Hi everyone welcome back to my channel, I hope you're all doing well and in today's video we're gon na talk about how you can get the right hair color for your skin tone at home. So this video, I want to explain how you can learn exactly what your skin tone is, so that you can better choose outfits, makeup, colors and, of course, hair color. But every time I do these videos. There are a few of you that will say that you are either still confused and typically that's because you probably fall in between these two, which is just neutral, which is what I am, and even, if that's not the case, if you just want an easier way To find out which hair color is going to be right for you, you can always use a salon. It'S a hair color at home. They have a specially made quiz for every time that you order your customized color and they will ask you some of the questions that I'm going to teach you about today, so that you get the perfect hair color. As you guys know, I've worked with a salon for years. If you guys don't know what a salon is is they are an online customizable hair color? They will formulate a one-of-a-kind formula perfectly for you that's going to suit all of your needs, whether you have a great coverage, whether you were trying to lighten or darken your hair, with the help of a professional, they will formulate the right tone for you. So if you just want an easy surefire way to do so, easy line is a great option for this, and, as always, you can try your first color for only $ 15 and also with free shipping. Along with that, I wanted to do a giveaway to gift three lucky winners: the experience of customized hair color at home, so stay tuned till the end on instructions on how to enter okay. So now, let's get into some tips on how to find what your skin tone is. So obviously the first have to introduce is the three skin tones which is warm cool and, of course, neutral for many years. I struggled to find out what I was because I felt when I looked at one thing I was warm. I looked at another, I was cool and I was just so confused and then one day I was like you know, there's a third one and, as I like did the test on myself, I was like, of course, I'm neutral. So my point is definitely don't overlook. Being neutral all right, so one of the easiest and best ways to find out your skin tone is actually through your eye. Color, I feel like the undertones inner skin can really be brought out by what we're wearing by whatever lighting we're in it can really really change. However, our eye color stays pretty consistent, so typically like true brown eyes: honey, colored, hazel, warm colored green eyes. Normally all of these fall under warm skin tone and then for blue eyes, grayish colored or very cool toned green eyes. Obviously you are more cool toned. Another thing to look at that I feel is not really talked about. Much is the contrast of your skin to hair, and typically we look at this in your natural hair color. But if you've colored your hair to something completely different from your natural color, you can also analyze the color. You have on right now to determine whether or not it is correct for you, so naturally, I'm pretty fair skinned with naturally dark hair. So that gives me a high contrast. So, typically, by most standards I would actually fall more in the cool tone, but because I've lightened my hair - and I am now blonde blonde - with fairly light. Skin is obviously less contrast which makes me warmer and given the fact that I already told you in the beginning that I am actually a neutral skin tone, I can definitely fluctuate. So when my hair is darker. My skin appears to be more cool tone, but because now that I am blonde, I actually lean more towards the warm side. Another thing to look at is your teeth. Now, someone with a very warm golden complexion, they typically will have really creamy kind of white teeth. Now, for me, if we look close up, I almost have like a Lu kind of lightning around the edge of my teeth and used to think that was so weird when I was younger and that's actually a cool-toned characteristic, and so that's where I was really confused. I was like, according to my eyes, I'm pretty warm that my skin is somewhere in the middle and then my teeth are on the cooler side. So what the hell am i and then lastly, is the color of your veins, because you either have warm skin tone over those veins or cool skin tone. It will affect sort of the color of your veins, so normally very bluish, purple II kind of veins. You are cool toned and for someone warmer tone, your veins will normally look almost on the green side. So if you go through these steps - and you are definitely leaning more towards one side - you obviously fall in that category, whether it's warm toned or cool toned and if you're like me and your colors are kind of all over the place, then you are neutral. So lets you know your skin tone. I still get a lot of questions, so, if I'm cool toned, does that mean that warm colors look good on me? Actually, what you're trying to create is this harmony of colors? That'S what the I've used as calming as beautiful and that's what you want to create with your overall look. I think a lot of people will think that neutral is the easiest one, because then they're like oh, that does that mean everything looks good on you and yes, and no so as neutral. If I want to play it more of my cool side, I definitely can say if I were to really a sh out my hair and I wore a lot of Blues and just cool tones that would work on me now. What wouldn't work is say if I toned my hair, really ashy and then wore like an orange shirt, I would look dead. Most importantly, this goes for your hair because, if you think about it, your hair is the one accessory that you never take off. Of course clothes, you can, you know we're different outfit every single day, but with your hair, color, you're, obviously going to be wearing it, for you know at least a couple of weeks until you change your hair color and then the last thing that I want to Touch on for skin versus hair tones is the important fact that anyone can be any color that they want, and I get this all the time hey, I'm like a deeper skin toned wood blonde. It look good on me or often times when I get you know someone that's trying to book an appointment at the salon or they'll say like I am latina. Do you think this kind of blonde would look good on me and it does not matter what ethnicity? How deep or light your skin tone is, someone with a deep skin tone can absolutely be blonde. Someone with super pale skin can absolutely have dark hair, actually think contrast with skin and hair. Look great. The only thing that you ever ever need to worry about is if the tones match. So if you take anything away from this video, I would like it to be that, yes, you in fact you can have any range of color that you want as long as it's in your tonal family. If you are looking to give a salon a try to just make things easier, I've left a link in the description box where you can try it out for the first time for 10 dollars only and that's a log with Free Shipping and for those who want To enter the giveaway, like I said, will be picking three lucky winners. All I have to do is go to Instagram and follow Isilon and mention Elle bangs on their latest post. I'M so super excited to do this, because I want, as many of you guys, to try this as possible. As you guys know, it's what I've been using on my roots since we've been in quarantine and, of course, having a quiz that just makes the choosing process that much easier is such a breeze. Alright, guys! Thank you so much for watching. I love you, don't forget to enter the giveaway and I'll see you in the next one bye, guys

