Hi guys welcome back to my channel. I hope you are doing it really really well today. So today it's a much requested video and it's going to be my hair care routine. So if you don't know I've been on a Nokia journey for the last few years, I started out when I started here on YouTube two years ago. So if you want to watch my journey from back then to where we are today, I will leave that playlist down below. So you can check that out. So my hair were from being really quite straight, slash where you need to be really really curly and it's much longer than it was two years ago too. So it's been a really fun adventure. I'Ve tried lots of different techniques and different products, but this is the one that I've been doing for the last year and it's been working really really well for me so to get started. I usually sleep with my hair and a protective hairstyle which, for me, is a side braid or a side plat if you're from England. Like me, this is just a really good hairstyle to stop my hair from getting all tangled up, and I also think that it helps to reduce the frizz. It was the hairstyle that I had for at least a year when I was trying to grow my hair. A few years ago, so highly recommend that one, if you're, trying to grow your hair or if you're, just trying to use less heat as well. So I usually brush my hair twice a day. I use a bamboo brush. This one is really really great because it's got wooden bristles and so before the shower, I usually brush my hair from root to tip I'm very delicate with my hair, and so, if I find any little bits that I can't get the brush through I'll go from The ends of my hair and move upwards rather than straight down, because sometimes that causes more breakage wooden brushes are really great because they help to redistribute the oils from your scalp down to the ends of your hair. And it just keeps your whole hair healthy. Rather than all of the oils just being in one place, so I usually wash my hair once a week and because, if I do have to brush my hair a lot more to get those oils moving, and I think that extending the time between washes has been Such a good thing, my hair, and it really has helped to make it a lot healthier and a lot shinier, and also with brushing your hair. It really just helps to stimulate hair growth, which is something that we are one so sometimes I flip my hair upside down and give it a good brush that way too. That way, I know that I'm stimulating all of my hair follicles and it's so good for my hair and my scalp. So then I jump into the shower. I wet my hair and use lukewarm water. I try not to use hot water or cold water, but lukewarm water is really really good, because it's not going to damage your hair because the heat from the hot water can damage your head. Just like sunshine can and just like using hair, straighteners and hair dryers. Can too so that's something to keep in mind and if you do have curly, hair or you're prone to friends the cooler the water. The batter is for you and your frizz. So I'm currently is an antique, shampoo and conditioner bars and have been doing for the last year since living here in New Zealand. It was such a great swap for me, and I love the fact that it's not only natural, but it's also plastic free completely makes me so happy. I'Ve used quite a lot of different shampoo bars by antique, but currently the one that I'm living is the one bar. It'S my favourite scent and my hair really just seemed to like it too. So there are so many different ones that you can try out and there's another one as well, and they just brought out which I thought I would share with you guys today called the tone it down shampoo and they also have a conditioner bar. It'S a bright purple, shampoo bar for people who have colored hair, which is really unique, and so the purple is really good for people that have, you know highlights maybe even natural highlights or blonder hair. Maybe it's natural too. It'S just gon na really help to brighten up that blonde that and remove all of those brassy tones to be warned. This will be like a normal purple shampoo, so you will get purple bubbles and purple water too, so yeah really cool and it smells so nice like violets. So I thought I would just mention that in there and I wanted to say these items have been gifted to me by a teat which is really kind of them, but it's really nice to be able to share their range with you guys. I really enjoyed doing it and I really enjoyed collaborating with companies that I believe in so I do have a discount code if you're interested and it's 10 % off with the code I lived in the life you love at checkout, so to use these bars. I swipe them down from the roots of my hair to the middle of my hair. I usually avoid the ends because I don't want to dry them out, and the shampoo will just naturally go down there with gravity and when I wash it out too, so I usually wash my hair twice. So in the second time I find that I get a much better lover. Like I said at the beginning, I only wash my hair once a week, and so that means that there is a lot of buildup on my hair just from grease and everyday pollutants from our Erin environment, so that first, while she's just really removing those toxins and Just all of that and then