( soothing piano, music, ), Hi, everyone How's, it going Welcome to part three of three of my painting tutorials and if you guys missed the other two videos, I will link them toward the end of this video or on the bottom of this video. Other than that. I will be showing you how to paint a portrait in a very different way. In a different viewpoint. I guess you can say. And also I will be doing a giveaway on my paintings. So if you guys are interested all the rules are on the bottom of this video, so let's go ahead and get started. For this project. I was very much inspired by an artwork I saw on etsy.com.. I will post and credit all the information on my blog LifeAnnStyle.com. ( soothing, piano, music ). So for this painting you will need these brushes.. The colors I will be using for this painting are white red, yellow a sandy beige and dark brown. Start out with a pencil and sketch out your interpretation of this artwork.. Now remember, it doesn't have to be exactly how you see it.. You can draw this a little differently.. You can make this into other colors.. It doesn't have to necessarily be the same exact thing., ( soothing, piano, music ) After you have your sketch drawn out. The next thing we're going to do is paint on a base color.. I usually like to use white so that way the skin color does not have to mix in with the blue that I painted earlier.. So I'm going to paint the white along the neck line and the face and ear of this drawing.. Now, if you have lighter color hair, then I suggest you do the same for the hair part. But if you're going to make your girl dark hair, then you can leave it as is.. I'M going to turn this girl into me, so ( laughs, ), I'm going to try to replicate my skin color as close as possible. So I'm mixing in the sandy color with some white a little bit of red and then I added in a little bit more of that sandier-yellowish color, since Asian skin complexion tends to lean toward more olive and a little bit more yellow.. Now it's time to paint my mixture along the back face and neck. ( soothing, piano, music ). Now it's time to paint on the hair., Starting with the darker shade of brown. Imagine the light is coming from the front of the girl. To give it some depth. The darkest part of the hair would be on the back of her head and hair bun. After painting. The brown continue on the rest of the hair. Use a base of brown with a little bit of yellow and red to get a medium shade of brown or chestnut.. I'M making my painting with dark brown hair just because I have dark brown hair. But if you want this painting to reflect your hair, then you can of course make this into any other color. You want. Just use my guide on to how I shade and highlight. Now it's time to add in a lighter brown, so I'm going to mix the same colors together again, but this time I'm going to use a little bit more yellow and a tad bit of Red. After mixing the lighter brown go ahead and paint that over the darker brown, just like what I'm doing here., You can either blend this in or paint this on top and then blend it in later., As I'm approaching where the sun is hitting, I'm using a Lighter shade and this one is yellow and I'm just blending that into the medium brown. ( soothing, piano, music ). For the last part, I'm painting on the white and I'm using the white, as my highlight so here, is where I'm going to paint on the loose strands on the bun.. If you're feeling frustrated do not overstress yourself., This is just a painting.. It'S supposed to be fun., Don't take care or don't stress over the smaller details.. Just look at your picture. Use it as a reference as a guide and pay more attention to the obvious part, obvious pointers. Place, the paint there. Just use it as a reference and then later on, you'll feel comfortable painting.. So this is a great way to just start, picking up the brush feeling comfortable again or for the very first time and then soon enough you will get the hang of it.. Remember not everyone, ( laughs, ) was born a painter. ( soothing, piano, music ). Now it's time to shade and highlight the skin.. So first I'm going to mix a darker brown and I'm going to add and loosen that up with some water., Then I'm going to paint that to the back of the neck area. Try your best to blend the darker shade in with the lighter shade. ( soothing, Piano music ) After shading it's time to draw in the loose little hairs in the back of the neck., I'm giving the hair a wispy-like look as if the wind is blowing it., ( soothing, piano, music, ). Now, with some white paint, I'm just going to add in some highlight in the front part of the face and where the light is illuminating, the skin. ( soothing, piano, music ) After you finish getting the main details, you could go ahead in and take care of The smaller details, if you like., I hope you feel comfortable painting now and that you feel inspired to create more challenging projects in the future.. Thank you so much for watching and if you will be recreating this, then don't forget to # paintwithAnn. All right, everyone that is it for today.. I hope you enjoy this portrait tutorial.. Don'T forget that I have a giveaway. If you do want to enter all that information is below this video and if you will be re-creating any one of my paintings, you can click on either. One of this or just tag me # paintingwithAnn.. I would love love to see your re-creation. Give this video a thumbs-up.