Blu Delphinium: I’ve never really thought about matching the tone of my clothes with my skin/hair color..but it makes complete sense. I’m going to to try to b mindful of that in the future. Thanks!

* Amy *: I absolutely enjoy your channel Thank you for all the tips. Keep it up Girl!

Sam X: In my opinion this is definitely the best video for figuring out your skin tone. I've watched about a dozen others and always still kinda questioned if I had it right. She covers different methods that I've never even heard of before. Also v professional.

Frankie White: Such valuable information that is quite often overlooked. Great video! Love you and your channel

Katya Gullickson: Excellent video!!! Love how you took a new approach explaining this!

Joan Gentile: I have brown hair with honey blonde highlights. I love them!! They look great with my skin color. I have olive skin. My hair colorist is amazing!! She does a great job!!

Lex Fiumefreddo: Omg you help so much Ily ! Your so well spoken & intellectual that you bring your viewers such a understanding & with that it’s like advice that fits everyone , your so gorgeous love watching your videos thank you for putting out so much great content

Shannon: I'm a natural level 7 hair color, medium golden brown eyes, and fair neutral skintone. My colors are all over the place but I'm considering neutral. Being neutral is hard because I never know what hair color is best for me. I've been EVERY hair color. I'm known for that ( I'm the girl who always changes her hair).

GenXer: I have an olive complexion with green eyes and stylists always want to give me warm toned (honey or gold) blonde highlights. Looks horrible on me. Ash tones always look best on me, even though my skin is warm toned. They keep saying that ash is for cool skinned people. Not true imo.

Claudia M.C: Thank you so much for your tips!!! I’ll check it out!! ♥️

Jennifer D: I've always known I had cool undertones (when I was younger, I was identified as "a winter"; now I'm dating myself!). I have very pale skin and my cheeks typically have a pink hue to them, green eyes, and very dark brown, almost black hair. I definitely look better in "pure" colors like black, red, white, and jewel tones. The tip about the color of your teeth is one I've never heard before. That's so interesting and really helpful. Thanks for yet another wonderful and informative video. I always learn something when I watch your channel.

CJR G: What about medium-tan skin tones? How high should the contrast be in order to make it look natural?

