Foreign hi everyone welcome back to my Channel. Today we are going to be diving in to the new shark. This is the flex style, hair, styling and drying system. So shark has came out with their own version of the Dyson air wrap, and I see it coming. Yes, I'm just surprised it took them this long. That'S what I was surprised by shark seems to kind of follow, along with what Dyson's doing, but at a discounted price. Some people don't like brands that copy other brands and I get it. But there is a huge price difference between these two dryers. I wanted to test them out and see how they compare. Now, if you're familiar with my channel, you will know that I have loved the Dyson since I got it so I bought my first Dyson in October of 2020 fell madly in love with it. I bought it during the Sephora holiday event, so I saved 20. I think I paid roughly like 434 or something like that fell hardly in love with it. Now there is a learning curve when it comes to using the Dyson. I have uploaded a full video on how to use the Dyson, so I'm not going to be going through all the steps on how to use the Dyson airwrap. I will link that video in the description box down below this. Video is strictly about comparing the new shark versus the Dyson and how they compare, because I've pretty much use the Dyson now every day for two years. I know exactly how the Dyson works. I know how my curls wear. I know how they look and I'm very, very familiar with the air wrap. It'S not like, I'm using it every once in a while. I use this sucker every single day now granted I only wash my hair every four days but every day, just to kind of give my hair some fluff. I will take my air wrap and kind of fluff up my curls, so I definitely use it every day. It just is something that I've become very comfortable with. I love the Dyson, it's one of the best investments I've made for my hair. I absolutely love it in this video I'm going to be testing it next to the new Dyson, the Dyson that I bought in October 2020. I gave to my daughter, so Dyson came out with a new version of it. Basically, just new tools and my daughter had been wanting one. She is 19 going to college and she'd been wanting an air wrap and they'd been sold out for a while. Then when they launched the new one. I thought well I'll give her the one that I bought in October 2020 and I'll buy the new system. So in June of this year I went ahead and bought the new airwrap with the new tools. If you already have the Dyson the one before the new tools, you only need to buy the new tools. You don't need to buy the new dryer. The dryer is exactly the same. Nothing is different about the new dryer, it's just the air wrap tools and the tools are so much better because you don't have to have two for one size, meaning this is the shark. So the shark has one of these okay, it's they only come in one size, so there's a difference. Dyson has two sizes, so they have this size and they also have this size. That'S smaller. The shark only has one size of air wrap and they still have the arrows, meaning that the curl, this arrow is the direction your curl will go. So you'll need two of them so that you have one that goes in each Direction. Now, there's a few ways to buy this dryer system. You can either build build your own, which is what I did that retails for 249, and you can choose three tools of your choice. They also have two bundles that are 269 dollars each. They have one. That'S for straight and wavy hair, and they also have one that's for curly and coily hair. So I do like that there are some options there and you can also add extra accessories to your bundle, so it depends on what you're wanting it for I picked. Of course, the air wraps, so I'm going to be using these. I also picked the round brush right here and I picked the flat brush this one right here. It kind of has the flat side I like to use this when I'm drying as I'm drying. It really helps uh to kind of flatten the hair and kind of make it fluff, and then I got this tool, which is you can put it on the tip of the dryer and kind of do like a root booster. I didn't even know this launched. I was searching for something on Dyson and this popped up in my Google search and it was back ordered for a minute took a minute for it to ship, and I got it and I was just shocked. I didn't even know that they even came out with it, because I've loved the Dyson as much as I have. I know that it's so expensive, it's 600 for the new one. I wanted to go ahead and test it next to this new shark and see if it is the same and if you can achieve the same results for less than half the cost. So in this video I am basically going to be doing the shark on one side and the Dyson on the other, so I basically split my hair in half just to give it a fair shot. I even test the drying time because, when you're using the air wrap tools, you want your hair to be 80 to 90 dry. Before you use this tool, I went ahead and timed it. I timed how long it took the shark to dry this side of my hair versus the Dyson on this side of the hair. Then, of course, we're going to test how the air wrap works and the cool shot and all of the functions and how it compares to the Dyson. But I didn't feel like it would be a real review if I didn't do a time test, meaning that I got done with my hair about 1 30.. I'M gon na come back later on this evening. Around 10 o'clock, I got a ton of errands to run so I'm going to be in and out of the car in and out of the heat. I want to show you guys how the shark curls hold up to the Dyson curls. I think the only true way to properly test these is to see how the how the curls hold up and how long the curls last that's pretty much it you guys, that's the intro. Let'S go ahead and jump into drying my hair and comparing these tools see how they compare and then I will come back later in this evening and show you guys how the hair looks and I will jump into my final thoughts. So I will see you guys, then, okay, so we are going to go ahead and jump into this. This has finally arrived. I just took the lid off and this is what's inside. So this is how it comes here. Kind of shows you how to use the tools in here, so the unique thing about this handle versus the Dyson Dyson doesn't Bend this one does so you push this down and rotate it this way, and then you have a dryer which is pretty cool. I do like that, so the one thing that I'm noticing right off the bat if you're familiar with the Dyson, this theme right here, is the filter and it pulls off and you clean all around here. It comes with a little attachment that is like a circle and it goes around and cleans, and then this you take this off and soak it in like soapy water for about 20 minutes. You don't clean the filter. This will shut off, so it will overheat. What I'm noticing about the shark is that this doesn't come off, so you'll probably just take a toothbrush and go into and try to get it clean. I do wish that this came off like the Dyson, because I can see this being a little problematic just FYI. We are gon na test them out now. From this point, I'm gon na go ahead and dry. My hair, just like I normally, would I'm gon na go ahead and dry, this portion of my hair 90 dry and I'm going to use the shark on my left side and I'm going to use the Dyson on my right side and I'm going to time. How long it takes for each side to dry, so I'm going to go ahead and set my