Hi everyone welcome back to my channel in today's video. We are going to talk about the correct color placement for your face shape. Alright, so I mentioned this in a video recently asking you guys if you, this is something you guys would want to see. So since I've done the right haircut for your face, shape the correct bangs for your face shape and I still haven't done what, in my opinion, is one of the most important things about hair color? Is the placement that's correct for you, so this area can also be called a hair color contouring for the face we've all heard about contouring. We all know what it means, basically, adding dark to the areas that you want to minimize and adding light to areas that you want to maximize or make appear bigger. So I'm gon na start off by saying. Obviously you can wear whatever you want, and it's not to say that if you are breaking these rules, that did is wrong or that it's going to look awful. These are, of course, just guidelines, just know that these guidelines just come from an artistic perspective on basically what the eye would see as most beautiful and most appealing so going into face shapes. Obviously we have the oval the square, the heart-shaped, the diamond shape and the pear face shape. So, as you guys probably know, oval is considered the perfect face shape where you are not trying to conceal or enhance any area more than the other. It is the ideal face shape, so basically, with this face shape, you can wear whatever you want. You can wear whatever sunglasses you want, whatever haircut and basically anything is going to be flattering on you now. That is in no way to say that any other face shape isn't as beautiful. I can easily name off a few celebrities and other face shapes that are absolutely stunning and gorgeous, and one of the reasons for that is. They have amazing glam teams. They are following a lot of these rules that I'm going to be talking about so now. Let'S just start with the diamond face shape, and that is someone with more prominent cheekbones and a pointy or chin and typically a narrower forehead. And if you don't know yet what your face shape and you would like to know I've linked below a video that teaches you how to find exactly what shape your face is so for this face shape where you would want to add lightness is in through here. All the way to the bottom, so basically what you're adding is volume where basically the face is lacking volume. Now, let's move into someone that has a more narrow face, shape where they may be lacking a little bit of volume on the side of their face and for this face shape. You definitely want to add lightness in through here anything that's next to the face, because I'm just going to add a volume and therefore making the look appear much more balanced. Okay, so next is for someone that say has a narrower forehead and maybe a wider chin or jawline. This could be a pear shape, but where the just forehead just seems a little bit more narrow, adding highlights to the top, and you can still modernize this, and this doesn't have to look extremely 90s. But I will definitely show you a picture here on the difference. It makes, and yet with such a subtle color, you do achieve this much more balanced. Look, I'm going to show you someone with a slightly more broad forehead and how adding lightness around the face, just to kind of bring some light to the face and definitely lightening up the ends and just by having almost kind of this halo of darkness. On top, it makes that forehead just appear a little bit more narrow and just making everything look a little bit more proportional. So, even if I haven't mentioned either your face shape or an area of your face that you were thinking of say enhancing by watching this video. Hopefully, you understand what color placement and lightness does and basically what you can do to highlight the areas that you definitely want to enhance. So, yes, guys, this is a very simple idea and technique. So hopefully, next time you're at the salon, you just kind of think of these tips, alright guys! Thank you so much for watching. I love you and I'll see in the next video bye.

Aaren Lynn: Would love to hear your opinion on round face shape or fuller cheek! My face is fairly oval but I have full cheeks. What areas should be highlighted to make it appear more thin? Thanks for the great content!

Brittanys Beauty Blog: I honestly can't believe how rude people can be when Sylvia makes these YouTube videos to help people and then people come on and criticize her and say such harsh things when all she is doing is trying to give everyone good information that she doesn't have to. and really for the people putting her down about her looks her hair her skin tone this an that just remember she's the successful one and one hell of a good hair stylist that I personally look up to and many people do. she's out there making money and doing something she loves and can do whatever she wants. half the time when people sit an analyze someone an put them down they are one jealous person.

V I N A: Dark background yes! Yes! Yes! Giving me old skool Sylvia vibes!❤️

Teralinn: I have learned so much from your channel and You have saved my hair color! My hair has been a struggle for years trying to get the right shade of blonde.thank you so much for all the great information and advice

MQS 1: Frigging brilliant! Narrow face here and have been debating on adding baby highlights. Now know exactly what to ask for. TY

Donna O'Kane: Thanks for the video! I appreciate the work you do and content you create! Very informative and comforting as I go blonde. Anyone can be blonde! Yay!

Amber: Great tips. I was considering trying out a balayage look and from watching this video it should work out with my face shape. Thank you

Ellen Marie O: Love that you included photos of these people for visuals. Wow, what a difference on every single one of those! I'm a visuals kinda person.

Mili Christensen: Wow, so many negative comments. I think you're beautiful and I appreciate your knowledge on the subjects you talk about. You go girl! Keep up the good work.

