Are doing um the finishing touches on a restorative relaxer yeah hold on i'm getting my client together to moderate, hold on we're getting her together tomorrow? Okay, so if somebody comments you'll see it pop up right there, okay um, so we did a restorative relaxer on her um. Initially just you could turn the sound off yeah. Initially she did a texturizer at home right yeah, yes, okay! She did a texturizer at home. Um just to make her hair a little bit more manageable, but in the midst of the texturizer i guess it probably just didn't work. It just didn't work out, so she decided to get a full relaxer. But what she was also telling me is that her hair started shedding really really bad after that. Am i correct before that? Oh before that, okay and then, how does your hair do after that? It kicking down okay, good, so her hair is definitely dense. I i won't, i will not deny that um. So, basically, before we got on live today, we talked about her schedule of what her next relaxer is gon na, be which we're actually gon na do it. I said week six she's like no, let's be proactive, we're gon na do week, five, i'm like okay um. The reason why i said that is because, when you are dealing with very dense hair - and you are basically starting from the beginning, um and relaxing, but remember she also had texturized relaxed hair on the end. The processing time cannot be super long as if it was someone who was just a hundred percent virgin and they had no relaxed hair on their hair at all or texturized hair. So what we did was i used a mild relaxer on her today, because i know that when i'm doing any form of restorative relaxer, i always like to go the mild direction, because i want to break the hair down slowly. So i don't run the risk of over processing hair that is already texturized in her case or relaxed as well. In her case, she's also going to be doing a haircut today, which i definitely approve of because she has a lot of breakage on her ends where she has that line of demarcation between the natural hair and the hair that was processed before so. Today is definitely a good time, or this appointment is a good time for us to definitely go ahead and do that haircut, which she already said. I want a short bar. She already showed me where she wanted in everything, so it works out because that's exactly where she was going to be there anyway, when i'm looking at it now, you weren't already naturally going to be there um. Her hair is in good condition at this point of the process, especially because we're going to be cutting off a lot of the hair that is broken on the ends. Hey um and then she'll be back in five weeks for us to continue slowly breaking down her texture and when i say slowly, breaking down her texture. I say this to you guys a lot when it comes on to relaxers. Your hair does not have to be bone dead straight. That is not the point. Okay, you still should have some form of s pattern in the hair, but with hair like hers where she had a very dense line of demarcation, i could only break it down, but so much and keep that relaxer processing without over processing the already processed hair on The end, so that's another reason why we're gon na do it again after she gets her hair cut, because we won't have to worry about that um processed hair that was already processed from the previous time, because you're not supposed to overlap. So what i'm doing right now is just soaking her out, i'm using the elite anniversary, one-inch, titanium iron to do her, silk out, really good, really really good and then we're gon na. Do her haircut and clean up and she's actually doing an asymmetrical bond, so we're gon na preserve some of the length in the front and then in the back it's going to be nice and short and voluminous. You want it layered and layered so from here when you're looking at it on camera. Her hair looks super healthy right, but those ends are definitely there, so she has like different areas where it's broken high low, so she definitely made the right decision all on her own to say that she wants to do a haircut. So that was a really good decision, because that hair is just going to take down the beautiful hair that she has. That'S growing out any questions. Okay, so she doesn't have any product on her hair. I didn't spray her with any goddess polish. I didn't apply any frizz, tamer and shine. Serum reason being is because i know that i'm going to be giving her a haircut. That'S number one. She just got a fresh relaxer. That'S number two and number three, because i'm working with kind of two different textures of hair. I don't want to run that risk of weighing down one and leaving the other um too light or even changing her texture and making it too heavy too quickly. So we're gon na add our goddess polish when it's time for styling, but i am doing about three quarters of an inch sections to silk her out just to kind of take out that demarcation line so that we can get a nice smooth. Canvas for cutting dance, is it thick, dense and thick. It'S dense is just a better word for thick. That'S all! Oh, and when