren

Alex D-M: I’m so happy that I grew my hair out, I’ve always had lots of compliments on my hair, but since I grew it out, it’s been insane!

Naweed Nawaz: Anyone else growing out their hair? Started June 8, let’s see if I can grow it for a year. Update - hit 6 months on Dec 8 & still going strong Update 2 - It’s been 1Y & 1M so far I can’t believe I’m still growing my hair, can do man bun but the sides need a few more inches to have it comfortably in a bun.

Luke Jensen: every time I watch Luca I gain inspiration to keep growing out my hair

Rylee Agulto: Your hair looks great, Luca! You’re definitely one of the people inspiring me to keep growing mine out.

Manas Choudhary: Had my last haircut in January. Hair's pretty long now, long enough to make a small man bun. Hopefully it keeps getting longer. It's hard to grow hair from an undercut but things seem to be getting better now.

Darsh Parekh: I'm close my 1-year hair growth journey and the man bun is starting to come alive. You've been a inspiration all throughout and look forward to more interesting content Luca.

A_987: Great video by luca as always. Just wanted to add that, If you're someone with really short hair and you're discouraged by hearing him say almost 2 years, well don't be. I've been growing my hair out for 7-8 months now and even though my hair isn't as long as Luca's, it's pretty long that I can tie a slight bit. But more importantly, the being able to tie up your hair is just the final bit of the journey. Throughout your growth you'll hit different phases of hair length and each of them are on their own, a new hairstyle. SO PLEASE, DON'T GET DISCOURAGED BY THE TIME. Try to grow out for a few months, watch more of Luca's videos, be cautious about the awkward stages, and if it still doesn't suit you, just short it then :)

Juan Ramirez: I've been growing my hair out since June 2019 and you've been a huge inspiration for my hair journey, I'm probably gonna get a buzzcut in June 2021 but I'll see what happens

The Brick Lord 50: I'm so glad we have the same hair type so I know this is what I will potentially look like in the months to come

STYLEDBYNATE: Literally rocked the manbun daily for the past 3 years! Great video Luca

A1 Abao, Donald Victor P.: I want to grow out by hair cause I got jealous at Eren

Sgt Haddix: i remember watching your videos about 6 months ago trying to decide if i was going to cut or keep growing, currently at shoulder length with my extremely thick and curly hair and bun it everyday

Alexis Vera: Started growing my hair during April/May thanks to this guy he’s my goal :)

PATHOX: Realmente me encantan tus videos, deberias poner subtitulos para los que te vemos desde Latinoamerica y mostras como cortar el cabello largo de vez en cuando

innertamement: Can't wait to have that hairstyle man, it looks dope! Just another year and 2 months to go lmao

Tom_idk: I have very fine and soft hair hair wich is why I never tried to grow out my hair because I thought it might look stupid, but your videos motivated me to start my hair growth so I started growing my hair out 4 month ago. It’s currently 12 inches on the top and about 3 inches on the side I’m going for a middle part look wish me luck

FONEternal: My hair is down to my ass and I do manual labor for a living so I always pull it back at work but I have avoided the bun until recently. Have to say, pretty difficult putting this much hair up and having it stay in place

rapafterparty: came for the pomp, stayed for the bun :)

Kiko: Im in my 1 year and im getting breakage, thank you for this ❤️

Hey Jeff: My hair had dried a bit more than I needed this time and I found it easier to lean back my hair

John Dennis Fajardo: Dude has the perfect hair, cant go wrong with any hairstyle.

MysticValor: Let’s be honest, who came here to see how to have eren jaeger’s man bun?

Oskar: I've shaved my head in april, at the end of august I started to grow out my sides, now I'm rocking some sort of "side pompadour", my sides are 4-5 cm long (even tho they don't seem that long). I'm getting used to longer sides (and puffier face lol) I think that I'm already past the worst stage, I always failed when my hair was 2-3 cm long, I always felt like shit and ended up getting fade as usual lol My goal is to have man bun, but I have a long way in front of me, your channel is my motivation, you made me want to grow out my hair in the first place, hopefully I will comeback to this comment in 1-2 years with full man bun haha

Sonic2Metro: When my hair grows all at the same length I'm doing a man bun more frequently!

