Body, smoking like a cigarette baby when i wake up in the morning anywhere, hey you guys, thanks for coming to check out another quick weave tutorial. So, as you can see from the title, this one is a sleek ponytail with a bang and i did start on freshly washed hair. You guys so the leave-in conditioner that i used is from pretty strands. I absolutely adore pretty strands. They have the leave-in conditioner and an oil, and i use them both and they do make your hair grow. I'M a testament to that. I also use the heat protectant from l'oreal and i used my babyliss flat irons. So you guys know when i do my hair. I always get hungry. I always have my snacks and i take my time. I always like to remind you guys of that. You know if you're doing your hair at home take your time don't be under any pressure. There'S absolutely no rush. If it takes you a day, two days three days to get through your hairstyle take your time, because if you put in the time it's absolutely worth it in the end, so i'm a huge proponent of skincare as well so make sure you're taking care of your Skin using a blow dryer, washing your hair and all that it can dry out your skin a blow. Dryer is extremely high heat, so just make sure you're protecting your skin with a good toner and a moisturizer i use fenty. So again i use my baby list flat iron um. I put it up on to 45. I believe the setting is 45 and i believe that's around 390 or so i never go higher than that when i'm flat ironing my natural hair. So, as you know, my hair is natural, it is colored, the color is fading out, but i still do like the color that it is right now. It'S like a really deep brown um. It was time for me to trim my ends, so i went ahead and just grabbed a pair of scissors and just trimmed off just right at the ends. I didn't do a huge trim. I think next time i'll do that. Probably when i color my hair again, i'm still trying to decide what color i want to do. So, if you guys have suggestions that you feel like would go nicely with my skin tone. Let me know what color you think i should do. I'Ve been toying with the idea of red, not burgundy, but actually red, and i'm telling with the idea of going back to the light brown that i did, because i kind of like how it faded into this really deep chocolate, dark brown. So we'll see what happens so you guys, like i said i took my time. I did all that flat ironing and washing and blow drying, and i was tired, so i decided to finish this style up the next day. So here we are the next day um. I went ahead and parted out my bang area, so the bang area i did decide to do like a curved sort of part at the front, because i felt like my baby hairs would look nicer with just a tad bit of a curve in the front. So i did that on both sides. My bang is going to be flowing to the right side, so um yeah, the most important baby hairs. That you'll see are this side that i'm swooping, but i did swoop both sides just out of habit. I guess so. I used um my edge control and then i went ahead and used. The um got to be spray, so i use that just to set the edge control in place and so yeah, i'm just gon na. Do my baby hairs and then i'll be back with the next step. Do so now that the baby hairs are done, it's time to part out the front section for the ponytail? Now you want to make sure you part this exactly where you want your ponytail to be placed on your head, because this is going to determine the placement of the ponytail. So i did mine super high um. If you don't want yours, this high, then just part it to where you want your ponytail, but i wanted mine high. So i started with a rat tail comb to go ahead and slick down the ponytail, and then i grabbed my you know: brush your brain away. Brush this brush, you can find in your local beauty, supply store. It'S amazing. It literally gets every single hair in place, and so i absolutely love that brush. I just grabbed two small ponytail holders, just the little tiny rubber bands and i use those to hold the ponytail in place. You want to make sure that you're using a blow dryer to set the got to be spray. The hairspray always sets better and looks better. It becomes very like shiny, and it also sets in place when you use your blow dryer, so make sure that you know you're not just using the got to be spray but you're using the spray and you're also using your blow dryer, because it's going to give You that really nice shine and it's going to set your hair in place. The way you want so now you're going to go ahead and separate the hair again, because i like to work in sections for me - is the best way to get my hair to lay where i want it to go without any lumps and bumps. I do have very thick hair, but i feel like, even if you don't have thick hair when you're doing your hair yourself, you want to set yourself up for success, so you want to work as simply and neatly as possible. So i create that second section. Out of the middle section, apply the hairspray just add more rubber bands. I do not take out those initial rubber bands. I just add two more rubber bands and apply that on top of the ponytail, that's already there, you don't want to start messing around with taking out the ponytail um when you're doing your hair yourself, you want to just you know, like i said, work in sections That are easy for you to handle and digest. So this last section you want to comb it out. Detangle it go ahead and apply all your got to be spray all over the section use your rat tail comb. Remember that's the order. We'Re doing we're going to do a rat tail comb comb out then we're going to use our brush to smooth it out and we're going to go ahead and apply our ponytail holder. So um and and blow dry, don't forget to blow dry and you can do all that even before you apply your ponytail holder, because literally the got to be spray is going to keep the hair in place even without the ponytail holder. So again apply your ponytail holder on top of all the other rubber bands. So, by the time this ponytail is done, you're going to have six rubber bands right, two rubber bands for each section and there's three sections so you're gon na have six rubber bands holding your ponytail together, so you're gon na wan na go ahead and braid your Hair down and then you're gon na start applying your tracks before you do that you want to protect your hair with some wrap strips. I get these in black so that you don't have to worry about them, showing i use just a dab of glue to hold that in place or you could use a rubber band. A ponytail holder, i use my glue. The glue that i'm using today is salon pro 22nd 30 second and then the tracks that i'm using today are my own um from my brand. These are the glee made luxe straight um bundles, and these are in two bundles of ten and one bundle of twelve. I didn't end up being able to fit all three bundles, but i did end up fitting two and a half, because i was determined to