Hey y'all, it's me serena and welcome back to style with serena. I just wanted to talk a little bit about my change, which is my hair and um. It'S a big deal to me because i have had basically the same hairstyle for oh. I don't know how many years i've just i've, had a bob and it has varied in length. I'Ve had you know all the way up to my chin with it really, you know stacked. In the back i had years ago, i had the a-line bob where it was really a lot longer in front and then shorter and back and but i have kept some variation of that bob silhouette for a long, long time and um. And so i was just ready for something different and i had been letting my hair grow out. It was rather short, so i had not had a trim since february of this year and it's june now mid-june, and so i went into my hairdresser and i told her - i wanted something just newer fresher, not so structured as that bob was. My hair has a lot of natural wave in it anyway and um so sometimes, especially in the summer. It gets really hard trying to smooth that out, um and into a nice sleek bob because of the humidity and everything where i live so um. She decided to give me some curtain bangs, and i think she cut a few little layers here in the back and then blended it all in. So i was just going to give you guys a little rundown of how i styled it. Today is my first day. Styling it myself so um. I just gon na show you what i did and i think it turned out: okay for the first time that i've done it by myself. So um, i just blew it out and um didn't really use a round brush much a little bit to get some of the you know weird kinks out, but just blew it out. You know with a hair dryer, and then i took my my bangs section right here and um, just one velcro roller, that's all i used. I sprayed a little a tiny bit of hairspray on it and rolled this back away from my face, so my hair was going this way and um and i just let it set there the whole time. I was doing my makeup and everything else. My bangs were just pushed back wrapped back around this curler roller and it's just a pink velcro roller that you can buy in a pack. You know walmart walgreens or wherever i've had the same ones forever, but they work great so and then um after i did my makeup and everything the rest of my hair down here. I just took my flat iron because i don't have a curling iron. I guess that's big enough for the right size for what i wanted to do, and i just did some um some loose waves using my flat iron and this flat iron is well used and well loved. It is by hot tools - and i got this a while back at ulta. You can see that this is kind of scratched off where i've used it so much. But i love this and i think it's a one inch um flat eye, straightening iron and what i like about it. It'S got a digital, uh, readout on it and it's temp. You can adjust the temperature. So it's not just on off. You know super hot or just two settings, you know warm and extra, hot or whatever. You can actually set the degrees on here and so i'll. Try to find this one or one like it, and link it down below because um. I really enjoy this flat iron and of course you can use it to straighten your hair. But i just took little sections of my hair and clamped this onto it and then just twisted it like this away from my face until it made just kind of these little waves. Didn'T want curls just little waves and i did that all around my head and then i sprayed it a little bit. I used this wax blast from redken and then i just barely you know, ran my hands through it to break it up a little bit, and then i took the wax blast and just kind of around the bottom, and this stuff is really good for um. If you want like a pc, look and that's why i used it just to break it up a little bit and i used a little bit on my bangs and um, but yeah it's great for giving kind of that pc messy. Look the wax blast by redken and then, when i was done, i hit it with my hairspray that i forgot to bring in here with me, but it's the l'oreal elenet that you saw on my video about drugstore, walmart health and beauty, favorites and i'll link that Up here somewhere, but that video i'll link it but yeah, that is my new look and my youngest daughter macy. I asked her what she thought about it and she said i can't decide, because i can only remember seeing you with one hairstyle, and this is so different. I don't know what to think so, but my husband really likes it. So i just wanted to show you guys, since this is different from you know the way you've seen me with my hair. I just wanted to talk you through it and i wanted to give a big shout out to noel and joey at jody. Sorry at salon, noel noel, is the only person. I trust in this town. Cutting my hair she's been cutting my hair for years, and i love her, and so thank you for giving me a new fresh look. I love it and i look forward to letting this grow out some and having long hair again and something that i can style different ways. So thank you for joining me today and i hope those gave you some tips or maybe, if you are thinking about breaking out of your hair rut or whatever, if you're in one to just go for it and don't be, don't be afraid, don't uh don't cling To to a style just because that's what you're comfortable with, if you want to change up your style, don't don't be afraid to do it find someone that you trust with your hair and just let them guide you and keep you looking up to date and current. So that's it for today and thanks for watching i'll, see y'all again soon, bye,

The Daily with Charlotte Z: So pretty, I love this style on you- so youthful in all the good ways!

Micheline: I love it! Looks so current. Nice to change it up but still versatile. Thanks for the tips too. Might need to show it to my stylist

Joyce Grinczel: Your new hairstyle looks great! You’ve got me thinking now about my own hairstyle. I’ve had the same style for a long time—a bob with bangs. I too have a bit of wave with my hair that is very susceptible to humidity. I also use a Velcro roller on my bangs to smooth them while I’m doing my makeup. And, I then use a flatiron to smooth out my waves. I’ve had bangs for so long and every time I try growing them longer to something like a curtain bang, I cave and cut them. If you get a chance sometime, could you film how you make your waves? My hair is similar length. Thanks-always enjoy your stylings!

Linda Kuehl: Love your new hairstyle! It's fun to change things up.

Pam Long: It looks so great! I love it!

SVR Reservations: It looks beautiful, Serena! Frames your face so nicely.

Wanda: It looks great Serena! It’s important to change up our hairstyles or we start to look dated.

Julie’s JAM: Cute hair!! I love it! I just changed mine to a middle part and I feel like a totally different person! LOL!

Rita Starnes: Love it! It looks so much longer now. I too wear my hair in a bob. I currently don't have bangs but have been thinking about trying them again. I know what you mean about having a only go to stylish. A couple of years ago I started over thinking about time and being more productive with it and got another person to do my hair. Ouch. big mistake, my color was so bad I looked like a yellow school bus‍♀️ . Needless to say I haven't strayed since. TFS and have a great day.

Doris Porter: Cute haircut and pretty top!!! Thanks for the tips!

Amanda Newson: It looks great!

D Brown: I love your new look! I prefer something easy to style and this fits the bill. Did you change your color too? TFS! Debbie

Rita Stutler: Hi Serena, Your new hair style makes you look younger !!! You look great! As we get a little older, movement and layers are the way to go. I am a newly retired hairstylist. I do miss my clients. I never did shampoo sets ... where people wanted their hair to look exactly the same... the same everyday ... Boring! You have a good hairstylist if she has taught you to use your hands to help style your hair. Our hands are the best styling tools sometimes. Get an inch curling iron by Hot Tools... would probably give u just waves. Pink shirt looks great. .

Laura Gentry: Love it, so pretty

Wendy Brown: So cute! Love it Serena!

Debra Perry: Your hair looks great!

Stephanie Gawlik: Looks great! I have the same flat iron and it’s the best. And I love those earrings! Where are they from?

Bonnie E: Looks really cute! I'm with you........bored with the bob. My hair stylist which is Paul, is going to start mine growing into a new pic that his newest hair stylist in the salon found that would at least get it out of the bob shape. Thanks for the product list......I use Elnett too. Very lightly. First strong wind and mine is blown to bits, ha! You have beautiful hair and that style looks great on you!

murray muncy: Love it!

Jennie Dahlen: I like your new hair style!

J Flo: I’m thinking about curtain bangs. Do they lay right when you’re wearing glasses or sunglasses? Just wondering because I wear glasses full time. thank you.

Deborah Neat: It’s cute!

frank janvari: hello very nice lady very beautiful video please I would like to see you you style your own hair using the hair rollers please ok?please kindly reply back ok?thank you very much
