What'S going on YouTube Stephen, a salon guy here and in today's video I'm going to be showing you guys how to create a wispy, bang or fringe? Now I have some very popular videos on bangs, but you can check out just type in the salon. Guy fringe, a salon guy bangs, whatever and you'll, see there there's a lot of videos out there about that. But let's talk about whisk, the word wispy. So to me the word wispy in my experience and a stylist means you know a bit on the thinner side or very light right, very, very light. So it just kind of wisps like that. So to me right off the bat when somebody wants wispy things or wispy fringe, I would say to myself: okay, that means that they just want something so fine and so thin that you know it barely even covers anything and, and then it's going to the rest Of the hairstyle is going to layover that so you know it's very wispy now, as you can see here, this comes into play all the time, so this video is gon na be definitely a tutorial where I'm cutting them, but I'm also gon na be sharing. My experience as a stylist, so you guys are aware you know if wispy bangs are even right for you or not because it may, it may not work. So, as you can see here, this is starting to split a little bit now, if you have any sort of callek or any sort of you know something going on here or a part natural part where it wants to make the hair split. That'S gon na be a problem alright, because if the hair section is not thick enough to weigh or cover that down, then you may have an issue. Yes, you may be able to get away with it with blow drying the hair, but you really need to know how to work the hair in order to get them to be very, very straight and and not to split. So the next thing you can do is, you know again, maybe take a different type of section right, so we go a little bit higher in through that side and then a little bit higher here, comb that down and we create kind of like you know, a New subsection here so that they're gon na be heavier more towards the front and it's still gon na be you know wispy so to me, wispy just means a finer kind of amount of hair or less amount of hair. Okay. So, let's section this off and let's start cutting some bangs and let's see how they look - I'm gon na lock the comb in and I'm gon na use the fine teeth of the comb, because I do want this to be a bit more of a solid section. I don't want any hairs kind of drifting off. I also I'm going to bring us down here to make them a bit longer like so and with the comb holding the hair in place. I'M literally just gon na cut straight across and look what we've done. You'Ve created a nice fringe area, so now what we need to do is start to make them a bit more wispy. Now what I would suggest after this is, I always like to take the hair up and when you think of wispy bangs, what's it doing it's removing weight, it's removing weight so like making it wispy. That'S meaning means to me: there's not a lot of weight through it, it's layered, so you got to make sure that you're layering the bangs and the best way that I do it is after you have the established base, then I'll go and I'll comb. The hair straight up like this I'll comb, my hair straight up and now what I'm going to do. Let me just lower the head now. What I'm going to do is I'm going to create some more layering and wisp eNOS, meaning I'm removing some of the excess heaviness in the fringe. So I'm going to point cut like this again. This is something that you know us as professionals do. If you, you know, a lot of people want to do this at themselves at home. That'S fine, but you could see I'm removing some of the weight and it's making it wispier again. This was done on dry hair. If I, if I did wet this and blow-dry it into into shape here, it would probably lay a little bit differently, but what's happening, as you can see, is they're becoming very, very wispy. So when it comes to, like I mentioned before the word most people just think of it, as you know not so heavy right, that's really the key is not so heavy. So how much can you make bangs wispy? You know I mean like you, can only go so so much, but let's take a look and see what kind of options we have so say we cut this right and someone's like. Oh it's still a bit too heavy. It'S still too. You know I don't. I don't like it it's not wispy enough. Well, then, we have to start removing a lot more weight and that's gon na change up the whole style even more. So what I do is I'll. Take my thinning, shears right here. My the things. Yours again do this. Only if you're experienced, but what I'll start to do is I'll start to work on the ends. First, because you want to make the hair look thinner towards the ends and the middle of the hair, not at the scalp. You don't ever want to go in here and cut at the scalp, because you don't want to make yourself look like you know: you're losing your hair. So what I'm doing is I'm actually just working down towards the mid shaft of the hair towards the ends, and that is what's making it look a bit wispier and you could feel it too. You can even hold the hair straight out, like this again, be very, very careful not to cut your hands, but here is what we're removing all the weight. As you can see, let's turn this sideways here here. I'M cutting and cutting cutting, and this is all just removing that excess weight and through here, to make everything a bit more wispy. So I just want to show you guys what the hair looks like when it's wet. Okay, now, as you can see, it looks pretty wispy already when the hair is wet. I mean look at these look at that. That'S kind of what you're looking for, but I think it's it's really hard to do this when the hair is fully fully dry. So that's why I wanted to wet this so now that we have it. We could see that we have some texture going on, let's blow dry them and then up there if they need any more detailing, then we'll do it. Alright, so a quick little tip when blow-drying, fringe or bangs. What I like to do is I like to, for the most part, something like this. I don't even use a brush. I just let the blow-dryer do all the work and I kind of forced a hair straight down with the blow-dryer, and I use my fingers, but that's the best way for me to get a result like this. I got to say these will pretty wispy to me. I don't know how much whisper you can get, but let's take a look and see so sometimes people want wispy banks. They want to be able to kind of open the forehead up a bit more like this and kind of take the corners and spread them out. Like this - and you know, I think this came out pretty darn good. That was a time to do any sort of detailing work. So if you do see any pieces that may be a bit longer like this little corner in through here you know, then you can go ahead and do that. But that's why I like to do this dry at first. You know, and then, if it gets a little too out of control, then we can go in and make them a bit wispier. So I hope that this really helped you guys out. But you know: whispy really comes down to the amount of hair that you're seeing in the front, as you can see here, alright. So once we have that solid base, you can kind of take the hair and look at that to me. I don't think it gets any wispier the net. Kristina L Allen: I love these videos. I've been cutting my own hair for about 30 years. I have two carlics or however you spell it, on both side, but I also have the "Grand Canyon" going on up on my forehead, so I have to cover it with my wispy bangs. I'm looking for something different, because my children have never seen me in different hair. Pretty bad, huh? Thanks so much.

Jules Servant of Jesus: Looks great! I have a question. What is the difference in using thinning shears verses a razor?

Franny P.: It's pretty wispy but I hope he included some side pieces like a short layer to incorporate the bangs and make look connected to the rest of the hair.

Jo ann Wheeler: Great wisby bang demo, looks good

Me: Why is a fringe named a bang? I tried that in Australia and got funny looks. Also I did mine. The length is still around. I think I cut up a little high. I'm still happy. It freshened up my look. It's not bald . It's wispy at ends deeper up top.

valen v: Hello dude please Could you do the haircut that joao Félix uses. The atlético madrid soccer player

Kiki: Liked them BEST, when They were WET and More Separated. Also, Angled and a Lil' Longer, On Each Side of the Bang, instead of Straight-Across.

Michael KHAN: Do Shah Rukh Khan’s hair please!

Jack Wilson: Please can you do a James Gordon from Gotham season 2
