#minitwists #minibraids #lengthretention #grwm #hairgrowth #braids #twists braid outs natural hair natural hair journey

Hey, hey, y'all, welcome back to my channel um today, y'all, i have been in a something i don't know the word, but i don't know what's doing my hair, i don't have a clue what to do with it. We are leaving for houston tomorrow evening and i typically have already done my hair by now. Every single time i went out of town, i've had some kind of hairstyle some kind of protective style, and i don't know what to do with it. I don't feel like putting long braids in. I don't even know if i feel like wearing a wig. I really want to wear my v part unit. I think i can't remember which one i was from, but i'll insert a picture right here, the long one or whatever, not the kiki one. Well, i could wear the kinky it. I don't know, that's the point, that's the problem. I don't really know what i wanted to y'all, i'm getting frustrated. So last night i was like you know what i'm just gon na put my hair in some braids, i'm just gon na put in some braids. I have bought this hair. That looks like really good hair to use for some twists and i was like oh my gosh. I forgot. I had this hair, you guys, and i realized that i was like. Where is the rest of it, because only three bags of hair and that's pretty much? What it says in the description, so i was like crap, so i only have three bags of this hair and i think i need about five. So i need i need two orders of that here and that would have been perfect like minimum because i haven't used it before, but it looks like some decent looks like it could be some really decent hair, so i'll put that down below in the description box. I really didn't know what what to do. I really don't know what to do so. I'M just gon na put some braids in it. I'M just i'm not adding any hair today, i'm just gon na put some braids in it and i'm gon na make them as neat as nice and neat as i possibly can. I can even wear my hair like this the whole weekend. I think i'm gon na take my wig anyways. Let me get started. Let me stop rambling. It was like 10 40 last night and i was like i'm gon na. Do my hair tonight old me would have done my hair. That night knew me prioritizes her sleep. So i was like no i'm not going to do this. I had sex with my hair every day, dude i'm going to bed. I blow dried my hair last week and i intended to straighten it clip my ends all that great stuff, but it looks like i'm gon na have to wait until the new year. My braids are probably gon na come out. Super skinny super small, but uh. I had a comment from one of my subscribers hey if you're watching and she made a really great point. A couple of you guys made really great points in my mini braid video. I did earlier this year just saying how i think we're just so like a lot of you have hair like mine, you know it. I don't. I never think that anyone does really out there, except for maybe like a few of you guys, but it's nice when you guys tell me you have hair like mine, that's not super dense. That'S not! You know down my back. I got type 4. 4B4C hair. You know what i mean and i don't it doesn't bother me to have what i have at all um but yeah. She just she was just kind of like she loved my hair and i think we're. We are, of course, our own worst critics, and it's kind of like youtube has made us think that we have to have a super full dense, a looser texture type of you not even necessarily a looser texture, but all of my women who just don't have in Men who just don't have like super thick hair, i'm i even even i say this - i'm always like. Oh my hair is so thin. It looks so um scrawny, like my braids, and at this point you guys she made a great great point and um. I was just like you're right girl, my hair. It is what it is and i'm not i'm done apologizing for it. I don't think i've ever really like apologized for it, but i'm done like feeling like, like always having to put a disclaimer out. You know what i mean like, oh by the way my braids are going to look super skinny, but my you know parts are going to be bigger because my hair is i'm tired of doing all that. To be honest, i just want to just do my hair in peace, so yeah, so i've already got everything sectioned, you guys um, i'm using this bask in bloom, moisture cream. I haven't really given this brand a shot, they've just kind of been sitting underneath my cabinet for like four months now, it's been a minute and um yeah. I just need to use these products and then i have a couple different gels. I'M going to use and see which one i like the best, the first one i use this on darren's hair. All the time is the um african pride twist braid, lock and twist gel it's this brown gel and then the next one i have is my black panther um yeah, the purple gel my black panther gel and then the last one y'all seen. This too, is my gummy, gel and i'll put all these down below in the description box, for you guys, i use these gels all the time and i have repurchased these gels as well. So this is not my first rodeo. You don't want to add too much like moisture cream or anything like that. Just enough, you know because i feel like if you do, your braid is not going to stay or it may not hold as well, and i do for this look. I kind of have like baby hair in mind like adding my adolescent, adolescent, adolescent edges. I do want those to be a little bit more. Like obvious, how are you guys i finished last night and i it's not exactly how i thought it would turned out, but it's not bad. I showed my sister and she was like she said. I belong on the west coast like back. In the day i was like i look like snoop dogg, but whatever anyways you guys, so this is how we are looking and notice some growth. So this is another reason why i like to do styles like this, because i can really break it down and see exactly if my hair is growing. If it's not growing, am i retaining my length or what more than likely you guys, i'm i probably wouldn't wear it like down. I don't know like i don't know if i would really wear it down, but i would probably wear it. Um wear my hair like this, like that that is probably how i'm going to wear it. If i'm just going to wear my braids, but i honestly, i really like the style i always have, and this really just gives your hair a really nice break. So i love this style. I hope you guys like it as well so yeah, so that is it you guys. We are actually headed to houston in a few hours we have to go to laguardia and then we're flying out laguardia to iah in houston. For the weekend, i really like this style. I have a mirror right here. You guys - and i really keep looking at myself. So unless can you it's cute and right now touch my hair. I will put everything that i use down below in the description box. I'Ll do a link by link so that you guys um will know exactly what i use and exactly what you're clicking on all that good stuff i'll also list the website for the oil for brunch hair care that i use. Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments all that good stuff. Thank you guys. So much for watching and i'll talk to my next one.