Mehak Daruwala: As a dental student let me tell you everyone's teeth has a bluish tinge at the edge (incisal edge)

Kayleigh Roberts: I’ve had a bit of a nightmare with my hair! I’ve got naturally moisey blonde to dark blonde hair which was previously bleached blonde. My roots came through and we’re almost half way down my head so I thought that adding a box dye would lighten them, obviously I was wrong... I then bleached the roots and they went bright orange. I’ve since then tried putting a white ash blonde box dye on top and it’s lightened it but the back of my head was still orange. (Basically I’m trying my best to not use bleach again to damage my hair) yesterday I put a purple shampoo on my hair and left it for 30 minutes, this has now left the middle to lower section of my hair pretty ash blonde to almost purpley blue but my crown is still orange. I don’t know what to do with it now, although my hair feels fine and quite soft still I’m nervous I’m going to damage it a lot and it will stop growing or will start splitting badly. I wish I could show you a picture of it so you could actually see it but any help would be really appreciated! X

Re Als: Thanks for this video i have been endlessly researching this topic and desperately need to do my hair

Alisha Parker: I’m neutral/warm and it’s def not easy lol. I’m def going to enter the giveaway bc I’ve never tried that and I need it really bad too

Joe Bibiano: You can learn your dominant undertone by the shapes of your iris. Their is a utube colorist that goes over it. I'm fair with bright blue eyes. However I'm neutral with slight golden dominant and secondary peach. So I lean more warm.

Blush Crown: Always learn something new with you Xoxo, Jennifer

Design Capsule: thanks so much for all your videos! really helps and def going to try e salon!

Suzette Smith: Well I have green hazel eyes but they do change shades of green. Either dark green, light olive green or a little bit of grey with the green. My natural is dark ash blonde, though it's turned darker as I've aged. I wear it blonde because I'm really pale with my natural color. So I'm thinking I'm either cool or neutral...

Melissa Callia: I have olive cool tone skin. Now my hair is blonde and my skin looks warm toned

Mousy Leigh: I always have a hard tome trying to figure out my hair color for my skin color.

Belinda Mosby: I am so glad I found you!!! How do I encourage my hair stylist to take in account my NEUTRAL skin tone is a big factor for my hair color? I am looking to get some highlights.

BDW: @ellebangs, Will you please explain the “icy” brunette shades on esalon? Are they cool toned? Thanks so much. I love your videos & channel.

Mich H: I've just ordered from esalon and it didn't come out the colour wanted. It was blue black. It covered my Grey's but left the ends the same. The condition wasn't very good after either! I found that L'Oréal casting gloss from the stores came out better .

SUNDIAL: I really enjoy you rvideos. I would like it if you did one on your makeup (particularly this one.) What you use , how you apply it, etc... I would also like it if you included the hair color products you use in each of your videos.

Cristina Antoniuc: Way too excited for this YAY!!! also you look so fresh and GLOWING!! ❤❤

iammonroewolf gaming: I’m black and my hair is blonde and I look damn good

Alice Mehtemetian: do you have any suggestions for box die that is ok? i live in switzerland and esalon doesn’t deliver here and they don’t do “bleach” as my solution for a LOT of white hair on my natural dark deep brown hair was to go blonde

Yasmin Caan: I'm trying to be brave an embrace my Grey's so now the long process of transitioning an out of my comfort zone.. would be nice to feel put together! Which at moment don't feel as well groomed as I use to

Wholy Hair: love your videos! I am also a hairdresser on youtube :) just subbed!

Eunice Reyes: Ellen, are you still doing hair consultations? Always following and waiting for you to open your salon here in Camarillo

Yasmin Caan: Your gorgeous very helpful bless u❤️

cindy vanessa: Thank you!!

Melinda Mitchell: I watch this looking at how gorgeous you are and think "Oh, I give up". I want to look like you.

Maria Johanne Pedersen: Ehmm.. Every time I hear or see about all that what colors suit ones skintone or not, I always think.... the natural color on a person’s head should definately suit our skintone, RIGHT. So... I just don’t get why some hair dressers make a huge deal out of this.... What I really mean is, whatever they say, our natural colors will ALWAYS suit us best!

Tammie Parrish Miller: I'm in love with your top in this video! Where did you get it please?

