This is Part II of my first attempt at roller setting my naturally curly hair. For more info, visit http://glorycrown.blogspot.com/2009/07...

Hey everyone, I'm back, I've been sitting under the dryer for thirty minutes and this piece just became unraveled, but I got up out the dryer thirty minutes into it. So I just wanted to see how my hair was filling to gauge. How much longer have to sit under and this part feels dry like I said I didn't take it out - it just fell out, but, as you can see, it's curled and I said it feels dry. For the most part, my hair feels pretty dry that dryer ooh a dryer is hot. I have it on medium heat setting. Mine goes up too high. I think I have a cool shot, low, medium high and I've been sitting under for thirty minutes on medium setting, and one thing I can definitely say is when you have these metal clips, try to get them off of your forehead, or else you will be burning Because you know the metal is a conduit of heat, so it'll heat up, but just so just right here I was irritated. I have to keep moving these out the way they were getting hot but um, and it's already hot it's a hot day so sitting out of the dryer, it's kind of defeating the purpose if I'm gon na be sweating. So that's another reason why I'm taking a break thirty minutes into it, but, like I said for the most part, my hair feels dry and I think using a lot of rollers helps, I feel just a slight amount of dampness towards the front. So what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na go sit back into the dryer for about fifteen minutes and then I'll come back. Hey everyone! I'M back and I lied. I said I was gon na sit on the dryer for 15 minutes. I always sat on the dryer for 10, more minutes because I couldn't take it. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and spray. My hair, with this soft and beautiful ultimate protection oil sheen conditioning spray that is enriched with jojoba and almond oils - we're going to shake this up. Okay, all right! So now I'm gon na proceed to take my rollers out. Okay, so, as you can see, I've taken all my rollers out and my hair is definitely dry, which I'm glad about you. I don't know how well you can see it, but my roots are still crinkly so which I figure, because I could tell when I was rolling my hair, that it wasn't enough tension to straighten out the roots, but I'm not really tripping. I don't know how I feel about the edges when I actually finger comb through this to get my style that I want, but when I flat out of my hair and work out, my roots get lifted, but my hair still looks good enough to rock. So I'm not really stressing off of having super straight roots and then a lot of times. My bangs will cover it anyway, but I don't know how this is gon na turn out. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and put my makeup on and then come back and then really style it the way I want so I'm just going to take these clips and clip it about the way for now. So I air dry for an hour and you know I said I was getting my nails. I was doing my nails and watching TV, so air dry for an hour sat in the dryer for 30 minutes, took a quick pizza break and then sat back under the dryer for of 10 minutes and remember it took me 30 minutes just to roll my hair. So what is that? That'S the good two hours to our hairstyle, okay, lovely divas! I am back and thank God for makeup huh. So I got my makeup done, I'm going out tonight and I'm so glad this didn't take forever. So now what I'm gon na start doing is kind of shaping my hair. Although this this elastic kewpie stuff, said that uh is alcohol-free, my hair best feel slightly slightly crispy, but um, not too bad. I haven't sprayed any more oil sheen I'll, probably do that once I finish finger combing through this, but I'm just got a finger comb through it. I will say this. My roots definitely aren't straight, and I said that before, but when I looked at, you can see some of the frizziness like in this area, although you can see it but I'll post pictures. I don't know how you see it, but if you are very concerned about your roots being straight, then maybe flat ironing it would be an option. I know some ladies actually blow dry their roots once a roller said it I mean to me we kind of be defeating the purpose, because the point is to do an alternative that requires less heat and, like I said, I'm not really trippin off of my roots. Being super straight as long as my edges aren't looking crazy all this I'm not trippin off of, and actually I feel like this style may even look better as the days go on, because when I set my hair at night, you know I'll be pulling it into A ponytail to Roller set it like I normally do and that might help smooth out some of the roots. I don't know but anyway, I said: I'm just gon na go ahead and finger comb through this, and I don't know how look at my bangs do. This part take my comb and man. I'M ant take a curling iron to my bangs cuz. I am going out at night. Y'All, look crazy, but uh. It'S definitely curled, like I said I may have to these are my bangs. I think I may have to work that out with a curling iron, so yeah, I'm gon na plug in my curling iron and then come back okay, so my curling iron is heated up, I'm going to be using my one and only ceramic silk thermal protection spray. I look like a black Charlie's Angels or somebody's writing down this. Is that happening for my bangs, so I'm going to definitely go ahead and, like I said, straighten this out and bump the ends under. As you see, I'm definitely due for a trim and a cut for my bangs. My bangs need to be cut, so I'm go ahead and shake this up and, like I said before, you don't want to spray too much of this, because this is like this. Stuff comes out like pure liquid, so you just want to be careful and use that use this. For my bangs, I'm going to take my large barrel, curling iron by Revlon that as close as possible and drag down, I think I'll go ahead and straighten this part out too so I'll spray a little bit more. Like I said, as you can see, I definitely need to cut my bangs. It'S been probably good, been six or seven weeks since I've straightened my hair and it's definitely been at least maybe 12 to 14 weeks since I cut or trimmed it. So you definitely do for both and I forgot to mention if my voice sounds funny. It'S because I have a cold, I'm bad with a cold for the last few days or so out ahead. Hey we should head it that one out, okay, folks, I'm gon na, keep it as it is. It may look crazy, but I know: what's gon na fall specially as the night progresses and I'll probably spray some more of this, but I'm gon na. Do it off camera because I don't want to do it in this enclosed space, but hope you like this tutorial. This is my first roller set as a natural. I definitely think I'll do it again. Hopefully, as time goes on I'll get better at it, so it won't take me 30 minutes to just roller set it, and this is poufy anyway, but anyway, so yeah, that's it! Folks, like I said, I don't know how you'll feel about this, because your roots aren't gon na, be that straight coz. You know I just couldn't get as much attention as I want it, but I'm not sure, pin so. Okay, I'm gon na post pictures and I will see you next time I party through my hair, so you could see that my roots are not straight I'll need to apply more tension next time. I went dancing that night and sweated out my hair, but I was able to rock this fabulous bantu knot out in subsequent days, and here are more pics of my roller set, considering that it was the first time trying it on natural hair. It wasn't so bad see you next time.