timer, I'm going to use the shark first and then I'm going to use the Dyson and I'm going to use this tool. So this tool actually snaps on and it twists it snaps on really easily it does it's very easy to put on start that took two and a half minutes to do this side, it's 90 dry! So two and a half minutes. I have my beets in because I'm watching I always watch TV I always watch like Netflix or Housewives, or something while I'm drying my hair, so we are going to reset it. I am going to do this side now. I could have used this brush. Okay or the round brush I'll use the round brush on the top and compare it to the round brush with the Dyson. But I don't have this tool with me and I don't want to compare them because it really wouldn't be fair. So that's the reason why I use my my regular brush and I'm going to do the same on this side. So I'm going to use this attachment, have the airflow coming this way so that it goes like this bush start and go. So this side is done and we're at two minutes. So just almost close so far, I would say they're very similar in how fast they dry I'm going to pull down the rest of my hair, and then I like to do this top section separately, just FYI. I have weft extensions, so right here is my top weft, and the first section that I just did is my bottom row, because I have two rows of weft extensions. So that's the reason why I dry them separately, we're going to reset the clock and I'm going to do the shark on this side, foreign. So we're done and it's just over three minutes. One thing that I do want to mention is that you like, I was like switching hands. You know, if your hand gets tired and you want to switch and hold it. If you grab right here, it's hot like way hot, so just FYI don't grab right there, because it's still hot this thing is smoking hot, we're, gon na start the clock we're gon na reset it. Thank you, okay! So we're done and it's right around three minutes. I'M not watching the clock by the way. I turn it back to my Netflix and I'm watching I'm not watching it as I'm timing it. So my hair is about 80 dry. I use the bigger air wrap from Dyson, but these are not the same size. So they're not going to be the same size of curl, so this is going to be a smaller, tighter curl than the Dyson. You can already see the difference, and this is how it compares to the smaller size. I would say this one from shark is in between these two sizes from Dyson, so let's actually find out what the size is, because I'm not sure so this one from Dyson it says it's 1.2 inches and the one from Shark says that it is a 1.25 Inch, I don't think they're the same. I mean look they're, not the same. There'S no way they're the same. I'M gon na use the big one, because I don't think that these two would match this. One from Dyson is a 0.8 inch, and so this one would definitely not be comparable and I don't use the smaller one PS. I use the larger one. Just personally, the size of the curl may not look the same. Just FYI this one from Shark might be a little bit smaller of a curl. Because of that I have done a full video about how to use the Dyson, and I will link that video in the description box. But I like my way, my curls to go away from my face, so we're gon na start with the shark first and I'm gon na use this one, because it's away from my face section's about like this we are going to. But I'm noticing right away about the shark. Is that all of the turn it on and off is right here. The cool shot is right here which is going to be easy, but the dice - and everything is right here and it's so much easier because it's you're not holding it from the base, like I don't hold it from down here. I hold it from right here because I have more control so right away. I'M noticing that turning this on and off is going to be a little bit more difficult. That'S one thing that I'm noticing that's different, so we're gon na turn it on yeah. That'S a much smaller curl than the Dyson, but it's the same concept it just. The curl is a little smaller and I it's it's hard to get used to having the controls down here at the bottom, because it's like you're holding your hair with one hand, and then you got ta kind of like maneuver this down to the bottom of this Base and turn it on you're gon na have to use two hands to do this, just something to think about okay, so this side is done, so you guys can see it. That'S what it looks like this is the time that I grab my aurabe texture spray and while the curls are cooling down, this will kind of give them some texture. So we're going to start with the Dyson foreign, so the Dyson side is done. That'S what they look like: they are a little bit looser of a curl than the shark, but I suspected that would happen. One of them is off on their sizes, I'm not sure which one, but you can see that the shark side is much curlier. So if I like go like this, you can see it's much clearer than the Dyson okay right off the bat I was using the shark. The cool shot just doesn't feel like it's a cooling. It there's a definite difference between that there's, a definite difference between the cool shot of the of the shark versus the Dyson, the Dyson. You can feel the air getting cooler with the shark, not at all like. I don't even know that I'm pushing the button and I'm like is my button broke, but I'm pushing it and holding it down, because it's right here and it's not doing it so the reason for the cool shot is to cool the the curl down. It makes the curl last longer it kind of sets the curl. You always want to do a cool shot when using the air wrap, because you know you're using so much heat to give it that curl in order to lock the curl. The cool shot for like 10 seconds cools it down and gives it that uh curl. So, let's move to the top. I just had my bangs um. I don't know what they call it like textured and they're. So short, look at this. I didn't mean it to be short. I just wanted them not so thick, so they're short anyway. I use the round brush on my top. I am going to pin this hair and I'm gon na split this hair in half okay. So this side, I'm going to use this tool for the shark and on this side, I'm going to use the round brush. Just so, we can see how they work. Oh not this, this, my bad, this I'm going to use this. I kind of like that. The round brush is bigger. I'M not gon na lie. I do really like the round brush on this. I wish that the Dyson would come out with a larger round brush. That'S one thing that I wish they had. I'M gon na go ahead and do this with the round brush foreign. Now I immediately go to the air wrap and I am going to airwrap this part. So I'm going to split that into see I'm saying it says buttons down there. Yeah that Cold Shot is just not working on this. I mean it cools it. The time like it's not as hot, but it's not cool Okay, so we'll see how it looks once I get it done as far as volume goes, so I'm gon na go ahead and do the rest. I like the size of this, but the cool shot isn't. As effective as the Dyson, I don't know that it does you all that much good, because, if you're familiar with using a round brush to dry your hair, it's always recommended to you know, even if you're, just using a brush like a round brush and drying with A regular dryer - it's always smart to like the last 10 seconds, shoot it with the cool so that it will set the curl sew or set the volume in this case. So just FYI, the cool shot is