If you're wondering why your hair does this, when you try to slick to your hair back, then I'm gon na help answer some questions for you today. So if you're, one of those people who likes to wear a slicked back and then all of a sudden, you know an hour or not even your hair starts to split down like this, and it's very frustrating to you. Well, it's probably because of your reasons. Okay, one that that's where your natural part is, and the natural part means that is where the hair wants to naturally split and part, and it happens that every human being we all have our natural parting. But one of the reasons that it does. This is also because of your hair being very long and the longer your hair is the more it wants to weigh it down and create that natural separation. So if you are wearing a hairstyle like this or your hair, is this long and you're trying to slick it back? It'S because the hair is heavy and it wants to naturally separate. So that's basically it. The second thing is because you're not using a strong enough product, so you may want to use something like a cream gel or a waxy err type product, something that really has a lot of hold and tact to it. That'S not gon na be super super pliable, because the more pliable is that means you can work your hands through it. And what may happen is it may loosen up so again, the weight of the hair may actually be going against the product and again wanting to split like this. So try something that's a bit more than wax your side or a very strong cream. Gel like I have one called power cream which is like bulletproof hold, but it is more of a traditional gel in a cream form. So it's a great product for that kind of thing. Next is: when are you actually applying the product to your hair? So if you're, one of those people who slicks your hair back then apply is a product to it like this. While it's still wet, then combs it into place and then that's it. Well guess what you're not really shaping the style into position first and as the hair dries there's no direction to it. You don't really do anything other than comb it while the hair is wet and the water-based product, possibly if it's water-based product it just is going to absorb into the hair, and it's not really going to pen trait and do what the product needs to do. So my suggestion is apply product when your hair is dry and also you may want to take a brush like something like this, like a vent brush and literally or paddle brush and blow-dry the hair back. So take your blow dryer, I would say comb it. This way or brush the hair this way and then also brush the hair. This way when it's wet and while you're blow-drying it, because what you want to do is you want to create almost an unnatural part you want to. You want to break against where your hair naturally splits, and then that is how you kind of combat the natural parting blow-dry, the hair, all back, take the blow dry, our nozzle, and bring it back and keep doing that throughout the entire top of the head. Until your hair is dry, then bring the hair all forward, bring the hair all backwards with the blow-dryer, and what you're gon na see is that the hair almost has no natural parting. It just moves where you want to then. At that point, I would suggest applying the product when the hair is fully dry and then maybe working your fingers into it. Also, maybe, when you're brushing the hair brush it and set up brushing it straight back, comb the hair over to the side a bit like this alright and try to maneuver the hair a little bit more, so that you're actually calming the hair in a different direction. To what it naturally goes in so you're kind of tricking, the hair and then over time throughout the day, as you can see here, it's not going to split. I hope you found this tip helpful. Let me know in the comments below if this was a lifesaver for you guys and lastly, I'm not going to be seeing you until probably New Year's Day, because tomorrow is New Year's Eve and I'm not doing a video till Wednesday. Brandon Saquipulla: I’ve waited for this advice for 5 years, lifesaver asf.

doostan: With hair, he instantly looks 10 years younger

Joseph Rodriguez: Literally exactly what I’ve been doing the whole time I’ve been growing my hair this video killed me can’t believe i been doing it wrong

Peter G.: That was really helpful man cause I'm rocking this style for a very long time now and my hair always splits throughout the day.

Scott Win: Dude. Man. All those tips you just mentioned, I naturally picked it up myself over time but didn't for sure know why I did it; I just did. But now, watching your video and seeing the manoeuvring has given me hope to keep growing my hair out. Thanks, big boss!

Mo_L: The exact problem i have been having. Thank you

Hemlocke: Thanks so much! This is what I needed, I have very heavy hair with a loooot of natural volume and this is the video I’ve been waiting for.

Sora: I always assumed that I was balding because I have a natural part in the middle that exposes my scalp very similar to the one displayed in this video. Don't ask why but it's quite relieving to know that I'm good for now.

Kitty M.H.: Thank you for this vid! My hair is long, but my part is due to the fact that I have a particular hairstyle for work (double buns) that make it so that my voluminous hair does not make my hair net fall off or makes me look 30 years old (not that theres anything wrong with that, I'm just not there yet). The parting I had started to create some pain on the scalp... the blow drying tip SAVED me. Thank you so much!

DNAshurii: Do you recommend this technique for people with fine hair? In terms of applying products - I’m worried that by doing that it makes my hair look greasy. Any advice would be very helpful! Thanks for posting this video! ☺️

Giannis Karakotas: God dang it this videos just dropped when i need it!! I grew it my hair from summer until now and its gotten long enough for a proper slickback. Gonna try your tips tomorrow since i had this exact problem.

