Hi guys welcome back to my channel and if this is your first time here, hi my name is Silvia you're looking for care tips and tricks you're in the right place, you can tell that the title today we are going to be talking about three major haircolor Issues and the formulas to correct them. These three main hair points that we're going to be talking about today are hair issues that I either get constantly asked either at this one over here on YouTube. I definitely think that most hairdressers would agree with me that these are the biggest haircolor concerns alright. So the first color is when you've either gotten highlights of all iaj kind of growing out, and it's not really that bright, buttery blonde and in order to achieve a more bright result. Normally I hear things like: oh I've tried this amazing purple shampoo and it didn't do anything, and I can't stress enough the fact that a toner will never make your hair lighter, and if you want to go from this to this brighter color, you actually need to Lighten your hair you're actually very close to your desired blonde level, so all you would have to do is Lightner with maybe 10 volume, so just keep in mind that if your hair is not light enough, most likely the only thing that's gon na fix. It is actual whitener because that's what lifts the hair, so my formula for hair issue number one would be equal parts of your favorite bleach with 10 volume and now moving on to hair issue number two, and that is when you have either brassy to oranjee color. At the roots, this is when the rest of your hair actually looks great and there's really just kind of bit of warmth, just mainly at the roots. So what we end up seeing a lot of salons is actually the overuse of either a purple shampoo or a toner, and what ends up happening is the rest of the hair. That is actually light enough absorbs all of that pigment from the purple, shampoo or the toner, and the roots are still warm because purple shampoo founders typically only work on hair, that's a level 9 or lighter, and so you're, essentially only toning, the parts of the hair That you don't want it tone. So basically, the part that was already fine to begin with your changing and then the part you're not happy with nothing's happening to it, and this is where I would suggest getting the help of a professional and really toning out those root areas. Only so my formula for a hair issue, number 2 would be 1/2 ounce of a 7 n shades. Eq 1/2 ounce of 6n shades eq mixed with 1 ounce of a retconned processing solution and applied with a brush and just going in section by section and painting. Only just until you hit that blond hair, let process for about 15 to 20 minutes shampoo and you are done alright, so for hair issue number 3. This is where your hair color isn't, where you want it to be, but you definitely don't want to go lighter or darker, we're, not all color experts, but we can see when it's not right against our skin. So I'm gon na actually give two examples for this. One for whether you're brunette or blonde so say for the brunette side. This is kind of the color you're starting off with you. Don'T necessarily want to go. Lighter you don't want highlights. You definitely don't want to go. You know two shades darker, but you want to perfect this color or same goes for the blonde. Where you don't want to add highlights you don't want to go any lighter, but the tone feels a little bit off. Obviously, there's two directions you can go for either of these is obviously going to the cooler side or to the more warm golden side. But if you're ever unsure, sticking to a neutral is always going to be more flattering and technically, if your hair has a ton of warmth and you neutralize it more, it doesn't mean that there's not gon na, be any warmth left it's just going to neutralize it And normally, by doing that, to hair that already has a lot of warmth in it is actually going to be beautiful. So these are the cases where you're, a toning, shampoo or a toner we'll work as opposed to issue number one which we talked about earlier. So, if we're talking shampoos first for the blonde side, I would suggest going in with finola'z no more yellow shampoo. This beautiful violet pigmented shampoo. I have never tried a purple shampoo that gets that amazing of a result without dulling the hair. I would definitely start with that. One shampoo along you will notice a huge difference. The hair will have better balanced tones if that ends up not being enough. My formula for the blue on scenario would be 1/2 ounce of oh 9, P shades, eq 1/2 ounce of o9 n shades, eq mixed with 1 ounce of processing solution by redkin, applied all over the hair and letting process again for another 15 to 20 minutes. And you are all done and for the brunette scenario i would go in with a level 6n shades eq with one ounce of processing solution playing that all over the hair again letting it process for about 15 to 20 minutes and both are cured. Alright guys and those are the three main hair color issues that that I get most asked about. So hopefully this clarifies a lot. I know all the formulas that I gave today are professional formulas, so whether you have a better understanding of what you can tell your hairdresser or whether you are going to try and do this yourself. Hopefully this demystified a lot of questions that I know can be quite confusing. Sometimes if you still have any questions, please leave them down below. Also, my last video, I announce that we have started our second channel la TV, and that is where you will get to see more behind the scenes, a little bit more personal things, not just hair tips. So if you're interested in seeing more of that and being able to connect with me a little bit more, I will leave a link for the second channel in the description box as well. So that is it for today. Thank you so much for clicking in today's video happy toning and I'll, see you the next one bye guys