Curlrockin Crazy: I have olive skin and neutral tone, and I love being blonde, but I look washed out. I can’t decide if I need to go ashy or what?! Help lol

Canal da Pretinha: Olá linda,eu também acho que podemos usar qualquer tom,só devemos ser harmoniosos.Beijo

eva psachulia: Hello Silvia !!!! Have you bleached your roots ? I love your hair and hair color so much !!!! You are so pretty ❤️

Winter Matherne: I think I'm a medium neutral yellow although i have alot of cool red coming through like a beet.

makeuploveculture: Ok so I’m gonna be the annoying kid in class because I still have questions. I’m definitely on the warm slightly neutral side. However it’s still not the right color because I believe I’m actually olive toned. Which is very very hard to find the right foundation for and well hair color. Obviously I can imagine that a warmer toned hair would look good but I’m going to be even more annoying and ask if you could give picture examples?? I’m a visual person, not trying to be nit picky.

Butterfly: Your hair color is beautiful you look fabulous. Starting hair school once again this time @Paul Mitchell; however I already have four hundred hours done have but eleven hundred more to go. Happy Tuesday

sailorm00n pie: Being honest, I don't think the icy blonde is the best time for you. Your skin looks grayish. A warmer blonde would look nicer

N C: To neutralize those yellowish and orange colors in your hair, do you still think Wella T18 toner is the best option, or is there any other better product now? Thank you

selena harris: I tried them and they are good if you want to go darker but not light. I have light blonde hair wanted to go strawberry but the colour they gave me would turn it a really dark red then light red

Tessa Y.: i’m cool toned with chocolate brown hair and brown eyes.. and i really want to dye my hair like light brown but idk if it will look good

Amanda Hope: Isn't it true if you order blonde color online and you have dark hair, it's going to turn orange because you need a toner? To go that drastic you need to have it done professionally, right?

olivia ;D: That's great info and advice, thanks Silvia!! Can i ask you where you got your shirt/jacket?

Wendy: Sylvia I can't get that loaded on my phone but I'll mention ellebangs and your channel to alot of people already ♥️ but it's okay maybe one day looking forward to hopefully working w you and consulting w you on my hair God bless and have a wonderful day!!

Michelle Borden: Veins are blue purple sun use tan me but after I was a teen I burn I have native blood but super pale I buy 1st shade in foundation no matter the undertone bc I usually buy 1st three shades in foundations but every brand is different sometimes it’s a slight undertone other times the undertone is bright yellow undertone if it’s light yellow it’s ok sometimes if it’s pink it’s to pink or it’s ok or peach its to orange or it’s ok netural if it’s not like a gray undertone then the foundation is usually just to dark on me idk how explain it I can not find a foundation that matches my neck perfectly like none at all I like silver better so all this matches cool I usually pick cool foundation it matches better then most BUT my eye color my ID says hazel that’s warm… but hazel don’t have blue mine do my eye colour the outside ring is dark blue then dark green then goes into a light green/yellow colour then nexxt to the black part is gold/orange mg eye color makes no since so I’m confused

Foxleaf: The eye color thing doesn't work for me. My life is a joke. I have red hair, hazel eyes and cool skin. Lol

cringey trash can: I am neutral will I look great with a light warm blonde?

Anita Rosenberger: Do you still do hair? Cut/color? Would love to either have you do my hair or maybe do a private consult over video - possible?

Kim Wold: You looked like Bella from twilight, you looked very beautiful with the dark hair and pale skin

Hannah Schriever: I’m neutral but my eyes are a cooler (almost blue) hazel

Robin Dusch: I’m still very confused. I have green eyes and medium brown hair when it’s not colored What am I...cool, neutral, warm? My veins are more bluish, so does that make me cool. And if so, can I have darker hair? I want to go darker because my hair is golden blonde right now but doesn’t blend well with my summer skin tone. Thanks Sylvia

Raven J: Hi! Thanks for all the videos. One question, What is that new bronze color hair Chloe Kardashian has now?