the second wash is really getting in there and it's really cleaning my hair. I have a lot of hats ooh, so maybe if you got shorter hair, you want me to wash twice, but I do find that Washington is just really helped me a lot and you don't need a lot of product to do it either. This shampoo bars main ingredients are cocoa, butter, lavender and eucalyptus, as well as betaine, which is actually sugar derived from me. True, that's proven to soften hair and prevent irritation. What I love about their teach and poobahs is that one bar of shampoo is actually equivalent to one liter of shampoo and a plastic bottle. How amazing is that so once I finished washing my hair and then wash it all out and use the conditioner bar, I swiped this from the roots to the ends of my hair and use my fingers to comb through my entire hair, and I just give it A little bit of a scratch to just to you know help to cover all of my hair follicles in this conditioner, and once I have done it feels completely different after a few seconds of just rubbing. This around your hair will be so so soft and silky. It'S amazing, and it just feels so good. It feels literally like using a normal conditioner, I'm an absolute comfort. I never meant that out and once I'm out of the shower, I use a turbit. Our this towel helps to dry my hair, but the microfiber in the towel causes less damage to my hair, and it also helps prevent frizz, which is a common occurrence if you use a normal towel, because your hair just gets too stuck on those little tiny loops. So the light sleep shuttle has the better. It is for your hair if you do struggle with frizz, so I've had my Turbie towel for years, but I do highly recommend it and mine still work in a dream too. Once I'm dressed, I take my hair out. The towel - this is one tip that I highly recommend it's very important to not let your hair completely dry out inside of a towel, because it's gon na suck all of the moisture out of your hair and leave it a lot frizzier than it would have been. If you'd have let a dry, I then applied the curl enhancing smoothie by sheer moisture. This is one product that I really love in its not zero waste, but I do class it as low waste because I have to use so little. It'S also free from sulfates parabens phthalates and it's also on the curly girl method. So if you do follow the Cali girl methods, you can use this product to, I loosely follow the curly girl method. If I do you really like this product, so all I do is apply a tiny amount to my hands and then ribbon together and scrunch it into my hair. All over times I like to just rub my hands down the back of my sides at my hair. Just to help with the frizz bag, that's usually where I do get frizz. I have a lot of new growth from those hair, they're really tiny and are much more prone to frizzy. Once I've applied the product to the entirety of my head, I then scrunch with a Turkish towel and leave it to dry. This is the towel that I use on my body and I just like to scrunch it just a little bit just to get that curl. Pat and go in really really strong, and it just helps to remove any extra product to have on there too. So once that's done, I let my hair dry, naturally, and just you know, go outside into the wind I'll, just stay in my house, which has the heating system and that's just how I dry my hair, just let it do what it wants to do and that's Basically, it some days is a good hair day other days, not so much. It'S like that for anyone with curly hair, but I have more good hair days than I have bad hair days these days, and that makes me very very happy so, as I said quite a few times to this video, I do wash my hair once a week Where possible, I'm not too busy learn about this. It doesn't have to be every seven days, but it's just as long as I can go without needing to wash it. I try and avoid to use dry shampoo because it does dry out my hair and I don't think it's good to soak up all of our natural oils either. But if I do need to do it going out when I don't have time to wash my hair, I will just use some cornflour or arrowroot powder. I did used to make my own dress shampoo but, like I said I've kind of moved away from doing that. So much here in Queenstown too, I'm always wearing a beanie, so I don't really need to worry too much about what my scalp looks like and it's definitely been a really good thing for my hair. So these are the products that I'm currently using on my hair. I have these two shampoo and conditioner bars and the sheer moisture smoothie. So these this is literally it it's not very much at all. Like I said, I also try to avoid damaging my hair by using protective hairstyles such as a side braid. If it's my inner side braid, then it's up on the top of my head in a messy bun, and I use this little clip here. It'S just a matter of clip, and I just place it here on my head and it just really helps to keep my hair out of my face and you notice it move around too much or cause any breakage. So I think I covered everything. Let me know if you have any questions in the car I'll leave a link to all of the products I mentioned in the comment box below. I really hope that you enjoyed this video guys and I'll see you in another one. A very soon have a great day bye. You

