Hi, I'm Daniel Rob, hair stylist from Los Angeles, California, and today, I'm here to talk to you about how to hide thinning hair on women. This is a really really tough subject. It'S heartbreaking generally, we think men are the ones that lose their hair and it's perfectly acceptable, but this is a situation that plagues many many women, a very high percentage of women in our society, and there are ways of helping this situation. One of the ways is to have your hair cut strategically, either, have your hair cut in layers or, if that's not the best way to go, wear your hair more one length. That would be something you would consult with your stylist and decide with them. Another way that you can help hide your thinning hair is by using colored powders or colored sprays that match your hair color, the scalp being lighter. Of course, then, our hair color creates a dramatic contrast, so by using these powders, once your hair is done, it kind of hides or masks or camouflages. If you will the lighter areas where the thinning is happening, therefore, making your hair have the illusion of thickness. Another suggestion that I share with people is using hair pieces, wigs or hair systems. Those are easy to find. There are companies that offer services that specially make and alter these pieces, and they can be worn for months at a time and you can swim in them and wash them, while still on your on your head in the shower they're, very functional and can look very Natural, if style correctly and lastly, if you want to go a surgical route, hair restoration surgery or hair transplantation, surgery isn't just for men, it's very popular with women, though it's a subject that isn't talked about very often, there are quite a few women having this done. The percentage through the years is, is getting higher and higher. It'S gaining more popularity with women. They take the hair from a donor area. Usually it's the back of the head, this nape, what we call the nape area, that's where hair is the thickest and then they replace the thinning areas with that hair through a special surgical process. It'S not very painful and the end result once the hair grows back is a much thicker look and if you're interested there are a lot of doctors out there that be happy to consult with you and answer your questions or a lot of them have websites that You can go on and and find out information about this process how it works, what it does, what the results could be and so on. Mey The Skunk: Nioxin is also a good option when your hair is getting too thin. There are no miracles, but Nioxin shampoos and scalp treatment is very effective in the long run and will help the hair grow stronger and thicker. (but this is a long process.)