not the best on this shark. Okay. So I know this all looks crazy, but I want you guys to see that the Dyson has already kind of relaxed and this is still pretty curled. So it's definitely a tighter curl. I'M now going to take some texture spray put it here in my roots, texture, spray kind of dirties up your hair, and then I like to flip my hair over and kind of shake up the curls. So that's what I'm going to do all right. So I need some hairspray now I need to grab my gray spray hold on and I use the Oribe one. This one is the root touch up in dark brown, so see my grays right. There watch this, it's magic. You got to give it a good Shake, though, if you don't give it a good shake it don't work very good, gone gray, hairs, wear, okay, shark side, dice inside big difference. This side is curlier for sure, and I'm not mad. At the curl I mean it's pretty curl. It'S this side is just a little bit more loose okay. So let's look at the back shark side dice inside. So I'm done with my hair. I'M gon na go about the rest of my day and see how this hair works like see. If this curl lasts all day, I'm just gon na come back in a few hours later on this evening and we're gon na. Do we're gon na look at it and we're gon na see how each of these compare and how they hold that? Because that's going to be a true test, I've been using the Dyson for two years. I know how it works. I know how it lasts. I know all about it, but I am very curious to see how this side lasts. I don't feel like I could give it a review, a real review without showing you guys what it looks like several hours later, because that's the true test. So I'm gon na go ahead and jump off of here, and I will see you guys all later on this evening. In my final thoughts, foreign, it's been a few hours since I filmed and it is currently 10 48 at night. So I said it wrong in the intro for some reason I said 1 30 and it was actually 3 30.. I don't know why. I said that you know sometimes it just things come out of my mouth, that I don't understand. It'S been a very long day. I'M exhausted my eyes are red. I'M ready to go put my pajamas on get my makeup off. I also wanted to mention I've been wearing this all day and it's still on this is from earlier today when I filmed this is the Fenty. They only had like one shade or maybe two in stock, can't read it I'll put it down here. It'S the lip stain. I can't read what it says that writing is hella small. This is like the orange color and boy. Does it stain your lips? I hope she comes out with these in like toned down colors, because they're really pretty, let's go ahead and look at the hair, as you can tell it's much more relaxed now several hours later. This is the Dyson side, and this is the shark side. So you can see that the shark side still kind of has that curl to it versus the Dyson. This is the shark side. This is the Dyson side, obviously there's still more curl with the shark, but here's the thing with that, though you could get the same type of curl, maybe a little bit tighter if you use the smaller Barrel in the Dyson. So it's you know, the curl is the here, nor there, let's get into the pros and the cons. The pros are the price, the price it's fantastic. I mean the Dyson is 600. This is roughly you know, 250 275. If you buy the big bundle, but at the end of the day, you're saving a significant amount of money right. So the price difference is fantastic and I'm a Dyson lover and I love my Dyson and with that said, will I start using the shark? No, I'm going to still use my Dyson for a few reasons, because there are things that I like more about the Dyson than I did. The shark number one, the cool shot, the cool shot is just not very effective in the shark. The cool shot, like I mentioned several times in the testing process, the cool shot, doesn't feel like it's a cool air and I'm not saying that the Dyson is all of a sudden cold. But it's not the hot air and this shark just doesn't really have it. But it still holds up so even without the cool shot. I still have some curl left, so that's here, nor there right my biggest complaint with this tool is all of this down here. This is frustrating and coming for from someone that uses a Dyson when you're holding the Dyson. Your everything is right here and you flick it with your fingers with this. You have to slide your hand all the way down to the bottom and that's a pain. It'S just something you have to get used to, so I, like the Dyson setup better than this one other problematic thing that I'm noticing is the filter. They should have found a way to take this filter off like somehow able to clean it better. I can see this being a issue in the future and the reason why I say that is because I have to clean my filter, probably every two to three months on my Dyson this right here: it'll start blinking, red and it'll kind of shut off. That'S the only thing that I feel like is a little tricky with this new shark. I would just make sure that you clean this often I would clean it with a toothbrush every couple weeks or something that's my suggestion just to keep the whole dryer functioning right. I also wanted to mention that the warranties are the same, so the Dyson and the shark both offer a two-year warranty. The one thing that's a minor difference: it's not a big deal, but when you order the Dyson you get like a train can case and also a travel case. The shark doesn't come with that, so the shark doesn't have a case that you can put it in. I personally love the case because I keep everything down in there right. This is what it looks like um and then I keep the train case in my closet. That'S here, nor there I mean, I'm I'm doing comparisons, so I'm giving you guys all of the differences right overall. This is a really nice tool and it gets my stamp of approval. I'M really impressed with it I'm impressed with the way that it does do what the Dyson does. There are some differences between the two tools, but overall it does do. What does what the Dyson does? I feel like it's better than the Dyson no, but do I feel like it's a fantastic option? If you don't want to spend all of the money on the Dyson, absolutely if you order it from their website, I will link it down in the description box down below. If you order it from their website, they do offer a firm which is fantastic. So you can just pay payments on it, make it easy if you're someone that already has the Dyson and you're just curious, how the shark compare years. I think that your Dyson is built a little better and it has better options. There'S things that makes the Dyson better, but the shark is a fantastic tool for those of you that have not wanted to spend the 600 on a Dyson. This is a great option. It really is it. I'M kind of impressed there's been a lot of Brands out there that have done something similar to this and I don't feel like they got it right, but I feel like even though there's some things about it, that I don't love it's still far better than some Of the others that I've seen out on the market, so that is my overall thoughts on this round off down below how many of you guys are curious about this shark? Are you thinking about picking it up? What are your thoughts sound off down below? Thank you. So much for hanging out with me in today's video. I hope you guys all have a wonderful day, and I will see you guys all in my next video love. You bye foreign

