And you know they have been leave-in hair, conditioner, leave-in, hair conditioners have been leave-in, hair conditioner in hair hi. Everybody welcome back to my channel so as requested today, I'm gon na do a video showing you guys the proper way to wash hair. I uploaded a vlog a couple of days ago, and I mentioned how most people don't know how to properly wash their hair. So today, I'm gon na show you guys. I have a friend tummy in I'm gon na show you guys how I shampoo hair. It'S basically gon na be the same way. You'Re gon na want to do it at home, except here I'm doing it in a salon. Shampoo full, but I mean it's pretty much gon na be the same thing. You just do it to yourself whether your professional watching this or, if you just want to learn how to properly wash your hair at home. I got you so if you're not already, please take a moment to subscribe to my channel. If you want to see more in salon, hair videos, also, if I'm not here, I'm on Instagram at freaking, gray and other than that, let's get into the video now alright, so first thing you're gon na do is wet all the hair. You can take these tips, whether you're washing your hair at home or whether you're doing it at a salon, pretty much gon na be the same thing, but especially if you're doing it on and so on. You wan na. You want to watch this and pay close attention, because people do not know how to wash hair okay, so you just wet the hair. Keep your keep your head here, so you don't like recall. The clients face cover the ear like that, make sure the hair is really just saturated. So I pretty much wet all the top over here. I'M letting the water drain from the sink, because her hair so long it kind of like just sink a little bit and then we're gon na hold the hose and I'm so you are going to just get your favorite shampoo, I'm using Kevin Murphy's smooth again today. Do you want to lather a little bit in your hands and then I like to do the top sides and then underneath - and first thing you want to do - is get a good lather going, I'm not washing her hair, yet I'm literally just waggery, but some people Just like you know they just like kind of do that with the hair like that is not cleaning a hair really do you do that? What is that honey? Wash your hair yeah, so I'm just creating a lather when you see me doing this to towards her ends, I'm not really like scrubbing them! So, okay! So once you get a good lather going you're gon na, you basically want to shampoo and be aggressive from from wall to wall floor to ceiling. Okay, like so from they hit the hairline here. We'Re gon na go in and work our way back, ha top of her head now we're doing I'm digging in like that with my hands and then we're doing we're basically washing from here to here. This is a crown for and then I'm holding her head down with this hand. So that way, I don't give her a headache from washing aggressively and again like starting at the hairline all the way up to the hairline. You want to start scrubbing at the hairline, because at the hairline is where you know we like have our like makeup or highlight our contour and then just our natural hair oils hair product, all that kind of stuff. You know. Sometimes you can get it around your hairline, which are like super painful for some reason, so you want to make sure you're washing all the way up to the hairline and I'm using as much pressure as possible without and she like, Bridget doesn't have a sensitive scalp. Like this isn't hurting you for anything right, no, she likes it rough, so yeah you want to do it with like. This should feel like a workout for your arms, they kind of like how I'm trying to talk right now, but I'm out of breath. It should be like that, so then I just get the lather pulled her hair up. This is like the nape of her neck again, especially back here. You tend to get zits so start at the hairline. I'M doing a motion like this hairline all the way to the bottom, like every square inch of her scalp needs to be washed, then all I do is just kind of like do this on the ends. I don't do this to like scrub the ends, because you don't really need to do that. Shampoo, like if you look at up close the molecules and shampoo like trap oil and all that kind of stuff, and then you rinse the hair and wash it out. So, with your scrubbing, really the scalp, you don't need to scrub the actual hair unless you're you have something in your hair. That'S why like, if you have like a heavy updo and you have a bunch of the show and stuff in your hair other than that, you don't really need to like agitate the hair that much some rinsing rinsing rinse as much as possible and then we're gon Na do a second shampoo, so I do two shampoos because, like I always do