Kristyn Alexandria: This is the furthest thing from dark brown and the fact that the darkest shade is called black is both offensive and perpetuates colorism. To say that the darkest skin tone is black and then have a picture with a lighter skin woman with long curly hair and label this picture as dark brown implies that she is not really black, making her more appealing and accepted. Adding to that, the picture used to represent the color black has a darker skin, African American woman with permed hair, giving her more European qualities. As if to say if she had natural hair that is "too black". You missed the mark BIG TIME. Go back to your marketing team and try again and this time make sure there are WOMEN of color sitting at the table.