msmorbid921: Thank you for doing a side by side comparison with the Dyson. I had previously bought the Dyson but returned it because I couldn’t justify the price tag. I think the Dyson definitely feels more luxurious and looks a little nicer but I’m not disappointed with the Shark at all. I have shorter hair so the smaller barrels for curls is nice for me. The round brush wins 100% because like you mentioned, the Dyson one is smaller. I also feel like the Shark gets hotter. Agree with you on the cold shot though. For me the lower price tag is worth it for me to figure out the button configuration but to each their own. Either way, it’s such an awesome invention- it’s been a game changer for me!

ei: is the dyson lowest temperature setting cooler than the shark lowest temperature setting? seems like the shark gets hotter in general which makes the cool shot harder to jump from really hot to somewhat cool quickly. I think this shark is a great tool though to try since you’re not paying 500+ to experiment and not knowing if it suits your hair type. Appreciate the comparison, not many people use the dyson frequently and also have the shark right now

The Tingle Sessions ASMR: The UK version is black&rose gold, comes with all 5 attachments, a black case, along with a quick start guide and a styling guide. Mine arrived today and I can’t wait to use it! Your review was super helpful, thank you Tara! I believe the shark filter does come off, you just slide down (from what I’ve been told) I do love the US’ version colour, it’s beautiful x

J Morgan: If I didn't already own the newer version of the Airwrap I would buy the Shark due to the lower price and the oval brush. I'm hoping Dyson eventually releases an oval brush. I prefer the cool shot on the Dyson and the ability to switch the curl direction without having to swap barrels. I had the original Airwrap but gave it to my mom when I upgraded.

