Hello, everyone welcome back to soul, media um. I know it's been a little while. Okay, since I uploaded on this channel, I left for a bit and I came back and I saw that Finn. Tbd video is doing some numbers okay, so I'm like okay, all right. It'S given me a bit of motivation to come back on this channel and start posting more often, my goal when I first started this channel was to give more marketing and motivational tips. That'S what I'm gon na do today. We'Re gon na kick start this channel by talking about my first online business and this business. I still I still have, but I'm doing a new relaunch of my website and that's coming really soon. So that's another reason why I want to start this channel, because I really want you to come on this journey with me. I don't know who's gon na be watching. I don't even care if it's just two people, but I'm gon na be posting on this channel. As often as I possibly can possibly every day, you're not always going to see me damage like this you're, not always gon na see me, you know, looking cute you're gon na see me doing some rough periods in my life and that's always what happens when you Grow we start in growth business and I want to show you guys that entire process, I'm just super, excited to start this journey. You know so anyway, we're gon na talk about how I made $ 10,000 plus in my first business and my first business was a hair extension, slash, wig business. Okay, I noticed when I first started my business in 2018. There were not a lot of YouTube videos on me on YouTube for me to watch, and recently I've been seeing some videos pop up on my knees, I even recommended with people starting their hair businesses and giving people tips, and that just gives me so much inspiration To really start posting on this channel, so I'm gon na tell you guys about my first business and I made $ 10,000 and at the time I, as you guys know, I don't know if you guys know this, but I am a youtuber. I have about 6,000. I have about six thousand YouTube subscribers. A lot of people think that's a lot. I think that's a good amount, I'm excited to see it grow, but yeah I'm gon na need to for about two three years now. Actually three years and yeah, I'm only at 6,000. Subscribers, so that's why I feel a little bit. You know doubt, but that's fine, that's life. You know - and I maybe that'll give you guys some in a motivation for you guys to start your own channel, hopefully in the future, and this will, you know, show you guys that you don't need thousands of subscribers to make thousands of dollars. You know I just want to give you like a little back story at the time. Ie to channel only had about 4,000 ish subscribers, it could have been around 2000 subscribers. I don't really remember. This was like this was two years ago so like when I first launched and at the time I was just posting hair reviews. I would you know, buy her from you, the I would buy hair from the B supply store and I would just review videos on YouTube and I was so clueless back. Then you know, I didn't know about affiliate marketing, so I was just buying hair from the B supply store and not getting the hair that I can actually get him affiliate, link for and make that money. So learned later that I can utilize affiliate marketing and I started doing that, but um that was after actually started my my first business. So that was the way that I thought that I can make money from my channel and I still believe that it is we're. Gon na get into how I made this, it doesn't always, I know we're gon na get there. So the first thing that I want to say that helped me a lot was leveraging my audience. My first video that I published usually why bigges get around 100 issues in the first like couple days and then in the first month, it'll get like around a thousand issues, but sometimes some videos, just but sometimes some videos just blow up, and it just so happened That one of videos that I posted blew up kind of on my channel and it was a curly wig - that I drop shipped from a really good supplier, yeah, so published a video of me wearing the one wig and you know, set up my store well before All that I set up my store and Shopify did all the backend work that you need to do made an official business and, like I got packaging custom packaging, so yeah. I was really like. You know wanting to make this work and it didn't work, because when I published the video it got around a thousand views in like the first month. I sorry in the first couple weeks and eventually started doing like numbers. You know - and I think now it's at around, like 15,000 views or or somewhere along those lines - and you know that's not very typical, for you know video of mine to do that. But it did that. So I ended up selling a bunch of those wigs and a lot of people really liked them actually just styled it. On my friend the other day she really loved it and but yeah i dont, sell it anymore, but um yeah. I really loved that way. Again. That'S the first wig that made me a decent amount of money. I made like a thousand or soared I'm a little about two thousand dollars that month from just promoting that one wig and so um. I started doing that more often and that's pretty much how I did I just leveraged my audience on my youtube channel and obviously, if you don't have an audience, you need to try and grow your audience as quickly as you can. If you are starting a hair business, a lot of people like to do it on Instagram, because it's the fastest and easiest way to do it, and you still get really really good customers on there. Like not good customers, we still get a lot of customers on Instagram. You don't have to necessarily start a YouTube channel, but I had also that really helped me okay. So the second thing that I leveraged and utilized to get that amount money was eye drop shipped and I had some inventory because I live in Canada. I had some inventory for people who wanted to get it like much faster, so yeah it wasn't much. It was like ten art goes around ten or twenty wigs leverage drop shipping that it's just such an amazing concept. If you don't have a lot of money, I would highly recommend start with drop shipping, because you don't need to buy a bunch of inventory that you don't know you're gon na sell. You know with drop shipping, it's just marketing literally, that's it! That'S all! You have to focus on and it's amazing my supplier also was more than willing to help me with drop shipping, to change my logos and and put my lets. You put my logo on there and I gave her like business cards to put in and