wondermom2: D, you did a great job! I've just started rollersetting my hair also & it does take time to get it done right and quickly. I would recommend that you use smaller curlers near the nape & having sopping wet hair does wonders for keeping tension on the hair so that the roots are straighter. BuildableBeauty has a great tut on rollersetting you should see. She's continually wetting her hair throughout the process. I promise it works. Also while the dryer is not fun it's a necessary evil!!

transformation724: It came out perfect! Beautiful! I can't wait to start my natural journey.

it's kitty×D: This is really cool! I'd never thought of using rollers on my natural hair before and I've been struggling with how to style it. A million thanks <3

kimmaytube: i loved it. Look perfectly fine to me! This is a great alternative for those of us who fear the flat iron! And your bantu knot out was fly too. Thanks for sharing this.

darcey derosa: I love this video! I will be attempting this in the winter. This is just gorgeous!

LAS Director1: I started to give up on this journey - transitioning from relaxed to natural. I just hit the 2month mark (no perm) & have been receiving so much criticism from friends n family which is a bit discouraging. I started praying to really look into whether I should go through with this or not, and just sat down and came across your videos and they give me so much hope and encouragement! I am going today to get my first sew-in because I can't manage the two hair types. Thanks so much! God Bless!

kimkritikal: You look very glamourous, this style is beautiful!! I am definitely wanting to try this look, I have recently started by relaxed to natural transition and I have yet to try a roller set, I'm very excited!!

angelstrawberry1984: it looks gorgeous! you did a great job.

351528: You are gorgeous and so is your hair! I wish I knew about this alternative (to chemical relaxers) when I was natural. But now I know so I'll definitely try it when I go natural again.

ShamoraShamora: Well, I have a suggestion. I think you should roll them in reverse direction so that the roller is on top of your roots as opposed to the roots being on top of the roller. It helps out in several ways, it smooths the roots better & it also prevent those annoying parts that take forever to dissappear in your scalp

NanTheGoldChild: I love the results, I am going to try this on my daughter's hair. I am trying to get us both off the creamy crack!! We havnt permed in about 6 months now!!

randb247: Your hair came out great!!! I will try this style so that I'll have other options besides twist-outs. I love your videos, by the way.

Dylansmommy28: Cute! I love the bantu knot out! The roller wrap looked great except for the roots. I may have to try this with the clamped rollers because Im not good with the clips either. Great vid!