two shampoos, I think, because it's kind of like washing your face after a long day of wearing makeup, you wouldn't just wash your face once great or I would hope that so you'd Wash your face twice or you would remove your makeup first and then wash your face or something so hair is the same way that first wash is just an initial wash. The second wash you're, really gon na go ham by the way I'm using the pads of my fingers, I'm using the whole pad of my finger like for my fingertips, all the way down, I'm not using my nails at all. You don't want to use nails when you're, when you're washing hair, because then you can create abrasions on the scalp, be careful like around this area. This is like a really scary area to shampoo if you're gon na do it correctly, because you want to point your fingers going that way. Do you know they mean, like quite um, going that way. So that way, you don't accidentally poke the client in the eye and then also so you don't scratch their ear. Also around the ear like this, you want to be careful not to scratch their ear. If you have any kind of nails, if you're shampooing at Ana salon, by the way you want to make sure the client just lays there don't tell them like if they try to lift your head up, tell them like don't lift your head up some clients like Try to lift their head up so that way they feel like they're, helping you, which is nice and all but they're, actually making your job a little bit harder, and on top of that, they're gon na get themselves wet so make sure they just lay there, because The weight of their head prevents the water from going down their back like going between the scenes in there, as you see my hand, is following the water wherever it goes, and that way she doesn't. I don't wet her. Thank you for anything like that. Okay, so before I sink dish in, I always like to just like wipe the hairline a little bit just because you know sometimes with conditioner. You might like comb it through. They might sit there for a little bit and it's kind of uncomfortable to sit or lay there with like water in your ears. I don't know I personally don't like that feeling so and I just lightly towel dry. Is that way the conditioner could like penetrate, really deeply all right. So again, I'm using Kevin Murphy, hydrate me rinse, so good. So then with conditioner, you just put it on the ends on the ends of the hair. There'S no need to put conditioner on a scallop. In fact, if you do that, I mean you're, basically, just your shampoos just not gon na last as long, so I'm not putting it like deep in her scalp, I'm just kind of getting these like little baby hairs and everything like that, but mostly focusing on the Ends and then, but you can get a wide toothed comb like this one and then start from the bottom and then just detangle. The hair - and this is gon na help, distribute the conditioner and make sure it gets all of the hair over here, and also you guys like make sure I seem like other people. Do this like make sure like hold the ponytail and work from the bottom, because sometimes, like you know, you can like pull your clients hair, especially like Bridget's hair is healthy, but sometimes you know people have damaged hair or like bleach hair. It can get like extra matted, especially blondes, their hair. It gets really really knotted. You want to make sure you're, not traumatizing your client and then also breaking their hair and then getting like hair like this is normal yeah, it's normal shedding. I mean you all know. If it's like major you just winced, also, if you're gon na do a deep conditioning treatment, then you want a shampoo shampoo, a deep conditioned then conditions all right, then why don't you just I'll? Try around the hair, my ears? First, that's how you know you did a good shampoo when your client falls asleep or almost fall asleep yeah. You want to make sure you get as much moisture out of the hair as possible, but don't like do this to the hair. Oh my gosh! That'S so damaging just squeeze it squeeze it squeeze it and then, if you're in a salon you want to twist and clip the hair clip the hair up. She might need two clips here. You don't want to send your client going back to the chair with your hair and dripping down their back. That'S just like Frankie and then that's it alright. So that is it for this video. If you have any requests any questions comments concerns then leave it in the comments down below. Also, please again, take a moment to subscribe, hits little bell symbol. Um so anyway, that's it for this video. I hope you guys enjoyed it hope it was informative and then I will see you guys in the comments and then you guys will see me. Am i next. Thank you so much for watching bye,