Jai Marii: Hey Friends! List of products & hair mentioned are in the description box. Also, the Bask Moisture cream was awesome!

Char Cannon: Thank you normalizing big parts and small braids. My hair is likes yours and I always felt insecure about my “skinny” braids. It’s actually very cute!

DeeLinn’s Tarot: The best investment I made in myself was learning to do my own hair!!!! loved the video ❤️

Glowing Koko: I’ve been doing this style for years now and I can definitely say it has grown my hair out so much. I’m currently at bra stap length. On the road to waist length! Great video, like always!

SunQueen: This is so crazy!! I braided my teenage daughter hair like yours last Sunday. She got so many compliments from her peers and teachers. She said she wants to keep wearing her like that so it can grow. Coincidentally, I get on YT and see your video and show it to her. She’s like mom, that’s a sign. I’m not the greatest braider but I managed to make my daughter braids look decent. I still struggle with doing baby hair though I love the braids on you. My daughter said they called them Coi Leray braids but I call them Snoop Dog braids

Kelsee Briana Jai: Here’s to doing our hair in PEACE !! However you want to do YOUR hair is YOUR business! Rock those braids girl!! Smooches

Annie Lockett: Thank you for saying / sharing this ❤️ I’m constantly criticizing my natural hair for being “too thin” or just never full like I want it. And I feel as if I’m critical of it now more than ever. I really cannot be upset at how my hair wants to grow out my head. I just need to love it and care for it, for what it is. You’re beautiful and I love your videos!

Soldier of Christ: been doing this style for 2 years, my hair is 2 inches from my belly button

Landy: My mom used to do this style for me when I was a kid. It was easy for her since she was working all the time, and she let me wear it for MONTHS. I used to hate it. Fast forward several years later, I'm doing the same damn style!!! It's so versatile! It's so simple! It can be cute~ And, it saves me so much time throughout the month!!! And I can wash my scalp easy whenever I need to. Only downside, I gotta take these badboys out before I start to dread LOOOOL.

Nell Iman: Beautiful results as always . I’ve always wished I had thicker hair since my hair strands and density is fine. I started taking Nature’s Bounty gummies and my hair became NOTICEABLY thicker within just a few months. People around me noticed as well lol. Whoever is reading this I would definitely give it a try and remember to drink lots of water with it ❤️

Andrea Hamilton: Ironically, wearing my hair like this currently under my wig. Enjoyed the video and am also coming to grips with "how my hair grows". Thank you. Safe travels

Brenda Barnett: Yes!! This takes me back to the old days when my mom did our hair. I tried the twists also and they both work. Thanks.

Sammi Yoyo: I have been wearing my hair like this for a year my hair has grown about 5 inches so far!!!❤️❤️❤️

1 Loc Wonder: My hair thickness is similar, although my texture is 3c/4a. My hair doesn’t look “full” & I’ve stopped caring. When I did mini braids, they looked similar & they didn’t take as long as the gals with all that thick hair. I wasn’t mad. Keep representing for folks like ME!

Courtney's Castle : I have the EXACT same hair type as you and I watch your videos because of that. I have NEVER worn my hair out like this and I’m so going to try it

Constanze Amiah: I would love to see more natural hair videos. I like to do braids, twists, or flat twist styles, criss cross designs on natural hair and put it up in a bun. It’s also convenient to put a wig on later in the week. TBH I’m also getting a bit tired of only seeing wig installs on YouTube, which are oftentimes pricey units that average women in their 20s or 30s with families or whatever situation cannot afford or wouldn’t prioritize. I enjoy your videos and your personality. Much love ❤️

Me Davis: Thank you for being vulnerable during your hair journey. I have extremely thick hair but it won’t grow long. I get so frustrated because there is this unconscious social expectation that hair must be full and must be long. The standards of beauty are very Eurocentric and nature and we have to continuously fight them as black women. Not to mention, the ways in which racially ambiguous or other women of color often appropriate our culture but there is still this disinterest in black beauty. Thanks for your courage and creativity!