DPrincess28: I'm so glad you've decided to hang in there! Don't worry, things will get better over time. Good luck to you! XOXO

Naundi P: gorgeous! watching your videos makes me want to go natural. your hair is really pretty.

darcey derosa: I looks great! Thank you for showing us how to do it!

GullahGyal: Your hair came out really well. I was thinking of trying a rollerset as well. Glad you mentioned the 72piece set, I didn't know they even made those. It'll save money in the long run rather than buying that stuff indivdually. Great look, hope you had a great night=)

it's kitty×D: The thicker your hair is the larger the rollers, and the smaller the sections, you'll have to use. It also helps to use a gel (like Eco Styler) or a thick setting lotion. Don't overdo it with either of them or you'll have flakes.

ikaved devaki: Love it! Your hair looks fabulous!

MsTommieg: Your rollerset is too cute! I can't wait until my hair grow long so i can do something like this

DPrincess28: Thanks! It's no different than what you saw in my bun out tutorial.

LexiWithTheCurls: Your rollerset came out beautifully!

amayou1: Sooooo glad I found your video. I'm natural and I've been looking for new styles to try but most of the other naturals have type 4 hair and the styles don't look the same on my hair (I have combination 3a/3c hair). Thank you so much for your videos :-)

Fit Clean Wellness: thanks so much for sharing your products and techniques. ... with the roller set i find that it helps to put the clips on your scalp to attain the best tension and to prevent crease marks as well. but it looks really nice! thanks again!

mochabeauty: Do you air dry with the rollers in? Also, please do a makeup tutorial! Your makeup is always flawless!

Margaret McKie: Gorgeous! I can't wait to for my hair to grow...

EmileeArsenic: if you alternate between hot and cold air under the dryer, it'll take a bit longer to dry, but it will be way shinier and you won't feel like you're baking & you'll be able to feel if it's dry or not when the cool air hits the water :)

CatEyedQT: Absolutely gorgeous!

maysek: You look gorgeous with the curls and the makeup :) I hope u had fun

Tiffany S: less heat is key for us natural gals!!! thanks for the tips. your eye make- up is beautiful.

Christine Yarde: Girl your beautiful hair looks wonderful!

Trudy465: it looks really nice, I been thinking about doing that myself.

W Washington: Thanks for the tutorial.. Your hair do looks GREAT. I have to practice roller setting on my natural hair, also! Peace. :-)

Courtney Christ: wow that came out really good. looks like you just came out the shop. im a fan, and thanks i will be trying this on my natural hair!

Simplistically Digital: It came it looking soooo pretty!

metalumbrella: yay! :) i think i'm going to rollerset my hair now. it looks really cute on you :)

calisfinest261: absolutely beautiful!!! i wouldn't trip on the roots being straight, it's all apart of being a natural lady.....

ulala9898: Love the swoop at the front...looks glamorous! I liked this vid! :)

ChanaBanana: Nooooo! Don't cut them [the bangs!] They are beautiful as is! Love the hair girlie! It came out awesome!

G'anecia Baker: Your hair is cute and you look pretty! Oh and I love love love that Soft and Beautiful oil sheen, it works wonders on my hair lol

DPrincess28: Thank you sweetie! I did :) XOXO

TrinaBoo4Life: I like the look I am looking forward to trying this style. Thanks

LoveMyUnusual: @DPrincess28 Awesome job :D I've been looking for an alternative style w/o heat so this'll come in handy. Thanks also for taking pics of your hair a few days later, b/c the aftermath is equally important :D

AnnaMaeBullock: I liked the roller set bangs. It was a vibrant, youthful look that added so much more "wow" factor just because it was uncontrived and less diva-fied. You should test drive the roller set bangs when you're only doing errands and watch the compliments pile up. But it still turned out very nice overall.

Jessica TheBest: Very cute. Thanks for the tips!

Solange da silva leal: você está de parabens ficou lindo, bjos do brasil

Taylor Blais: Oh! Your hair looks beautiful like that!! <3

DPrincess28: Thank you ladies for all your wonderful comments!

brandon howard: Girl your hair looks great and that bang is a good look for you!

Wan Smith: very nice love it...you did a great job

DPrincess28: Good luck :-). I'm sure it'll turn out fabulously! XOXO

peach puff: this style looks great on you!!