Grace Williams: getting my hair shampooed in the salon is probably one of the best feelings ever

AnneNoyes: Now i understand why my hair lasts longer when i come out of a salon compared to washing it at home.

Inês Marques: About the double shampooing, my mom (she used to be a hairdresser) always says, if it doesn’t make a lot of foam, it’s not clean. And you can see her hair made a lot more on the second time. I always look for that to decide if one is enough

bluemonster666: OMG THANK YOU!! I was told from a young age to massage shampoo gently into the scalp and wash it out, if you did it too hard it will cause damage. As my hair has got longer I have been getting loads of white flakes in my hair and no matter what I did, it never get rid of it. Washed my hair yesterday and gave my scalp a good scrub and my dandruff is so much better already!! My hair feel so soft and nice too!

Karen Marquez: I want to thank you so much for this. I’ve been depressed for a while now and my hair had seen a bad part of it all. I knew I was washing it wrong but I’d try and try and it wouldn’t get better. I was extremely discouraged. I followed all the steps to this video and my hair hasn’t felt like this in such a long time. Thank you.

batiyland: Wow, I think you saved my hair with this tip! I was losing handfuls of hair after shower and brushing, and now, a month later, I'm losing just a few hairs here and there. Thank you so much, Brittney, you're amazing! <3

Sam Madlin: I never wash my hair twice and never wash that rough and vigorouly, but your video gave me the urge to wash my hair and try it My hair is waaay softer and feels way cleaner. Thank you. Lol I've always massaged it into my scalp, but ive never really gotten in there like that. I know other commenters are saying this way wouldn't work for them, but I think this is what my hair needed. Kinda sad I havent been washing my hair correctly after all these years ‍♀️

Naomi Nunez: I’m so glad that you wash your client’s hair twice. So many hairdressers just do a quick wash and I have hair that actually needs two washes. Wish there were more like you who would take the time to do that and not be in such a rush or lazy.

Paige: Comparing shampooing twice to taking off your makeup THEN washing your face is sooo helpful. I need to start adding this into my routine asap!

RyMingTahn: Now I have the urge to wash my hair even though i just washed it ☀️

lookingatdaisies: I've started the vigorous washing because of this video, and it has been very effective at removing flakes. Sometimes the antifungal shampoo for Seborrheic dermatitis has worked but the overly gentle motions I formerly used were not getting the existing flakes off.

Bridgette Knox: This video needs to be shown at every cosmetology school. They didn't teach it as good as you. ❤

thefireprincess: Bless your heart. I was washing my hair wrong this whole time, I tried your way this morning and my hair feels amazing. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways!

Vegan Cookies: People always think I'm crazy when I say I wash my hair twice but I knew I was doing it right now I know

Brianna Nickz: The one time my hair got burned off at a salon and I lost half of my hair, the owner washed my hair and RIPPED through my hair I almost cried it hurt so bad and when I saw the amount of hair in the brush I almost cried and I said nothing I wish I did. So thanks for this vid!! More people need to see it!

Peyton W.: THIS is why I LOVE this channel! Because Brittney tells people what they NEED to hear, not just what they WANT to hear. It's true that SO many people don't adequately wash their hair, & then they roughen up the hair shaft when they violently rub their ends (the most damaged & fragile hairs) between their hands. Also, they leave shampoo in their hair. NVMND, I don't need to rant about incorrect rinsing...but my prayers go out to anyone without enough water pressure to rinse thoroughly!!

House of Liz: Thanks so much, Brit! I needed this lesson! More in-salon hair vids please—I love them! Great job!

sarah: this video is 2 years old, but I'm just here to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! I never knew how to do my hair for the longest time, and I always used to get white dots/flakes in my hair pretty regularly, with my hair also feeling pretty straw-y. after I watched this video, I felt I needed to try it out, and voila! my hair is very soft now :')

Noah Melody and Willis’s play house: This was wonderful!! Relaxing too lolASMR vibes . I’m mad no one teaches us this

B Haney: A true queen for posting this I’ve washed my hair twice since the first time I watched this and it looks sooo good. Thank you!!

Melissa Pellegrin: This video was great! I can see so many things I do wrong, so this will help me do better at shampooing and conditioning my hair in the shower. Thanks, Brittany!!!

Pressed Pretty Salon: Excellent! All of my clients like an aggressive shampoo. Thanks for the reminder to focus on the hairline, crown & nape!

Jocelyn H: This seems awesome for really getting in there and cleansing the hair, but my problem is postpartum hair loss. I worry about being too rough, especially around the edges, and losing more than I already am.

itayemee: Not even a hairdresser but still useful to know for at home care! Love your videos

kupwtp: Thanks for the tips Britney. I'm starting off as a salon assistant and we work with Kevin Murphy products, so the steps you are showing me makes it easier for me to wash the hair correctly, from the uk

Jamie Jared: having my hair washed at the salon is the best thing in the worlddddd, it feels amazing

Marlee 82: Love your channel Brittney! You are so informative and entertaining! I've been in the beauty industry 37 years as a nail tech but Love hair tutorials lol .. anyways my pet peeve is the crappy shampoos most stylists give drives me nuts! Yours is the best I've seen in all my years in a salon

celrenity: Thanks for the video! Even though I try my best to massage my scalp thoroughly I felt like I’ve been too slow and gentle. So this helps a lot

Reneé: I love informative videos from experts so I can learn to keep my hair in peak condition. Today is my ‘coconut oil mask day’ so I’ll have to do a deep cleanse shampoo afterwards. Thank you for this video Brittney.