Tracy Panzarino: Thanks for the review Tara! If I didn’t already just purchase the Dyson the Shark would be a yes because the side with the shark looks beautiful! Honestly though your hair is gorgeous no matter what you use!

Tara Lynn: GREAT NEWS The shark filter DOES come off. YAY. I read the pamphlet, and it didn't say anything about taking it off; it just said to clean it with a toothbrush. I tried to take it off, but I now realize you need to pull hard to get it to come off. That's fantastic news, and it will help the longevity of the dryer. Thank you to everyone in the comments who brought this to my attention ❤️ You all are amazing. Shark did a FANTASTIC job creating something similar to the Dyson concept at a MUCH more affordable price. Well done, Shark

savanah: This was like hanging out with my sister. Thank you for taking the time (and effort) to share the process with us and comparing them side by side.

Dianne Hall: I’m so glad you did this test of the Dyson and Stark. I have the older Shark dryer. After you finished styling your hair the Stark side looked so much better than the Dyson side that it made me decide to get the new Shark model.

Krista: I so appreciate this! I was going to get the shark hair dryer for Christmas but I’ve decided to get the flexstyle instead! I already ordered it! I have curly/wavy hair, but I straighten it sometimes. This will give me the best of both options! I think the buttons won’t be a big deal since I won’t be switching from one to the other. I just don’t want to spend the money for the Dyson and seeing your results, I don’t think I need to. Thanks!

ivy liu: I love the way Dyson sounds. It's almost muffled compared to shark. Also the cool shot is a must. It's curlier because of the harsh heat. But remember this products main purpose is to kind of also protect your hair from harsh heat. Also the buttons on the shark are not well designed compared to Dyson. The packaging experience is also a huge difference. Great review!

Olga Mercado: Hi Tara. Thank you for the review! I have the Dyson and my curls do not hold very long. After seeing the final check in, I have to say I like how the Shark side looks better & now I’m curious of how it would hold my curls.

Cindy P: Finally something even close to the Dyson! I love how Dyson sets the bar high with tech & forces others to try harder. Thanks for the review, it's interesting!

Paula J: I already have the air wrap so I’m not getting this, but I think the controls would be easier to reach if you had the dryer bent went you were using the curling rods. That’s what Malibu did. Your hair is so gorgeous no matter what, Tara!

Stephanie: Thank you so much for this review Tara! I love your comparisons, I find myself searching your reviews before I make a purchase because you give me all the details I need, so thank you!! ❤️ Just wanted to ask, which one do you think gives more volume? (And I realize longevity is a factor here). Or do you think they're about the same for volume? Also wanted to say your hair is stunning, it always looks so good in your videos!

Jacquelyn Wolanski: I think the side with shark looks better and healthier. I'm glad the instruments are at the bottom otherwise my hands mess with them. The cost is much better. The filter does pop down.

Tracie Warren: Thanks for the comparison! I am a Dyson person from the home use products (vacuums, fans, air purifiers etc) to the hair care products ( original dryer, air wrap, and Corrale), and I love them all! I think what pushes Dyson ahead of the pact is their innovation and commitment to inventing unique and quality products, which is what we are paying for with their products. I get folks don’t want to pay Dyson prices and the Shark provided a more affordable option for consideration. My heartburn is with how Shark has zero innovation, so all they do is wait until they can take Dyson’s technology and slap their name on it at a lower price. Shark does nothing but copy and never creates anything unique or brings any sort of innovation to the market. I’m sure folks will love this product because it’s a great price point but not for me. I’d rather give my money to Dyson. Like you, I wish they created a larger round brush as I use that frequently. I recall when the Airwrap first launched, they had the options based on hair type but I guess it was just easier to package all the tools together instead of offering different sets with only slight differences in price. Also, just curious how you would describe the brush bristle material? I know the Dyson is probably all nylon but could tell if these were more traditional brush like or not. Once again, fantastic review!!!