SnapshotNTime84: It turned out great. You can go to Sally Beauty Supply and get "Wrap it Styling Strips" made by Famis to wrap around your head and over your ears so you won't burn under the dryer. Stylists and barbers use it. You know the white paper-like strip they stretch and wrap around your head.

darcey derosa: I wonder if I can do this as a weekly style when I BC. This is a great video!

Doses of Clarity: That's a beautiful style. I think i'll try it.

DPrincess28: The same dryer that is featured in Part I of my How I go From Curly to Straight video.

geetmyster: It looks very nice!!!

Doses of Clarity: You should try using the regular clamp rollers in the back. They do a good job at taming the roots. Although they do leave a bump, its not noticeable in the back.

rena mason: girl you look fine with it ,you can rock the curly bangs .....you look good!

Chiari Johnson: Your hair looks fantastic...love the makeup...

kkm: "Natural" usually means not chemically altering your hair texture. Hair color isn't used to alter your hair texture, just your hair color. Lots of women with natural hair dye their hair, including me.

AgentDouble Oh Soul !!: Stunning! Fabulous! Awesome!

Shana: You are gorgeous and your hair is amazing!

1SimplYounique: Great results!

HoneyJazz29: Beautiful!!!

DPrincess28: Oh, okay! I saw a lady do that before too, but I had no idea why. That does seem like it would help out a lot though in straightening the roots. Perhaps I'll give it a try, but I won't pull the hair too tight though :). Thanks!

ddspeaks: looks very nice =)!

DPrincess28: Aww, thanks girl, and yes, keep moving away from the creamy crack! :-) XOXO

S. Blackwolf: I gotta say that looks really good. You're gorgeous!

MsAsheeraA: You did a beautiful job, but I do have a question ....can you do the same thing with caruso steam rollers? I was considering purchasing some and I thought would be a great style to do with them and they would add moister to the hair.

DPrincess28: Thank you so much! XOXO

Weena HairStylist: Its lovely!!

Leah McQueen: Your roller set turned out very pretty. Next time you roller set you should roll your up instead of under. This will allow you to put more tention on your roots with out having to pull your rollers real tight

jaza213: Loves it!!!

janila jones: Your hair is really pretty; however, most oil sheens contains alcohol which dries your hair out so check to seeif it has alcohol in it. it will say Isopropyl. Elasta QP is Design Silk is really good and has Vitamin A, B2, C-F, h k. It will give your hair a nice shine.

DPrincess28: Thanks! It's dye. Santa Fe Bronze by Silk Elements to be exact. XOXO

DPrincess28: Thanks for the tip!

PeacefulPrime: Hey d is that a rinse or a dye in the front part of your hair I love your hair btw it is soooo pretty and healthy!!!

ESJ: i like how your hair came out it came out nice but usually if you want to secure the roller on the head more tightly you should buy more of the metal clips so you can put two clips to a roller and it will stay more better. just a suggestion but it work out for you

Latonia H: Great Video!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

Unlimited Resales: Very pretty!

Akiah Dunlap: I was kinda aprehensive watching the first one but i dont understand ITS BEAUTIFULL you looked fustrated with it but its really nice iam 15 with naturally wavy hair so iam going to ask my mom to do this on mine thanks for the idea:)

kthename08: love it, love it, love it!

Ashley✨: wow beautiful!

Steffmd25: Your hair might be a lil "crispy" because you used LOTS of product. When I roller set, I usually do about 2 - 3 pumps per section. It looks good, and makeup is pretty :)

DPrincess28: Thanks, glad you like it!

NancysKitchenProducts: the curly bangs looked SOOOO cute.!

DPrincess28: Thanks hun!

DPrincess28: Thanks hun!

DPrincess28: Thanks hun!

Hydra Bar Salon: It looked cute on you. Something to can try is a silk wrap if you want it straight without applying direct heat. You would roller set it and then wrap it and put saran wrap on it. It's comes out silky and straight.

theHEALER: WOW looks really good

Nick Nack: air drying your hair first could've had something to do with the puffy roots. You really want to get the heat on it as soon as possible while it's still really wet.

DPrincess28: Thank you! XOXO

Bbrave17: It is soooooo cute and you are such a beautiful girl. i stil find it hard to believe that your hair is all natural!...Good job!

Jazmine Williams: i love it!

DPrincess28: Thanks! The makeup tuts are on my blog.

chellybaby: Ur makeup is flawless!

beautii24: In the morning, I'm going to buy some rollers so that I can try this!

lovennappiness: Loved it!!!!.... =)
