Hello, everybody, as you can see today, my video is all about cutting baby bangs and I am going to show you how I do it. I have a little bit of a different technique. I actually use Clippers instead of scissors and I feel like it gives me more of a blunt line and, as you can also probably tell I am very sick, so I'm trying to project for you guys um, but I'm talking through some laryngitis. So hopefully you can hear and understand everything that I say this is actually really really easy. A lot of you guys have asked me how I do it and there's really not a huge trick to it. I think most of what is in it is using clippers versus scissors, so um, let's get started okay, so I'm going to start by sectioning my hair, which I've already done a little bit. I had to do when my hair was still pretty wet, so you just want kind of a u-shape, and you want to make sure that it's even on both sides - and I start my bangs right kind of where my I don't know what it's called kind of. Like where your temples are like, where your hair comes to a point, is where you want to kind of start them, and you want to make sure you don't pull them too far out, because then, when you start cutting in you're going to actually be cutting into This hair - and you don't want to do that so I've sectioned the hair and I'm just going to bobby, pin it up and then I'm going to pull the rest of the hair back so that I don't accidentally get other hair into my bangs. When I'm doing the cutting so now the hair that I'm cutting my bangs is actually wet, and so I want to make sure that it's a little bit drier. So I'm going to blow-dry it a little bit just until it's almost dry okay. So it's almost at the point of being completely dry and I keep it just a little bit wet because it gives it a little bit of weight to it. So it's easier when I'm actually cutting it. So now I'm going to put down a paper towel under where I'm heading, because you don't want hair all over your bathroom and now I'm just going to give my bangs an initial trim so that I can actually see what I'm doing so. I'M just going to cut them long and don't pull too hard on them because you don't want to have them turn out way shorter than they're supposed to I did this when I was on Warped Tour last summer and a mistake I made was: I pulled them And twist it and I looked down and then I trimmed them and when I looked up they were really really really short way. Too short, so don't do that so now you can actually see what you're doing just comb them, how they will fall naturally, and then I'm going to take clippers and make sure that they're all the way to the shortest setting. So they really get those little hairs and then I'm just going to start trimming I'd be really careful when you're doing this not to get your eyebrows, you don't want to trim your eyebrows in this whole process, so I'm just going to take some scissors and I'm Just going to get the little stragglers get these guys too, and then, of course, you can go back through and clean up with your clippers. Now I'm going to go in, I'm actually going to give them their final shape and imagery trimmings just keep getting them at home so that they are falling in the right direction and so you're getting rid of all of those loose hairs. I have this little brush and it's helpful to brush all the baby hairs off of your face and if your forehead starts getting sweaty, you can also powder your forehead so that it's not so sticky and you want to make sure they have that nice u-shape so Make sure that the sides are a little shorter and if you build scary, getting into the sides of your hair with the Clippers, you can always just clip those little baby ears with your scissors then make sure that you're looking from far away. So they look even now, you can let the rest your hair down, because you are done cutting and then I'm going to take a big barrel. Curling iron - and this is what's going to help - give these bangs some of that rounded shape, because my hair is naturally super super straight. So this helps some kind of curl under you can use a smaller barrel, curling iron. If you want, I like using a big barrel, curling iron, because it doesn't give you much room bangs and don't don't really like leave the curling iron in there, because it will give you a weird crimps. You just kind of want to give your bangs. That suggestion of being curled under and then this point, if you have any like weird stragglers, you can always go through and trim them. If you feel like your bangs or an even you can go through. I don't suggest using the Clippers after your bangs have been curled under like this because you may have curled unevenly, and so, when you trim with the Clippers, you may actually be trimming your bangs more uneven. You can definitely go through with scissors if you have like weird long hairs or whatever, but if you feel at this point they're still uneven, I would start over wash your bangs get them wet blow dry them again. So they're straight, you always want them to be straight and mostly dry when you cut them. Otherwise, if you cut them when they are wet, they will shrink when they're dry and you will have way too short bangs, which is what I did last summer. So please learn from my mistakes. Don'T do what I do. I hope that you guys found this helpful. Let me know if there are any styles now that you guys want to see the things, because, obviously I have things now so hope. You guys like this and be sure to subscribe for more mama

Jess Shaw: My bangs look gorgeous...first time cutting my own bangs. Glad I used your video, thanks for all your help!!!!

Melissa Kyle: Put tape over your eyebrows and you won't have to worry as much about shaving off your eyebrows.

MrsFloratheGreat: Hi Cherry, I used your tutorial to cut my betty bangs a few weeks ago and it looks great! And I think it's looks so much nicer than V-shaped betty bangs I keep seeing everywhere. Anyways, I had a question regarding styling: I have thin hair and even though I have quite a lot of hair in my bangs, they keep flying up all the time (and not just by a windy day, I just need to walk in the streets and they fly up). I've used wax but the finish but it ends up making strands of hair instead of a nice section, I've used hairspray but it's not enough to hold everything down or when it finally holds the bangs down they look like a piece of cardboard... I haven't tried pommade yet but I'd like to get this very glossy finish with a lot of hold without looking "wet". I was wondering if you would you have any advice on a specific product to use? Thank you for your time ;)

Melissa Marie: Definitely the best Betty Bang tutorial I've seen... I couldn't get a stylist to do them right and now they look awesome after I did everything in this video! Thanks!