JoshEC: Thanks for the tip after I buzzed off all my hair off

sean vardy: This is very useful but my question is, since we are creating an unnatural part blowdrying the hair to slick it back, time by time will the hair get used to that direction not having needed to blowdry backwards anymore or do i have to repeat this process everytime i want to slick it backwards.

Nick Luna: Thanks Steven I found this vid helpful and yes this was a life saver because I tried to get an undercut and I would slick it back but it would part in the middle so thank you

Sair G: Happy New Year Stephen and thanks for all the great content this yeah! All the best for 2020 xxx

nenad jovanovic: I like that you recently go more with linger hair styles i let mine grow out since august and it’s interesting to see how often i can change my look. Ps: wich ya all a healthy and happy new year.

Alex Quinn: Just want to thank you Steve for the video tutorial of Jack in Titanic. I showed my barber the vid yesterday and he cut my hair flawlessly. Very helpful and informative.

William Wills Jr.: This is brilliant... exactly what I was searching for. Thanks, my dude!

Kyle Aquino: Thanks for the vid man this is the struggle I deal with

Ruben Oliva: I’ve always wanted to try a slick back but always split. Never knew my hair was too long

shahid ullah: The hair suits you so much!!! Don’t listen to the haters and the trolls

Christine Campbell: The splitting is most commonly caused by a cowlick at the back of the head. A cowlick is a small section of hair that grows at a different angle than the rest of the hair on your head. Hair cowlicks are caused by genetics and are typically located at the crown of your head.

Blood Angel: I'm growing my hair and i always go for the slick back style so this was always a common problem for me. Is there a way to train your hair not to part in the middle?

Anthony Kongvongsai: amazing and straight forward tips. thanks!

Marcelo Amado: Thank you! You just solved my problem.

Mason: Super helpful video and explains a lot. Thanks man

BigLama: I found it extremely useful! I thought it’s because I have very thin and almost balding hair.

Delphic_Djinn: This saved my life. I would be dead without this tip. Lifesaver

Dawson white: Needed this! Thank you

Kuro Honkai: I got a question about the hair system. How long does the hair system last? Do you have to rework it or something like that?

Raheem Tahir: thanks for this video, I guess the reason mine keeps parting in the middle Is simply due to the length since we are in lockdown and I haven't had a cut since February...

Bobbie: I never knew why the hair splits. Twas a simple explanation, but an interesting one. Have Happy and Healthy New Year! XO

Alex Aquiningoc: If you're new to combing your hair back id also suggest wearing a hairnet while your hair is wet everyday. Itll train your hair to all go back. But yes once it gets too long it will always naturally part unless you have alot of product

Imtial Kashem: You are really a quality content maker

Santeri Hassinen: Im about to go to a party and ive been having a mental breakdown trynna get my hair fixed so im watching this while trying to do my hair correctly

Arya C: You are just too awesome for words man! So Glad to have discovered you! Have a very Happy new year n lotsa love from India !

Alan: Could straightning my hair with a straightner prevent it from parting?

Sandy D: I’m going to grow my hair out long to my shoulders, should I just keep growing my hair out or should I shave my head/ short hair cut so it’s all even ?

Nikolay Dimitrov: Thank you for the advice!

Ni Cola: This video is really helpful I've always wanted to have slicked back hair, but Yakuza series made me want it much more Still, I have to buy some styling products for my darn hair (I don't think my hair is actually hair, but rather a separate entity)

Adam Barbour: Still having the same problem after trying these techniques, but I guess I'll keep trying.

alejandro azabache: Exactly what ive been looking for

Omega John: I only slick back my hair when going to church or wedding so thanks for the advice

Kavi Jani: My hair naturally parts through the middle, but I want my hair to go forward, not backward

Muneca BonBon: I clicked this video by mistake, I'm a girl. But whenever I try to put my hair up it always tries to part like that. And now I finally understand because of this video, it's just because my hair is so long

Phil Youtuber: Shoot I thought I was going bald... my hairstyle is the exact same as the mannequin lol It parts right down the middle and on the crown but it’s more notable when my hair is wet/greasy

Si_Vis_Pacem Para_Bellum: My hair parts in the back of my head where I can't see them and it looks effing ridiculous. It doesn't really happen if I use my hand, but with comb it parts like crazy.. So what I've been doing is style it with my hand, wait the pomade to dry a bit and get hard, then comb it. Still parts a little, but barely noticable

KGB Committee for State Security CCCP: Finally the problem no one ever mentioned finally said! Btw your wig is so good i forgot it was one

Yamakasi: Suuuper helpful thank you!!!

