Viewer Question: How do you keep Bonnets on at Night especially for younger kids? Wearing a satin bonnet is a good natural hair night routine. It helps moisture last longer; keeps hair moisturized, helps in hair growth by improving length retention. There are different things you can do to ensure that bonnet stays on all night long. Also, if you have difficulty, making this happen, I also share some times as to what you can do.

Hi everyone welcome to discovering natural today, I'm in little sis room and I'm answering one of your questions that was posted under this video that just popped up right there, and that is where I'm asking you guys to post your questions and to post them. If you want to get featured so today's question comes from a young lady and she has a three year old daughter and a name is happy face. That'S the name of the person in the scent of message. So this is a question. It says my daughter, my three-year-old, won't keep us carbonate on at night. I don't think a silk pillowcase would work either due to our not sleeping in the same spot. All night was it hard for you to get your girls when they were younger to keep a scuff on their head, and what else should I try? Is there specific hairstyle? I should be doing on our hair that a hair is nice and healthy now, but I believe it could do better if I can get her to protect her hair at night. I just started within the last five months of taking better care of our hair, so she's not used to wearing a scarf, and neither am i I understand how important it is, but she doesn't want what should I do to correct it? So thank you happy face for contacting me and even the cool thing is. I actually did a one-and-one talk with happy face and she's a lovely lady. Her daughter is absolutely gorgeous and her hair is absolutely amazing. So I did a face book. As I told you in the last video when I asked you to ask your questions, I did a face book. I said that you could contact me on facebook and send me questions and we can actually talk one-on-one, so that was kind of so cool to do it. So this is little sis rule. If you want to see more of a room, she did a room tour on our other. Try, no D in vlogs life, so you guys can just click that button up there. The car and you can see little sis show you our room. I show you more of the room, so I'm sitting on a comfy bed, a bed is so comfortable. She has the best lighting, I'm using daylight. I shared all this lovely killed things on our wall. So let's talk about this. This is a very common question that a lot of models have had, and even in the comment area of the video where I preface post the information she also had other people like lana kane, also said the same thing, and even she also get some suggestions. But she also said the same thing, even though she has a boy so which is amazing to know so when my girls were little, we weren't so into natural hair. So this left on cotton, cotton, pillowcase didn't water, a hair. Without anything you know, and then here was dry dry, dry, dry, dry dry and now after we have been natural, what I did from day, one was buy them a bonnet, and I know that you say your daughter doesn't keep the bonnet on, but they're different kind Of bonnets out there, the first bonnet that we went to get was the common one you can get at Walmart, and this is the common one. You know the circ, it's only one layer and the satin bonnet, and it's the common one, and it has this headband thing, and this had been after a while. It was slack, and so you can probably discover the lid on it gets one out, and this is actually an old one. So you can see it's actually ripped and the girls. Sometimes they wear this, and I find that this doesn't old in the moisture the best, because it's very thin, and so what else are we done? We also have this scarf. Some people, of course, scoffs scoffs fall off and I think Naturals. We have this several sense when middle of the night, when your scalp was up you wake up, are you reaiiy? Just it's just Noble. I do that all the time, but one thing that you can try with your daughter is: you can also a bonnet that as drawstring, so the Saudis Barnett's with drawstrings. So this is one similar to that other certain want to get are used to it and the reason why I says that off with a lighter bonnet thing is because she's quite young and um, you want her to get comfortable with lighter Burnett versus chunkier brunettes. So as she gets better at keeping the bonnet on her head, you can transition up to heavier Barnett's, meaning double lined bonnet. So this is a drawstring Burnett. Some other people - and I, including I still use, do racks on a card on occasion. So this is a do-rag. You can see it's just a scarf like this and it's a string now the strings are good because you want to put it on the child's hair. You can wrap it around and tighten it make sure the way you wear things like this and things with draw strings, and even this one right here make sure that you are putting it on like right here and not on the edges, because we do not want To lose our edges, okay, so those are the common bonnets and the common hair stuff that you can use now. Another thing is that you can also get a thicker Barnet, and this is a well-structured Burnett. You can see it's a double layered Burnett and this one was from natural hair shop. I think - and it's very multi-purpose one thing is also that for children, children like to add responsibilities. So in my case and let my children go online and purchase this and pick what they wanted. So that's one thing you can try this if it will work. I said I also pillowcases, but you say that she'll rolls around at night and that is so similar to little says she rolls around at night, but a satin pillowcase is also beneficial and you can use that too. Another three trick that you could do just from. If your child is someone that doesn't want to put the Barnett, they don't want to put on the rope, Barnett's or do-rag, they don't want to put on the scarf or anything, and you still get the satin pillowcase, even if she's rolling around get it started. Pillowcase now, what you do is this at night before she goes to bed, sets her hair moisturizer and put in some form of moisture in her hair, because at least that one will hold on for about eight hours if she's sleeping eight to ten hours. So just try to put some moisture in our air focus on the ends, focus on the woods and also just make sure I hear is well moisturize that will hold up. You might have to increase the amount of time you moisturize the hair because, of course it is losing moisture. You might want to try that some people also find bed ends that have sat in bed shits. So you can try using such in bed instead of cutting bed sheets, so I do hope this helps you out. If you have any questions, comment down below or you let me know, please comment down below if you have any other suggestions for ugly face and thank you so much and we do appreciate you guys thank you for watching. I will see you in the next video bye

