What'S up guys acting scholar here for Toni and Guy TV we're very exciting month for you this month, every Tuesday we're going to launch a step-by-step and how-to videos on men's cuts. Today, step-by-step video, I'm a very special guest. Yours truly impacts education, director, Joseph marzio Lee come on on it. Let'S go my office all right guys, so, as you can see, mr. Joseph's been growing his hair for a couple years today. What we're going to do is give them a complete style change. I'M finally gon na cut my hair very excited, been growing it for about a year and a half so that I can donate it to Locks of Love. We'Ve spoken about this erica is no longer I'm gon na have his locks flying in the wind. For all this is coming off: we're going to work a variation of an undercut on Joe with a cemetary through that top area. So underneath the undercut we're going scissor over comb, we're taking this really really short, we know that this is coming back so tight. It'S probably going to fall around this jaw area. That'S what we want. Look at that! Oh first thing, probably the most important thing is to find out which way they wear their hair. Now, if it's a severe change like Joseph, is having it's your job as a hairdresser to listen to your client, but then go back through and really look at the hairline to find out if they're actually wearing it the right way. Okay, so with job! What we want to do, we want to do a horseshoe that is going to start on the shorter side and it's going to slightly dip down on the other side, a little bit lower. It'S almost a high recession to maybe more than the mid recession through there. So it all depends on the density of the hair. I got thick thick thick, hair, you're, probably horse. You might be a little bit higher and to probably be more symmetrical because you need to release a lot of that way through them. A little luck, seam. I'M happy with that see what we have here. That'S gon na fool, I'm going to come through and start a flock regulation and block graduation class elimination of weight and length and we'll start with about 1 fingers debt so be holding this section straight out. We have one finger against this head. I'M going to go through and block read this off all the way around the head shape come back in now, scissor over comb give a little trick here around that hairline as well. You know you know we are going short short if you want going that short just to kind of even clean up that area just coming in and following that head on clean that up really important for personalizing as well as scissor over comb. It'S almost like this is my clipper I'm coming in. I don't miss the motor I'm going to bring it all the way up and come out. This is in the front. Are they at the back right now we are doing a narrative, Joe Dirt, spending that little extra time with the scissor over comb. Not only does it grow out nicer, it makes your client feel a little bit more special to me. I like putting the comparison of having your suit handmade, were made by machine and a lot of men coming now, and they even see the difference. They know the difference between a clipper, haircut and scissor over comb hair comb, and this is airline title okay. So we finished my scissor over confidently, underneath I'm going to drop the top now come over to the higher side of the horseshoe. This is where we're going to establish our guide to length now the way we're going to tack this top area. I'M going to start my profile guide line literally right off of the pond. Okay elevate, this straight up, 90 degrees. You can see from our Jack the ball that we did on the underneath is giving us all these shorter different lengths, because everything is coming back. 90 degrees off of the net shaker and we're going to choose to point cut a square line straight through to the front area. Okay, this is going to be our shortest piece and, from this point, it's going to gradually get a little bit longer. What we're going to do is we're going to work to each previous section. Okay, what that's going to do it's going to layer it a little bit more and not make it so asymmetrical through that top area directly to the each previous cutting on to my guideline. Soon reaches things, and now what we will do is take a little section here: we'll go through and dry, the shade see how much it jumps up and then the side is that too severe to any symmetric or we liken it. Okay, so just utilizing Tony, you got a flat brush. Oh yeah. I know what are things like? Do you I'm going to take some of this angle off in the back and Adam have to rely on you? I don't know what we're going to do now is just come back, then this back area is not too bad. It is disconnected we're gon na leave, it disconnected, which is going to come in and deep parallel point cut just to soften this line a little bit and through him, as you can see, the disconnection every hair texture is different. His responds a little bit better to just deep parallel point, cutting to take that weight out and bit a channel cutting to create a bit of separation through that is coming in, and the arrow point cutting into that. It'S just going to break up that perimeter. A little bit for us just want to come in and soften that I'm gon na hold this perimeter part pretty much natural fall and then just come in with my scissors. Take some of that length away, and it's just taking away from that severe angle that we had this one was coming in just giving it a bit of separation with uh, with our parallel channel, cutting as well break that out cool. So what we'll do now go through apply a little bit of product through there and then show you the end result so just applying a little bit of wax into my head. I'M just going to rub this now through Joe's hair, see once you have some wax in there. You can really move it around when I really love about the heck. Is that you know it's a very tailored haircut? It definitely has a lot of versatility with how aggressive and almost kind of rebellious feeling that it is you've got a lot of contrast with it being really short, obviously really long. My most favorite part about the haircut is, I can put a little bit of wax into it slick it back and go in, looks great any angle. Any time

bomis181094: Already been growing out my hair just to get this hairstyle. Looks amazing.

