Hi, this is Annika Thompson coming to you live from Ryan, foster and alt hair care. Today, I will be showing you how to reverse perms for black women. Typically, when you have a relaxer in your hair and you're trying to grow it out, what you would like to do is start to balance the two textures. This requires you to choose natural styling. So when you have a natural texture that you're trying to grow out a relaxer there's a line called the line of demarcation, it's actually where the natural texture meets and the completely straight texture means you need to keep that balance in order to avoid breakage or a Big chop, so what we'll do in order to elongate the natural curl pattern and to keep it protected? We'Ll apply a little bit of a protective cream, and I choose tendril from our line at alt hair care. With a dollop of this. We apply it to the entire head and then take sections throughout the entire head and twist them down into two strand twist. These are typically called nubian knots. They almost look like little buns. So after you take each section I'll unravel this one, so you can see how it's done. You take two pieces of hair and you twist them together all the way to the tips. Once you do that, you create a bun, and the bun allows the hair to draw up and be a nice curly, beautiful, wave pattern that will last about a week and a half and hold you over in between your styles. This will prevent you from needing to apply heat to your hair. It'S something very comfortable to sleep in at night and it's something very easy for you to do as a consumer or in a salon at Ryan foster. We choose to use small duckbill clips in order to hold our knots and we anchor it into the base of the head making sure that each roll is laying comfortably to the scalp. After that, the client will go under the dryer for about 30 to 45 minutes. Until completely dry, once it's dry, the style will be then bled out and the client will be able to have a beautiful curly style that will last for over a week with no tangling and no maintenance problems at night to make sure that each curl is in Place you can take larger sections, combine two completely separate sections together and twist them to the ends, to make it very easy to maintain this style. This is Annika Lee Thompson coming to you: live from Ryan Foster and alt hair care with today's topic of how to reverse perms for black women.

QueenBea1979: you're not reversing anything!! you're showing a hairstyle that  you can wear during transitioning from relaxed to natural, your title is misleading.

Jasmin Lynn: How is this reversing the perm?

Kaitlin Bush: tbh that girl sitting in the chair looked like an African Queen

Alize TAylor: First of all, all she did was a bantu knot out. And lastly, the results were trash. Bruh

passion angel: When she said reverse I was like ok women can throw something on the hair and instantly ka-boom allllll natural and @ the end WTH

serena beautifully made: Helpful video!

Elyse W: First she took it down wrong. She is racking it out. Bad Business, y'all notice her hair is short though so...

Renn Waters: Well, I did not like this hair do. First, it's called a RELAXER, AND NOT A PERM. I think a updo, bun, or a Pompadour would have been 100 percent better looking.

DeKarla Kyle Fuller: Obviously she didn't pay attention in cosmetology school because black ppl don't get perms, we get relaxers, there are some that can get a perm, but majority can't. Like someone else said, this is just a transition style. Please know the proper terminology if you are going to educate people about hair. Smh....

lady shay: Why she trick me like this..I knew in my mind it was impossible..but I clicked on the video anyway. Trust your gut.

Loveth Willock: Whatever the chemicals grow out on its own.