custom packaging to do so it oh, it was still all very affordable because I was still like sending her the items and she was like giving me. You know good deals and stuff for packaging, so anyway, yes yeah, I did send her the business cards because I wanted them done very specifically and someone here trono. Did it really? Well? So that's besides the point. I have honestly guys utilize drop shipping and my supplier starting my own business again, and I will be doing the exact same thing as before, but eventually I will start to get more inventory because I want a physical location here in Toronto. Eventually, but yeah, that's what's gon na happen, you know alright. So the next thing is the third thing actually is that utilize social media heavily at the time? I was utilizing an automation platform called Darby. Basically, they they automate a lot of your Instagram engagement. So you can like people's pictures as soon as I post it literally if anyone's following you they'll, like all their pictures. They, like other people's pictures from different hashtag, some different users, and you just set the limit that you want to do per day and they will do it for you, automation. You know, that's amazing, um, I'm not using it. Now. I stopped using it after like a couple months because I really didn't want Instagram to like block my account. I was doing at a very like conservative way, so I it wasn't like alarming to Instagram, but yeah yeah. I had utilized RV. It was it's an amazing tool. I would definitely use it again, but it's around $ 40 a month. So it's a little pricey. I'Ve been shopping around for different automation tools, so I'm currently also trying out con bang. I want to check out. I wanted to see how that works out. For me, my goal for Instagram this year is to post literally every everyday like four times a day every single day. So that's my goal. I started a Facebook group as well for anyone who is interested in the wigs and wearing wigs, and it doesn't have that many people in the group right now. I just started it this year, so there's only about 14 people in it right now, but I'm looking to grow that but yeah before when I did it before. I utilize my facebook page, my Instagram page and my youtube channel and those were the social medias that I I used. I would highly recommend that you use social media to or your business or you can do it like locally. If you really want it to you, but if you don't have much money and you were looking to start your business and maybe do the same, my money, you could probably do with 4,000 Instagram flowers. You know like that's really what you can do it. I only have about I'm almost to about 1,500 Instagram followers and so yeah. That'S not a lot of followers at all. I think I had around like 600 followers at the time. Actually so yeah, that's number three and the fourth thing that I number four I worked on my mindset. You know that's something. That'S so important! You guys like, if you don't, have the motivation to post every day to film content every day to not watch a lot of YouTube videos or not. Watch Netflix shows and movies on a regular basis like there's so much you're gon na have to do, and a strong mindset is just so important. Like my mind side, my mindset back then was like, like wan na go from 1 to 10. It was probably at like a six now. My mindset is that a 10 okay - I am serious this year, I'm not joking around I'm not playing around, and neither should you okay, so mindset is key. I read or listen because I listened to audio books on audible, not sponsored. I do listen to audio books all the time I watch motivational and motivational and inspirational videos on YouTube all the time. I love rex worships riches sarees. I love people talking about how or people who were interviewed regarding their success in their business. That kind of stuff feels my mindset. It feels my motivation feels my drive to want to complete certain tasks in my business, and it gives me different ideas to do and it gets me really excited. So mindset is key. I would highly recommend watching YouTube videos listening to audiobooks and yeah. Listening to you podcast those open on podcast love podcast. This is definitely like number one. To be honest, like number one for sure my mindset hindered me from I feel like in the beginning, like I hindered myself from reaching new levels, because my mind was just in such a scarcity mentality. You know so this year, I'm all about abundance, I'm all about wealth and knowledge, and you know my bank account and pretty much everything in that department. Abundance is key and number five is advertising. I didn't spend that much money on advertising. I'Ll be honest, I would say like humilated li, maybe around $ 900 on advertising, and I some people that might seem like a lot to me. That'S nothing in a year and I only really utilize it for retargeting purposes and during Black Friday. So yeah. Those were the only times that utilized it, but for Black Friday it was amazing. How do you recommend learning about how to do Facebook and Instagram ads if you are not sure how to do it? I can definitely film a video for you guys about how you can install your Facebook pixel to your website and all that good stuff. So yeah, let me know if you guys want to see that video, but yeah advertising will definitely help me this year. I have a special plan in place to utilize YouTube ads this time and I really want to film that process. You guys will see all of that and yeah I'm excited for what 2020 has in store for this channel. I'M really I don't know, I don't know what you guys want to see. Let me know in the comment section if you guys want to know when I upload new business and motivational content on YouTube, hit that subscribe button and hit that notification belt as well. I will be uploading on this channel as frequently as possible. I know it says Monday Wednesday, Friday on my banner I'll, try to stick to that schedule. I will see you guys in my next video I'm gon na probably either talk about one, how to market your hair, lash lip gloss whatever business, that you have online, how to market that on social media and slash YouTube, and the second one is how to stay. Motivated during difficult times whatever you want to know, if you want to know number one first but number one in the comments, if you want to know the second one first, you want to watch the second video first then put number two in the comments. So if you guys also want to follow my hair channel I'll leave that link to down below as well, it's called solo B.