Vivaan rajani: Hey Great video luca, Just wanted to ask a question. Is it true that as we tie up our hair too tightly, it leads to hair line receding?

Bilal Jawed: Holy shit Lucas... I'm honestly so flipping grateful I can across your video, like honestly I adore your hairstyle. The loose bun is awesome I just tried it and Holy crap I am in love with it. Thank you some much!

Jason Henrriquez: we started around the same place when we started growing my hair but my hair is literally only slightly shorter than yours and im only six months in, my hair grows so fastttttt.... anyways cheers! thank you for the vids

Hey Jeff: Thank you for this it was very helpful I’m gender fluid and closested to my parents they won’t let me cut my long hair that’s thicker than thick

Abou 7able: Can you do a detailed man bun video showcasing the many styles and how to do them and all that? Thanks Luca!

KUYS & MARS: Im in my 3rd month, Im motivated because of your content. Im looking forward to mimic Luke Hemmings long hair since my hair is wavy ang thick.

Im _TheSUBII3 • 25 years ago: I’m so on and off with this style, I think I’ve transitioned to this style about 3 different times now.

waifu: IM LAUGHING SO HARD AT THE EREN JAEGER COMMENTS

s0lonik: Going for man bun now aswell. After went from a more gentleman, with faded sides to more shorter with fade into now going for an man bun. Wish me luck ,sending you pictures in approximately two years :)

DaPhuc: I've watched your last year video about 90's Leonardo DiCaprio style, I saw below the video that it should be non-undercut, so I just wanna ask that what is the best haircut to achieve it, hope you notice it, thanks ♥️

Himo: No matter what I do with my hair I look ridiculous guess it can't be helped when the problem is what's under the hair LMAO Great tutorial tho, you look cool and stylish my dude

Earl Ozborne: I have a 6 year old son with long hair. His momma is in the hospital(who always makes his hair) so here I am trying to learn this!

CREATOR SAIF: You should definitely try the pony tail type of look I think it would look great!!!

Moderately: I’m looking at all the Eren comments but I just came here to find out how long my hair needs to be for a man bun and how to do it in the first place ;-; Thanks for the tips man, you’re the best, cheers

JaMataNe: Ok, might be a dumb question but the ends of my hair curls upward. Is there a way for me to treat my hair so that the ends settle or look natural?

eduard karpoev: Been growing Since October 5th 2019 so can do a decent top knot now, a little bit out from being able to tie it all up

Rag Time Rage: Its been 5 months im growing my hair and now i can tie them but not perfectly. How long would it take?

Paul Bowler: What make or style of hair bands do you use to do your man bun? I've tried a few nut some seem very tight or snag my hair when I tie my hair back.

Arief Hazim: I hope you can show a vid where you dress smart with the suit and tie. I'm also growing my hair out and I can tie it up. But since I started uni a few months back I'm worried about dressing smart. So hopefully you can provide some much needed guidance Luca. Thanks for your hardworking man XD

Ahnaf Inticer Saad: I really don't like blow drying my hair (my hair ain't that long approx. 7 inch). Is there any other convenient alternative way to dry it?

Daishō: you are my motivation to grow my hair out ;D

Armando Cruz: i like seeing these vids cause my hair is straight as yours is and it’s hard to find someone with long hair that is straight when i see many videos where there are videos with long but curly hair

The Brick Lord 50: Quick question? When was your last trim? And how many trims have you had since you started growing your hair?

goblinbones: I like how he covered everything except the actual tutorial

SomeHowHere: as a non-binary who can't cut my hair...this was very helpful...thank you

Arthur Fleck: Hi Luca, I'm trying to make my hair grow like your length, but I can't tie it because it breaks, what can I do?