Living the life you love: Have you tried the no poo or curly girl method? I'd love to hear your experience! ~ All products mentioned are in the description box ~

Mally Makings: Yayyyy. I’ve been so looking forward to seeing this video. Upon your recommendation I too have been using the ethique shampoo, conditioner, body butter and face bar. My hair is long but very fine. I only wash once a week and I’ve noticed a huge difference. It’s soft, it’s silky, it feels really clean, smells amazing and I absolutely love not having an irritated scalp. Thank You so much for introducing me to this fantastic brand. You’re a star!xxx

Kira: Loved this video <3 I have been on a journey towards zero waste living, and honestly my hair was (and is) a big obstacle. I have very very curly (I think it is 3a-3c) curls and I have such a struggle with products because it is either too heavy or too light for my hair. I also figured all of the chemical etc in regular shampoo and conditioner might also be what has started changing my hair. I went ahead and ordered the hair sampler and am sooo excited to try it out. Thank you for your curly hair routine video :D

Bettina Marrone: I've been following the curly girl method for a few months now, but I really not brushing my hair. It's good to see that you do and your hair still looks really lovely so you give me the courage I need to commit this "curl crime". Off to dry brush my hair.

Quattro Formaggi: This is such a lovely video! I've just started reading about the CGM but it often involves so many products and styling. I like to live a minimalist (and lazy ) life and don't want to have 10 products for my hair, plus having to style it with a Denman brush / diffuser etc. It's good to see that it is possible to embrace your natural waves / curls without needing so much! Thank you for this video, it is very useful!

Tara D: Thank you so much for this video. I am just starting with this method and was searching for simple eco routine. Rushing to my local eco shop for those cute bars!

Becky: In a previous video you mentioned the towel you used with your hair, I changed towels to one without loops to try it out, and less frizz! Thanks for the tip!

Chelsee Dagger: I love the Ethique shampoo and conditioner bars. I'm using the frizz wrangler and The Guardian, I bloody love them! Took them on my holiday recently and they held up pretty well in their container. Very happy. Good video!

acastacie: Loved this video! Your aesthetic is so pleasing ! Keep it up ! ☺️

Christina Marie: Your hair is so beautiful! Hope you are having the best week! xo

Rebb: Hi Kay, I have tried no poo many times and it just did not work for me. Love ethique! I use the st clements and wonderbar and they are excellent.. the best shampoo bars I have tried. I alternate between those and sukin depending which is on sale but I appreciate the low waste of the ethique. I do not do the curly girl method.. though I would probably benefit from it as my hair is wavy and frizzy (how lovely). Atm I am as fuss free with my hair as possible.. but when our youngest grows up a bit I will probably look into it further. Thanks for the information, my future hair thanks you enjoyed your video as usual. For anyone wanting to try ethique in Australia you can purchase from nourished life and I believe flora and fauna online. I’ve also seen them in heath food stores.

Ethique: Love the "how to use" section of the video ~ Jen

Spandita Nandi: Wavy girl who brushes hair twice a day and plaits at bedtime. THE VIDEO I WAS LOOKING FOR. Thank you so much!

Cathy Lynn Pietranton: Hi Kay thank you for sharing your hair routine with us your hair is beautiful and we like your curls❤

Annika: I‘ve just ordered a few bars and used your discount code. Thanks for that! Can‘t wait to to use them now. Will probably take a while till they arrive though and customs will cost me a fortune. Too bad the UK stores don’t stock the whole range...

Kamila F: Your hair is so beautiful! When I finish my naturtint shampoo and conditioner (in plastic bottles unfortunately) I will purchase the ones you recommend! I have tried solid shampoos/conditioners in the past (lush, pure chimp, funky soap), but none of them did any good to my hair, hair was oily after washing it even when I was using in for a month so it had time to get used to the product, but nah, it didn't work. Ethique looks promising though! Thank you for great video, have a great weekend!