Curls of Innocence Hair, Health, & Homeschooling: This happens a lot with my 4 year old. She's all over the place and her hair dries super quickly. I need one of those drawstring bonnets for her because I haven't found one yet! lol

kendra sawyer: This helped me out tremendously!! Now that I know that I have been buying the wrong bonnets and you have shown me was to keep them on. Love your channel!

princessky: Yay!I needed this!Im 12 and i just got my hair braided and i need this

MyNaturalMyChoice: Great tips for night time hair bonnets

Cara Care: Wow look how long I've been following you. You are one of the first channels I started watching when I discovered YouTube thanks again for answering my question

Cara Care: THANKYOU DISCOVERINGNATURAL FOR FEATUINGE MY QUESTION IN YOUR VIDEO THIS EVENING. I FEEL SO SPECIAL AND IT JUST COMFRIM THAT YOU ARE MY #1 YOUTUBER. YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT AND ALL YOU VIDEOS ARE SINCERE AND I CAN TELL YOU ARE PASSINATE ABOUT WHAT YOU DO. I AM GOING TO TRY A LIGHTER BONNET AND IM GOING TO SEE IF I CAN FIND A "DOC MCSTUFFIN" BONNET MY LITTLE GIRLS FAVORITE CHARATER. IF I DONT FIND THAT ONE I WILL LET HER PICK ONE OUT ON HER OWN. SHE IS VERY PERSISTENT ON WHAT SHE LIKE. IF THEY DONT WORK IM GOING TO LOOK INTO THE PRICE OF A SATIN SHEET SET FOR A TODDLE BED. I WILL MOISTURIZE HER HAIR EVERYNIGHT. ONCE AGAIN THANKYOU FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION. O YEAH THANK FOR THE LINK WITH PREVIOUS ANWSER QUESTIO. I WILL CHECK THAT VIDEO OUT BEFORE I ASK ANOTHER QUESTION. I BEEN CATCHING UP ON YOUR PREVIOUS VIDEOS DO TO ME JUST DISCOVERING YOU A FEW MONTHS AGO.

It's Wednesday, Screw Ironing: Start with a cloth stretchy headband covered in satin. That will protect edes w/o getting too warm. After a couple weeks you can swap in the bonnet with less resistance.

Y7L: I’m trying to train my 18 mos old to wear her bonnet but she takes it off when I’m not looking I hate how dry my baby hair gets

Janine Toliver: thank you so much!my daughters hair is so dry. 1 year old. im gonna try this

Jeline Gulley: Ok, this may be a crazy question, but are those do-rag type things truly satin? I've looked at some of the materials & they are more of a lycra or cotton blend sometime. I thought the whole point was to use actual satin or silk when sleeping

MyNaturalMyChoice: Great suggestions

Jrad Pro: What about putting a stocking cap over the bonnet? That usually holds but it's not 100%. I also let her sleep on a silk satin pillow case for back up.