Boogie To The Night: Stop feeling inadequate!!!. There are so many ways you can rock those braids. Plus all of the amazing accessories ( beads, clips, metal accents etc.). I can't wait until my hair gets that length. Power us medium density women.

Sheresse ONeill: I’ve just started watching your videos because I wanted to learn how to do braids/twists/crochet on myself. I never thought of just braiding my own hair because I thought the braids would be too skinny and look weird. But your hair looks great like this! Thanks for the inspo

Jess Mark: Your hair is beautiful *JUST* *AS* *IT* *IS* Jai!! You may not have a ton of density but it is healthy and flourishing honey. One of the main reasons I love and have been a subscriber for so long is because I can *SEE* the similarities in our textures. You give me so many ideas on styles and products to try. And while everything may not always work for me the way it does for you, it always gives me a good starting point. The style you chose was quick, easy, and cute which is always right up my alley! Thanks for the post Jai. Merry Christmas and safe travels to you and your loved ones. P.S. If you want to have a wig sale for Christmas I’m ready.

Toyin Aina: Your mini braids are so beautiful especially in the low bun! i also have fine strands... I've wanted to do mini braids since I big chopped 3 years ago but I'm scared it won't look good since it's not too long (armpit length).

Nikki J _23: I love It! I have your hair type as well. Like you, I’m always saying I hate how thin my braids are but when In it’s shrunken state it appears super thick. We need to just embrace what we are born with and stop downing ourselves. I have decided and have been researching locing my hair and I’m going for it! No matter how fine and dense my locs turn out. It is what it is and how it’s going to be!

Welcome to the Now: I did this style last night. Only took me an hour. I love this style on you. It felt good to not even add braiding hair, just use my hair. Thank you for the video. Edit: my hair is relaxed and this is great to do after my first post relaxer wash to keep my hair healthy and growing. As my relaxer ages, I do add hair for management. I have super thick and coarse hair.

GEM Academy: Wow.. I use to always do my hair like this and it was so so long. I'm going to go back to this style since I had 5inches of my hair cut off 7mobths ago and I just started growing it back last month.

lalittl: When I was a teenager my mom kept my hair this way and it was waiste length. This legit works

Wanda Turner: That’s a cute style. I have short hair and always overthink how I’m wearing my natural hair. You do such a good Jon sharing your skills with us.

L Bu: I am currently wearing this very same style, too! You did a great job

Es L.: " I look like Snoop don't I?" ...love it and you're not the only natural who wants to finally be free and actually wear their real hair! Ya look liberated sis! Lol...love it(now I'm gonna try some minitwist on me today)

Mikayla Johnson: I just want to thank you! I too have been in a funk with what I wanted to do with my hair. I have no energy to do this extravagant hairstyle. And I need a break from doing my hair as well. So thank you!!

Diana Bryan: THIS WHOLE VIDEO IS WHAT WAS NEEDED! YOUR BRAIDS ARE BEAUTIFUL I WILL BE DOING MINE TOMORROW MORNING AFTER LITTLE MAN GOES TO SCHOOL AND HUBBY GOES TO WORK. THANK YOU

Krystal Alexander: Yes this style is very quick. And I can relate my hair is just like yours, I usually add hair to make it look fuller. I just finished mini twist on my head and said… nah I’m not adding hair this time.. this will do.

mskishimari: Your hair looks good like it was before you started. I would have used some edge control, pulled the twist into a loose bun with a cute clip and been ready to roll. I leave the front of my hair out, then put the rest in single chunky twists. Some days I put my 3/4 wig over the twists and leave the front out but pinned up like a pompadour but when I'm just in the house, I leave my twists down. I don't care. My scalp can breathe and there's nothing tugging on my hair. Your hair is so long! Don't apologize for it-it is what it is. I learned about the Mane Choice 24 carat twist gel from one of your videos and I have been using it ever since-thank you!

JoAnne Wells: Thank you for this. I needed to see that someone in YouTube land doesn’t have thick hair. Though I have a different texture,, my hair is thin. I took out faux locs last night and braided my hair until,I’m ready to wash it probably tomorrow. I saw the thinness of the braids and felt bad. I love my hair but the thinness of it bothers me. I’m writing this with my full wig on lol. I’ll see how I’m lead after I wash it tomorrow. Thank you again for sharing. It’s important. It helps.