Ash B: I love getting my hair washed so much that just watching this was relaxing.

Yopdv: This was a life - changing tip for me. Thank you so much ❤️

Coco Pops: Im here after coming out of the shower and sick of my hair being flakey, tangly and pimples on the hairline. Now I know how to do it! Thank you so much!

Maryam: I'm gonna wash my hair right now! My hair has never been in a good condition for nearly 6 years. Hope this tip will help me a lot. Thank you so much! New subscriber here ‍♀️

Tiffany Jones: Thank you so much for showing how to properly shampoo hair and apply conditioner! This is the way I was taught in school and I see so many stylist doing it the incorrect way. Thank you

Jasmin Miah: I’ve been doing these techniques and it honestly works ! Less pressure on scalp and I’ve noticed less hair falls out in the shower

Sarah S: Oh my goodness Brittney, I’m doing it right! One thing I’m doing right at least! My hair is almost to my waist and I wash it twice a week just like this ( but obviously in the shower).

Best Friend In Your Thread: Girl. This helped me so much because I'm still in school and I found so many helpful little tips to make the experience better for my clients.

Cheryl Tyler: I really like your teaching style. I’m trying to teach my daughter how to wash her own hair. This was helpful.

Ashton Heinrich: This was so interesting to watch! I've never had a hair stylist wash my hair this thoroughly!

Smile to Life: Thanks ❣️ You are a great teacher for hair wash. I am definitely watch the rest of your videos. Many blessings to you! ✨

paigeo: I needed this! You know, I've gathered tips and tricks over the years but I still question if I'm doing what's best for my hair or if I could be doing something better. Thanks, Brittney!

cazador1N: I would be so relaxed and confident if this lady was washing my hair

jocsalyn: The salon looks amazing! You guys did a great job

Incredibly Lucid: Came here to say - Got my hair cut by you/her and it looks fantastic. 3 months later and it has grown out beautifully. If there are any DIY mask remedies that you are on board with (coconut oil, egg, flax), would really like to know :). Also, I am curious if you have worked with anyone who has trichotillomania, or how feel on someone with a condition coming in (should they let you know, recommendations, etc). Keep killing the game boss lady!

Sandy Cheeks: Brittney! I watched this video last night and washed my hair the way you showed us this morning..... and holy shit. Thank you for this video my life will never be the same

Sarita Faison: Hello thanks for the video. I am not a hair professional but I have two little girls. I'm actually about to wash the six year old's hair today. This is very helpful for me.

Rachel Rose: I was always afraid to wash my hair twice unless I had heavy product in it, but now I KNOW honey. Life changing!

Matt's What I am: This helped a lot! I had my first experience washing hair at Barber school today, the persons hair was almost exactly like your friends hair. Being a guy, it was the most intimating thing, I had no idea what I was doing..... Thank you!!! :)

Lauren’s Channel: Keep the salon videos coming. I love them!

Jennifer Marbley: I want to see a deep conditioning video!

Anthony Apelu: 1st wash to remove dirt and build up. 2nd wash and conditioner to treat hair and scalp. And only once or twice a week. :)

Alexis Rains: I really needed this! My mom has been a hair dresser for 40 years and I’ve grown up around hair and I go to Paul Mitchell and work as a shampoo girl at my moms salon but for some reason I have the HARDEST time shampooing and I don’t know why

Possum friend: Omg no wonder your biceps are popping! Now my hair feels filthy even though I just washed it.

Yada paper squishes and Roblox: All my life my hair looked horrible! I tried and tried to find out how to wash my hair properly and finally! This one works.

Truth Prevail: Wow! I love your technique. ❤️ We want more hairstylists on YouTube.

