Hey guys welcome back today, I'm going to show you how you can color your hair without chemicals by using henna, so we're going to get right into it. I shampooed my hair, skip the conditioner detangled and put it into four sections: I'm wearing a plastic cape, because it's just easier to rinse the henna off of it later before I start applying the henna. I always go around my hairline and the tops of my ears with a little bit of vaseline so that my skin doesn't get stained the henna that I've been using for about a year and a half now is from a website called henna color lab comm. I use their natural black color and I mix it with their mahogany color. To give my hair a bit of a warm tint in the sunlight inside of the package, you get your henna some instructions for mixing and applying a plastic cap and some gloves. So here's what the henna looks like the green powder is the natural black henna and the brown colored powder is the mahogany henna. So all you have to do is slowly add some hot water and mix it until it's this consistency that you see here. If it's too watery add more henna powder and if it's still thick and dry slowly add more hot water, I'm using the gloves out of the package - and I just used some hair ties to make sure they stay on since it's been over six months since I've Handed my hair, I'm starting on one of the front sections and just focusing on covering the roots and new growth of the perimeter of my section with the henna I'm using a color application brush so that I can have a neater and cleaner application. But if you don't have one, you can just use your hands to do this after the perimeter is covered, I'm going to go through and part my hair and cover the roots within my section next, I split my section into smaller random sections and I just use My hands to smooth the henna all the way down the length of my hair to the ends after the entire section is covered with henna. I clip it out of the way and move on to the other side and repeat the same steps. So while I'm doing this side, I just want to talk to you guys about a few things that I've learned about using henna to color your hair. First of all, this is permanent, so the only way to get it out is to cut it out, grow it out or bleach or strip it out. I don't have any gray hairs yet, but I've been coloring. My hair darker than my natural color for like ten years now when I decided to stop using chemical haircolor on my hair. I knew that I didn't want to use temporary, color or rinses, because I wanted longer lasting results, so I started doing some research about henna. I learned that pure henna leaves a red or copper tint to the hair and in order to make it darker or less red, you'd have to mix indigo henna into it or just use pure indigo, which gives the hair a blue-black color. Like I mentioned before, I order my henna from henna color lab calm because they offer henna mixtures that are pre-mixed for you, so it takes the guesswork out of the equation and I still get the deep color that I love by the way. This is not a sponsored video. I'Ve just been using this henna for the past year and a half, and I just absolutely love it. Okay, so now that the front sections are done, I do the same exact thing on my back sections. As you can see. All of my hair is coated with henna, and you can also see that the front has gotten much darker, just in the time that it took for me to cover the back of my hair. Next, I'm just grabbing the plastic cap that came in the package and I'm going to cover my hair for about two hours. The instructions in the package say that the henna will continue to deepen for up to two hours. You can also use a hooded dryer or a blow dryer to speed the process. After my two hours are up, I thoroughly rinse the henna out and when I think I've gotten it all out, I keep rinsing for another few minutes. Just to be sure, the henna is kind of hard to rinse out, but you can always use a conditioner to help get it out. No shampoo, though conditioner only after rinsing, your hair may feel a little bit dry. So deep conditioning is a must to deep conditioned. I'M using my favorite diva curl heaven and hair intense moisture treatment, a more affordable option that I also love is the shea moisture, manuka, honey and mafura oil. Intensive hydration hair mask you can use whatever you love just make sure you deep condition your hair after using henna, so that your hair doesn't feel dry. The henna from this particular company continues to darken and deepen for the next few hours, even after you've rinsed it out. I'Ve even noticed that my hair looks darker the next morning, so what I usually do, after deep conditioning is, I put my hair into a bun or some other protective style for a few days, while the color deepens and does its thing and that's it, you guys Until next time, I'll see you in my next one bye,

1SparksFlyOut: this is the cleanest henna process ever seen. My bathroom looks like a green warzone when I'm finished.

Nakia Carter: I bought this henna after watching your video. I bought black to make my hair darker and although I do not feel like my hair got much darker I DO feel it grew over night. I was amazed. It’s so healthy and thick. This is definitely an amazing strengthening treatment! I will be purchasing again. Loved this video, thank you for sharing ♥️

Mahado Djama: In East Africa we use Henna every weekend before watching our hair. All my life I been using it and so love it.

reo ᴗ̈: ♥️Henna back in Somalia and Ethiopia Our mothers used henna twice a month. They also used pure cow butter bi monthly to reduce dryness and breakage.♥️

Curls & Curves: I'm so glad you made this video! I've been natural for 3 years now and terrified to add heat or color to my curly hair. I am now approaching my 40's and noticing more and more gray hair. hank you so much for this video.

𝙸. : i love how you explain it so easily ♡

Shelby Steele: This is great! Ive been looking for a simpler way to henna my hair black without all of the ingredients and steps and this is it. Thanks so much for this video.