MrsLizodeath: I love your videos! This one is great for those of us who had grown out our bangs and wanted to cut them again after some time. I really appreciate that you explained how to section off the hair, SO helpful! Seriously I watched at least 6 beautiful women just trimming the betty bang before I found this one, and it is TOPS!

Leora O: Thanks so much for this tutorial! This video helped me perfect my bangs! I love your vids!

Tiffany: i've been wanting bangs for a while and have watched this video multiple times but always wussed out. BUT! tonight i ordered my clippers and will have them next week! these bangs will be MIIIIIIINE!

Shannon Traynor: This is a great tutorial , I'd never seen bangs done with clippers before . I was getting nervous when you were clipping at the sides , but you did a great job . I love your hair with bangs ... so cute . Thanks for posting :)

missoctober77: I've had short bangs for 13 years and never thought of using clippers - great idea!

RedHeb: THANK YOU!!! Found your video last night because I was looking for guidance after struggling for months with my Bangs. Did it tonight and they are perfect!! So simple! You rock!

Carly Andersen: Dang, you just went right in there with clippers! I'm so impressed! I think part of the reason I will always go to a hairstylist and let her do it for me is that I just don't have that kind of confidence with sharp/cutting instruments for my hair. You look so good with this style of bangs! Thanks for the video :)

lauraboo1982: That was the scariest and most amazing thing ever!! Loved how you just went for it! Thanks for sharing!!!

TianaVenegas: This is great! I've been wanting these bangs forever, but stylists charge so much to do them ): Can't wait to try it out myself (:

matatak6: Hi Cherry, I always cut my bangs with clippers & I have accidentally gone to far into the sides & got hair I shouldn't have!! So like you said, scissors on the sides just in case. I'd like to see a pompadour with bangs either included into the pompadour or behind the bangs. And maybe bandanna/scarf styles with bangs. Thanks ;) love your videos.

Mariah Burns: I love this!! Just nervous to do it myself, totally want to try it. Yours came out perfect!

Liv's Life: Thank you so much! This is exactly what I requested -- you even replied when I asked you and now you've filmed it! I really appreciate it. Thank you!

CJ SS: After searching numerous videos, finally found one that properly shows how to basically create them! My bangs are as long as yours and I wanted to know where to go from there and your video definitely showed that to me. Let's pray the outcome comes out right

EdAlonso Cef/Al: wanted to do for a long time ... it is since saturday! Thank you for your explanations and video!  I love it!

Mindy Blue: Love the bangs! You make it look so easy!

Fernanda Verçosa: This is so clever! Finally an easy way to do it!

Angela Dolbear: Great idea using clippers! I usually pray and clip with great trepidation while using scissors that my bangs will turn out right! Totally off topic -- my hubby told me today that they started filming the sequel to "Dumb and Dumber." Same cast! I'm so excited! It's one of my favie films too. Blessings to you sweet lady! :)

Daisy Dukes: Whoa flash backs!!! Lol I remember watching this waaaaaaaay back when. Haha and now it’s 2018 and I’m rewatching it cuz I’m getting bangs again haha miss u cherry doll ❤️

Laura's Aquariums: Thank you so much for this video! I have bangs as well, and my hair lady wasn't available once, and I tried trimming them myself with scissors, I could not get the "U-shape" at all myself with scissors! Next time I have to do it myself, I'll be pulling out the clippers. Thank you again!

Angie68: how cool I never thought to use clippers, thanks Cherry for the tip:) I guess it is always good to have clippers around for different styles :)

Cherish Me: Thank you for this video ... was wondering what face shape you would consider yourself? and ask your personal opinion as to weather or not all face shapes can rock the baby bangs? I would like to experiment with baby bangs but I'm afraid it wont look right on me

porcelainx: From what I learned in beauty school, it's actually worse to cut any hair at all if it isn't completely wet or completely dry because since parts of your hair are still wet and not all dry, you're more likely to get uneven results since your hair is still shrinking in certain places. But if it works for you, awesome!

Katrina Rose: I can't tell you how many times in the last three years I have had my Bettie bangs back that they were jacked up by a stylist, there are very few who know how to shape the Bettie bangs right! I love this video it will help me out so much!! Thank you

prcupine: I'd love to see different vintage hairstylings with the bangs, maybe also with bandanas or scarfs. I also have Bettie Bangs so I'm really excited to see how you will style your hair in future videos :) Do you use special products for keeping the bangs in shape all day long? How do you handle situations where the bangs get wet, like workout, rain, going swimming etc.

CuteWholesomeGrrl: That's awesome, I never thought of using clippers to do bangs!