Guts and Grit TV: You're eyes are very green today! Pretty :)

Tori R: I’m definitely cool and definitely warm cool teeth and veins, warm skin and eyes

Μαριλένα Δημητρά: I am pale, I have pink undertones and I have dark green eyes. What hair colour should I get?? xx

Sheldon Aditya: I'm neutral and I'm too tan because I often go to tanning bed often

moodywitbooty: Can someone with cool skin toned be strawberry blonde?

Pamela E. Moreno: At the end of the day color your hair WHATEVER color you want no matter WHAT skin color you are!!!

Phulana De Thal: Latina doesn't necessarily mean brown skin, eyes and hair. There are Native American latins and there are European latins. https://www.semana.es/belleza/amaia-salamanca-apunta-color-pelo-moda-otono-20201001-002269960/?amp

Tiffany Dee: I need deets on that jacket you're wearing!

Eva S: I have a red skin tint, with blue eyes. I really need help with that

annheong:

polar bear: Hair colors for freckled, pink cool skin?

Narcos Zay: great video bro

Natasha Graves: I'm neutral! My veins are blue, my hair is natural medium ashy brown with fair skin, hazel eyes lol

Squishy: My mom has blue eyes and has a yellowish pale skin while I have hazel eyes with pink pale skin

Barwry Officials: Good luck sweetie today love roses pretty perfect

Col. Ruby Dimples: I have cool toned blueish green eyes with a brown spot, guess that's neutral XD

Amelia Bateman: I'm a natural redhead (copper) with pale skin and blue eyes but have no idea what skin tone that would be – anyone know?

Kirsty Macfarlane: Thanks Silviya xxx

Jesus Martinez: Can A guy have level 10 Blonde if he has Natural black hair?

Narcos Zay: nice video bro

Tarren Mari: *cries in light olive*

Jasmine: Your so beautiful

Mahnoor Häring: Still this hair color somehow makes your complexion a little washed out, I am not a hairstylist but this I noticed.

QT Yogini: Link your necklace please

Ritika Singh: 4:43 why don't people actually show their own veins when they say that they are _this_ toned.. those pictures aren't real skin or real veins.. plus why is warm skin always depicted as darker skin.

Vanessa Rodriguez: Kannst du auch ein video auf deutsch machen?

7 Rings: This didnt help anythin lol im asian/oriental with bubble gum pink hair lol

Danyelle Hall: I have hazel eyes and fair skin tone and brown hair what am I?

Joanna Jade: My skin is light my eyes are honey brown my veins look blue lol I have no idea what I am I dyed my hair it looks like it's a light brown it doenst fit me I look red lol help.

Ritika Singh: 7:07 thank you.. it's almost like I didn't actually know that :)

Ayaka Ayaka: Theres no such thing as neutral ^^ it s a spectrum. Neutrals are 9 times outta ten are warm and delicate. There are basiczlly 4 types : warm and delicate / warm and radiant/ cool and delicate / cool and radiant. Period ^^ Silvia you are more a warm and delicate : you wouldbe complemented by rose gold and muted gold more than silver. Thats why you lean towards kaki colors for exemple. In the spectrum warm and delicate are thé closest to the hypothetical neutral. Nothing look as bad as on a warm and delicate than other types. Check merriam style Channel to know about this very accurate analyzis

Queren M: im olive lol

carolina troxell: E salon is horrible if you have light blonde hair. My natural color is medium blonde. I was coloring it at home light ash blonde. I decided to give E salon a try. They will not give you a light blonde color even if your natural is not to far off from it. They said oh that can’t be done without bleaching. That’s a lie. What a thought was supposed to be a light blonde from them turned my hair almost red! That’s when they tried to send me an even darker color to fix it! No way. I assume El must just be using a dark color and doing a shadow root if it’s from them.

Benziar Fadel: No such thing as neutral it’s a spectrum how much blue how much yellow if I ash out my hair it’s not going to flatter me even if I’m a neutral...because I am a neutral warm it’ll emphasize that I have more yellow then blue. You are a neutral cool the olive you are wearing is not flattering on you. Also bone structure plays a role in color I look ok in neutral blonde hair however it tires me out because I have contrast in my features and contours I need dark hair to support me also if you have dark eyes and go blonde you should leave in dark roots otherwise you’ll have the illusion of beady dark eyes