Bren's Boutique: Great review, Tara! The Dyson has literally been one of my favorite purchases too!! It has completely changed my hair game and I am seriously considering getting a back-up in the next sale (if they ever come back in stock lol)! Really appreciate this comparison! ❤

ThatGirlMimi3: Great review - thank you! I have neither at this point & my intent was solely to maintain my healthy hair (extensions) and prevent split ends. I'm not sure if that makes the Dyson worth an extra $400 (in Canada it is $750, while the Shark is $350). The lack of cool air bothers me and I wonder if that will defeat the purpose of the Shark technology, in terms of preventing heat damage. (This is the 3rd review I've heard about the cool air actually being warm air.) Right now I'm leaning towards the Shark, but I keep swaying - I also just learned about it today.

strongestrose: Perhaps there were legal time restraints restricting other companies from utilizing certain technologies. Whatever the reason, I’m excited you like the more affordable version. I may try it.

Tricia Cooper: Great review and comparison! I have been in the market for the Dyson for quite some time. I nearly bought it early last spring but the day I had it in my cart I read about the new release and decided to wait. Since that time I’ve chopped my hair to shoulder length. I still curl my hair every few days. With all of this terribly long into I’m wondering if I would like either? Shorter hair people—do you use the Dyson? The buttons on the bottom looks like a pretty big inconvenience.

Kat Brinson: I’ve been reluctant to get the Dyson because I have 2 Dyson vacuums and don’t like either one. I think the brand is overhyped. So I am glad you reviewed the Shark!

Rosie Bess: After months of my Dyson auto shutting off—I had my husband take it apart and blow it out with his shop tools! Now it doesn’t auto shut off. It tends to suck a lot of lint out of the air..

Tracy Huynh: The filter on the Shark actually comes off just like the Dyson’s

Andrea Lakins: I just ordered my shark from Best Buy I can’t wait to use it. That being said if I had the Dyson I would definitely only use that as well because it’s an investment and you should get your use out of it.

Karen Rowan: I like that the shark has a diffuser option for this device. It would cost me $1000 to own both Dyson products that would allow me to style naturally curly with the diffuser or blow out/loose curls with the air wrap.

Crystal Lynn: I suggest you watch Milabu's video on this Tara. It works really well if you twist it to curl (like you were drying your hair)

Curly maty: im so excited to get the shark version,. I bought the dyson version but it didnt work great on my naturally curly hair so I returned it. I think the shark is going to work better on curly hair because of the brush bristles. im so excited

Shelley: Awesome review! I so appreciate the time and effort you put into these types of videos. I am also so happy to see your chanel growing. All those comparisons you do is a lot of work and so very helpful! Blessings to you ❤️

Lauren Bartmier: Really appreciate the review! I’ve watched a ton of reviews already on this thing and yours is so thorough! Loved it! ❤

An L: It’s very obvious how shark is stronger turning hair around ! I had so much troubles with Dyson when I tried to do curls

nadiadncr: Wow looks amazing it's good to have another more affordable option with similar results. I love my dyson hairdryer I do want the air wrap so if anyone is listening I'm accepting it as a gift LOL

Nicky Carreras: I definitely want the Shark for the price aspect, but I do have VERY long hair so the Dyson is more appealing to me since they have longer barrels. I have long hair like to my butt long lol. Anyone with long hair have the shark and let me know how they like it!

Online Makeup Academy: Thanks for the comparison, Tara! We appreciate it a lot!

Ally Kat: The T3 Airebrush Duo is on sale for $150 on their website. Their attachments are just like the Shark, minus the curlers. So if you want just the round and paddle brushes I highly recommend the T3. I have the Dyson too but rarely use the curlers and T3 is better for travel. Just FYI for curly/frizzy girls who want smoothing.

Kristin K: I am loving my Dyson airwrap but I wish it had a diffuser attachment Great review!! In the video it kinda looked like the shark grabbed the hair better, did it feel that way when you were using it?

MissMary6: Thanks Tara. The buttons at the bottom will be annoying but only depending on how someone holds it. Someone just said the filter comes off & I hope they're right b/c that would be a problem. Seems to do a good job, your hair looks great!

Melissa LuvsPlease: 1st world problems. I have the OG Dyson and we use that thing from hair to my husband drying parts on his guns. So great purchase. However, this has gone completely insane with Dyson and $600 curling wands. Lord have mercy if this is not crazy at this point?!?!

