How To Cut Your Kids Bangs!

Hello I am your Online Stylist Dayna Cakebread. This Video will show you how to cut your kids bang with easy. DIY: You can even cut your own bangs with the same techniques.

Note: Always stand infront of your child when cutting so that both sides are even. Crooked head = crooked bangs! :) I recommend getting HAIR scissors from a public beauty supply. Paper scissor are too thick and nail scissors are too rough. Just invest in hair scissors and keep them clean after cutting. I look forward to hearing about your success!

Hello, so today we're going to be showing you an actual Bing type, the best trick. The best trick is to be able to cut the inside shorter to longer. So, by doing this, you can see where her part line is starting through here. What you want to do is you want to cut. You want to just kind of pull out the bags and make sure that you don't take any hair from this section of the hair, so make sure that that stuff is kind of pulled away, and it's best to actually have you know clips to hold the hair Back so what we're going to do is just pull out her fringe area. Only, let's see how long they are and we're going to pull them back. So what you want to do is now that you've got the full bang out. You want to make sure that you can cut it. You can kind of slice it in half taking half of the fringe and pulling this back for protection in case you get too short here. You can use these as the second layer, so we're going to pull them back and as we're going to do this, we're going to pull these pieces here into the middle. When you're doing this, you need to stand in front of your child and pinch. It like like this, and you can see that this part is actually pulling in a little bit further from either side. The center parts gon na be a little bit shorter. So what we're going to do is you're going to be able to take where the link that you want her hair actually is hitting the middle here. So if I want to have it sitting a little bit at the eyebrows or above I can start from there. What'S going to happen, is it's going to be shorter here and longer out to the side so as you're pulling this in nice and smooth, instead of going across the hair you're actually going to go into the hair without cutting your fingers? You want to make sure that you're pulling back as you're cutting so that you're not cutting your fingers. So, as I'm doing this, I know that I want to take this much off, so this is what we're going to do, we're going to pinch and we're going to cut that bottom stuff off and by doing that, we'll be able to get sort of that smoothness From the middle to the ends and as I pull them out, you can see that they're a little shorter here and a little longer to the edges. And when you see that they're not as perfect, then you can actually pull them straight down. And then just pick up the extra little bits once you've gotten a really great frame, then you can actually just continue your action of cutting from the middle out. So again pull forward pull down. You can. If you look underneath, you can see where I cut last right here. So that's where you want to pull your fingers down to and lightly just cut some of those tips and then, as you, pull just a little extra bits off to the side, just to get them the actual amount, then just kind of pull off. You can also keep it straight down if you want more of a heavier line and just clip the very very corners off. If you want to layer, your child's hair, all you have to do is pick it up. Instead of laying it downwards you're going to pick it up and pull it all into the middle and cut the little corner up, which is this little corner here and you're not going to cut it as short as this, but you're just going to soften it, so That when it lays down you're going to have some natural little volume, so then it's going to be a little softer just like that, and so, if you need to pick up a little bit more, you can pinch this in the middle. Bring it forward grab some of these little pieces and just give a little bit of just to get it a little bit shorter in the middle. If you want to and that's how you give your basic sort of bang trim for your child, you

Laura Hanson: I love when the little girl goes cross-eyed looking at the scissors!!! LOL!

Ruthie S: Anyone else watching this during corona trying to figure out how to cut their kid's hair?!

ABCLMN16: Thank you so much!! My 3-year old looks adorable with bangs, but her hair grows so fast that it would be a pain to have to take her to the hair salon every 2 weeks. I've been known to trim bangs way too short in the past, so most of the time they end up still slightly in her eyes because I err on the side of caution now. This video helped SO much. Her hair no longer screams "Mommy cut my bangs!" :)

Renee Shaw: thank you! This was perfect for me tonight and I've always been too chicken to trim my daughter's bangs (10 and 7!) It worked beautifully on my 7 yr old.

Losa: Thank you so much! I just did my 4yr old daughters bangs. We've never cut her hair before and she likes to run around with it down so it would always get in her face and she would always have to move it out of her way lol . Now she can run around free as a bee(: Thanks! :)

KayTea: My mum used to cut my fringe as a little girl, and she made my fringe nice and thick since where she sectioned the fringe from was further back. Your child could look a lot nicer If you gave her a thicker fringe, instead she has this sparse skinny looking fringe, that gives off the look she has really thin hair when really she doesn't.
