Hi everybody I'm Victoria, Thurman ha and today on hair Busters, we're gon na do something that you professionals, probably cringed when you saw, but it's all over the internet and that is a flatiron on wet hair and we're gon na say approval or busted. Before we get into using a flat iron on wet hair, let's take a look and examine healthy hair in my hands. I have healthy hair and I have a microscope come on in we're gon na, take a look and see if we can find some healthy cuticle. Okay, I'm gon na move this around, but on all of the strands that you see, you can see beautiful iridescent. You can see the cortex. You can see a healthy cuticle Lane very smooth and flat onto the hair everywhere. I go great condition here, so porosity condition. All phenomenal okay, so if this is healthy and this is wet hair and a flatiron going on it, let's see what happens. Listen to that sizzle, I wonder what its gon na look like underneath a microscope. I know you're looking forward to seeing underneath a microscope. What happens when you have wet hair and a flat iron, but before we do that, I wanted to show you color treated hair and what can happen with the color prior to looking at the microscope. I'Ve wet a small section and I'm actually gon na flat iron. It, but I want to talk a little bit about the reasons why people think it's okay to do it. They think it might be a time-saver. The hair is flattened and dried all in one shot. Well, when we keep going through this, you can already see there's a dramatic color change as I'm running my flat iron through so as I'm going through it. Is it really saving me time if my colors going? Oh there's a nice spot if the color is going down the drain or out in the air and the quality of the hair will see underneath the microscope. But it's not a time, save guys to have flat hair and damaged hair. It'S time to look underneath the microscope to see what we've got all right. So what I'm gon na show you right now is part of a cortex cell that has come out of the hair itself. As you know, the cuticles job is to protect. What'S on the inside, it can't very well do that if the cortex is now hanging out outside of the cuticle, I just found a beautiful singed area where the cuticle is puffed up, and not only is it puffed up and singed, but the cortex cell is popped Right out of the hair itself, so instead of the cuticle doing its job and protecting the cortex, the cortex is on the outside and the cuticles on the inside. Oh, this is not good, and we know this. One is busted guys, I'm not even gon na go into it. We know we saw the damage, it's not even worth know doing it onto hair, and I have to tell you the entire room that is around me right now. There'S six other people in the room. We'Re all holding our noses and gagging, because the smell is absolutely horrific. I know you know what the smell is. So, just imagine that's what we're all dealing with and we only did it a few times your customers are doing at home a lot of times, so that was just one image that you're the images that you were seeing. That was just one time of wet and a flatiron. So how can you help your clients with preventing it blow dry? The hair first take and use heat protection, make sure that they're using a good flat iron guys ghd's science is amazing for help and protect color. As well as the integrity of the hair, if they want flat, if they want straight, why not guide them to a perfect tool so for me guys make sure that they're using the right tools and you're using the right tools, you

jenwill051: I’m curious, have you tried this experiment on stem irons as well? I learnt the hard way many years ago when Remington wet/dry came out. It seemed awesome in the beginning but I had split ends everywhere after a while despite routine conditioning treatments. Thanks loved the video

Cindy Orduño: I agree this can damage hair but she should have compared the before and after straightening dry hair versus the before and after straightening wet hair to see the difference. But the worst part was how long she kept the iron on the hair. Leaving it on the hair for that long is damaging even if your hair is dry.

doingthelist: Why didn't she do the pre-test on the hair that she straightened?? How do we know that hair wasn't damaged already?

T J: I almost died when I saw Remington selling a wet to dry straightener…. I feel so sorry for all the people that will buy and use that product… please please please do not iron wet hair

Xavier Mora: Thank goodness I googled this before doing my first hair straightener

Candice Young: The hair doesn't dry with one pass of the straightener with wet hair. It air dried halfway. There is no smell if your hair and your tools are CLEAN. I dry my extremely curly hair straight almost every day and only use a heat protectant. Funny enough you also didn't exam the the hair you treated under a microscope first but I'm sure that was intentional along with not showing the condition of the hair you straightened before you wet it.

Regina Novy: If we apply the normal standards of experiments, the variables here are all over the place. First you show healthy hair, fine that's a baseline. Then you showed color treated, but only after the wet heat styling-- things get weird here. Why not show the colored hair's condition dry before testing? What was the purpose of even doing the mannequin if we don't get a before/after on it as well? This was flawed all around and absolutely did not convincingly answer the question most of us had in the first place.

The Shark: What if you do it on a lower heat setting?

Cristina: why did my hairstylist do this to me it wasnt super wet but still wtf. And no heat protection either

Cloudify: so I was straightening my hair when I got distracted for a half hour. and I didn't know it automatically turns off itself but when I tried to use it again it was not very hot so I turned it off and on again but it went up very slowly but kept staying at 031 degrees? what do I do? is it broken?

Melissa Renee: whose tried the wet to dry straightener I think it’s Remington

Hanis Mastura: Blow hair dry first then flat it.

(゜o゜;: Thanks for saving me❤️

* Honey Cubes*: Me omg thank goodnes that i saw this vid i would have done that and it could have been bad, thank you!❤

The Princess Heroine: Heat protection spray is mostly water though

Scott Keith: Unless she cut that swatch off a human herself, it is already damaged. All human hair weft you buy has had its cuticle removed and then bleached and colored for consistency.

Marcials Blends Hair: EXCELLENT VIDEO

Bella Marie: Wow super interesting! I learned a lot. Btw small youtuber

Arar Almaray: How do u treat it then? I did it because i dont know that it will happen do i shave it and gtow it back healthy again what do i do im freaking out!!!!!

EBeth Masias-Penn: Please tell me where i can get that attachment for my phone?!?!

Manisha Saini: Thanks dear

jenwill051: I meant steam irons

Call me ur babe Ok: to late done it to many times.

KURSAH DFA: God is coming back soon pls all repent

Hina Khan: She needs food