Savannah Herrera: USING THE CLIPPERS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA. How didn't I think of this. Thank you!!!! :)

Just Jilly: I love this video I would never of thought of using clippers. Looks so easy. Thanks Cherry! xxx =) xxx

Morgan Noel Whitcraft: When I was a teenager I used scissors to cut Bettie Bangs and it was very choppy.  I used this video (10 years later) and using the clippers made that nice clean line that I wanted.  Thank you Cherry!

Diana Gonzalez: Best Betty Bangs tutorial ever!!! I would love to see a victory roll tutorial with bangs :)

Rachel Jones: Omg I actually thought it looked really cute after you first trimmed them lol. But the end result is just perf

QueenofScrolls: I like the look, and just have to say how brave you are to cut your bangs right on camera!

Malene Minds: So beautiful. I'm scared to this, but love how it looks ❤

campbetc: Do you use the clippers to keep the bangs in shape, or just to do the initial cutting? I have Bettie bangs but the length/shape isn't as perfect as yours...was wondering if I could use the clippers to shape them up.

Leilani Justiniano: Thanks for the tips! Now that I also have Betty bangs I would LOVE to see more hairstyles!

Martha Sanchez: I've been watching this over and over cause i'm going to do it! but  don't want to mess up lol

Madeleine June: What a good idea! I've had straight bangs for a while now but cut them across with scissors. I might try his method!

Stahrie Nite: I love Betty bangs it's been a fail for me the last three time I got them, but I keep trying mainly because I'm super determined to have them in my life. This was actually way helpful, now maybe I can stop paying for fails lol

Meow Meow Kitty: Love it and for those who are nervous with clippers try using peanuts. They are still clippers, but much smaller and usually used for cleaning up edges and necks.

Audrey Giles: You looked really pretty when you just had them trimmed initially. They were almost the Zooey Deschannel bang. I love Bettie Bangs but haven't been brave enough to get them yet. When I do I will definitely let my stylist do them for me. I'm not brave enough to cut my own hair.

rockinkitten: Lovely! Really helpful :)

Shareen Mckee: Such a great idea! This is so much faster and precise

Melanie Bizonia: This video was a sign! I told this girl I liked her betyy bangs at work and only wished I knew how to cut them and then I got home and saw your video! Lol so got my trimmers and viola! Betty bangs x) thanks sooo much cherry! Love all your videos and I know this la weather might be why your sick 'cause I am too. Feel better with lots of love 3

Tatum Holloway: Hey Cherry, I notice a lot you grow out your bangs, I've had mine for about 4 years and am trying to grow them out. could you maybe do a video on hairstyle best for trying to grow out Betty bangs?

Valentina Cancino: Funny. I cut my bangs two days ago. It would have been very useful to have seen this video by then. I'll definitely use this technique next time. Thanks for all the videos!

TRINASTAR87: What size curling iron did you use? Love this video!!

skyraee: Cool! We cut and style our bangs the same exact way! Clippers are so much easier to use for this than scissors. It's even easier to do if you use a mini pair of clippers.

Indigotten: you've out done yourself once again! excellent video! i've wanted betty bangs for a long time and this video gave me confidence to to it

Lea Whispers: Hi Cherry! Just found your channel and I love it! Did you know that the British handbag designer has a bag called Cherry Dollface? Looks a lot like you x

RunxDevil: You are possibly my favorite youtube stylist, I just wish that I had the guts to try half of the tutorials you've posted.

RoxxiRockstar: Do you have a tutorial on your previously side swept bangs? Obviously we have to wait until you grow your bangs out and want to style them that way again...but I would definitely want to see it!

ktmd03: Awesome!! I will have to try this next time my bangs need a trim :)

Ana Belaustegui: Great tutorial! You are beautiful ♥

Kaylin Stacey: The hairstylist I go to is awesome! But I discovered regular hairstylists don't understand how to cut bettie bangs because it's styled a little different. With that being said, she cut them too far back on my head and too far to the sides. I tried to grow them out to restyle them but I got a little impatient. I watched your videos on how to style bangs when growing them out but I really like my bangs. Just wondering if it's silly to grow them out a little bit, then pin the bits back that I want to grow and cut the shape I want? Thanks a lot love your videos! Xox

Julia Skott: Great tip. I'll have to try it out next time.

mspinupgirly: yes! please more hair styles with bettie bangs!!

Quasimodo: Thank you for making this video!!!!

Alison Sharp: Such a good idea! I hate cutting mine with scissors i never get them straight!

Lilian Miramontes, Jr.: Could you do a video the next time you go to get your hair done where you show us detailed how you get your hair cut with long layers and noselength bangs? Because you've detailed the coloring process but not the cutting process and you're the only youtuber who does vintage hairstyles that actually has thick hair like mine.... and I would really appreciate seeing how you cut your hair so that my mom could replicate it. Thanks Cherry! Xoxo

Markie Ann Rodriguez: love them and could u do more bettie page dues

jessielynnfox: These bangs look great on you!
