Hey guys Crystal here from Elite Hair Care, USA. So today we are going to be doing a transformation on my client who has decided that she would like to go short um. She basically flat irons her hair every day and she is going to start um acknowledging and loving her salt and pepper. So she won't be coloring anymore. So today we're going to give her a style that will allow her to um kind of just go through her day um. She also has an issue just like myself, where we perspire a lot specifically in our hair, so she wanted something that would be easy for her to maintain and, of course, we all know that long, hair and people who's perspired, like myself, it just doesn't work out. So we are going to give her a total revamp. You guys get to sit back and just kind of see exactly what we do but trigger warning for those of you that are so into this long, hair, she's getting a haircut okay, so stay tuned. So we started off by cutting her ponytail and she decided that she wanted to keep it, so we put a rubber band on her ponytail and she put it in her purse now guys this was my client's decision, so I just want to give you guys a Little disclaimer she knew exactly what she wanted and she perspires a lot, so she has just been tired of having having long hair. So once I cut off a lot of the length that we were not going to be using in the style, this is when I kind of started her preliminary haircut and then with the preliminary haircut. I did leave a lot of the hair in the crown just in case, because we were not 100 sure the length that she was going to keep on her face and instead of me just using my shears, I decided to number one: do the shears over comb? Just to kind of take a lot of the weight off um the sides and the back is definitely going to be short, but she also wanted to ensure that she had enough hair where, if she needed to curl it herself, she would be able to curl it. So I didn't want to give her the ultimate pixie cut like mines. That is another reason why I was very light-handed when it came on to taking her all the way down in regards to the length now, she is also going to be um growing out her salt and pepper hair. So we are not going to be coloring her today, but I am going to be toning, her salt and pepper, mainly because whenever you do a relaxer that hair can sometimes turn yellow and I always recommend you guys have a violet colored shampoo, which I do have A link in the description box to my Amazon store, where you're able to get the Pravana perfect blonde Violet shampoo, to help with removing that yellow from your salt and pepper hair, or even just your salt here. So once we did the preliminary cut. I went ahead and started her relaxer and then this was kind of making sure that I saw my direction and then, if there was any other hair I needed to take off, I could do that later on. So I am doing the relaxer on the crown area. I extended it out about one inch to maybe an inch and a half, depending on where I was. If you guys can clearly tell her, ends are already bone straight and her ends have been colored previously. So I didn't want to run the risk of applying relaxer to her ends, knowing that she has been coloring her hair herself and I'm not certain if the color was permanent, demi-permanent or semi-permanent, but at the same time her ends are straight, so it really does not Affect what we're doing, especially because I do still have some more hair that I have to cut off, so I just wanted to make sure that her salt and pepper hair was definitely relaxed and would lay down. So now, I'm just rinsing out her relaxer we're gon na do the whole wash process with the normalizing, shampoo and the conditioner, and then once I finish, her shampoo is when we will be doing the toning now, the level of toning that I'm doing this is on A different scale than just using the violet colored shampoo, this type of toning, that I'm doing is a five minute toner, usually for a type of toner that I'm about to do on her. You do need to go to a stylist. They would have more knowledge on using these levels of toners, but you can still use your violet colored shampoo, where you're able to shampoo the hair after you've completed your relaxer wash or your wash day and leave the condition. The shampoo on excuse me for at least five minutes now, I'm mixing up her toner. This is a violet colored toner, so it's still purple and then I also added a little bit of clear to dilute the level of violet that it would be because this particular line their Violet is very purple and because I know that she is salt and pepper And I'm really just trying to tone out any yellow from the relaxer. Her hair um didn't have a lot of yellow on it and I didn't want to run the risk of making it very purple either. So that is why I diluted The Violet with a clear toner from the company that I'm using for the express toner. No, I applied it to all of the gray hair and then I did extend it out to the brown hair or the previously colored hair. And the only reason why I extended it out is because it's just going to add a little gloss to that hair and also kind of like blend my toner. So I don't have a line of demarcation between toned salt and pepper, hair and a darker color, salt and pepper hair, which is the brown hair. Now this sits on for about five minutes and then I rinse her and give her a very light, either shampoo or conditioner, depending on what I'm doing. And then we go into our style or cutting phase. And then, of course, if you are doing just a regular color at this part of the process, you guys ensure that you are saturating the hair really really well. This is also why I recommend using a bowling brush, and I do also have a bowl and brush kit in my Amazon store down in the link in the description box. So a lot of the products that are not Elite, Hair Care Products. I do have um placed in my Amazon store that you can conveniently get and you'll be able to basically do some of the things that you guys see me do in the salon with professional tools, professional products. That kind of thing now, once the toner is placed on her hair, the toning starts the moment I put it on her hair, so usually within about one to five minutes. The color molecules begin to develop and usually around minute, five to even minute. Seven, we're already completely toned out. This is another reason why I don't recommend you guys using these professional