Have you ever wished that your beautiful wig was just a bit thinner? Patti shows you how she thins a wig using thinning shears (we carry these). Patti is wearing Allure by Jon Renau in 12FS8 and she is thinning Lola by Jon Renau. www.wigsbypattispearls.com

Hi guys today we're going to show you how to spin a heater, how to thin your wig and how to bend it properly. This is the same way that we had just detangles a little while ago on another instructional video, and now I combed it all and we're going to do just one side, and then you can see what the other side. So many of you will pick it out of the website. Are you'll lie here or buy it there, and it looks so good on the website and it looks so good in the girl the other day in the restaurant. You put it on you, it looks like you got a helmet on your head, that's because it's too thick, you want it to go even once like this, but I've totaled the heck out of this allure, but it still goes along the plane of my head, even Though it's kind of crazy, so we want to do the same with this long one. This is called Lola and it's one of the thicker rings by John Amanda is the other thick ring by John. You want thick hair, so what we're going to do is zigzag at the part, zigzag zigzag, and this much right here that I combed up from the part. Here'S the part, this part is never going to be thin and I'll. Tell you why? Because if you kind of mess up or if you don't get the thinning, shears and close as you would like to little hairs are going to stick up well if they do this layer cover them up. So this is a real, important layer. This is our cover up layer, so you're going to take a clip ten it over here, so it doesn't get in your way at all. Now I'm going to take the comb again. Take my thinning the shears and I always like to zigzag, because I don't want you to get the tiger, stripes and so forth, and so on. So I've got my good hair head zigzag zigzag zigzag here it is here it is now. I take my comb and I comb it up straight now see how it's kind of zigzags guys I don't have a straight part. Now. What I'm going to do is combed. It see how I'm holding it straight up, so I can see exactly what I'm doing. Then. I'M gon na take the sitting shoes, the thinning shears. I want you to turn it around so that the notched part this part here is on the base of the wig, and I want to do a little bit at a time. I'Ll do this on the side and I push push pull this up. Tight push clip, see how it's coming out see it all right now push push and I don't push push. I only do three and then I take my big comb gently comb. It out. Whoo, look at all that hair we got out just by using that little fitting. Now, I'm going to take my clip lean it over to my good side and clip it down. Now, I'm going to do it again, zigzag zigzag, zadeh, pull it down, pull it up. Get a little more here, comb it up, never straight up what you've been scared to death and then take your thinning shears turn them over. The knot. Side goes against the cap of the wig one. Two three: I'm pushing down hard now one two, three snap, one, two, three one, two: three, that's it now. I find it easier to do each row as you go along. You can just throw it over like that, but then you've got this big mess. It'S easier to take the hair out one layer at a time, and then you don't end up with a huge tangled mess. Lay it over. You could take the same, clip clip it now we're going down again, don't get scared! You know you can't you can't do anything but screw it up, but then you know you can't it like a college credit. Well, you screwed this one up when you starting this, try to use an old wing. Okay, I've got it up pulling it up. I turn my scissors over so that they're doing it wrong like that, and I push it down one go here: push it down one over here, one they get that one set aside. I don't want you to do any more than one, because trust me, you can get really too thin way too fast and got ahead and show me how to grow this back here. So we want to be a little careful. Oh flip it over. You see the hair a-flying, we're almost done with this side now and show you what it looks like zigzag, zigzag zigzag. Take the comb helmet up now we're down into the west of the body of the wig. Now the model top be careful not to cut the work being cat down go. How do I breathe in air guys? This is good yeah. I think that feel thin enough if I thought that that still felt sick. I go down here to the bottom and I would do another row and I'll just do that because you down here at the nape okay, you hold it now you're going to hold it straight out, because the other was going like that and you want to get In right to the base, I'm going to hit that one down there debate all right guys, let's see how much hair it just take out a lot of hairs. Amazing see how much easier it is to comb it out when you just do each rows and having a huge mess. You let that world down get net throwdown next next whole net York, I'm combing it with this smaller cone, then I'll. Take my good piece that we haven't been on it out: comb it over and see if you can have a difference, I'm going to show you the tile here we come out, but now, when you put it on so you've got it up here at the top. So it's instead of poking out like that, it's going to lay flat against your hand, how lovely is that have a great day enjoy singing

terilincoln: Patti you are an artist and you have the most lovely demeanor and voice. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. The wig world has been a tough one to navigate especially for those of us who have to wear wigs. Thank you♥️

SWEETROSE SINGS: Thank you so much Patti for this informative video. A new wig arrived yesterday and it looked like Little Orphan Annie..I never so so much hair and curls, not light and thinned out like the picture of the wig was. So..got me some thinning shears and went right to it and thinned the entire front. What a big difference! Now I can wear it and not just stick it back in the wig box and forget about it. Bless you for the time you spend in helping others!

Becca M: I am so glad I found this video, I have watched several other ways of thinning wigs, the twist and snip method, the just cut out complete rows of hair at the cap method and some others but this one is by far the best method!! I like my wig so much more now that I have thinned with this method. And by thinning it the wig has a much more natural movement to it!! Thank you so much!

Thanks for teaching us beginners that you can be comfortable with a wig and not afraid to work with it. Thanks for all you do!