you a stylist, says man, you have an amazing density of hair. It sounds better than girl, your hair, so thick. That just sounds real unprofessional, so that's just like your doctor saying a tool is a certain name and you're. Looking at him like scissors, okay, i think somebody just asked the question: is it okay to have something? Okay, so if it bests to have dense relaxed hair instead of thick hair, no so dense and thick are exactly the same thing, they're just a better word. One is just a better word to use and, honestly you there's no such thing as, if it's better to have dense hair and have a relaxer or or whatever word you want to use, it really goes based on texture. I have fine textured, hair and relaxer, and my hair is nice and and in the best condition that it's ever been in and i'm fine with that. That'S just the texture that god gave me there's nothing that i can do to change. That am i going to be able to thicken my hair up or make more density in my hair. Not really, i can give the illusion, but that's just what i deal with that's just what comes along with the texture of hair, that i have it's no different from saying that you are african-american, you have black or dark or brown. I guess you say brown skin. Can you change your skin color to be white? No, that's just what you got so you have to work with what you got. Someone asked: what product should i use for dry relaxed hair? If you have dry relaxed hair, you can use the dry and brittle kit that kit works. Just fine, it's not super heavy and then someone asked do you provide natural hair service? I do i'm a hair care specialist, so it's natural or relaxed this hair. Is it? Okay, to use only the goddess spray for heat protectant. Absolutely so that's a good question. The question was: is it only? Is it good? Is it okay to only use the goddess spray as a heat protectant, rather than a taper and the rest of it? If the hair is natural and fine texture, yes, so if you are fine textured, you can use either or goddess polish or frizz tamer and shine serum. If you choose to use the frizz saver and shine serum just remember always a little goes a long way. If you choose to use the goddess polish, if you have really coarse textured hair, i wouldn't use the goddess polish. As a heat protectant, i would use the frizz tamer as a heat protectant, because it's a little bit heavier and it's going to coat the strands better, whereas when you're, fine textured, you don't want something that might weigh the hair down. Some people are super fine. So the goddess polish will suffice as your heat protect it. If you have fine textured hair a piece of paper just kept pulling it on and going i'm late. Why was her hair shedding? You want to tell them why you thought it was shedding. I thought it was over processed, so that's a good, that's a good answer, because your ends are definitely breaking yeah, so that kind of tells a lot that you possibly were over processed in certain areas, which is a lot of the hair that's coming off today. Yes, all right, some of you just took your head - oh just like that for me just like that, so i'm actually going to put the cutting tape on her. So you guys have a better view and she also has a better view of what i see. Sometimes. Looking at it from this point, you're thinking like oh my gosh, her hair is so amazing. We should just leave the length not knowing that that length is not real length. That length truly needs to come off all right, so i'm going to turn her around. So you guys can now see what i see when i say she definitely made the right decision to get a haircut, because when it was not on the cutting cape, it looked nice and full. Now that it is on the cutting cape, meaning her hair, you can see the choppiness. You can see the areas where there's breakage. I can point them out. So when you have that that color behind it now you don't have that black cape. The whole conversation is definitely going to because that hair is severely broken in a lot of those different places. Okay, so we're gon na go ahead and start her cut, so i'm gon na have you tilt your head down just like that? For me, someone asked me: you have products for granted soon products for dress all right. So let me just confirm you want the bob here: yeah yeah, okay, that's a good place! All right you want to, like literally just cover the edge of the nape. Yes, that is a bob. That'S another reason why i like to use the clippers. It gives me a nice silhouette that i can follow real easy, a good guide. Somebody put vitamin d for your hair vitamin d for anything at this point: you're african-american, all right, so we're going to finish out her cut, i'm going to give her some layers back here. Relax today. My hair is nice and straight, but as the loops go by and my knee grows comes when the already relaxed hair starts to have more texture um, i don't think it's the already relaxed hair that has more texture roots that have more texture, so they're going to Raise the relaxed hair so it'll appear to have more texture, but it doesn't it's just oily heavy and ready