Shantel Word: Great alternative to my two French braids. Gotta get those gels you used. Thank you. ❤️

DebDeb P: Gurl…my hair is just like yours…throw in a grey patch and yeah….its a lot ‍♀️ Wash n Gos work well for me but because my curls don’t hang it always looks like my hair hasn’t grown . You always do really great styles that look so nice you!

michelle pittman: Thanks for sharing! You are so beautiful and confident! Thanks for using your platform to uplift and inspire others ❤️

Kendra: Pre parting is so smart! I love this style, I'm going to try it. It's too cold to have my hair out now.

prettymetiff: Girl part it to the side and go. You did a great job ! You and your hair look beautiful!

Ronni j: Girl I love your type 4 hair...its a lot like mine lol....yay for type 4 hair lets ROCK ITTTTTT

quanda white: I love the style. It’s convenient and you make it look pretty

Lisa Kirton: Love it! Easy peasy too❤️

Angela Lynn: Hi!! I love your tutorials This is ironic bc I am at a place with my hair right now, where you were you yours....not knowing what to do with it.. I have been natural now for about 5 or 6 years. And my hair is fine (always has been). And is just down to shoulder length. Had some knotless braids in August until October and my hair grew out some. Anywho, I wanted a more protective style and what you did in your video is a great idea . And you can pin it up or put in a ponytail and still look cute with it whether your home, out shopping, at work etc. I love it!!! . And will try it to see if I can get more growth out of my hair. However I did not get the name of the products you used...

WLHMC ALLNATURAL: You are so right, l also have thin hair l always find myself apologising here and there for having thin hair. Maybe because lm a bit uncomfortable with it, but you know what, it is what it is. That’s how my hair is, l should just learn to love my hair the way it is

AsIs2884: Looks good to me!❤ I have same hair density just want more length will be wearing it like this

Brown Youngins: I’ve worn mini braids with scarves. I pull 3 or four out in the front and make a scarf bun over the rest.

Melrose Honey: Hi new I have thick long hair I tried to do some protective wig style it took out 75 percent of my hair I’m going to try this look and use it to put under wigs if I decide very cute

Happy 4life: This is actually my favorite style. I like it more than twists

Justine Nunley: This is how I use to wear my hair when I was little and it was so long ‍♀️

Beverly Johns: You look so cute continue embracing the women that "you" were born to be

Ben-Natasha John: Loved this style!

Monica Branch: I think I high messy bun would seal the look and leave the two braids down like you have.

mskishimari: It looks beautiful!

Jasmine Phillips: How do you store all your hair after you switch it up?

Princess Aluchi: It’s really cute I love it either way you put it, so it’s really nice.

MsRouge2000: Girl my hair it thin and I hate the way my hair in plats. Your hair turned out very pretty

Angela Johnson-Filer: I really like this, Jai! Very cute!

Just Danie: I like it. But my hair would puff up and braids thicken

Dominique reece: My hair is in mini braids rnw and sis my parts nt even as str8 as urs n we hv the same density hair too, im over apologizing fr my hair and saying oh its like this bcz im yet to "do my hair". Nope its mine, and i like it and thats all that matters im done feeling insecure abt it its exhausting tbh

Rhonda Herbert: Looks nice. Maybe some hair ornament would nice on the 2 braids by ears

Dawn Robinson: Super, super cute.. Yes, you are giving the Brat (So, so def).. You rocked it!!

snd3227: So which of the gels did you like the most. Please list best to ...

Mallory Person: Do you blow dry it before braiding it?

bikesgirl: Is it easy to take your hair down. When my hair is braided it hard for me taking it down. I do twist. But braids looks good. Yours on point

Rieka Chanel: It’s really cute pulled back with the pieces

Samantha Jones: Love it.....gorgeous

Dineo Maboe-Khambule: Your hair is my hair

MsAmazon511: Your hair is really growing

Ameenah Shebe: Try loose braids.. they are beautiful and think

prettymetiff: Super cute !!!

Rayla Cha: It’s cute girl!!

Flowers Fam3: You put a little moisture cream on first, then gel and the oil on scalp after you finished your hair?

Annette Samuels-Davis: So cute

Happy 4life: Where is the link for the oil?

Andrea Defour: super cute

rac Gillett: Cute!!!

Shanita Morrison: What kinda oil is that you’re using

B Hicks: It’s so cute

Lady Rose:

Myrtle Smith: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