Marisa Royal: Amazing tutorial and video. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

Ashlee Beck: I don't think I've ever made a comment on YouTube but I just have to for this video! I am a new wig wearer, mine fell out due to an autoimmune response. I'm just now starting to find wigs to be 'fun' but I have a smaller head (but not small enough to be petite) and my bio hair was very thin and fine, so my Jon Renau Miranda wig is beautiful but very 'bulky' and unnatural feeling. I've watched several videos but this one was by far the best. Also you're just a joy; I feel like you're a bit of a kindred spirit. So thank you so much kind stranger :)

Peach: Thank you so much for this! I was wondering if your web site ever does promotions like some of the other big sites. I'd much rather buy from you as a thank you for all of your videos like this one that are so helpful.

Peaceful Mind: Wigs by Patti's Pearls - Thank you so much for the many informative vlogs about wigs. I'm a recent user of wig. I have a question if u may, can I thin the any style of wigs or just some? I've heard from other vlogger that not all wigs can be thin because it depends to the wig style. I own this Charlie wig by Paula Young... Playful, shag-inspired long wig with feathery, flicked layers, is this the type of wig that is safe to thin or not? Please help! I do not want to ruin this expensive wig and lose the style after deciding to thin it. However, I can't stand wearing a wig "that looks like I am wearing a helmet"... exactly just like what you described! Thank you for ur time! :)

ShihtzuMom: You are a beautiful lady! The wig u have on is so natural and the style is perfect on you!

Linda Burniac: Great instructional video. Is there any chance you can thin a curlier wig like editors pick? Thank you

K Blit: Hi Patti, thanks for your informative videos. Know this is an older video but would you be able to identify the wig and color directly behind you that cannot be seen when you have your back to the wall & are facing the camera but comes into almost full view to the right (looking at the video) of the canvas block Lola is on when you move to the left side? It's like a really light strawberry tinged brown bob and also the wig and color immediately to the right of that one (blond side part few inches longer with with beach waves)? Thanks so much.

tmichica: Thank you sooo much. My Halloween wig looks like a helmet!

Tammy Brock: Hi Patti. Your just the sweetest person. Love watching you.

Latonya Summers: one look at Patti and I knew I was in the right place. Thank you Patti!

Chanel555 Addict: I love this video soooo helpful

allyson claus: You are awesome Patti Im so happy my husband found your videos.I'm a new wig wearer , i have a wig that seems like real hair in the back and a mix on top and front. 2 problems Im having is from my ears up it has perma tease and I look like the top of my head is to big. Also the wig cap is to long it goes almost down to my collar. Do you have any videos on how to fix these problems?

Janet Ansel: Love love your training videos

Grazyna Ostaszewska: Thank you for your help . I am so glad i found this video

MAFER SP VIDEOS: Love it ! Thanks

Jane Wood Branam: You are such as good teacher

Vickie: Thank you so much. Will you please do a video on how to style Allure and Allure Elite? Do you cut yours or is it straight from the box. It is beautiful on you!

Lili White World: Ruined two good wigs trying to thin them. I think I zigged when I should have zagged - among other things - like rushing, and getting way too enthusiastic and careless- :) Great demo!

Pam Hamilton: “FANTASTIC” Nothing beats EXPERIENCES ‼️ Thank You

Kika Orozco: I love wigs ❤️

Ana Marcondes: Amazing!!! Thank you

Dirbet Rod: Lovely, can we do the same on a shorter wig?

Sandi Newton: How thick was the section you first parted to cut? The top section you parted off was shown from the side so the width of the section was visible.

Gina Shaw: Ty you. Your technic is th only one I've watched that i feel confident in doing!

Barb D: if your thinning sheers don't have a flat edge then what can you do?

Haus of Pretty: Came for the wig thinning. Staying for the ASMR

Debbie Schluter: The wig I bought is fine except on top. It doesn't have a part so I'm not sure just how to or where to start thinning it. I'm new at this, so I'm totally in the dark. I bought a pair of thinning shears so I'm ready. :-)

ChooseHappy Mc: Is there a way to “thin” my thighs?? Teehee. Great teaching video. Thanks for all your work!!!

DL Kennedy: You are such a sweetheart. Thanks for funny, charming lesson.

sherry paglen: Patty, I love your demos, what is the wig you have on in this video, I love it. Is it light density at all?

jill552: Patti, you look fabulous in Allure.

Tracey Griffiths: Thank yougoing to try this ' have a awesome day

Nissa Lorraine: Thank you ❤️

BeachN Origional: OMG! It looked too thin to begin with. It is so hard to find a straight wig with enough hair in it and you cutting it out? I thought when you brushed a wig that it stretches the fibers and causes it to be freezy really quick??

Maryann Towndsend: Thanks Patti will you please show how to trim a Reese wig that is too floppy

Karen Pontarelli: LOL Patti, God hasn’t shown me how to grow my own hair either! Hope you are well.

Louise Rosefield: The singing is so sweet, i have a cheap amazon wig which looks so ..yeah. I am going to thin that thing out. It has a fringe as well which needs shortening. An attempt was made to make the middle part look real, but its to uniform. I might get the rit dyemore on the ends .

avinia kennedy: Thank you!!!!

shelby chancellor: You're so sweet I'd love to take a class if you were the teacher!!

Susan Gardner: Helpful~

Dottie Free: I have a petite head and small face. Is it no surprise then that the wig I bought is way too full and poofy, even tho at the boutique they 'thinned' it a little. I already removed two rows of wefts but still the wig is so big I feel like my face is hidden somewhere in all that hair. I'm going to try your technique. Wish me luck and a little skill too!

Lozza P: Patti your a legend” here it is here is it” hahaahahahha