NikkiPDX: I love Henna Color Lab! I have been using copper brown for 5 years and don't plan to stop, my hair looks great. I'm glad you made this video to let other people learn about them! To prevent my hair from drying I use filtered water in the henna mixture, giovanni 2chic conditioner and use a chlorine filter on my showerhead. Since doing that my hair isn't dry at all but super shiny with the henna. :)

Run Amuck: Henna is great to color hair with. Its awesome for the environment. However as a licensed cosmetologist. If you would ever want to go lighter or a different color you have to grow the henna out. Because of the metal salts that are in the henna that is how the henna is staining the hair the metal salts cling to the hair. The metal salts have an adverse reaction to bleach. I have seen the bleach not work or melt the hair altogether. I am just letting people know just encase you are someone that wants to change your hair color alot. If you are not that kind of person henna is great. Its all natural its good for your hair and the environment. This is a great video by the way very thorough and amazing application.

Maggie Mizrachi: Thank you.. great video!!! You honestly make it look very very easy!!! I'm going to try it!!!

Miss Nay: I've been wanting to try henna for year. I found this video and I am ready to give it a try. Plan on ordering it from the sit you recommended. I prefer this route over chemicals. Thanks for this video!

thepoint: This is the BEST by far Henna for hair instructions I have seen, and I have looked up a heap of them. Brilliantly presented.

Christina Martinez: You make coloring your hair look so fun! It's not fun to do myself. I have grey hair. Does anyone know how long the Henna lasts before I need to do a root touch up? My regular dye lasts 6-8 weeks, which isn't very long considering I only wash my hair twice a week.

Catina Hawkins: You explained it Perfectly Thank you !!!

Ariana Danielle: Your hair looks so soft and shiny in every video. Thanks for sharing

ChippiSweet: Brought the product and used it yesterday to cover my gray edges only. Excellent! It used to take me eight hours to shampoo, henna, indigo, rinse and deep condition my hair and it did not count the air or blow drying, twisting my hair or flat ironing. Only three hours with this product. I will purchase this product for now on.

LTCan: The best henna application video hands down! You’re a life saver! Thanks so much!

Marissa Ortega: Your hair is gorgeous!! Thank you for all the info

Kristina Karamo: Hey! I have a couple of questions. I’m looking to try henna to cover my grey. How many packs did you use? Was your hair wet when you applied the henna? Also on their web site they have it as a two step process (apply henna sit for an hour and rinse, then apply indigo sit for an hour then rinse), can should I just mix them like you do with the henna and mahogany? God Bless!

MyLife44: Thank you. Very informative. And you make it looks easy...

Nichelle Almestica: I just came across your henna video and I must say that this was the best how to henna video I’ve come across on this channel, thanks so much for sharing. I do have one question though. What kind of conditioner did you use to get the rest of the gritty leftover henna out of your hair?

GloSoGorgeous: So gorgeous! Your hair has grown so much ! Keep up the good work gorgeous

Queen Majesty: Excellent Video! Very thorough with great demonstrations & explanations. I enjoyed this very much!

Nichole Hathaway: The way you do your sections looks SO MUCH EASIER then other people!!!!!!! Awesome!

slambangwallop: Great video. Just want to say though that you need to avoid bleach after henna as it can lead to an allergic reaction. Also, espresso coffee really helped to deep condition my hair while it had two hours of henna and indigo.

Elizabeth Alexander: I'm so glad I finally watched this video! Definitely something I would like to try!

Angie.eee_: Thank you! I appreciate you for uploading this video and sharing it with us.

ElegantRose 🌹: You have beautiful hair and I can tell you are a pro at applying the henna

Candis Halligan: YESSS THIS IS WHAT I NEED!!! THANKS FOR SHARING! XO

Quinn Camarena: How long does it last before your next dye? I've been wanting to try this and get off chemical dyes.

SherSoSweet❤️: The best henna tutorial I have seen in the YT hands down

Quirky Clarke: I just used henna for the first time! It was a mess, but the results speak for themselves, it's my most recent video!

Lolo Future: I love henna but I decided to make a thick paste to avoid dripping and kept it on overnight as usual. That dried my hair out so bad! So keep it more on the runny side.

summer7honey: thanks so much for sharing your henna experience. I have tried it once however it was super time consuming because I did the two step process, henna then indigo, because I wanted to cover my grey roots. your suggestion of this product (color lab) that doesn't require the two step is alluring but I am leary of the products having unnatural additives to achieve the non red, traditiobal henna results. nonetheless I will review the website and probably give it a try

MyLife44: I’m going to try this Henna (light brown) tomorrow for the first time. It has been 13 years since I dyed my hair. I hope it’s what I’m expecting. Thank you for the video.

rex: This was so helpful, thank-you!

mjgarner123: I love henna and I definitely like only needing 2 hrs to leave in. Your application process is so neat along with using the cape! Did you use both packages in it's entirety or portions of the pkg?

abigail solorio: this was so helpful, thank you!✨

Mia Victoria: That was a very helpful video thank you for sharing ! I was just curious if your curl pattern changed or stretched during the henna dying process ?

