Hi, I'm Stephen marinara, the salon guy 20 year, hair stylist and celebrity media and beauty correspondent, and today I'm gon na show you, ladies, how to cut your bangs. So two key things you need when cutting your bangs, especially if you're doing them yourself. You need a comb with white teeth and also a pair of shears. Now, if you don't have a pair of professional shears, it's okay, just as long as they're sharp enough to cut your hair. Now I'm gon na show how to cut these bangs on Kathy and then she can actually do it. So you guys can see that she knows what she's really doing so you guys can learn from it. So, as you can see, Kathy has longer, but also sweeping bangs, but they're a little long and they're due for a trim. So what I'm gon na do is show you how to comb this into place and then I actually go and cut it. So for all the people at home or, ladies that, want to cut their own bangs, I've seen some disasters so a few things. What you don't want to do when you're cutting your bangs at home? Is you don't want to cut them too short, you don't want to take a big chunk of hair like this. Take the scissors and chop into it. That'S the last thing you want to do because it's gon na create a harsh line. It'S not going to look natural and it's most likely gon na be too short. What you want to do is use the wide teeth of the comb like, so you want to gauge how much you're gon na cut by locking it in then you're going to bring it down like so down, depending on the length or depending on, if you're, going To angle it you can hold your comb a few different ways. If you want it straight across, you hold the comb straight across. If you want on an angle, you can hold the comb on an angle, then what you're going to do is use the tips of your shears, which I'm gon na, let you do and you're going to chip into it, like so point cutting into it. On the angle, following the line of the comb and that's gon na give you the angle and that's gon na help you to cut your bangs yourself, so Kathy you're, ready to give this shot now, remember I'm what I want to see you do is I want You to take your finger and, and then lock in with the comb, to find the established link that you want. Remember you don't want to go too short. Here'S the shears now you've got your established length of what you want now again. She wears it under slightly angle so, and I actually cut this on an angle and you want to make sure you're bringing us out just a little bit so you're, not cutting your nose or any anything off yeah all right, so give it a shot. You want to use the points of the scissors to cut into it. There we go good and what that's doing cutting on the point is allowing it to be a little more textured a little softer, wow you're great you're, better than I am all right now. Let it come down Wow, look at that gorgeous either I'm a good teacher or you're good hairstylist and you're, not even a hairstylist, but that looks great. So, as you can see, it's not that difficult to trim the bangs yourself. It was easy. So I think these look great well guys thanks so much for watching I'm Steven Marinero the salon guy 20 year, hair stylist on celebrity media and beauty correspondent, and thanks so much for watching my tutorial. I had to cut ladies bangs. You