to be relaxed again. So oh can use silicone-based products first table and shine serum um other ways you can seal. When you do your wash day, you can use the flat iron to kind of help seal it as well. That'S a kind of help that kind of okay i use a plant iron daily, except on the weekends which my hair is shedding, which of these products or products, products or products. Will i need to use to correct um. This only correction is going to be to stop what you're doing. That'S really the only correction that you will you'll have at this point. There'S no product! That'S going to help! You get past that until you stop the behavior, so what i would say is if you feel like you, have to flat on your hair every day, then you need to start washing and wrapping it after the forehead. Sorry, how are you good? You need to start um washing it curling it once and wrap it for the week and then you won't have to use a flat iron every single day. That'S going to be your first line of defense, all right, so we're done with our cut, i'm actually going to um hold on okay, i'm going to go ahead and curl her and we're going to use the vivaci one and three-fourths of an inch. This is what we call the red plate. Just push it up push the back one and three-fourths of an inch. Well, you know what i'm gon na start with the inch. This one is shorter area relax. My hair after i wash my hair um, i mean after you walk. You can relax it right away, but you might irritate yourself so i'd say like a week if you're really sensitive, i too, okay. What can we do to prevent shedding breakage after applying a firm? So after relaxer about two to three weeks after you'll, do an elite repair, rx treatment, that's a protein treatment, that's typically what it is made for it to help rebuild the bonds in the hair, after breaking it down so abruptly with a relaxer, and that's really your First line of defense that protein treatment, two to three weeks after the relaxer, which usually you'd say two weeks, because that means that you are at your wash day. So i'm just using the one and three-fourths inch red plate to curl her um. This is going to be the easiest iron to use, especially for a box, so you don't get those line, those crook lines or we call them fish hooks in your hair. It puts it nice and smooth and covers a lot of brown really quickly and then the spray i'm putting on her hair. That'S just a little bit of sebastian shaper, it's just a little holding spray. It'S not making the hair hard. It'S just literally helping me to smooth the hair when i'm flat ironing. This is just my go-to. Someone asked us moisturizing everyday, keep shedding and breaking away um it can, but moisturizing every day is also creating a ground for product buildup that is going to dry. The hair out, so it's a ying and a yang me personally, i don't believe in putting styling products or moisturizers on the hair every single day i feel like it does more bad than good. Oh someone asked any any advice for hair falling out. Do you hold it? I used her protein system with the moisture care kit it stopped for a week, but still any advice. So i actually have a video that talks about copic and hair shedding. I definitely recommend you going to watch that video um after covid it like the shedding, can run for anywhere between two and nine months, sometimes even longer, and that was a study that was found a couple of months ago. That i found - and i thought it was very interesting because i'm like okay - this is something that a lot of people dealt with and nobody knew why. But then, when you logically think about it, covet affects what the blood, the immune system right, the cells hair, grows from what the stimulation of blood flow right. So if you have an issue, some type of autoimmune or an immunity issue, it's going to attack the hair. First, because that is what it's powered by, so it made total sense when we really think about it and lay it with turns, but you're going to have to just let it run its course now. Of course, you can continue to do a protein treatment like once. Every month to six weeks, that's definitely going to help make sure that you're moisturizing on wash day that's going to help to start taking some multivitamins that'll, definitely help as well. But honestly, the shedding it'll have to run. Of course, that's something that we can't just fix, because it's something internal, so they just have to run its course. Someone asked what is your opinion all the flex products? I don't use olap's products, i use elite products, so you will never hear me mention overputs. Personally, i don't even use olaplex, even if i'm doing hair color. So it's a no for me and unfortunately, olaplex was not made for african american or ethnic hair. It was not made for it. Just like keratin was not made for ethnic hair. Is there any of your products? I can use now for dry, brittle dreads the dry, brittle kit, the person that asks about products you can use now for dreads the dry brittle kit. Do i sell elite products? I am elite, so of course i'm gon na sell. My products elite, hair care