Debbie Otoole: Thank you for doing this video Tara, ive always wanted a dyson but it just to pricey for me. I'm in the UK so i looked on the UK Shark website and it's a different colour (black with pink trim) but it comes with a case it costs £299 which is about $330. I didn't even know this was coming out until i seen your post yesterday. Great review very helpful

Chrissy Moss: I think it's great that Dyson have, at last, now have some healthy competition. It's a shame that the Shark dryer doesn't have a choice of barrel widths and barrel lengths. Maybe they will make these options available in the future. Luckily for me, I don't use drying tools, (I just let it dry naturally), however, if I WAS to consider buying one of these, it would be the Dyson. Your hair is so very beautiful Love you so much, ⭐⭐⭐⭐

P Andriana: Thank you a lot for this video! I would like to know if shark is burning you hair more? Is it getting hotter? I read they have the same temperature control and this is what I am interested in, i have frizzy hair and hot stuff over time makes it worse. I had the Supersonic dryer and noticed a lot of improvement over time, my hair never split.

Fresh Face Beauty: Thank you for doing this video, I've been wanting to see the differences in these!

Gabby EccentricBeautyVisionaries: I have naturally curly hair so I do not use any device and I have an instant hair due every day depending on how much I fluff my curls. If I didn't I will have already purchased the Dyson since I have the dryer to diffuse my curls and I love it. I am glad other brands are coming out with comparable products at a better price. Your hair looks so long and beautiful Tara

Kerrie Rohrbacher: I'm not sure how you can say the cool shot doesn't have it...the curl is still there. Maybe the Dyson is just cooler, but doesn't need to be that cool in order to hold the curl?

Pamela H: Wow!!! Thank you for this review. I’m interested. I’ve been thinking about the Dyson but, I am a Shark girl all the way. I love my Shark vacuum. When my DIL’s Dyson broke she got a Shark because she liked mine.

Anna Thomas: Great review!! I really want the Dyson but i love that there is an affordable option..

jennifer briggs: I have been thinking of purchasing the new dyson at the Sephora sale since I'm rouge. It's just sooo expensive. I might wait and see if shark has a % off sale in the near future.

Jessica Walter: Seemed as though the shark wrapped your hair much easier than the dyson

Cee Bee: The filter does come off for cleaning on the shark. They posted a video on the shark beauty YouTube page to show how to do it.

Melds: I love the Dyson Airwrap Complete Styler. But, I like the new one, the special edition multistyler complete set coz they come in different colors.

Audra Schwarz: I already own the Airwrap so no need for the shark but I wish the dyson had larger brush head so I bought the new t3 air brush duo and I’m testing it out.

marbetka k: Thank you for comparing the two, dyson would be my choice just because I have the other one and the cool button is important for me . Could you please do a tutorial on how you take care of your extensions, how you wash them, detangle ( mine where horrible) and how you sleep with them , please

Magical Muses & Monthly Musings: I reviewed the other Shark dryer that is a Dyson competitor on my channel, and I also found the cool shot to be ineffective. It's cooler, but not the amount of cool I was looking for. I was sad when I saw this one released after I had just purchased mine, but after watching, I think the hyperair does enough for my desired curls. I'm still happy. Thanks for reviewing!

Paola flores: Great review like always Tara, it was really helpful thank you ❤️

Modestia Fashion: Thank you so much for this review. I would love to see you and Tania B Wells review the other Shark blowdryer. Colab maybe? Tania has curly hair and I’m sure a lot of us would like to see how that works for a blowout.

fifi msp: I just bought the Dyson. I also bought the third size curler which is even smaller. I have shoulder length hair and it's perfect. I think the Shark is going to work for most people. What you can't test for in this video, or in general as it's so new, is...will the Dyson last as long? People always tease me for buying Apple products but my father in law has apple products from the 90s that are still working. Nuff said.

Michelle Caudill: Terra you can pull the filter off I watched Malibu’s video on the shark and she showed how you pull the filter straight down to clean it and put it straight back just because I love and Adore you I thought I would share. You twist and pull it down and you put it straight back you can take it off to clean it

Jessica Mabry: The vent cover does come off for cleaning, you just pull straight down on it. There's a notch where the buttons are, so it doesn't go all the way around.

ann melendez: I have been watching many reviews about the shark. And it seems like you might have one that is defective. All the reviews I've seen no one has complained about the Cold shot.

