Hair Tips : Women'S Emo Hairstyles

The emo hairstyle for women is all about the haircut itself, which consists of volume and height on the top, with long straight layers underneath. Tease the top of the hair to the desired shape with a brush or a comb keeping it smooth, full and rounded with a long side-swept bang over one eye as described by a hairstylist in this free video on hair tips.

Hi, my name is Kristen with salon Republic and today we're doing women's email hairstyles. So the emo hair styler is really all about the haircut lots of volume and height on the top and long straight layers underneath okay, so we're gon na start out by teasing and making it very, very full on top and very piecey. So that's really kind of the easiest way to tease. I use Mason Pearson. It'S a soft brush. Some people like to use a comb. We don't need to get that drastic with the teasing. We just want it for shape. What we want to do is we want to create roundness and fullness through the top and something tighter and more streamlined through the length, so the height and the shape come from the teasing. So you want to tease the hair in the shape that you're gon na wear it. So we're gon na take kind of rounded sections and you want to hold your section fairly vertical because we're looking for a height and you want to go down with the brush and out down, and this gives us a very kind of soft feel. And you see we can automatically build width there so now that we've got kind of our our roundness we're going to start to work on our front shape the email, the email girls. They always have that kind of really deep side part over one eye and also with the teasing. You want to make sure that it's still fairly smooth like you, don't want to see a lot of teasing underneath in the front. There are several things we can do. You can a lot of the girls like to pin the hair. Another way to get it to stay is to just tease it slightly into place. So now we go in with our hairspray, it's kind of sealing that volume and really redefine our shape. Here we created volume and roundness through the top, while leaving the ends straighter and a bit stringy feeling. We also created a very deep side, part held over to the side, either by a pin or by it slightly teasing and spraying, and that is how we did our hairstyle. Davida119: I know this video is 10 yrs old but the volume was extreme. I know I used to rock this look.. If her style was toned down significantly it would of brought out more of the girls beauty and features but instead the hairstyle was distracting and took away from her pretty face.. A lot of emo's do different forms of self harm, some because of the way they are rejected by society, others because life in general. But it's no way in hell about self harm.