James Goodwin: Would’ve been helpful before I lost my thick fro of bonde waves.

Happy MacTrambolho: Keep your hair my guy, you look good with it!

A B: Your natural part is where your hair naturally parts. got it

Siefer X: Hey Salonguy! Could you make a "How to" of Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet's (Middle Parted Undercut Rattail?? ) would love to see a edgy/punky version of the popular e-boi or kpop hairstyle!

Michael H.: Thanks I will try it tomorrow!

The Omen: thank you this is gonna help me out

Ramzi Khoury: It's just when I used to slick it back, long time ago now, wet and let it dry.. If blow dried would always preferred not to apply a finishing product to enjoy the cleaner feel better.. Surely before mask and no rinse out protection prior to drying.. Happy new year..

Viewed This: Have a safe and happy new year. Great video as always. Thank You

TWD Survivor: Holy shit thank you I thought I was going bald

MavicAVF: The one tip i really needed

Shah: Clean hair piece Bruh, always wondered what happens when the hair underneath grows back, do u take it off, shave and reapply it yourself

Alexander Albanus: Thanks for the tips matee!

Strapping Young Ladam: I find that on days I want my hair to stay back putting in some product before blow-drying and a little more product afterwards does the trick for most of the day. If I'm not going to work though I skip the pre blow-dry product because I don't care as much if it loosens up.

Alessio Pascucci: hey man, can you make a video on products or how to style.. im growing my hair out atm my top is long my sides are catching up. But my hair i got very thick hair. I do blowdry, use heatspray, sometimes volume mouse and i have tried a lot of waxes, clays, pomades. But nothing seems to hold it for the day even with hairspray and i feel like im using wayy too much products which i don't want to damage my hair. Thanks

F B: Take a shot every time he went his hand through the hair

Johnson Li: My hair always wants to fall forward no matter what. When I try to slick it back I would have to use a lot of product. I'm Chinese. I don't know if that's how Asian hair is. If I want to do a mid part/curtain cut would it be possible since my hair only wants to fall forward? Thanks

Lew Creations: Amazing video Thanks

j walls: does this also work for a middle part curtain hairstyle?

Pogo Monkey-_-: Been looking for this FOREVER !!!

Ramzi Khoury: Moreover I am getting this split on the 2nd day after wash...surely one more reason could be I am losing some of the thickness with age..

Alex Mar: Wow, I like your hair! It looks so natural! Hope you will tell us more about your experience with it. Also please try intermittent fasting! ;D Wish you a great 2020.

Imyutd: When I grow my hair out it becomes quite wavy/curly. Is a slick back still possible? Such as the Jake gyllenhaal one from prisoners

GFAZZOSLuis: You can also use a headband and just train your hair to go back and not split

Reece Hayes: Thank god I grew my hair out was thinking the parting was me balding

LKpig Sketches: I need this for a wig ty!!

Rachit Gautam: Wouldn't blow drying hair so much damage them. ❤

Anup Rai: Who is this new guy ? I came for that bald guy.

The Daddy Fish: Finally a video on this!!

Steven Guzman: I slick my hair back I am trying to do it everyday

Joniven Kabahit: Love you videos how would I describe this haircut to my barber?

MF Thunder: Thank you very much keep it up love your channel❤️ Also can u do wawy haircuts?

Haimirich: Every time I swung with an axe, my undercut split and it had that fratboy/eboy look. Wouldn't want that on my worst enemies. Edit: Although, it would look pretty funny.

муlσ ƒαяσυк: Hey Guy ! For my hair im using Nivea cream but I dont know when I blowdry my haïr before apply the cream or After it I usually apply that cream before blow my hair but I didn't get so much hold

Cesar Hernandez: Loving your new looks and watching every single videos of you when I have free time , try to lose some weights and you will look younger with that looks , happy new year btw

Justin Saenz: Quick and simple videos r the best

Alli White: I have a permanent split/parting on the very side, but on both sides of my head! Obviously it doesn't make any sense and I can't even comb my hair into a fucking ponytail... it always looks weird and somewhat bald I got that from my mom, she has the same thing.

SKITTL 3Z: Every time I try to comb my hair back it puffs up in the middle or the side I can’t get it evenly

Chai tea: I’m a girl but my hair does this and it bothers me.

Matteo Cot: So we have to take care of our hair 1h hour a day... Sweet

MyStIc Al: Thank you!!!!!!! :)