get as much hair on this ponytail as humanly possible. So i don't like to apply the glue to the tracks. I particularly like to apply the glue to the wrap strips so for me, it's easier doing my hair myself to work in smaller sections that are less messy and i just find it to be less messy to apply the glue to the wrap strip. I also find it easier to cut my tracks, so i do not work with the whole long track that it comes with. I actually cut the track into four sections that are easier for me to wrap um so that i can make sure that it's neat and i'm not getting glue all over the tracks, because i do use my tracks again um. So i make sure that i'm working in sections that are easy for me to work with, so that i can use the hair again and i'm not getting the hair. You know totally messy and nasty, so i can't use it again so to finish off this bundle. I just grab a little bit of glue or i didn't grab glue. Excuse me, i just grabbed the end of the um track and just wrapped it around. I found that this wasn't enough hair, so i decided to add more and like i told you by the time it was all over and i finished, adding all the extra hair. It was two and a half bundles on my head. So so, once i got the hair brushed out where i wanted it to go, i sectioned off a piece: that's going to be the band that goes around the ponytail just to give it a nice sleek finish: you're gon na wrap it around detangle. It and add got to be spray to go ahead and keep it nicely held in place. You guys you can see this hairstyle is a lot of hairspray. So if you don't like hairspray, i don't think this is the hairstyle for you, because this bad boy, you're gon na use about a quarter of a can of got to be spray on this hairdo. But i promise you it's gon na come out fly in the end, but it's definitely sprayed down and hardened into place. Okay, and just to give you guys a quick reminder, you definitely want to spray down the top of the ponytail so that the hairs are staying. Where you want them to stay so make sure you know you get the hairs in place where you want them at the top of the ponytail and spray them down with some hairspray so that they stay in place now you're going to want to determine where you Want your ponytail, so i ended up cutting this two times the first time i had it longer and i like that it was cute. I wore it that way for like probably two days and then i decided i wanted shorter later so you'll see both ways in this video because y'all know i go all out for y'all. I show y'all as much as i possibly can in these videos. Okay, so you got options, options all right, so i'm going to show you guys a longer ponytail and then at the end, i'm going to show you a shorter ponytail all right. So now, let's get started on this bang so with the bang you're going to want to part your hair out three times and apply the tracks three times. So you literally part the first section, you measure the bang piece and then you're going to want to double the track. Okay, so you double the track glue the tracks together and then glue the track onto your parted section. Do not glue the track onto your hair. Glue it onto the parted section: okay, now um people feel oh, the glue pulls out your hair. It doesn't, you can literally just apply some oil onto the track and the glue will dissolve well, it won't dissolve, but the glue will release and it'll come off of your scalp and off of your hair. So it's no big deal, so you want to apply three different track pieces, comb them together and then you're gon na want to start to mold your bang. You could apply heat right now if you feel like you need to apply some heat on the tracks and your own hair, but i didn't feel like i needed to do that, because my hair was still pretty straight from the day before so i went ahead and Determined how it was going to look if it was the right length if it looked like it needed more hair, and it looked fine to me. So i went ahead and trimmed the section behind my ear and went ahead and started molding now, depending on the thickness of your hair and the volume or length that you want. You can always make adjustments here, but, like i said, i was pretty happy with how it was looking. So i just went ahead and started molding the hair now to mold the hair you're going to grab your got to be spray you're, going to start spraying through the hair you're going to start molding it with your fingers, as well as with a rat tail comb. When you get it to where you want it to be, and it's molded down to where you want that's when you're going to start to apply heat and it'll start to you know, set in place before you apply the heat, the hair will still be able to Be like malleable and movable, but once you start to apply the heat it's going to stay stuck in place, so you want to make sure you get it to where you want it with the hairspray first. So just remember: when you're molding, your hair down, you want to use a combination of the comb, your fingers, the palm of your hand. It just helps to give a really nice smooth look and then you want to apply the heat to give it a really pretty shine. So y'all see i'm a perfectionist, but once you've got every single piece of that bang in place and hardened down, then you can start working on your ponytail you're going to want to just bump it very lightly, just straighten it and bump it really really light and Then again more hairspray, you guessed it more hair spray, okay and then you're pretty much good to go. So this is what the ponytail looks like a little longer and then i decided to throw on some makeup get a little cute for y'all and then i was like hmm: let's see how this will look even shorter, so i went ahead and trimmed it off shorter. Sorry, i'm a little bit out of the frame you guys, you know doing your hair on your own is not easy. Okay, the struggle be so real, but it's worth it for y'all. I do this struggle for you, so i couldn't really get the ponytail exactly perfect. I really wish that um i had eyes on the back of my head. I also wish that i had a razor, but i was just like i was gon na pull out the razor and try to do it, but i was just like bruh. If i mess this up, let me just stick with the scissors, because i have a little bit more control with the scissors but um. If you have somebody that could potentially like get the clippers and like clip the ponytail for you, it would definitely come out like a perfection, but i was still happy with the outcome. Um. I think it ended up coming out super super cute. I got so many compliments on this hairstyle, you guys it's very retro. It'S serving like 90s realness, i put on some big hoop earrings, so the clips in the beginning of the video you can see me rocking my 90s style with my big hoop earrings um, and i just love it. I absolutely love it. Let me know what you guys think about this style. I'M definitely going to try some more quick weave. Ponytails.