alinae75: Thank you for your expert answers and presenting it so politely. I know I personally feel so ashamed when I've made a hair color mistake and I get a hairdresser that makes it worse by complaining about fixing it. You are truly a talented professional!!

Diana P: Hey Silvia. Thank you for all the informative videos. I have issue #2 right now. I tried to touch up my own highlights at home, which went fine, but then I used Wella toner and didn't realize I should've used 10 volume instead of the 20 volume the box suggests. All of my brown root color that was throughout my hair turned a light ginger :( Any suggestions on how to fix it? I really can't afford to pay what professionals around here are asking.

Cynthias stylemua: Hi Elle, I have a question. I've been dying my own hair for years and have been very happy with the results. I would like a more neutral blonde color now (like you suggested). My hair is a warm blonde currently. Normally, I use a level 30 peroxide with my color. In order to go more neutral like you discussed should bump up the level of the peroxide to lift some of the golden tones? That is what I would think I would have to do to lift those tones and neutralize them a bit. Am I right?

Kirsty Macfarlane: Love your videos Silviya! I've actually gone copper, level 8-9, with a 6 base and I love it! That was my first time in for a touch up and I'm ready to get more copper, so my wonderful hair dresser can lift a few more pieces to get the result I would like the next time and every third or fourth visit he can lift more if I want. If people communicated better with their stylist I'm sure they're would be a lot fewer disasters! xx

FabyGlam: Hi Sylvia! Thank you so much for another amazing educative video ❤️ I have a quick question! For scenario #2, are you bleaching the root first before applying the toner formula? I would think so, but just wanted to double check. Thank you

auxiliadora ruiz: Hi Ellie thank you for your beautiful and instructive videos! I actually have a question: i had a dark brown root with gray hair, in the middle light-brown/red or reddish color and the bottom lighter than the rest of the hair ,so i had practically 4 colors (including my natural color) i went to sally’s and got me permanent hair color number 5N /511(light brown) for the roots, and for the rest of my hair i got me T14 toner., with 20 vol developer. i was trying to make it even or closer to each other; now it looks like dark ash color, how can i make it lighter without bleaching it? Thank you so much in advance

Michele M.: Excellent information, thank you! I'm suffering from issue #2 and that solution will help get me through until finding a professional to fix it...which is not easy to find!

Jessica Buckley: A lot of people tend to overuse blue and purple shampoos, thinking that they'll extend the life of their toners when in reality they're cutting it instead because the pH is slightly higher than normal shampoos (this is also why people find these types of shampoos to be drying to the hair). Yes, toners start to fade after a period of time, and that is when these types of shampoos should be used.

Christina: Can you do another color theory video? I loved the one you did several years ago (2014?) on how to fix orange bleached hair. it was really helpful to understand the color theory especially since a lot of us are doing our own color at home during the pandemic.

DIYbyDeanna: I do love all of Ellebangs help and tutorials, and I know she’s super sweet and wants to help the public, but the only problem I always seem to have is that I have to keep rewinding the videos because I get so distracted by her hand movements that I get lost so quickly :-( I guess it’s maybe my ADD or something but I tend to focus on the hand talking more than the video content I guess I’m just easily distracted

Gini Hop: Hi Elle I’m having the worst time with my hair. base color: 1/2 medium blonde 1/2 dark blonde The problem I am having is that I do my own highlights and it just doesn’t seem to get blonde enough. I’ve used 20 volume with bleach and 30 volume. Doesn’t seem to do a whole lot. I know died hair is harder to lift. Please help me ... what can I try???

