Hey guys it's jessie v, i am yellow. I had to bring some sunshine into this backdrop, all right. So, as you can tell by the title of today's video today, i'm going to be talking about your hair color so about a month ago. I did a whole video on what your eye color means and today we're talking about hair, we're talking about natural hair colors. So if you're watching and you have pink hair, green hair, blue hair, that's still amazing you're, gorgeous and beautiful, but we're talking about. What'S underneath that what you were born with, i mean if you were born with blue hair, then you're either an alien or a mermaid or a fairy, and i love that anyway. Before i get started, though, i have a really exciting announcement. So, a couple years ago, youtube actually allowed me to have what was called channel memberships on this channel and i did use it, but i never used it to the extent that i really wanted to so i've totally revamped my channel membership. So anyways, let's get right into today's video, so we're first going to talk about red hair because honestly i was able to find so many myths and legends about that. Color hair. It'S insane legends and myths about people with red hair can be found in the ancient and sometimes present, cultures of countries like egypt, germany, greece, among others. The real science behind red hair is a mutation of the gene known as mc1r. Red hair is a recessive trait and the rarest of all colors seen in fewer than one percent of people in the world. So if you're watching this right now and you have natural red hair, you are rare. Okay, the first myth is bizarre. It is believed that people with red hair are half human half alien. Some conspiracy theorists believe redheads are actually the result of aliens breeding with humans. Their evidence includes the existence of many red-haired kings and queens and a supposed alien race known as lyrins, which are said to have red, hair and light-colored eyes. There'S this one article that i found that literally says think about it. Why did several kings and queens of europe have red hair? Even though percentage-wise redheads are fairly rare, i don't know, maybe they were just rare. Maybe it was a coincidence or maybe aliens and humans. Alright, the next myth is that people believe redheads turn into vampires after they pass away. I think this was more believed in greek mythology. When a redhead passed, they would wake up as a vampire and go the rest of their lives as a vampire. Redheads were also believed to be witches for some reason. Many people just thought they were these evil, bad creatures, which is horrible. Honestly, i would love to be a vampire, though then we have a story about the first red haired person ever now. This legendary figure was apparently named, prince eiden and it is said that he acquired his red hair after visiting atlantis. He arrived during sunset and was so amazed by the beautiful red colors of the sky and the clouds that his hair turned bright red. So they say that he became the first redhead ever and that the rest of his family had red hair. It was just it's an interesting story, and then, lastly, we have a myth that people with red hair bring good luck. Some superstitions believe that rubbing the head of a redhead will bring good luck because the hair color is so rare and in poland it's said that if you spot three people with red hair at the same time, you will win the lottery and apparently back in ancient Rome, red-haired enslaved people were actually more expensive partially due to the belief that they would bring their new owner wealth and luck times were strange back then, anyways, though we are now gon na move on to blonde hair natural blonde hair is caused by a lack of Pigment called uma linen this pigment deficiency is what gives blondes their hair color. The general explanation as to how blondes came into being is related to the need for vitamin d and lower levels of sunlight in some regions. It is said that blondes first started appearing 11 000 years ago. Apparently, during the last ice age, two of the norse goddesses, their names are sif and freya. They were both blondes sith was a wife of the god thor. She was known for her golden hair and was described as the most beautiful of women, and then freya was characterized as the goddess of love, beauty and fertility. She had blonde hair and blue eyes and was said to be the fairest of all goddesses. Now, in european tales, it is said that fairies actually prefer blonde people and blonde babies were most likely to be taken from their cribs and switched with changelings. I'Ve actually done a whole story time on that before it's, basically, when fairies go and switch a real baby with a changeling which is like a fairy creature, i believe, and young blonde women were often enticed to join the lands of the fairies. So it's crazy fairies. Just love blonde people, apparently then we have brunette hair brunette hair is the most common hair shade in the world, with more than 90 percent of the population identifying as brunette in western popular culture. A common stereotype is that brunettes are stable, serious, smart and sophisticated. Now, apparently, brunette, hair or brown hair was the most desirable hair color in the 1600s, specifically in europe. Now people actually wanted this hair color so badly that they would use lead combs to darken their hair color. Not knowing that this lead comb could lead to kidney failure or death, so they would literally risk their lives to have brunette hair, an old roman recipe for dark hair dye included, charred eggs, boiled walnut shells, leeks and leeches. And lastly, we have black hair black hair is the darkest and most common of all human hair colors globally, it is a dominant genetic trait and it is found in people of all backgrounds and ethnicities. Those with very dark brown or black hair, whether natural or artificial, are often regarded as having a uniquely exotic beauty. The dramatic romantic connotations of black hair begin with an ancient egyptian ruler named cleopatra, who is believed to have enhanced the starkly black tint of her hair. With tinctures of henna and indigo, now back in the renaissance era, shakespeare actually immortalized the captivating beauty of black hair, with a series of love poems addressed to this mysterious dark lady that he spoke about whose identity has never been revealed. But he always talked about her. Having this beautiful, dark hair in greek mythology, celine is the goddess of the moon. She drives her moon chariot across the heavens and she is said to have dark, beautiful black hair and was regarded as the personification of the moon itself. I love having dark hair anyways guys. You are beautiful and you don't have to attach yourself to these myths because you are your own person.