I got it at the salon about two weeks ago but the shorter side of my hair is getting long, eliminating the contrast which really makes this doo, and I don´t think I can afford to go to the salon twice a month... I´ll have to master cutting my own hair!

Anthony P: I'm grateful that TIGI was around when I first started going to school. I graduated and became licensed in 2004. I've learned so many techniques that really helped and began shaping me as an artist. They helped me to understand texture and to create a texture me and my clients love. I always keep my mind open to all different types of learning from many different artists. You never stop learning in this industry. I love the hair cut! Mine is pretty similar except I cut it on my own. Hard to do but after cutting my own hair for a while it helped me to get a better vision, feel, and view of head shape and technique. Thank you TIGI!!!!!

AmyNawin: Great Video! I'm Toni & Guy trained and I am so proud of it!

aaarsix: Great video, awesome cut. Quick question: can I walk into an academy and get a haircut?

WILL NAIR: How do I ask for this cut from a hair dresser? I hate it when I have no idea how to explain it and then I end up with a completely different cut lol.

Witty Vixen: This guy knows how to cut for sure. Such clean sections and precise cutting technique. Comb over shear is really hard and getting close like this is no easy trick! I'm not sure if I like the disconnection but it works for the model, not everyone tho.

ufcknockout3: Awesome cut! Brought out his gorgeous eyes!

13lilamc: Thank you for the tutorial. Wish I could have seen the back of the haircut too

Delirious: pretty good video, not used to seeing barbers with such skill cause half the shit i get from barbers is a whole set of stupidness

artificium: i've been considering an undercut "hitler youth" style haircut for a couple years. i'm afraid to part with my hair though especially when i'm not sure if it would suit my face.

MiamiDudeUSA: Beautiful, I want this hair cut.

averyaugust: This man's hair is like a movie in itself: From Dungeons and Dragons to S&M Dungeon.

Sean Lowry: What type of wax did you use? Matte Separation? Thanks!

Reuben Dempsey: A lot of people are saying he looks like snoop dog, but seriously? Keanu Reaves doesn't come to mind when you see this individual?

Brandt C.: I have always wanted this type of haircut but I have two questions: how much would a haircut like this cost, and in your opinion if a guy, like me, looks good in a pompadour, would this maybe also look good if his hair was I'd say a shorter medium length? I would love to know and thank you for the video

Whitney Sims: This looks great on him, although i got a little scared right after blow drying. Thank goodness for product!

TheBlackBeltPanda: Dang, came in looking like John Lennon and left looking like Keanu Reeves. XD

ANDY1: Do all barbers have this skill set ? I feel like my barber just cuts and shaves but doesn't have this kinda versatile craft in them. I've been wanting to get my hair done like in this video but I'm not certain my barber knows the steps as seen in this video

Samantha & Scott Shaffstall: Great instructional video but the background music drowns out his voice and makes it very difficult to hear the instructions and comments which are really important to get insight to why he is making decisions on the cut

Mikael Bravin Karlsson: To bad with the sound quality. Otherwise, thank you for a good video.

RobHP: Still in the process of growing the hair but ill be having this hairstyle by next summer can't wait.

Brandon Mattless: I want to do something like this but at the 'horseshoe' stage, I don't want to take too much off the sides or back. I want it shorter but not as short as shown in the video. Could this still be done in a similar way? If so how? Thanks!

peanut_sin: HI, Do you mind giving me the specs for this haircut? I want to bring it to a salon in NY and want it to be precise! I have long hair like the person in the video.

U C: What wax do you use to style the hair?

permanent dysphoria: I was like exactly like him haha...I had freaking long hair and in august, I got an haircut like him :P