ArtLuver: Thanks Elle! Yes, this helps to clarify what to tell my hairdresser. Pics helped too

SS: Thanks Elle for your videos! they are really useful in these times .. I was curious to know what is the result for the case #2 after applying the 6n +7n ? would it be dark blonde? I have the exact colour and would love to stop using bleach !

Blingee Thingee: Love this... can you do a video like this where you show us products/toners that we can get to correct color issues if we are not a stylist and want to fix the issue ourselves. I personally can't get Redken toner, and even tried to a couple of times on Amazon and they weren't authentic products.

SianSia: I tried to dye my (growing out highlighted naturally blonde hair) med ash blonde. Instead all the unhighlighted parts went orange. Classy. So I should follow tip # 2. I’ve already spent lots of $ on purple toner, shampoo etc though & I’m sort of getting used to it.

Renee CA: Congrats on the New Channel!!!Question: I asked for Neutral, my hairdresser matched the copper streaks going through my natural hair, now I have very Warm hair at about a level 8. Will I use your 'Brunette Fix' just substituting in 8 N SEQ?

Juana Pinales: I love your videos I've been a fan for forever and you've made my blonde hair get so many compliments no one believes I do it on my own

Jennifer Ortiz: This is “Why” you are the best!! You tell us what We want to know and how to help us out! Love you Girl!! Luv from San Diego☺️

Sonia Raheja: Hi! Great advice! I am at a 5 and want to get to a 7 to keep my grey hidden. I bleached twice with foils but missed a section as I have thick hair. My hair was yellow and orange!!!! I used a T27, Fanola Orange Shampoo, nothing worked!!! What toners would you recommend? Thank you!

Cammie May: Amazing! That's exactly the guidance I needed. Thank you so much. Love You! : )

Jenkins _58: Hey! i'm hoping you can help me with my hair problems. So long story short one of my cosmetologists friends did a strand test on my hair (after dying my hair since 5th grade a dark brown or red) my hair did not lighten. After 6 months of waiting i finally decided to do another strand test on myself so it did lighten but not drastically its like a med-light brown color, i cant tell if it has a orange tint to it. But if i did bleach my whole head and it comes out looking orange could i still put a light ash brown onto my hair to eliminate the orange? Thanks in advance!

Isobel Crow: Long story short my hair lifted during a bleach bath and I was left with red/orange from roots to mids and blonde ends. Majirel cool cover brought me back to brown but it has shone back bright orange ever since. I attempted toning a test section with the shades EQ 06N which made my hair appear darker but did not neutralise any of the orange. I then followed this with a mix of 06N and 06VB for a similar situation - a very strange toned dark brown with orange shine back! My cool tone level 6 roots are coming in and it's looking worse as time goes on. Hairdressers have been shut for months and I'm stuck - would really appreciate help!

courtney swartwood-pacanins: Absolutely love your videos! I just found you and I'm so glad I did! I have issue #2, after I went to new stylist for highlights and root/grey touch up. My roots are ORANGE! Highlights are fine. I have seq6n and 7n and seq developer. Do I apply to wet hair or dry? I will NOW be doing my own hair forevermore! I've never touched it myself but it can't get much worse:((((

Tracey Lynn: I always look forward to your videos Great tips and tricks! Ps. Love the shirt

Karina Koch: Hi dear, I absolutely looove your videos but I am a bit lost when it comes to all the products SEQ and processing and bonding etc. - I wondered, did you already do a video for “beginners” to teach about how to mix and what is for what? I would love to watch that ♥️ Greetings from a fan in Denmark

Jessica Tran: Can brunettes in situation 3 use a blue shampoo to tone out? What are your recommendations for this? Thank you, your vids are so informative!!