No more Pomegranates: I’ve spent hundreds at each salon visit and have never had my hair washed like this I’ll be doing this myself next time I wash my hair

Yasmin: Looks so so so so relaxing. I wondered why my salon fresh hair lasts so much longer before needing to be rewashed

Anna Todorova: Hi Brittney! Nice video, it was very interesting to watch! Thanks for educating us ❤️

LaLa Smith: I love getting my hair washed at the hair dressers. Love it.

kerry wood: Also so glad you said about combing from the ends ive always done this and it’s so much better than the stylists who insist on starting at the root with there bloody cutting comb. Xx

Lessette Eaglechild: That totally looks like it feels amazing lol. I LOVE having my hair washed with a good scrub ♡

Lightning Bug: Now I am going to have to do this to my head. That looks like it feels good, kinda like a massage that leaves you sore and yet you feel SO much better.

Bucky Barnes: I'm curious as to how long we should spend rinsing out our hair? Especially after conditioning. My mom always said because conditioner made your hair feel oily, to not spend a lot of time rinsing because you'd rinse out the effect of it. but also just in-general after shampooing. It's always been after mystery to me

Maryann Leonard: Thank you so much, I can pretty much do anything with little to no fear in the salon but for some reason I always am afraid I'll hurt my clients when I go to wash their hair lol go figure!

Christina Williams: Thank you so much for this it was so helpful. I’ve never lathered up my shampoo like that because I’m always thinking that’ll make my hair look oily

Charlie Girl: This was so good to watch to take care of my hair

Riabain: I dyed my hair more than 5 times and bleached it at least 4 times, plus I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, so I take this very seriously. I shampoo twice, use the Redken bond builder once a week, use the Briogeo scalp shampoo once every 2-3 weeks, generally use salon-quality products, and use both oils and serums every morning and night. I do curl my hair regularly (not every day though) so it isn't super healthy looking, but it isn't totally fried either and still feels good. Also, my scalp doesn't itch or flake as horribly anymore. Small hurrahs. :')

Holland Delany: Love your videos! Will definitely use these tips!

gwenn1998: Love! You do an amazing job! It feels so good when you get your hair washed at salon.

Yaz Valentin: I had to teach my husband how to wash his hair. His dandruff was extreme and he was blaming the shampoos for not working. After I showed him how to wash correctly he noticed less flakes

Perfumaphilia: I was upset by the title of this video until I saw that I've actually been doing a pretty good job washing my hair all these years lol. I forget who told me fifteen years ago to only focus the shampoo at the roots and mainly condition the midshaft and ends. One of those fluke pieces of advice that I followed and actually ended up being good. But I have been using my nails to scrub my scalp, and my scalp is super sensitive and easily irritated so I'm going to switch to finger pads. Thank you for your informative content, always! And yes, a video on hair care ingredients and dispelling myths about products would be very interesting! Congratulations on your new salon :)

Ericamar38: You did such a good job! I only got my hair washed so hard, it was horrible.

RetroBarbie: My mama always used to scratch my head with her darned nails. It would hurt so bad! Then she would always get mad and just say I was soft headed.

Renee G: Loved the video! I really want to book an appointment with you to get my hair straightened and cut!

Jasy Caraballo: This looks amazing !!! I can’t really have my hair washed at the salon because as much as I love it Im very ticklish and it’s uncomfortable.. it’s hard to explain.. does anyone else have the problem or am I alone ?

Monique Pennington: I've been a shampoo assistant since 2001 off and on over the years and I shampoo hair similar to this. Every client I have come across no matter the race has said that it was the best shampoo they ever had, whewww that felt sooo good, or some other compliment lol. I honestly haven't got one complaint. I've had people moaning in my chair and that's when I ease up a little bit lol cuz it was very awkward. I do two shampoos as well. First with a cleansing and then a moisturizing shampoo. When I do my condition I give a massage all over the head and neck then I do a slight hair tug on both sides and at the nape. I'm very gentle and they love it. I've had plenty of people fall asleep snoring from my shampoos and wake up blinded by the light when I have to wake them up lol. I had one lady one time after I shampooed her I had to apply a demi color and she legit was knocked out. I didn't want to wake her so I held her head against my chest and applied that bad boy the best I could and put the cap on her and woke her up to sit under the dryer. She was very relaxed and said she needed that. Yessss Brittany get it girl!! That's what I'm talking about!

