How to make a big fluffy messy bun when you have short hair:)

Hey guys it's Devin and welcome back to my channel. This is going to be a quick tutorial. Video I've had a couple. People ask me how I do such a big messy bun with my short hair. I have shoulder length hair. I am a hairdresser, so I know a couple little tips and tricks, but I love the big messy buns on top of the head. I don't really like low buns on myself, so I've kind of figured out how to make it work with short hair. So stay tuned in this video is gon na, be a tutorial on how to get your short shoulder length pair up into a big fluffy messy bun like this one, let's get started so I like to start with second or third day hair. So right now I'm just going to apply my dry shampoo. I really like the batiste brand to me. The key to getting a really big fluffy messy bun is to have a lot of texture to your hair when your hair is greasy or it's even first-day hair. It tends to be really silky and soft, so it's harder to get a really big fun. So I'm just combing through my hair and making sure all of the dry shampoo is evenly dispersed and then I'm gon na take my hairspray and just go crazy with it and give my hair as much texture and body as I can. I kind of keep scrunching it as I'm doing this just to make it really messy and dirty. So I'm going to put my hair scrunchie around my wrist and gather my hair to the spot on my head, where I want the bun to lay so now, I'm gon na show you how I do this twice. It'S really not that complicated and don't worry. It turns out different every time it doesn't have to be perfect at the end, we're going to fix how it looks so, as you can see that wasn't perfect, and now I'm going to show you again so now I want to tuck at the sides and the Top to get the desired volume that I like and then any pieces that I don't like, I'm gon na take and pin back so you kind of keep doing this until you get the desired shape that you like. So this is the part about short hair that makes messy buns really difficult. So what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na gather all of the hair, try to smooth it out as much as possible, because I really hate seeing that line of separation and then I'm gon na take a small, clear, hair scrunchie, and I'm going to put That elastic at the very end of that section, so I don't do this perfectly, but I kind of like to hide the ends a little bit into my hair and then I take two pins and I pin them downwards into that section of hair. Just to hide the bobby pins a little bit, so it doesn't look so messy and I usually use about two to three bobby pins when doing this, just to make sure that it's super secure. So this part is optional. You don't have to do this, but I kind of like to smooth out my little baby hairs in the front. I just run the straightener on them, really quick just to make them smoother and straighter. I just think it makes the look a little bit more polished and there you go. That'S the finished. Look.