ThisIsGugu: Hey sis. I have a suggestion for her and I think it might work because it works for me. I put those black scarves on her. I will explain them as best I can because I don't know the proper name for them. They are the ones men wear for waves and they were a big fashion statement in the 90s. I have some from Walmart and the hair store but I bought one from the Dollar Tree and it stays on the best. I'm not a great explainer but I will try and hope I make sense. It's all in the technique though. When u put the scarf on, put it right above the eyebrows. Tie it all the way around, and once it's secure, pull the scarf from above the eyebrows back a bit to where ur baby is comfortable but make sure the scarf is a little below the hairline. My baby has 3c slippery hair and I finally figured it out. And depending how I'm styling her hair if I put those styling papers on it that will stop the scarf from falling off too. What I said works for us 98% of the time. Hope this helps!

Genell Oliver: Good evening, can you do a video of how you did your hair in this video. It looks amazing.

253200sc: Nothing helps my 1 year old. I use a standard light bonnet on hot nights and a tie on head wrap on other nights and if not immediately, she wakes up in the middle of the night and pulls it off...ugh...and she need it because she has a lot of hair and can get bushy if not covered. I’m not redoing her hair every week (it takes about 4-5 hours to style it). Some nights she’s good and doesn’t mess up her hair but I wish she’d just keep it on...

Johanna: Hair looks great. Do you have a tutorial on your method for this hairstyle?

Purple Dove: 7th sense with the scraf falling off is so true!!!

Ley Lina: very good info makes sense why my hair isn't growing the way it should.

Mommy 42: My baby sleep like she is in the middle a fist fight. The bonnet falls off no matter what. I have no other choice but to invest on satin pillowcases AND bed sheets.

Jorvy Batista: thanks for the help!

Kai Akimana: can u make a video about: how do you keep your crochet braids in for as long as possible I just got mine done

Mazda87: This is the problem i am facing with my three year old and without scarf or bonnet her hair is dry by morning.

peggy acosta: she let's me do all these great protactive styles and don't have to fight with her when it comes time to styling, and she tells me to put the hair bonnet on,her hair is growing healthy she has 4 type hair as well

Tahkesha T James: I'm loving your hair. Is there a video for that style?

Oge Ubabuike: Have learnt a lot from you babe

BLISS: great tips....

Trice Tyme: Thank you!!

Jocelynn: For the poke a dot bonnet do they have a website where I can but one because I dont have a natural hair store where I'm at

peggy acosta: I tell my daughter if u don't want to maintain good natural hair and don't want to do things to keep you're hair growing healthy and strong then I guess we're just going to shave u bold lol not that I would do that but u knw what it worked

Siann King: learn a lot here. thnx

Esther's Word: i agree about the common sense in the middle of the night that it fell off 4:20

Kheila Kennedy: her room is beautiful

Bridget Elliott: The bonnets that I use has rubbed her edges off in the back..

Agnieszka Adams: How do I keep it on a 2 year old toddler? She has a pillow in her crib but won't use it, she is all over her bed all night and nap time too. I bought her a light weight sleep cap, she will put it on but as soon as I leave the room she rips it off and throws it on the floor. Some people say it's because she is not used to it but she does the same with socks! I managed to put it back on her after she fell in sleep last night but at 2am it came off again... I guess I have to invest in satin crib sheets for this diva

Rhonda Jefferson: How about along with your suggestions putting the bonnet on as soon as they get home. So the baby won't even think about taking it off st bedtime. Because she probably associate the bonnet with bedtime. Ijs

Nicole Sandy-Stevenson: my daughter us the same way but she is 23 months and i use a wig cap then her bonette....is that ok Discovering Naturals?

life with crystal: I have 4 girls I am tired for doing thay every day

grays have more fun: your hair is so beautiful what u do to it. need some ideas
