Hey color track fans, my name is Gregory Allen and I'm the artistic and technical director at color truck. Today we're going to be sharing with you, some hair, color 101 tips in today's hair, color 101. We'Re going to be showing you how to apply color with a foil, we're going to be breaking it down to show you the different ways that you can use a foil to apply hair color. It'S crucial to understand exactly how to apply color with the foil, because that's going to give you the best result, give you the maximum longevity with your hair, color and, more importantly, give you a happy client lucky for you guys when coloring, we have a lot of Different options for foil and color shock we're going to be showing you two of our foils today we're going to be showing you our pop-up foil and our new cut and fold foil dispenser. This is a great tool when highlighting, because it gives you a lot of different options on applying the highlights and, more importantly, creating the different links that you need for the foil. So I'm going to show you each one and I'm going to tell you the importance of using each product as well, so we'll break down exactly what we're going to do. Of course step-by-step. So here we go begin by slicing by drawing the line following your part line from your section using your foil comb. Make sure that you're slicing is paper thin. This is a great security technique to ensure that your foils won't bleed it's great on fine hair as well begin by folding the foil and make sure to leave enough space on both sides of the foil. To not use too large, of a section notice here begin by applying your color slightly away from the tip of the foil, then gradually work your way up towards the root area, making sure not to overlay beyond where the foil goes. When doing a retouch make sure to kick the end out and fold the foil over then smooth the foil with the comb and fold again, then lift the foil up press slightly and place your comb underneath the foil, push and pull up. At the same time, making sure not to move the foil, but just to secure it then fold both tips over at the points to which the hair does not touch the foil. This technique is perfect for speed and working on medium to dense hair fold. The foil then gradually apply the color or the root area fold the foil up and smooth with the comb. When low lighting, I highly recommend using the cut and fold foil dispenser because you can adjust the length of the foil as needed, apply the color throughout the entire foil and then place a foil on top of that, as opposed to folding the foil up. This will give you more of a consistent application from roots to ends and allow the proper oxidation to enter the color and make sure that there are no spots place. The foil on top and smooth with the comb weaving, creates more of a dimensional effect to your hair, color prior to weaving, slides the hair. Then, in a slightly rolling motion, go up and down randomly to make sure that your weaves are not perfect. We want a random effect here; it creates more of a natural effect, apply the color in the same manner of slicing, slightly going away from the root area and gradually working your way up on a retouch take out the ends like before fold, the foil as needed. You could do the secure method or the fold method. This technique creates more of a random effect of weaving, rather than slicing. First, just begin going through and gradually picking up, pieces of, hair and weaving them out you'll notice. It creates more of a dip effect within the weaving and you'll. Have more peaks and valleys, apply the color in the same manner and choose your optional folding.