TRIVENI CHANRASHEKAR: Very nice and simple hair routine..love how it looks. I always wanted my hair to look like this with no big clumps. Did you brush your hair after removing it from the turbie twist?

Heather Frampton: ❤Shea Moisture products and One shampoo bars are wonderful! I have successfully used 1802 Beekman Shampoo Bars. ❤ You have such beautiful hair! I agree with not washing hair so often. I also so rarely use heat styling appliances. I air dry or sleep with my washed hair in a braid or twist overnight. It then looks like I spent so much time on styling, and my hair looks so healthy. I have also seen using an old, clean t-shirt to wrap around freshly-washed hair. ❤

Country Pines Cottage: I use chickpea flour, and rinse with either acv/lemon juice diluted with water, or herbs steeped in water, my fav is thyme. I also put argon oil on the tips while it's still wet. I wash my hair once a week, sometimes go longer. In between washing, I use my home made dry shampoo which consists of arrowroot flour and oat flour, it's a miracle dry shampoo! Thanks for sharing, Tiina

Sarah: Fab, less is more, I find this is enough for my curly hair routine too, nice to see x

luckyDancer100: We have the exact same routine. The only thing I haven’t avoided yet is the plastic bottles. I find the bars melt in the shower and really strip my hair.

Autumn Smart: I'm super confused. If you only wash your hair once a week (like i do too) how do you brush it twice a day without it going massive? I literally brush my hair on the day i'm washing it

Panda: Your curls look like how Leonardo da Vinci painted them! both have similar highlights

Michelle C: Very helpful video! Thank you so much!

Lex Workout: I'm curious. How do you extend your hair wash? Do you wet your hair every day? If you dont how do you keep your curls nice? Thanks

Alisha Chugg: Thank you for the video! Your hair is gorgeous! I did have a question. I live in a desert and struggle with dry hair throughout the week. Do you have any oils you would recommend?

alibone195: You’ve got gorgeous hair

Gabie: Hi, I'm trying to make the switch to shampoo and conditioner bars. Do you use any type of Leave-In Conditioner or do you use the Curl Enhancing Smoothie in place of that?

Mica Bajacan: Hii! so whats your hair care routine when you're not washing your hair? I notice that you only wash it 1 a week.

Anna: I love watching your videos♥️♥️

JoJo ~: Hey love your video, do you wash with water between shampoo's?

Milica Marjanovic: Thank u for video its useful n cheering

Andrea Graham: Really helpful

Heather R: Do you refresh your hair during the week or do your curls not drop much?

Maiken Bjerregaard: So do you prefer the bars or the soap nuts?

Gabby Earnest: You are so gorgeous!!

carol dillon: your hair is so beautiful

Tamara: You’re so beautiful and your hair is stunning

Sarah A: I've been using shampoo bars but I want to try soap nuts. I saw you used to use them a few years ago, do you still use soap nuts sometimes?

okiejen1: Hello, thanks for the video really enjoyed. What do you do to your hair in the mornings after you have slept on it?

Richa Singh: Ik I m late to this video but curly/wavy hair isn't supposed to brush their hair so how do you refresh your hair after that(how do you make your curls defined again)...I also wash once a week but it gets tangled so how to deal with that?

Rogue Plutonia: Would you say that if you're someone who goes to the gym often to wash your hair more than once a week? I'd love to let my hair oils balance themselves by not washing as often who as someone who works out almost every day I would feel disgusted

PMA: Hi do you still use soap nuts? If not, could you tell me any challenges you encountered?

BlueSun: Were com from your accent? Is so beautiful. I want to learn your accent. Beautiful hair and good video. Sorry for my bad english.

simply mariam:

Karen Purtell: I never brush my curly hair dry? I usually spray with water mixed with vegan conditioner!

Humaid Shamsi: Why did u stopped using soapnuts???

Jones: Scrubbing wrong, and brushing hair aaahhhhhhhh