Tiffany Martin: Love the sweater! Sublime is one of my fav bands, I’m a 90s girl! I ordered it and a Nirvana oversized tshirt dress from UO! It’s supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

JBrothers: Hi! Really enjoying your videos. Was wondering if you can recommend an at home highlighting kit (from a drugstore)? Salons are still not open near me and would love to have highlights but I don’t have access to professional salon hair color. Just wondering if you have any suggestions until I can get back to the salon?? Thanks so much!!

Alyssa Palmisano: Great advice I’m a shade of blonde but want it one shade lighter now I know what to ask for . It’s hard to find a good stylist/ salon in VT my life long search lol!! I was like a platinum more color is what I need but just needs to be kicked up a a bit. But I’m loving my darker roots which I did myself ( thanks to ur great videos)

stacey Winters: Thanks for sharing . Quick question: do you recommend the same 5oz of colour on shoulder fine hair or could i get away with using less? These colours can only be purchased in 2oz bottles.

Exsream mobile gaming: We moved in to a home with a well!! So to say the least my hair is a hot red orange mess. My hairdresser continued the last two years, applying blonde color over this mess and never treating. I finally swapped hair dresses and now see my aunt who is just trying to fix the damage. So today we did a treatment to break off that layer of buildup. My hair is orange and won’t process color and I have since cut 7 inches of my beautiful long icy blonde hair to now a short ornage mullet maybe. God help me !!! Do you any answers for me that I can pass on. My anxiety is so high and I feel as if I have spent so much money on hair appointments and products and nothing has worked. However I know my aunt is going to do the best she can with out shaving my head. But I want my blonde hair back. Is it even possible?? Should I just go dark ??? Should I never wash my hair in my house again?? I am so afraid !!!

Monticha Mimsuksri: Love your hair! Quick question: I recently dye my hair and the color turns out the roots are way brighter than other parts. How to fix my roots. Color I use is KAO Prettia bubble hair color, milk tea brown. My natural hair is dark brown

Nicola Rowley: Hey Elle, my base colour is similar to yours, can I use 10 volume with Wella Blondor to lift (baby lights)? Will the 10Volume work?

Think for yourself John 3:16: Thank you for another great video Sylvia. N is always my go to when I mess up it work's! Lol. God Bless you beautiful.

Lala O: If the hair is at a 10 or 11 and the roots are too warm would you recommend 7N and 8N or still 6N and 7N?

theworldisyours: Such a great informative video !

Rosanna Herrera: Helpful video thanks I do have a question is situation #1 something I can do myself at home? If so how long do I leave the solution in my hair and also do I put the solution all over my hair? Thanks for your help have a wonderful day!

ogrodka: I love your chanel! You are such a professional I would give everything to have such a specialist in Poland! Thank you for all amazing tips you are the best! <3

Melinda Cox: Elle I have a question, I bleached my hair with a box bleach then it’s was white at the roots/yellow&orange&blonde so I then got a toner and now it it’s grey! I tried to use a clarifying shampoo it hasn’t helped! what do I need to do to get to a pretty blonde color or at least a normal color this is awful! I started with reddish/blonde hair that was done at a salon

Kelly Souri: Hi, thank you!! I had awesome hair, then got bored in quarantine, and now I’m your problem #2. Help! I’m going to try and wear a hat for a week, and then create the formula you recommended... or my question is, can I use the box I have of Clairol root touch up 7 (matches dark blonde shades)?

C Novak: For hair problem no2: how is the combo of shades eq (which from what I understand is a toner) that u listed going to help to lighten the roots so that they match the rest of the bright color u have growing out if it's not lifting it like u mentioned in hair color issue no 1??

Angelika: Is there anything you can use (from sally's) as a substitute for the Redken processing solution?

Foxy-Lu: If I want to go from hair color 1B to like a #27 honey blonde, would I neutralize some of the brassy tones with a blue or purple toner?