Leah C: Love this review!! Would you consider selling your shark? I’m from the UK and love my dyson airwrap… however I’m coming to the states and yes as ridiculous as it sounds I need an American version of the airwrap since my dyson won’t work in American so I was considering the shark due to $$

Jennifer Chrisman: Hi Tara! Just an FYI the bottom filter panel does come off, you just have to pull harder.

zeniara: Honestly the Dyson got 2/12 min dry time with the shark and general air blowing past - I did not see you protect/add water to Dyson side for the time you used the shark … sooooo I’ll call time same

Michelle Caudill: I’m so thankful you did this Tara Lynn thank you thank you thank you I’ve been deciding whether I want the shark or the Dyson 600 bucks is a lot of money on a fixed income I’m even thinking now of holding off until shark fixes that filter problem and I think due to your review they just may do that! So thank you thank you thank you once again! You’re so adorable and I appreciate your honest reviews. Sending you and your family my love and keeping you in my prayers

Nike Samo: Tara your reviews are always great to watch ansso informative and your hair looks so great

HAW: Gosh! Didn't realize how long your hair is! So thick and pretty! I just got and LOVE the limited edition Dyson and I love it!! Maybe the Shark is hotter which isn't better IMHO.

Shanah Thomas: I may have naturally curly hair but i still want this!! Thank you for the review!

Anne Munoz: I’m so happy you did this video. I’ve been debating on a Dyson for soooo long, and last week my friend mentioned the Shark.

08emily89: I much prefer the Shark side!

J T: Knowing you love the Dyson, I was hoping you were going to compare these! Great video!

Abby Padilla: The filter comes off, you just have to pull hard

Elizabeth BC: I’m so pumped about the shark bc I cannot justify the expense of the dyson

Jocelyn Bowers: LOOVVVEE the Shark side better than the Dyson!!

Maggie Billel: hairstylist here, Shark side appears better to me. Beautiful hair!

SuperHamdim: I ordered the Shark last week, fast shipping but my package was stolen. FedEx sucks. Just wanted to say I had a good experience with customer service at Shark, FWIW.

Akanksha Arora: I’m just curious, can the dyson barrel attachments connect to the shark?

Izzy Malik: They both look nice and I’m still wanting the Dyson and Does the shark attachments go on the Dyson attachment?

Your boy jay !!!: Kept on about the cool shot not being effective....but the shark side lasted the longest...MAYBE IT DOESNT NEED TO BE SO COOL

Julie Paolucci: I think I like the Shark side better!

Shipra Rai: Can you do a review / short video on the round barrel and the smoothing brush? I never use the barrels on the dyson

Nelly: Thank you for the review, Tara

buggy627: Can you be honest tara and say if the shark *feels* as high quality as the dyson. I have an air wrap and the thing i love about dyson is they are very reliable and feel so high quality. Does the shark feel similar quality wise? I want the shark now too!

Emily Ungles: Looks like the Shark side actually has more volume to me

Peony: I think the shark filter does come off so you can clean. I saw another review where they took it off. I don’t remember what video it was since I’ve been watching so many on the shark flex style. It may have been milabu’s review

Andrea Foffe': OMG! I prefer the shark side. Dang, now I need it too

Anna .Mendez: Is the oval round brush attachment a 2.4 size or 2.7?

Leazette Green: Thank you so much. I really wanted the dyson but not the price . I think I might check out the shark

Elizabeth R: Yr reviews r so comprehensive! Tysm

Phoenix girl 11: I like the Sark side better. Thank you for the review

Rebecca Seibert: Came for the Shark review, left with a product rec for a grey root spray! Thank you!

Laura Ann Ruocco: I swear by Dyson. I have the air wrap, hair dryer and flat iron. I don’t think I would be happy with the shark. I could not deal with the buttons being so low on the tool.

Laura Adams: Random question. I’m looking to buy my first Tom Ford quad during the VIB sale. What do you suggest? I was looking at rose topaz and tiger eye. Thanks!

bnb0510: I actually think the Shark side looks better….

Crystal Lynn: The bottom does come off to clean. I watched another reviewer and it is removable.

P Andrews: I like the tighter curl

Sussanne Keith: The Shark side is prettier for sure.

Notperfecttonya: Ohhh your hair… ❤ I always admire your gorgeous hair and regardless if you’re using the Shark or the Dyson, it looks gorgeous!! I will say I noticed your bangs pretty fast! I was thinking to myself, “I haven’t noticed bangs before..” because believe me, I admire your hair EVERY video!! Thank you for this comparison!! ❤️

Penelope Fongers: Thanks for this comparison.

Allison Whisler: I have keratin bonded extensions, and I’m having so much trouble figuring out how to blend my real hair with my extended hair, I just can’t spend the money on the Dyson, I’m thinking about the shark for an option.

milomazli: OMG, dear Tara, where is that kind of spikey necklace from? its amazing!!! (appreciated the video itself as well, thank you!!)

Belva Dear: Thank you for this video!

Kathleen Coomans: The cool shot may not be cool but the curl is tighter regardless, so who cares about cool shot…