Mison Rai: Always a good vid mate!! Can you also mention or make a video on some of the hair products that you use?!

i.b 3-4: I am growing my hair out for 8months now. I was inspired by u.

jesse ferret: Cheers mate. Last minute had to learn to tie my hair up for my labour job i got short notice. I wasnt gonna cut it for the life of me Edit: didnit first try and DAYUM im sexy as shit XD. My new fav hairstyle too

OneEyedPineapple: Hey luca should I use hair oil if I have oily hair?, and love ur videos BTW ❤️

Canny Da Man : Hey Luca, love ur content man! What bobbles do u use? Cus I got some from primary but they seem to be causing a lot of hair damage? Do you like get particular ones? Cus the ones I use seem to be pretty long...

Gabriel Vargas: You inspired me to grow out my hair man. 3 months in. You should make a skate video that would be sick

Miguel Tapia: what kind of conditioners would you recommend for thick black latino hair to prevent knotting. I'm about to be a year in to growing my hair and its becoming knotty.

Will: More style videos please.

Charles Bentley: Will Luca say the phrase "disconnected undercut" in this video? Edit: Yes

Adil Ansari: Make a video about premature greying of hairs for teenagers

V: You are such a special person and talented keep going and smile you deserve the happiness love you

The power of the WEED !: Hi Luca, I wanted to ask you a question: Do you think that swimming can be an issue for long hair? I ask you this because there are a number of things I think might damage your hair, such as tight swimming caps and chlorine

Carlos Jiménez: Amazing video as always, I am also growing my hair out and been growing a beard too but I don't really know how to maintain it, could you lease do a vid on how do you trim your beard? I just shave and I'd love to see how do you trim it

Jo: I legit wear a bun everyday to school lmao if I wear a ponytail I feel like I'm not in my best state

Hannes: Yo! How did you do it so that the ends of the hair are also tucked into the hairband? Whenever I do it, it kind of becomes a ponytail :-(

Mr. Luger: Heu Luca i haven't had a cut in a while the hair on the bottom of my ( one we let fall out) have grown alot, what lenght do you suggest for them??

Giuseppe_00: Thanks Luca for making this video it will be very useful to me.Continue like this, sorry for my english but Im italian

Ch R: When I first saw you with your skateboard I thought you were a poser then you rolled on your board doing revert I was like "ok he's pretty comfortable on his board" and then you did a treflip and I was like "ok this guy definitely knows how to skate". Never judge a book by his cover, I guess that was a reminder.

U.N.G Angel: Does this work for curly/wavy hair?

Alexandr Habel: Wow, nice video. Just found out we have the sane hair length. :D

EccentricTea: I know nothing about hair, this guy knows so much! He’s got my sub

Fabio: Is this how you dry your hair daily?? If not, could you make a tutorial? My hair take way too long to airdry and I've bee wanting to try new healthy alternatives

Vichamen Yeah: Bruh last year i shaved off all my hair in april and now i can almost tie all my hair together guess its fast

Subramaniyan Iyer: Hey bro, i was growing my hairs long for past 6 months and shifted a different place now ..went for maintenance cut and the barber screwed up.. left long hairs at back and rest are cut but around 1-1.2 inch

Claire Winograd: My son has long hair now and it's long enough for this. I've been trying to convince him to try a man bun. He's 18 and not likely to listen to me. He also has 2nd/3rd day hair all the time now because he's in lockdown all this time and feels no need for regular showers. How can I convince him to try this style? I think the beard adds to the style very much and my 18 year old can not pull that off right now as his beard is quite patchy and doesn't come in evenly. That'll have to wait for sure.

Kazna: My hair is long enough to tie back, but what do I do with the baby hairs in the back on the neck? I have a lot of them and it looks messy.

suneku pito: ure my inspiration for growing out my hair!

Garbo tha Can: Hey Luca been watching for a few years now. I don't get the chance to catch all your vids so sorry if you've gone over this before, but what camera, mic, and software do you use for your vids?