Kasi McDonald: Love your video!!! Never heard of Henna but now that I've looked it up, it's a must try. Thanks for sharing!!!

Imoan4NYC: Just what I’ve been looking for a natural hair coloring......I haven’t use Henna in many moons. I will definitely buy this product . Thanks for sharing and your hair looks beautiful⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rhonda Denis: I bought the brush that you use in this video and I love it. It did not rip out my hair at all it made de tangling a breeze. I'm definitely going to try the henna too. Thanks for the tips.

Nyotakikora1: How many months in between each trial do you repeat this process throughout the year? I just ordered the henna from Colorlab...and so excited to start doing this to my hair. and then follow with the Aphogee a couple weeks later.

TheCurlyFitChic: My hair is just above my tailbone when straight and I'm guessing yours is about the same length. How many packs do you use when applying? Also, in the video you mentioned Black and Mahogany Henna. But, in the comments I noticed you also mentioned Indigo. So did you use two different methods (ie...black and mahogany and then regular henna and indigo)? I started using Cassia about 8 years ago and then switched to Henna about a year later. However, once my hair got to this length. It was just so much work and I stopped. Now I miss the results I was getting and want to try again. Figured I would give this brand a shot. Thank you for taking the time to upload the video! Very helpful

Helene: Your hair is beautiful! #goals Glad I found your channel. Thanks for the info!

merp: thx so much for sharing this! i wanted to try this henna out, and your tips are greatly appreciated (^_^)

Skye Blue: Girl thank you this is just what I needed

YIR 93: Best video yet!!!! God bless you for posting & using step by step info.

HennaSooq: Absolutely so beautiful!!

Annette Samuels-Davis: Do the henna blend out? Great results, great idea, I love your coverup! where'd you get it?

Stefanie Crown: I definitely plan on using henna to dye my hair! Thank you for making this video. Just one question: after you washed your hair, did you let it dry or was it damp when you applied the henna?

Nia: Just ordered mine cant wait to try it much easier than what I was doin. Thanks Gorg.

Sheree Morgan: Gorgeous hair!

Mrs. Ne' Yo Anderson: Thanks so much for the post, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Zenz 1: Beautiful! And the hair is nice too

Sarne Laurenzano: Thank you that was really good way to do it you made it look easy.

Sheree Morgan: I am purchasing my first henna kit. I became allergic to regular hair color. My hair is salt and pepper, right now. I hope to get good coverage. Great video!

Forensics 4 Life: Thank you for the website. i just ordered my 2 colors and got both for $20. Can not beat the price. I want to try henna but I did not want the red tint. I know I could have mixed Nupur with coffee or chocolate powder but this takes all that work out of it.

Carletta Sanders: I just used the Resma Natural black semi and I let it sit overnight because I watched videos of if not doing anything for those who took it out too soon and I wanted to get rid of my light brown ends. It worked :) ! Thanks for your video !

TheCryptoQueen: Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely going to give this a try.

vankrobinson: Tried it based on your video. This product is awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Helen Lucka: You are so pretty! I want to stop dying my hair black and do it with henna. I’m subscribing ❤️

Really Cool Introvert: You should consider getting a sponsorship from Henna Color Lab. This video caused me (and probably so many others) to purchase from them. I am receiving my second order today and both orders were based off of your review and seeing how rich and pretty the color is on this video.

Gitana Triguenita: Sooo after watching this video I jumped and bought a pack of the natural black color. Followed the the instruction to the T! After taking forever to wash out, I noticed it wasn't black all the way. The hair was dark brown with copper ends. The henna turned my dark brown black and turned copper ends to dark brown. It's been a week and it's wash day. My hair has somehow lightened up and it's almost the same color it was before using henna. The blond tips are still a bit dark copper. I'm so agitated! I want to go back to my one and only hair dye and I read I had to wait a couple months! Honestly, I wouldn't use this again. Love your videos.

LoveMyCurls: Thank you so much for sharing Gorg! Happy New Year! This was Very Lovely!! Can I mix auburn and mahogany together?? My natural hair birth color is copper/auburn undertones.... I've only rinsed my hair once and didn't like the rinse, I was looking for something like this, but unoxidized. This is Perfect girl! Yesssss!

Nyotakikora1: I bought the product!! sooo excited and can't wait to use it

Ana Paredones: I got this and it was great

WorthyIsTheLamb144: You are very professional and gorgeous too! Thankyou

J J: Great job on the demo!please do More hair videos, girl!

Hellow: Do you think henna has contributed to your length retention since it does strengthen the hair?