Kristy Birchfield: For opinion #1, would you put the lightening all over the head if you have darker roots?

marlene y j u muy Castro: Me encanta tus vídeos... Pero, hay posibilidad de que sean con subtítulos en español???? Porfavor

Dawn Runyan: Elle..i have a question...i just had my hair highlighted, when I got home and brushed my hair, It started coming out in handfuls!! When I went back she said this was "normal shedding" when going blonde.....i have been coloring my hair for 40 years and NEVER had this happen!!! My hair is now thinner, thank goodness it stopped coming out... I paid 130.00 for this mess...( I went from a reddish brown to blond highlights..so it's not like I went from dark to blonde) So is it true that that is " normal" because I don't believe it is!!

Stephanie F: I tried to find a dark brown level three cool tone color, but the color turned out copper on my gray roots! Do I need to use a blue color on my roots before finding another dark brown hair dye that is actually cool in tone? And do you have any recommendation for a level three dark brown cool toned color? Thank you

Nadiia Pazhun: Can you help me? Last week I highlighted my hair into lighter cool ) I was natural before. Now my hair is too light.. the tone is flattering but the highlights are very close to the roots and I look like a blond. How do I darken my hair a little bit? Lowlights? Darker toner?

Lynn Rose: This was very helpful. I will be picking up that shampoo. xo

Transmuting Prana🪄: Omg, Sylvia, I LOVE your Sublime shirt! Repping the LBC!

Keren Samson: Loved your new hair cut! Tnx for a great video

Zulma Rebollar: No hablo ingles, pero estuvo muy bien explicado, cuales son tus marcas favoritas?

Crystal Garcia: Would it help to apply filler before using toner?

by Hisgrace: I went to see a hairdresser 2 weeks ago because i have the problem number 3, i'm naturally a dark blonde, neutral ish from my virgin hair & the bottom half is old dye.. she put a level 6na on my hole head and i legit have brown hair... i went from natural/neutral to almost a dark brown/ash.. not what I wanted at all. I just thought she was gonna put a toner and slighty neutralize my color. Now I been washing my hair everyday to get rid of the dark pigment and my hair is even more brassier than it was before.. how is that possible if she put 6na on it? I did the vitamin c treatments like 3 times and it did lighten it ( thank goodness) but its just super brassy even where my virgin hair was, will the color eventually fade out completely out of the virgin area? Its been 2 weeks.. almost 3.. i pray it does. She put demi - permanent on it. Let me process for like 40 mins or more. Also could a shampoo help the brown hair, like no orange fanola? I obviously cant go get it fixed because the world is shut down but will it eventually all fade out? I just miss my virgin neutral color.. :(

Trader Girl: I love that somehow you never ever have a root—ever! I look for those roots in every video, and I can never find them. I guess you just keep whatever is going on near your roots similar to your natural color. Maybe you can do a video on that.

erika pitt: What’s the best process to fix to light on top of the hair and dark on the bottom,

Michelle Dorsey: My hair always takes way, way darker than the color I am going for (even when using Shades), any ideas why and what I can do to prevent this?

Oscar mejia: For brunette if I wanted to do the 6n SEQ what would be a similar product I would be able to pick up in store at like my local Sally’s.?

Sunshine Overturf: In the first example, wouldn’t bleach with ten volume lift the darker hair at the top into a brassy orange or yellow? I’m trying to lighten my blond balayage (to erase yellow) but keep my darker top

Hailey Cooper: Thankyou. I have that plast problem with brown hair. My hairdresser has put a 5/0 all over and now the ends are too dark. I have my roots as a 5/0 but want my mid length and ends lighter. I only re colour mid length and ends once a year and by then it looks similiar to your issue 3. I was wondering if i 6/0 would help it. Would this be with a 20vol developer?

Tammy whiting: Hi can I tone my hair while it is wet or would it be better to tone it while it’s dry?