is me, it is me i am her. She is me okay. It was created by these two hands right here. Yes, i haven't sold it to a conglomerate. Just yet this is. Are you located in atlanta? I am located in a place that starts with the navy, but not atlanta, i'm in apoca florida any advice to help with shedding of my hair since i had cold build because yeah, that's the second person that asked so this video is definitely going to be saved. You guys will be able to go back to the answers and also to the recommendations for products tools all that stuff. Can you help or suggest a good mentor for what purpose? If you can give me a little more detail, a good mentor for what industry not saying, i know a lot of people, because i'm really full with people, but i will do my best to help you good okay. So i'm going to say we're in barbados, i'm assuming can i get your products um andrea? Will her information will be added to the website this coming week, um she's! Actually, i'm not sure if her products have gotten to barbados just yet they were on their way. So once they are there and she's ready to launch, then i will mention it to you guys for barbados, so give it about a week or so. Do you want to mentor it as a stylist? Oh honey. Follow my videos, don't follow the people. Just trust me on that one like hairstylist mentors are not really mentors to me. I'M sorry, they usually more say want to use you and abuse you. So i would say to just kind of i'm a self-propelled learner, so i watch and learn. I can watch someone and learn something listen to someone and learn something. I don't need to pay someone to mentor me to do something and i'm not a big fan of that either. I feel like people are going to tell you what they want to tell you and that's it even when you pay them that doesn't mean they're going to share resources with you. So i'll give you just some stylist advice for the free ski be consistent. Have morals stand your ground? Try not to master a million things become a master at what you love. I could have easily mastered becoming a wevologist and i hate weaves. So why would i care to master? I mastered hair care because that's where i'm at so figure out where you want to be what you love and master that and then you can add other little things to it as time goes by. Secondly, be consistent and make sure that you have a schedule, don't be the stylist that, oh you know i felt like i'm not gon na do hair. Today, i'm gon na cancel everybody. Don'T do that be consistent, be in a professional environment that will help you excel. As well as you are contributing to paying their bills too, and not just anywhere come on, ask can they be for product in atlanta um, you can get our products on our website at elitehaircareusa.com, how's that bob looking people. Can you see your bob yeah? I love you, you've been great. This is nice. Thank you now. That is a bob. Thank you guys. So now she can go on about her life. I'M gon na put just a very small amount of elite control, edge control on her hairline. I think i'm using charcoal wood actually so we're going to add a little bit of charcoal edge taper to her hairline, just a little okay. So that's what it looks like and when i say little that much you guys see it on the hairline there. Now it does give some temporary clothes, it does give some temporary shading, but you don't want to use it as an alternative to like the elite mask fibers, that's two totally different things and then i'm just using the edge brush and brushing it in to distribute it All over her hair, if you notice, when i put it on, i put it on the hairline and then i brushed it in not slather it on your head, like lard. That'S why some of your food be greasy because y'all don't know how to cook you got ta sprinkle it on. I like messiness of bob's, i don't like too uniformly and all that i, like my bops to just be ooh girl. Who did you hear and all you did was turn your head? I'M sorry what'd you say: oh you, just don't go right down there. You want the angles, the angles, people the angles, so any direction that i comb her hair. She has angles. Okay. That is a good haircut angles. I can go on any side. That is a bob okay. If my hair flips up that's fine too okey-doke okey-doke now, because i'm a finisher, i cannot let her walk out like that. So i got to fix it all right. You guys so i hope you guys enjoyed today's video there we go giving it it's giving classy and bougie. You guys are so funny all right guys. So please don't forget: if you're new to my channel visit elite elitehaircareusa.com for any of your hair care products or tools need all the tools you guys see me use today are available on our website, as well as the products and i'll see everybody in the next Video, what which of your products do i start with first for what problem there's so many different directions. I think it said a newly relaxed, oh newly relaxed, so you'd use the hair repair kit. The hair repair kit is great for newly relaxed hair. They say your hair is bomb by the way, all right, guys, i'll see everybody in the next video. I got to go peace,