Francesca 86: Hi Silvia, Thank you for your very helpful videos I live in Italy so it is impossible for me to go to your salon in San Francisco which toner would you recommend to fix a gone bad bleeching? Specifically my hair now is brassy/orange, I used Redken shades 09p but it didn’t work. HELP ME PLEASE Sorry for my elementary english!

Kristen Albert: I love your videos. You make understanding everything so easy, especially where you add photos. I wish I lived closer to your area, I would love to have you style and color my hair. ‍♀️

Marvelous Mom Life: Awesome video!!!! Very informative and helpful!!!

R Dieser: Wow, I’d never considered color placement before... thank you!!!

Stand: So to minimize my double chin I definitely don't want any lightness pointing it out, LOL. I would much rather go for the top and make my eyes look bigger. Thank you for sharing this video!

Marla Robinson: Very interesting. Loved hearing all your tips.

Shiraz Shenkar: This video seemed rushed and you missed a couple of face shapes. Please have a part 2 for round, oblong face shapes, etc. Thanks!

frazee1: Thanks for this info I always learn so much from your channel! You are awesome!!

Sabrina Stovall: I loved this video so much !!!❤️❤️

jillf24: Would love to know what you would do for a round face. Great video.

MRR: Watching this video makes me want you to do my hair even more. Sadly I sent a message to book an appointment with you after I saw on IG your post about booking up fast, but you are all booked. I live in Tx now and will be in Cali mid-June. I have had the worst luck with my hair and finding someone who understands the ashy blonde I want. Hopefully someone cancels because this would be the best bday gift ever!!

PAT LYONS: First time viewer here. Your explanation is not only clear but, from what I could see, almost the only one on YouTube so BRAVA!! I am a 70-year old lady with, I think, a fairly rectangular-oval-ish face. My brow and jawline are almost the same width and I have a definite chin. Do double chins count...? Maybe I missed your explanation about this face shape. By the way, the trick of outlining my face in the the reflection of a mirror in your other clip about finding my correct face shape is brilliant! You are doing a great job. And does anybody really want to take beauty advice from someone who doesn't take the time to look pretty? I mean...REALLY? Many thanks for taking the time to make these videos and please enjoy your day. God bless, honey.

emilyemily7921: Ohh my gosh who knew! You are so knowledgeable about hair. I wish I had you as my hairdresser!!

Louise Rumble: What would I ask for to get my hair like yours? (it's blondie brown naturally)

Maria: Thankyou for a great video ♥️

Bailey: I have a semi round face and very flat hair, what should I do?

bookwrm4evr: Are you using a new face product (skin care/makeup) because your skin is looking gorgeous! So beautiful and radiant! Also, i appreciate the examples of the techiques and looks you spoke of.

The Mac PAC: I wish Sylvia would do more daily vlogs

Ana Videgoi: Your hair color looks so so beautiful ❤️

Gig Life With Lexi: Thank you! :) xo

Leah Damron: I really wish ppl would think before they type mean hurtful things to Silvia. She makes these videos to help the public, so why all these comments on her appearance? She's human to ya know! I wouldn't type anything on here that I wouldn't say to any stranger, and I'm sure 99% of yall wouldn't say these things to just anyone on the street, so give that same respect. I feel like I'm in junior high with these stupid comments. #WhatSallySaysAboutSuzieSaysMoreAboutSallyThanItDoesOfSuzie

Virginia Garcia: Great video and you look gorgeous!!

Chris Hamilton: So if your face is too broad around the chin, you would want the hair lighter at top and darker on bottom?

ANGE Krumins: Hair looks really nice, colour dimension.. beautiful.

Harriet Shearsmith: I love your make up, fab job!

It's Bosnian OLLG: I have bigger forehead and its kinda box shaped and really contoured cheekbones and pointy chin. Are two face framing blonde parts in front gonna make my forhead apear bigger or smaller? Help

ShirleySWEETEE: What's good for oval with wide for head slight stronger jaw bone. ? Blonde natural level 7 colors 9, 10, 8G frosting

Marisa Mendoza: Do you have any videos on hair fall or loss ? Or growth etc. Thinning hair here

bay baddie: Dark to minimize and light to maximize

K D: I think your hair would look so beautiful and flatter your skin tone if it were golden.

Nancy Farias: I wish I can post a picture of my face to see what color and hairstyle would be great for me :( @ellebangs

Scarlet Peoni: Helpful, thankyou. I hope your health is doing good now, I think the last vlog I watched you had surgery.

Alejandra Arroyave: And the oblong face? ♡♡

Angela Horak: almost nobody has a round face. people just think they have a round face. that's probably why she didn't spend a lot of time on it.

meine liebe Familie: Ooh... and round face?

Andrea: Please please tell me ur hair color please

Glory Calabrese: You are so beautiful! You are over doing it with the fillers. You don't need all that. Your very knowledgeable..thxs for sharing.