Jane: What’s your go to for fixing red tint that bled on blonde highlights

Bradberrybeauty: My hair is currently issue #3 the brown version and I want to solve it at home. I’m in the U.K. so can’t buy the brand you’re promoting. Could you recommend some other brands that might be available on Amazon or something? I’m tired of wasting money and damaging my hair. Thanks

Michael Mold: How do i avoid the hair being like orange in some parts when im going from dark brown to white well i just want to lighten my hair so that i can put blue over it so the blue wont be as dark anyways how do i avoid the roots being platinum but some parts being orange and other parts being whiter like idk :(((

Andrea: Such an in depth hair video Ty for this one beautiful AND LIKE ALWAYS YOUR LOOKING SO GORGEOUS! #YourGlowing #PerfectionYouAre #Inspo

Melissa Callia: Okay Silvia, I have been loving your videos but this Sublime shirt just made my day.

monica cappetta: Can you please recommend a shampoo to neutralize brown hair.

Ndnbeauty T: Can anyone please help? I just got a foilayage from dark brown to level 7/8 but want to be level 10 and I have orange and yellow in my hair still. If I want it to be an ashy toupee blonde would I need to do another foilayage or highlights? Or if I still wanted to be level 10 but have darker roots should I just have them do a solid bleach color on the bottom and put darker brown lowlights?

Julie Mc Auley: I have virgin level 6 hair and went to salon to get baby kites around t bar. She lifted it to a creamy yellow and toned it with as toner. I was with yellow green muddy mights and grey strands on the ends. Is there anything that can be done?

Seagreentangerine: My blonde was creamy, now it's brassy, how does this happen? I am 8 weeks since my last root/toner at the hairdresser.

LillyLake: My hair I messed up, looks fine as blonde but under certain light it looks orange. it’s stressing me out . Might just go hair dressers but I have patches for alopecia so I feel embarrassed . I have fanola orange and no yellow and they aren’t helping with it .

Rebecca Rivera: Can you dilute developer to make it a lower volume? Like making a 30 volume into 20?

Connie Ursachi: Can purple shampoo be absorbed through oil? Coconut oil?

Brooke Garinger: What if I went from a level 9 to a level 6 with out filling my hair… how can I fix it?

Trude Andersen: Sylvia you are the best of the best My issue is that I have a cold blond washed out color. I absolutely don't look nice with cold tones, I look older and my skin looks grey I'm a color tone 10 and 8 in roots. I did a mistake of doing 10.01 ash in my length for 5 min thinking it would lighten my hair Is there anything I can do to get a warmer more natural hair color without starting from scratch. Hoping and pray for an answer Best wishes from Norway ❤

sheri strykowski: You look beautiful! Would love to see a vid on how to do your hair cut and how to create that style. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Doodie Evans Henagan: Thankyou soooo much......my clients who are blondes pull gold‼️ I’ve tried ash colors by redkin & went too dark.....horrible.....so will try your suggestion. I wish you had showed an after color, dried, on the #2 solution but assuming it will be sort of dark with the 6N......might just use the 7N in hopes it will be the perfect cool blonde

Alexes Quinones: I have a question ! I have a set of Bellami hair extensions they are the 340 grams boogatti set butter blonde I was wondering how I would be able to tone them down to match my hair color ?

AL R: You are an Angel thank you sooo much!!!! Quick question; for the brunette #3 .5oz. 6n to 1oz. Processing Solution? Or one 1oz. To 1oz. ??

Magdalena Buzau: Thanks for your videos!

Mz. Kelly: Hey this was great! the information is awesome! do you have any tips using Wella products. I am lost with shazy Q... thanks again

Arthur van Essen: Why is well done “dyed hair” always displayed as curly or wavy?!?!?!

Stephanie C: I love this style of video.

Eliza Gonzalez: What the substitute toner for Sally’s beauty supp products for the 09p seq and 09n seq ? I’ve been trying to figure out how to get a ashy root color with blonde. And I can’t figure it out .

Michele: Hi! Your videos are great! Do you know of any great hair stylists in Las Vegas for blondes?

TheElfin24: Sylvia, is there such a thing as a toning shampoo to keep hair of a more neutral shade?? I've only got the purple/silver toning shampoos which can end up making hair more of a silvery tone but I'd like to try and keep it more buttery neutral tone!! TIA

Jumana F: Why neutral not ash for brunette to achieve the nice brown you showed and remove brassy color?

Ang Wilson: How do you get rid of yellow tones in light blonde