HairByPierre: i used to henna and indigo my hair, but you've gotta be careful with this stuff if you ever wanna change the color cause this stuff does not come out! omg it took me 2 years to grow it all out.

Sweetie One: I know this video is from a while ago but Ive just begun venturing out with the natural hair products. Thank you making this video & others. Youre a beautiful person with a sweet voice. You make people want to come watch you

杉永京子: This direction is very clear. Thank you very much.

Nelaya Veiga-Boyd: When you touch up your new growth does it make the ends that have already been dyed lighter than the roots?

Evette Miller: Wow your ur hair is so beautiful it looks soft and manageable. My question is did the henna help grow your hair? And how long did it take to see results with your hair growth...if any :)

Leggs: New Subbie here . Love your hair. You are so pretty. I'm relaxed with waist length hair but believe you can learn form anyone.

Vee: I recently used another brand and all I had to do was add water leave on for about 35 mins. I will never use chemical dye again. I also use the SM honey masque love that stuff. Nice video

Mona Myers: Hi! Great vid! You filmed this over a year ago, so I'm curious.. Do you still use henna? Are you still using the same henna brand? Do you have any henna regrets?

Tomeka Miller: How long should i wait to put henna in my hair, after I've did a protein treatment?

Hawaa Abdulhamid: Hey great tutorial really informative I was wondering do you feel henna helped grow your hair long?

Antoinette Rogers: Great video. Thank you very much!!!

Trazon McMullen: Your video has to be THE BEST henna tutorial I have seen. I came upon your video today searching for ways to color my hair naturally. Yours is the first video I saw. I then began looking at other videos and God bless them...but those videos were a HOT MESS!! They had no idea of how to apply the product in a methodical way and henna was all over the place. Lol You applied this product as if you were a hair stylist applying a relaxer . Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You have a new subscriber here.

Marcie Oasi Barbie: Thank you for this

Mz Vee: I'm still thinking if I want to try the Henna or not...so many different opinions. I guess it's better than the chemical dyes. And if the only negative is not being able to change the color, if I can get rid of the gray I'll be fine with it.

bronx chick: Omg! Your hair is just beautiful I wanted to say how much for 3 bundles lol that’s a compliment ❤️

Jo A.: i love love love the color!! how do you know how much to mix from each pack? Or do you mix it all? Did I miss it? Sorry if I'm asking something you already answered. D:

Ben: I used black henna or my hair today and I can't see any difference than previously... I know that red henna works very well for coloring on it's own but that color doesn't suit me lol. Do I need to mix henna with Indigo to get that nice black color? In the past I've tried mixing black henna with PPD (black stone), and while I absolutely loved the deep black it gives, it also leaves a stain wherever it's applied so you have to be careful with it.

68mochagirl: Is indigo an ingredient in this product? I've heard henna and indigo should be used together. I'm transitioning to natural so still have some relaxed ends.

Lady Dee: You are a beautiful young lady. I would like to see a picture of your hair in a down style without a dark background to see it better. I am going to try it. Thank you.

Essence XOXO: What a beautiful queen. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and abundance to you.

Jessica Mdz Fulgencio: Learned a lot. Thank u!

Inetha McLean: Do you feel like this coloring process alters your texture/ porosity at all?

Carla: I wonder how long the henna color lasts? How often do you use Henna to touch up your color? Do you find that the henna is straightening the texture of your hair?

Josias De Peña: Beautiful hair! How do you get the back of the hair done?

Hellkitten: You didn't put this disclaimer in your video, but if anyone has issues with it fading, you need to NOT put any conditioner OR oils on your hair for at least 24 hours. Indigo is really sensitive and you could break down the bond is has to hair your and make it all wash out.

FLASH KID: This is the part i dont get. Henna (lai-leh in the part of Nigeria where i am from), is a plant we grind and mix with water to color our nails and draw patterns on our skin back then. So i dont get how it comes in different colors except its been mixed with some weird chemicals. Plus, itfades off after a while depending on how long you leave it on and how thick the paste is.

BronxJazzy: Over the yr you've been using henna have you noticed a significant loosening of your curl patturn? I tried henna on my natural hair for the first time today and after washing it out my looser curls looked a bit looser. I loved how my hair felt and really want to continue hennaing for the conditioning properties but I don't want to loosen my curls too much. So just wanted to know if this was a major problem for you? I'm afraid it will make my hair straight or something.

Evelyn Jenkins: Another question if there is some dye left to do another application how long does it keep in a sealed container

حسنا ء: I’m from the Middle East we use henna a lot we grow henna tree and we do it by ourselves it’s great for hair

Naturally Flavored: Question☝-I NEED to color my hair(using Henna) I’m way overdue but I need to do the Aphogee 2-step Protein Treatment too. Which one should I do first & how long should I wait in between HELP! Thank you
