Hey everyone, its Gina and welcome back to my channel today, I'm going to be showing you guys how to create this really easy, messy bun for naturally curly hair. The great thing about naturally curly hair is because it is so textured you can really get sort of that formal updo look without having to do hardly any effort, because a lot of people with straight hair like to curl their hair with heat in order to get Kind of that textured PC look, but this is super easy I'd like to do this on days when I just don't feel like refreshing, my hair. What I just want to give my hair a break. What I need to wash my hair, then I can do this button it just to kind of prolong. Until I wash my hair again, it actually works better on hair. That needs to be washed because it has more texture and helps it hold a little bit better. So I'm first starting out on, I think, it's day, 3 here at this point, when I actually styled my hair on wash day, I just Co watched which doesn't completely strip the hair, so I still had some texture to my roots to style. I actually used the new, not your mother's curl talked leave-in conditioner spray, and then I used the curl talked gel and that gel definitely leaves like a texture on the hair. It almost feels like when you have a light hold hairspray in, so my hair definitely has some hole to it, and so that's the perfect texture for putting your hair up like this, because it's not going to droop and fall throughout the day. The other secret. With this is, I usually do not refresh my hair at all, because if I start wetting my hair down and detangling it just doesn't ever look good when it's up, I don't have as much volume I'm trying to go for more of that messy voluminous look and If I start to refresh it just looks more like slicked back and not as messy and full, so I definitely recommend just don't touch your hair too much it don't try to detangle it or anything. So the first thing that I'd like to do is kind of shake out my roots a little bit because usually when I sleep on my hair, sometimes my hair can get pressed down to my head and this is day 3 hair. So I want to kind of add in some volume before I put my hair up, so all's I do for that is I just take my dry hands place them right at my roots and sort of lift the hair away from the scalp. You can also kind of shake out your roots and give yourself a little bit of the scalp massage. That'S just going to help perk up your roots and give you some more volume before you go in and put your hair up, and I had a little Friz underneath I do have some tangles underneath, but I'm not gon na worry about detangling those. But I am just gon na smooth down some frizz with some of this new, not your mother's curl Chuck refreshing curl foam. This is a foam that I think works fine on dry hair because it does have water in it. So you don't even have to add water to your hair. I actually recommend not adding any water to your hair because you want to keep those ringlets intact and I don't want to have to diffuse and all that. So I'm just applying a little bit of the foam to my palms and smoothing over the underside and even like the top area of my hair, that's going to be showing just to smooth down any frizz! So then I went and washed and dried my hands. So they're not sticky at all, because if your hands are sticky or wet it's going to cause frizz when you're putting it up. I also waited for that foam to completely dry on my hair and now I'm ready to put my hair up. So I just flip my head over and I kind of smooth down with my hands, I'm just kind of arranging the curls into place. I'M also kind of taking my fingers and gently coming through, but I'm not completely pulling my hands through and I'm not combing it entirely. I'M just kind of situating the hair underneath just to make sure that I'm getting all the curls up in the bun, like some of those shorter pieces, are getting up and I'm also tucking in any lumps that are starting to show through that way. When I put it up, I'm not gon na have a bunch of lumps poking out underneath so I'm just kind of situating them and smoothing them out with my hands. But again, I'm not coming through my hair, I'm like barely pressing my fingers into my scalp as I'm putting it up so once I have it up on top my head now we're ready to wrap the scrunchie around it. I really like using hair scrunchies. Instead of elastic hair ties because they don't crease the hair and they also are a lot better for naturally curly hair, that's more prone to breakage. My favorite scrunchies are from my case silk. You guys have seen me talk about these scrunchies in the past. They'Re made out of mulberry silk, which is actually a rich in proteins and amino acid, so they're pretty good for your hair. They don't cause any creasing, they don't break your hair and another thing that I really like about these in particular: is they have a wider band on the inside? So it's not a very skinny band. That'S going to crease your hair, really bad or cause any breakage, and I have fine curly hair, so hair ties and things like that can really break off my hair. So I like using something that is gentle on the hair and doesn't cause any tangles or frizz. The my Kate silk scrunchies also come in a six pack in tons of different colors. I have the neutral pack and these are the small ones, but they also have the large ones as well. Depending on how thick your hair is, they do have the dimensions on their website if you want to see which ones would be best for your hair. My silk also has silk pillowcases. If you're looking for wine to sleep on at night, it's definitely a lot better. For your hair and prevent your hair from tangling at night, they also have silk sheets and pajamas and eye mask and all kind of stuff. So I will put their website link down below if you're interested. I do have a discount code for 15 % off. It'S just Gina 15. So if you want to check them out, I will put that link down below. So all I do is I just wrap my scrunchie around once you could just leave it once and not pull it through all the way, depending on how thick your hair is, but I want to make sure that my hair is not going to fall out. So I'm gon na wrap it around a second time. But when I do the second wrap, I don't pull my hair all the way through, which is how we actually get the bun majority of the way through. But I leave maybe two inches of my curls out and I like how, at this style the ends of your ringlets kind of stick out across the top. So that gives a really pretty look. So once it's on top of my head, I just kind of situate. The bun part how I like it. I also kind of shift the hair around to the back, just to kind of give it that full circle. But she could leave it all in front just depending on the look that you want to have in the back. But I leave the majority of the ends and the front. If that makes sense, then a my next biggest secret for this look is I like to loosen it up a lot and then pin it down, so it doesn't fall out. So I will just gently: pull on the scrunchie to make it even looser, or you can kind of put your fingers right of your roots and pull your roots out a little bit. Having that Messier look gives that more full appearance around like the crown area of your hair and around like the hairline area, it gives so much more volume and it looks really just nice. It makes me look like I have more hair, which is always great, but in order for that to not fall throughout the day because it is so loose. I like to take a few bobby pins and just place those underneath, and I hide them within my hair and that just helps secure it to my head like so when you're moving around it doesn't start to fall out, but I don't have any issues this falling Out throughout the day I like it, looser it doesn't it pull and tug on my hair, it's great for just like preserving your curls. If you don't want to wash your hair, so once I'm done situating how I like it, if I still have some face, I want to tame, sometimes I'll. Just take a little bit more of the curl foam on my hands and just smooth over any flyaways, or you can also take any baby hairs and kind of pull them out and create ringlets with them around your finger. You could wet them a little bit if you want to have like that PC messy look where it's kind of falling down, but on a day to day basis. I usually just leave it like this and I'm good to go. That is my super easy messy bun. I hope you guys found this helpful. I will have a step-by-step list and pictures on the blog post that goes with this video, which will be linked down below if you want to save that to Pinterest. I also have another video that I did in the past with a curly updo bun and that one is a little bit more slick and more polish and I did kind of pull out some pieces and create ringlets around my face. So you can check out that video. It is older, though, and the video that I posted last week, which was a full week with curly hair, actually did two buns in that video. One of them was similar to this, but it was even looser, like I didn't want to crease my hair or anything. So I show you a very similar but even easier, look to this and then I also did a low bun that was kind of down on the side, because I didn't feel like refreshing that day. So I kind of take you through from start to finish. On Monday, when I washed my hair all the way through Saturday at the end of the week and what I did for my hair each day so I'll put that video link down below, if you want some more inspiration for buns, if you decide to try out This look, please be sure, to tag me on Instagram. I would love to see how yours turns out or you can send it to me and my D ends, and I will definitely get back to you, so that's it for today. I hope you found this helpful if you have not already subscribed to my channel. I hope you join at my YouTube family and I hope to see you back next week and I will talk to you guys soon, bye, everyone, you