line toners at home, because if you don't time them the right way, you end up with very pigmented hair and you will not be happy so for at home. Use just stick to the toning shampoos that you guys always hear me recommend. So now you guys can tell you can see that lavender or that pale lavender color. Had I not diluted the toner with a little bit of clear, it would have been as purple as the cape that she has on, and that is not really needed for her, because she did not have that much yellow pigment that I was trying to diminish. Okay, for those of you that don't understand the the term of toning that basically is canceling out any negative, colors or negative tones that are left in the hair after a cargo process or whatever the case may be. Now I am using a razor to um her sides and her back. This is not the razor that I would recommend you use, but I forgot to buy razors for my professional razor, and this is what I had so I made it work. This razor is like better for like weeds and stuff, like that it is still a razor, but my preference would have been my professional razor. It'S a lot smoother. It gives a better or a more clean cut, but this one worked for today, but I'm definitely going to get my um professional razors to go with my Razor. So I don't have to use this again on my client's hair now another thing when you're doing Razor Cuts. You have to really be careful because sometimes they say that you know Razor Cuts can cause a lot of split ends. In her case, I am doing the cut wet, so it kind of eliminates or diminishes the tense of having split ends and because of her hair texture. I want it to soften her cut and not give her any hard lines, and you have to kind of just make your decision as to when this technique is worth it versus using your shears. If I use my shears, then I would have to do a lot of notching a lot of blending, whereas when I use the razor on her hair texture, it just kind of gave a more softer. Um excuse me softer cut, rather than those very hard cuts. Okay, so that's also another reason why I recommend going to a stylist when you guys are getting your haircuts as well um, you just don't want to really play around with the haircuts just be mindful, and then for her front we've this. We established how long she wanted um her front to be so. That is why I left the front for last, and then I'm just going through and taking down the length now so that I can mold her put her under the dryer and then we'll be able to style her after so she did want her bangs to kind Of go over her eyebrows, so that is the reason why um, you saw us kind of talking in between the cut and then I just started to take off some of that unnecessary length and also give her a little bit of blending and layering in the front To keep her look nice and soft after we do this part of the process. This is when she will get molded and go under the dryer. So, no matter your texture, you guys molding. The hair is very important. When you have a shortcut, it will actually lay a really a much better Foundation than you just trying to mold it with water or not even mold it at all you're going to work a lot harder trying to style your hair. If you don't and when I say molding, I'm meeting with wrap foam of your choice, preferably the elite, silk, wrap foam and then, of course, once you mold yourself, you do need to go under the dryer and thoroughly dry. You never want to mold your hair with wrap, foam and then blow dry it. It leaves the hair sticky and it can also leave the hair very hard because it should be dried under a hooded dryer or what we call diffused air drying. Okay blow dryers. Don'T really do it unless the hair is about 90 to 95 percent dry, and then you use your blow dryer just to kind of get the ends or whatever the case may be. So once I finish the razor part I just went through and used my shears to clean up any areas that were too heavy and when I say too heavy you can kind of tell by looking at the hair when you have too much weight in one area. Now, if you can't really tell, then you can wait until the hair is dry and you can see it a lot better. I could see it as I was just looking at her hair and I could tell where the weight was so. That is the reason why I started to do it now versus after her hair was dry, but if, like I said, you can't see the weight for my stylist friends wait until the hair is dry and then you will definitely see where there is too much weight. Also, when you're styling the hair, you can also tell when there's too much weight when you're styling. So now we're going to go ahead and start her mold we're still going to mold her the traditional way um. I don't like to leave lines in the hair. Whenever I do a mold, I rather not have the line unless the style specifically um has lines in it and a client requests that, but in her case um she didn't based on the style that she wanted. So I'm just using my Elite silk, wrap, foam and laying the hair down. If you did a haircut or the haircut the right way, the hair is going to lay nice and smooth it's almost going to melt together. If you have too much weight in certain places, it will also show during the wrap phase, and then you'll know to just correct that area. Once the hair is dry, don't worry about correcting it now, just wait until the hair is drying at that time, when you're doing all of your detailing and your finishing touches, you can clean up the cut, as you see fit now for the front area. I am keeping it nice and soft at the hairline and just not I'm not trying to make like a hard liner when I say A Hard line, I kind of made it more like a soft weave um with the comb just to keep the hairline nice and Soft which, as females, you want your hairline to be soft. We don't really want hard hair lines unless that is your style, or that is the style you. You chose with your stylist now she wanted it under the dryer for about 45 minutes and we did use wrap strips to keep her hair um down on the sides and the back and then for the top. I didn't have to really do much so now that her hair is dry, I'm just going through I'm combing through her hair to see if I see any added weight or additional weight that I need to clean up, and this is also giving me a chance to Evaluate if I cut enough or if I needed to cut any, if I needed to cut any more um, I did see areas behind her ear. That was a little too um or too bulky. So I decided to