I Got My Natural Hair Straightened For The First Time In 3 Years... And I Hated It.

I GOT MY NATURAL HAIR STRAIGHTENED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS... and I hated it.

Hey Everyone!

In today's video, I am going to be... getting my hair STRAIGHTENED. If you have been here for any length of time, then you know I am firmly against putting heat in my hair... But here I am! And after everything was all said and done, I didn't expect to have the reaction that I did.. I did like my hair. But you'll have to watch until the end to figure out why! ALSO, the the way I felt about my hair has nothing to do with Kyin!! He is great, his information is below lol.

Make sure to comment with any questions that you might have for me. Let's talk! Thanks for coming to my channel and spending some time with me! Don't forget to subscribe before you leave!

xoxo, Mone

Hello, hello, hello, beautiful, wonderful people. It is your girl, simone nicole, here, back at it again with yet another video, and i know that my background is very different, and that is because i am back at home in cleveland ohio for the holidays and i decided to do something kind of wild. I am going to be straightening my hair for the first time since 2018, which would mean that this is the first time in three years that my hair has been straightened. I'Ve done blowouts i've done semi straightens before, but i haven't straightened like direct heat straighten. My hair, since i was 22 years old and i'm now 25., i am going to the same person that retouched my highlights, if you guys have not seen that video i'll pop it up in the screen for you guys to see my highlights are very faded. Right now, mad faded. They look much better on camera, but, oh, oh, my battery's dying. Give me one sec. My highlights look much better on camera than they do in real life. They'Re, actually very faded. I'M not going to have him bleach, my hair, because that is actually what i believe messed up. My hair before my curl pattern was fine, but the integrity of my hair is really bad, so i definitely need a trim. It'S gon na be a cut which is completely fine with me, is what it is you guys. I want to be the example that it is about health over length. If you do not cut your split ends, the split ends will continue to split higher and higher and higher we're also going to, like, i said, refresh my highlights: we're going to do a olaplex treatment just to help rebuild the bonds that were broken from the bleach. That was on my hair back in 2019 2020, so i'm gon na. Take you guys, along with me for the process ken did my hair before i will have all of his information linked down in the description box. I am in cleveland um. He works at a salon. Loft in a city called woodmere if you're in the cleveland area, we are gon na head out and let me not keep you guys waiting any longer hey. It'S me and ken we're back at it again. Do you guys recognize ken from before the last video raise your hand if you recognize ken right, i recognize i recognize penn state. So what do you want to do today? Can we do this, but more purposeful, yeah yeah, but do you want it like this color um? Nothing, that's like anything! That'S just the passion in color, so i can do. I can probably get you to more like a golden brown color at the lightest. Okay, if you don't want to, if you don't want to use like bleach or anything like that like if you just want to use like um like color yeah, oh, is you know what i want to say baby? What'S up um, you hmm, that's so much uh! Um um pretty is is: is it's not good enough for me since i've been with you, it's not gon na work for you, nobody can eat with me, okay. So that brings us to the end of today's little vlogging vlog. The reason why this video is titled, the way that it is, is for no other reason than the fact that i am just not used to seeing myself with straight hair, like i guess i just didn't quite fully understand how much of my like identity um. I get from my curly hair. I feel so me with it that when i don't have it, i'm like hoppo who's that man, a part of me, is also like. Look at you growing out of those euro-centric beauty standards. A part of me is really happy because i was afraid that i was gon na get my straight hair and then feel like my best self, but having my hair straightened has just confirmed to me that i am a curly girl. I will be a curly girl for life, full transparency. This video is being filmed two weeks after i went and got my hair done so that footage is about two weeks old. So if you would like to see how i refresh my wash and go - and you guys will also be able to see how i take care of my hair while it is straight whilst avoiding heat damage, that video will be posted literally in the next one or Two days so make sure you are subscribed and that you turn your post notifications on. Also, if you recognize that i outfit repeated, i are so obsessed with me and my i wanna know: anyways child. That'S gon na bring us to the end of today's video. I'M gon na have all of ken's contact information down in the description box if you would like for him to do your hair if you are in the cleveland area, and that is going to be it for today's video. Thank you guys so much. I appreciate you all so stinking much remember to keep positivity in your life because positivity breathes positivity and we have absolutely no time for negativity in 2021 i'll see you guys super duper soon in the next video bye, guys.

Angela Hill: Your hair turned out great and I understand your comment about growth and Eurocentric beauty standards. We have come a long way in being able to accept our natural hair in our everyday lives and having others accept us in particularly in our professional lives and schools. We are blessed that our hair is so versatile.

ele_doodle: I mean this in a somewhat brutally honest way that can be construed very sassy via text but...eurocentric beauty standards? Why can't, black people enjoy the process of certain things without bringing in race? Content of our character. Let's reach for that goal! We do not live in a perfect world and therefore will not have perfected all things. That's just the way it is. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like almost most black girls (or us folks period) on YT have to continuously criticize anything "eurocentric" or "white" when the content has NOTHING to do with it. There is enough diversity going around. We all get it. History will tell you that it doesn't matter how far down you shove this stuff, some people just don't change or care but we create our own standards and live by them and stop giving a hoot about what other people's standards are. Just enjoy the process and be excited about the many different ways our hair can be worn. There are plenty of "eurocentric" people who have naturally curly hair. I would say: "Wow, look at my hair in its straight form! That's beautiful!" We need to stop attaching eurocentric labels to things that our own hair can achieve to have! It's straight black hair and looks beautiful! Pocahantas in this bish! This is just my unwarranted opinion...it just seems like as a people, we have to constantly keep ourselves in the cycle of "color of our skin" rather than "content of our character." It turned out lovely though!! Stay positive!

Review It With T!: Not harpo who dis woman

Atomaticbill T: Honey that hairstylist did not straighten your hair, she did a bad job and I think I saw a white arm, you should've gone to a black salon. At the end of the day your hair is beautiful but the stylist didn't style your hair properly.