Micaela Theriot: I’m a licensed cosmetologist but when I shampoo my guests I’ve been having trouble rinsing the neck and around the ears. Do you have any tips and tricks that would help with that? When I was in beauty school, we really never had a proper class on how to shampoo and rinse the clients hair.

Ondrea R: Thank you! Can you do a curly hair routine for us curly girls?! Xoxo

Fashionwork12: I assisted from June 2016- April 2019. I ALWAYS made sure to scrub the clients head (& shampoo twice) especially if they are a weekly blowout and or a chemical service. A good shampoo is the basis for an excellent blowdry service. You really need to get in there and scrub! Nothing is worse then blowdrying a clients hair and smelling a dirty head due to inproper shampoo procedure at the backbar!

sunnysideup: Omg I almost fell asleep watching this. It looks so relaxing

Sabont Magont: Just started hair dressing school. This video was a nice complimentary video Update did this in the shower and it’s crazy how nuch more efficient the wash is!

THiNK103088: my partner asked me yesterday to wash her hair and this was honestly so helpful. She's booked an appointment with me in our bathroom tonight so wish me luck and thanks!

Hugo El Fuego: Exactly the type of video I need to help me through hair & beauty college. Fair play to ya you've been great help I love your content and enjoy all your videos. Fun and educational that da wan all da way from Ireland we love ya all best to you now. Also may I mentioned you've got lovely beautiful arms as well as your hair hope that wasn't too creepy if it T'was sorry

Destinee Lopez: Would you recommend the 2 shampoos and aggressive scrubbing for EVERY wash or maybe like once every other wash like a clarifying??

Juli Grlee: There should be deeper shampoo bowls for ladies with long hair.

Dragana: You’re great!! I wash my hair like this at home always, gotta get that good clean

Jade Harris: Hey Brittney! I love you channel Would you do this same process for thick kinky curly natural hair? I have been struggling with itchy, dry, and flakey scalp a few days after a fresh shampoo. Do you have any tips? ❤❤

CIC Beauty TV: I worked in many hi end salons in ny and also went to beauty school and I can tell you every salon has a different way of doing it even tho I can say I have mastered it in my opinion now it’s not as easy as you think my first time I literally dropped the hose and it sprayed clear across the salon the stylist just looked and said nothing not to alert the clients it’s funny when I think about it now but back than I was so embarrassed 2 tips don’t wet your clients clothes and please whatever you do don’t scold them remember those to things and you will be fine lol

RealBeautiful Beauty: Finally someone that is actually cleansing the hair, usually all I see is the hair wet patted & rinsed.. This is appreciated.. Thanks

Candela Luna: I love this intro! And thank you for such a helpful video

Nerea Luna: Hi! I really enjoyed watching for the firt time one of your videos. I searched a video like this as an ASMR experience. Thank you so much for doing this.

Lex Thomas: I felt inspired to wash my own hair after this

laura: I remember you once said you'd like to make asmr videos and this video gave me some good tingles :) especially the soft crinkling of your apron

MsMichaela999: I liked it to the point when you started combing it. I pretty much do it similarly, but not completely as I have naturally curly hair and so there are additional steps involved. Anyway...Combing, brushing wet hair causes breakage. Once my hair is wet, I don't come close to it with anything else but my fingers.

nye: this came at the perfect time, I was planning on washing my hair today anyway!! lol

MariniSol: This was so relaxing to watch! ❤️

Brianna Lynn: So a shampoo assistant in a pretty busy salon, if I took this long on one shampoo I would be fired. Lol I also think that it may be too rough for most people. But this video was very informative and I think I would show it to the girls that I hired to shampoo.

EricaYE6: Ms. Brittney, what about those silicone brush pad thingies that are for shampooing hair? Do they work pretty good for cleansing the scalp?

Devon: Well, good to know I've been washing my hair wrong for over 30 years yikes lol but honestly thanks for this video, I'll definitely be more aggressive from now on

here4catsandfood: Watched this at 1.5 spewd and it was wild when you were doing the second shampoo thank you for this helpful tutorial!