use the razor to soften those areas again. So you can use your razor whenever you need to you guys whether it's dry or wet, but when I used it on the dry hair, I'm really just using it just to soften um or even remove a lot of the weight. Yet keep a lot of the length, so that is why you see me using the razor behind her ear. You don't want a lot of bulkiness around the ear either you guys it becomes uncomfortable whenever the client is trying to style their hair at home. So I usually give them the option if they want their ear out or not most times when you have a shortcut, you do want your ear exposed, because it just makes your e your styling a lot easier and your care for your hair when it's cut short, A lot easier as well now I am in the sides area. Her sides were a little too bulky for my liking, so that is why you see me still kind of um taking down some of that bulkiness in that area. Now some people like chunky sideburns, my client, didn't really tell me if she had a preference. So I was just using my stylist judgment whenever I was cleaning up any parts of her head now. Another thing you guys she actually flew to me from another country to get her hair done, and I wanted to make sure that she had something that she could manage. So we did talk about you know at home. You know her filing finding a stylist to ensure that they are able to wash, and you know, style her hair and she's, not trusting of anyone else cutting her hair just yet. So I told her you know when it's haircut time. You come back to me, but I'm also very realistic. You guys if you live somewhere other than where I am. You have to find a stylist in your area that can at least maintain your haircut, and I can be the person that creates the road map for them, because, usually that's where status have a lot of issue. They know how to style hair. They know how to make it beautiful. They know how to shampoo you but they're, not comfortable enough to create the road map from the beginning and give you that cut, because they get sometimes intimidated whenever they see haircuts and if that's, not their Forte they're not going to be comfortable. So I have a lot of clients that come to me when it's time for their haircuts and then they find a stylist in their area for them to be able to do their maintenance. Also, I have the clients that come to me for their chemical services and then their stylist is able who's local to them is able to just care for their hair. That kind of thing so, some of my clients, they drive three hours. Some drive two hours. Some fly eight hours, some fly ten hours, some fly even more than that, so my goal. Of course I would love to keep all my clients coming back and tell them yeah. I need to see you every two weeks, but let's be realistic, can you get to me every two weeks? If you live in another city or another state, life happens and it's not always going to be feasible for you to do so. So that is why I'm a very honest stylist and I tell people as much as I know, you don't want to trust anyone, and I appreciate that they trust me. You still have to find someone in your area that is going to be convenient for you, because if it's an inconvenient, you are not going to follow through and you're going to end up right where you're back right back where you were so, I know you guys See me cutting a lot more hair, I'm removing a lot of the weight. This is what you call detailing you guys. So this is where I'm correcting anything or you know, making any changes that need to be made. In her case, she does have a good amount of density. You guys, so I wanted to also make sure that I didn't add additional weight to her face. That'S number one, and also we didn't want additional weight to her head and when you guys saw her earlier touching the back of her head. She was asking if I was able to remove some of the bulkiness back there, because she didn't want to have too much hair, where it would require her to do a lot of work in the back of her head all right. So once our haircut was done. I sprayed her down with a little bit of goddess polish and then this is when the curling starts, so I am actually using the H2 Pro collection. This is the flat irons that you guys see available on my website, um for this particular portion of the curl. I'M using the seven tenths of an inch which is not available on the site right now, but you are able to use either the three tenths of an inch which is the pencil iron or the one inch ceramic. So this is a ceramic iron that I'm using to curl her hair. I don't recommend doing too much titanium irons as much as you guys see me use them. It'S not really safe for you to use it repeatedly at home if you're, trying to really take care of your hair. Titanium is good for people who have to Silk their hair out, and it's also good for on people who have more coarser textured hair, whereas her she has a medium to fine textured hair. So ceramic worked just fine for me now, as I'm curling her I'm just spraying some goddess polish. I might also spray a little bit of Sebastian shaper on her. The Sebastian shaper is also available in my Amazon store and in the goddess polish. You can get on our website at Elite Hair Care usa.com. Now I'm gon na just stop talking, because I've talked a lot during the video. Let you guys watch the style unfold and then we'll come back at the end and talk about the Finish foreign foreign, foreign, foreign, foreign, foreign, foreign, all right, so we have finished the bulk of curling, we're just going to use our wide tooth comb and just kind Of move the hair around distribute hair wherever we need to soften the hair wherever we need to, and basically this is just the styling process, so I did limit how much goddess polish I was spraying on her hair at a time I really just was using it To tame the flyaways and kind of melt, the hair together, but this is something that she can easily maintain at home. She can just tie her hair around the sides in the back and then even if her curls begin to drop with her texture of hair and the fact that her cuticle lays down nice and nice and flat, she literally can go without curls if need be, and Then just kind of bump the front, and she is all done okay, but the finished style is here you guys. Especially to fly to you to get her hair done also says a lot about you. She looked pleased with the job you've done. Gr8 work as usual Miss Crystal.

HANNAH: Hair transformations can be amazing ! Your client looks lovely I think it would be cool , if at the end of these transformations, you had a before and after screen shot side by side

Evelyn Hurte: Her hair cut is gorgeous. I went to the barber shop in 2017, and got my butt length hair, shaved off, so I could embrace my Salt & Pepper curly locks. I only added heat to my hair at that time, twice a year, as it took me forever to flat iron it. But after watching Chrystal for the past 10 months, I learned that I was in fact Silk Pressing my hair. Fast forward 5 years. I have not put heat on my hair at all & my hair is almost to my butt again.

Sandy Hu Missouri: Loved her smile at the end! She'll be so glad it's short! My mom went gray from almost that same color.

classy unique: Crystal you are born for cutting, shaping and styling hair,I really enjoy watching you do this, I feel satisfied, thanks for sharing

Mama Roze: Turned out really cute! I sure wish I could get my hair cut by you and be shown how to style it. I recently (2 weeks ago), went from long hair to a long pixie, but I can’t get the front to curl like I want. I’m going to look at your irons.

Claudia McNal: Amazing! Very challenging processing n haircut n layering! Thank you for explaining the different steps to get such a wonderful look!

Joanna Klimas-Kangas: I was waiting for a final trim of the neck like. Also it always makes me wonder why the haidressers make some sophisticated hairdo instead just styling the natural curl (in this case) and show the client how to simply and nice style it at home (so it is corrsponding with the new shape of the cut)

Marsha Crawford: Hi Crystal, I love watching you and learning from you. You are amazingly gifted. I wish I could get a consultation with you, unfortunately I'm not in the same state. But keep doing what you do. BLESSINGS

kemunto Jayne: I'm 58 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to replace it. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 40years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for

NadsG: From personal experience it's such a weight lifted sometimes when you go short

Simply_Flamingo: Why relax her hair? Her hair seems to grow straight from the root. I have the same texture hair and my hair gets bone straight with just a blow dry. On a positive note, her hair turned out beautiful!

Millie Migues: You are a true artist!

charmaine gray: Absolutely Beautiful, love that haircut

parradiseacres: I don’t know why you have to keep telling people that it’s your clients’ choice to cut her hair. It doesn’t matter what your audience thinks. It’s always up to the clients whether they want their hair cut short or not. The audience has no say so!!

Renee Mosley: LOVE THE CUT!!!

Velma Holcombe: Beautiful as usual Crystal, she has Beautiful hair anyway

sharon vizcarrondo: The style fits your client well.

BETZ: Great work Crystal…I’m pleased to say I am now a tribe member
